This is not a case of “saving the best for last” with the Cannes amfAR coverage. This is the last post of fashion photos from the event, and all of the ladies in this post are wearing Chanel. And every single look is WRONG. Totally and completely wrong. Let’s start with Kirsten Dunst in this Chanel suit. Is it a nice suit? Sure. It would have been great if she was making a court appearance or going to a charity luncheon in Beverly Hills. But this is the amfAR gala! And what’s worse is that for the entire Cannes Film Festival, Kiki has been killing it. She’s been knocking it out of the park on carpet after carpet. This is just wrong.
Juliette Binoche’s Chanel wasn’t completely terrible. It actually looks nice in this photo, although it had some bad angles in other photos.
Vanessa Paradis’s Chanel makes me wonder WTF is going on with Karl Lagerfeld these days. Why is doing these gigantic “feathered” sleeves? Why isn’t this lined throughout the bodice? Ugh.
Soo Joo Park in Chanel. This is just a negligee! And the mullet is doing her no favors.
Chloe Sevigny didn’t even walk the red carpet, which might mean that she kind of hated her frothy milkmaid dress? Because I hate it.

My eyes! My eyes!! SOOOOO much fug going on here! I do like Kiki’s suit, but it is a bit severe for Cannes in late spring. Perhaps in another color…?

I love that suit on her! Look at the cut, and the silhouette–it reminds me of old-school Hollywood glamor. And the shoes are fabulous.

I like the silhouette of the suit but it looks heavy for this event. And the button detail doesn’t help.

This dress reminds me of this post apocalyptic game I played where Kirsten Dunst was the President.
You know, now that you say this I can picture Kiki as a young version of Mary McDonnell’s character in Battlestar Galactica* with so much ease, it’s scary. Literally all she’d have to do is dye her hair red.
*(who actually did become the President in a postapocalypse)

Yeah, it’s not the expected choice for a gala but I love it, it has a kind of 40s silhouette and I love the styling – I love that there’s just a little bit of her no doubt very expensive necklace peeping out from the suit, and that buttonhole flower and those shoes are killing me. They actually look like ones I’ve seen her wear way back in 2007 at the Met, it’s kind of blowing my mind that she’s kept a favourite pair of heels for that long.
And honestly, it beats all the tacky prom dress fashions certain other starlets have been serving this time around at Cannes. Kiki can grandma it up all she wants, at least she knows there’s more to style than wearing a tight princessy ballgown.

Kiki looks old for her age IMO. I think she must have partied a lot. Compare her to Racheal McAdams who is more my age(38) and Racheal looks way younger IMO.
