Kim Kardashian & Kanye West caused chaos & a near-riot in New York

FFN_GG_KARDASHIAN_WEST_2_06052016_52082514

Here are some photos of Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and North West out and about in New York on Sunday. Kim wore this negligee-looking dress for all of the pap strolls. Kim and Yeezy also took North to see The Lion King. The Kardashian-Wests flew to New York partially because there’s a huge fire threatening much of Calabasas (where many family members live), and there have been evacuations and warnings. Of course, Kanye was also supposed to do a “pop up” concert in New York which was canceled before it even started, and the whole thing just seemed like a chaotic mess – go here to see some coverage of the near (or actual) riot.

Meanwhile, Kanye gave a radio interview a few days ago and he ended up talking about his Twitter problem, his family and how he’s a genius. Some quotes:

He doesn’t regret any of his tweets: “We’re going to be gone in 100 years. I can’t say enough.”

He reads the comments: “I wake up in the morning and go read comments…I like it. Any comments or whatever. Hypebeast is one of my favorite sites to go to. They’re hilarious. It’s just the funniest comments and stuff.…I go read it. Wake up in the morning, check it out, read some comments. I got this line on ‘Saint Pablo,’ checking Instagram comments to crowdsource my self-esteem. I was saying that sarcastically.”

But don’t comment about his family: “I’m crazy about my kids. I’m crazy about Kim. I’m so happy to be a father. I know when I talk about my music I get amped up. I wanna sit and listen. I want to learn what my daughter has to say. What she learns. I just want to learn how she learns in this world. I’m extremely protective.”

He insists that he told Taylor Swift about his song “Famous”: “Yes, I told her that we was going to say that. I didn’t tell her. I asked her how she felt about it.”

He’s a winner: “I’m a champion. I’m a winner. I came to innovate. I came to change. This is like Michael Jackson level. You need a guy like me in the game. I only know how to give 1,000 percent.”

[From E! News]

Just FYI: Kanye’s story about the Taylor Swift thing has remained the same since the beginning, and I tend to believe that he did give her a heads-up about the song. But I don’t know why he’s still talking about her. Even Taylor is over it. As for Kanye’s “I’m a champion. I’m a winner… This is like Michael Jackson level…” Is it though? Don’t get me wrong, I love Kanye’s self-love, but I do hate when he compares himself to the greatest artists and innovators of all time.

I don’t understand the top of that dress. The bottom is actually quite nice, but why didn’t they finish sewing the top on? I’m so confused

    • JenYfromTheBlok says:

I think Kim’s dress is awesome FOR AN ADULT, but the child’s outfit? I shouldnt’ even comment…I just know I’d be part of the riot trying to NOT see that

      • Birdix says:

Agreed. Black satin and lacy negligee on a toddler screams trolling for attention.

      • Snazzy says:

Very true! So so wrong …

      • thelazylioness says:

They are determined to bring back the 90s fashion and I have no problem with that because I have a gorgeous slip dress that I haven’t worn in over 12 years. But on the child that is just inappropriate.

    • boredblond says:

Reminiscent of Liz Taylor’s lingerie drawer circa 1950s

  2. Christin says:

Were the people purchased crowd fillers, or are there that many people who can and will drop everything to follow this guy?

If it’s the latter, I’m concerned about society.

    • Fee says:

      Free concert…people will run.
Whose the girl with the braids holding Norths hand?

  3. na na says:

All i’ll say is… North is such a beautiful child!

  4. swak says:

Why are they dressing North in clothes that are not age appropriate? Who puts a little girl in a lace and satin negligee looking dress? How cold is it in NYC that a leather jacket is needed? Again, a fail on Kim’s part in her outfit.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

So inappropriate. Leather and lace is known to be a sexy combination on an adult. Why would you dress a child that way? I’m surprised that Kayne allows that since he’s so “protective.” It’s gross.

      • Willa says:

        Inappropriate indeed.

      • Jwoolman says:

He’s only protective of Nori when somebody asks him about it. He’s too busy otherwise being a genius.

Even worse- he must have approved this seductive little number for his toddler daughter. He’s in control of the clothes. She’s just a prop for both her egg and sperm donors.

    • Giddy says:

North is a gorgeous child and I would love to see her in bright, happy, age appropriate clothes. Why is Kim is wearing a nightie?

    • teacakes says:

Honestly, North seems to be wondering that herself – she may be a toddler but that is a ‘what are my parents making me wear?’ look if I’ve ever seen one.

    • swak says:

I’m trying to decide if you take the jacket off North, if the dress really covers what it is suppose to cover. In the first picture of North it looks like the lace is the whole bodice with no lining beneath it. Hard to tell.

    • saras says:

They do everything on purpose. Cancel pop up that he probably had no intention on playing, dressing North in lingerie again (outrage worked before and should because nobody else could get away with it), and playing happy family fleeing fire for sympathy. Pathetic all of them…

    • Elizabeth says:

I think it was in the low 80s yesterday.

      • swak says:

It just bothers me that they put her in such a heavy coat when it is not necessary. Of course if it was cold inside The Lion King, then the jacket would be okay, but not outside! Makes one wonder if she was trying to cover up North’s outfit.

  5. Jenny says:

    Kanye: “I can’t say enough”

The wise person doesn’t say whatever thoughts pass thru their head. The wise person keeps their mouth shut 99% of the time. What’s that old proverb – “open your mouth and prove yourself a fool”?

  6. Jenny says:

Love that expression on the woman holding the phone between Kanye & Kim in the top photo!! Lol!

    • CariBean says:

I clicked on the story just for that reason! I thought WTF is she freaking out about?

  7. Calico Cat says:

I’m not a fashion expert, but I can’t see where anything Kanye is wearing goes with anything else on him. Is Mismatched Salvation Army Chic the look this season, or is he going for the LSD Cowboy look?

  8. Frosty says:

I think he’s talking about her not just because it sells but also because Taylor (or rather her image), through no fault of her own at all, has been taken up by neo-nazis as some epitome of Aryan womanhood.

  9. Snowflake says:

Poor north. Awful outfit! Talk about idiots! More $$ than sense. They prob think she looks so fashionable. It will be funny to see what North wears when she’s a teen. That leather jacket looks great so heavy. Is it still cold in new York?

It’s OK north. You can come stay with me. I’ll dress you in kids clothing and I’ll actually play with you.

    • swak says:

She’d get pretty dirty at my house playing. I have a 3 year old (almost 4) that LOVES “wormies” and she kisses them and my daughter built her, her own little wormie house. But, yeah, not only would she be dressed in kids clothing, she’d be dressed in clothes that it doesn’t matter if she gets dirty or not.

  10. Melly says:

It’s totally not gross at all that they have their young daughter wearing a sexy lace dress.
    **Heavy sarcasm**

  11. Michael Jackson… ? really?

    • Annetommy says:

I always thought Michael Jackson was over-rated. I’m not sure why his – alleged – behaviour doesn’t attract the same level of vitriol as Johnny Depp’s, Woody Allen’s and Sean Penn’s – alleged – behaviour.

      • As an artist, dancer and songwriter, Jackson was truly amazing. His music focussed on different social issues like environment, unity, political injustice, diversity among others and not to forget his silly rants of how he didn’t get a proper childhood. Pop music was inspirational compared to today’s butt orientated shrieking. I grew up listening his music. I keep playing his music during my exam preparation. I don’t think he was overrated.

Regarding Jacksons personal life, I think he may have committed those god awful crimes he appeared to be little weird, what with his Bashir interview. He had a warped sense of childhood. But i think he was globally humiliated, parodied, and his music career never recovered in US, as it should have been. It was only after his death, public perception of him as you know what faded a bit.

He was no Mozart for sure but he was very very talented combined with his wackiness, he was one of a kind. I daresay an icon. Kanye is talented but no where near Michael Jackson.

People can be fan of the artist’s work and still hold them guilty of whatever crimes they commit.
Similarly, i like reading Alice in wonderland, but the writer himself was a shady character.

      • Annetommy says:

The artist as an artist / artist as a person interface has been thoroughly debated on the site recently, and I won’t rehash it. But I don’t think Jackson’s name has come up among the calls for people to be shunned and boycotted, and he remains an enormously successful posthumous artist, despite very credible evidence of his long term activities. As an artist, some nice tunes and moves but to my mind very little adult emotion. No comparison to artists like Marvin Gaye or Al Green, who you believed had loved and hated and lost. I suppose in that way Jackson achieved his ambition to be Peter Pan and never grow up. I have no view about Kanye West’s music, I’m not familiar enough with it, but as a person he seems a bit of a git.

  12. Patricia says:

We will never hear the end of it if Kanye caused a riot. “I’m so amazing the people riot over me. I’m a genius!”

Who is that very normal looking young girl holding North’s hand? She’s too normal to be associated with the Kardashian Klan!

    • Jwoolman says:

Could the girl be a cousin? I’ve seen pics of Nori before with a very young nanny identified as a cousin. Not the same one, I think. Hopefully Kanye’s family is on the case to protect this kid from her idiot parents.

  13. Kate says:

One: if you’re crazy about your children, dress them like children and allow them to be actual children.
Two: yes you can say enough and you already have. So please, just zip it.

  14. The Eternal Side-Eye says:

He literally can’t say enough. He struggles to find more to say. He comments on every random topic and thought that enters his head. (Hi Kanye!) Including and especially Taylor Swift. Yet no matter how many words he speaks he has nothing of substance or value to offer.

Even his fashion line is like that. A poorly planned exercise in Kanye trying to show us how special he is with no discernible effect on anyone or thing.

  15. DiamondGirl says:

I love the matching “derp” expressions in the main pic. Worth a thousand words.

Did they just pick up a random tween in that last pic?

  16. Skins says:

I’ve tried listening to his music, but he sounds like every other rapper to me. As far as her, seeing he strut around like she is the Queen of England makes me want to vomit.

  17. jetlagged says:

Michael Jackson level? Ugh…NO. Not even close.

So, he can trash talk other women and their children but he doesn’t want his kids and his wife to be commented on? And yeah, he needs to get over his obsession of Taylor Swift.

  18. my3cents says:

What is up with Kim’s breast? Did she just couture the heck out of them or is it just the photo?
Also what is going on with her dress and coverup? She literally looks like she rolled out of bed.

    • AnnaKist says:

I wondered the same thing about her breast. Is it bronzer or what the top of the nightie is doing? As for the “dress”, the bodice is far too long for her short body, particularly from neck to waist. She has this problem with many of these types of dresses, and just never learns. It’s ok as a nightie, if a little uncomfortable-looking, but I wouldn’t be caught dead in the street wearing it. Poor North.

      • Zip says:

“the bodice is far too long for her short body”

Yeah, #shortpeopleproblems. 😀 The clothes she is wearing are not made for people like her. It’s already hard enough to find regular clothes that fit a short body (I know the pain). It must be impossible to get actual designer stuff that would fit without additional tailoring.

    • Velvet Elvis says:

She’s lost so much weight that the outline of her breast implant is showing.

      • Kitten says:

I’m 100% convinced that she had lipo. 100%.

      • Elisa the I. says:

        I guess it’s both weight-loss and lipo.
I know I’m in the minority on here, but IMO she looks fab. Totally different, but fab.

      • swak says:

@Zip, she has the money to get it tailored, so why not get it tailored to fit correctly. Only reason I see is that she is borrowing it and must return it.

      • me says:

I do think she had a lot of lipo done, especially around her waist, but these pics seem elongated. Even Kanye looks slimmer. This is a photography trick.

  19. Egomaniac says:

I hope the city of New York sues him to recoup the cost of that mess. I don’t want my tax dollars to go to paying for that loser’s stunts, not if he didn’t clear it first. He’s such an egomaniac–it’s pathological.

  20. swak says:

Question. On DM it was said he was suppose to perform at the Governor’s Ball (from what I understand it is a concert). So was this a pop up concert for that venue or was this just something he decided to do since the Governor’s Ball got cancelled?

  21. me says:

Kim had nothing to do with the riot. People were mad Kanye’s show was cancelled and acted immaturely. LOL the title of this story makes it seem like people in NYC went crazy because Kim and Kanye were there. That’s not true.

Also, I have to say I think it’s so gross how Kim always wears long coats that drag on the ground like that. So germy !

    • swak says:

There’s pictures of Kanye being driven through the crowds with hanging out of the sun roof of the car. So, she may not be responsible, but he is responsible for adding to the chaos.

  22. mme says:

They might wanna stop pulling her hair so tight. Her edges look snatched

  23. Penelope says:

Can’t stand the way they dress that beautiful little girl. It’s downright creepy.

  24. Amelie says:

Governor’s Ball is a music festival that takes place on Randall’s Island. It is not a pop up concert, it is a pre-planned event that takes place over 3 days with various artists performing. Since it takes place on an island, you can’t just spontaneously show up and start singing. Sunday was gross in NYC it rained on and off torrential downpours all day so for the safety of concert goers they cancelled the last day. Everyone will be refunded. So no not everyone in NYC rioted about it. Maybe everyone on Randall’s Island did at Governor’s Ball but that’s another story.

  25. Shannon says:

I do think he’s enxtremely talented and innovative, and I really love most of his music. I also love his defiant self-love, because damn, we really all need that. However, I do think he suffered greatly at the loss of his mother. My older son was an only child until he was 12, and I was a single mom, and I know how strong that bond is. It’s like, best friend + mom + son + us against the world. When I’ve hit extreme depression, having my son saved my life because I just knew how much it would rock his world if I wasn’t there. He’s 21, and I know it would still rock his world. That’s a tight bond, and if he hasn’t sought counseling, I really think he should. It doesn’t make him weaker, it would make him looking for healing he needs.

  26. Erica_V says:

Wait.. is this a typo or is he saying that he both told Taylor & didn’t tell her?

“Yes, I told her that we was going to say that. I didn’t tell her. I asked her how she felt about it.”

    • Jwoolman says:

This is the same guy who thought President Obama had his home phone number and used it… Which the Prez denied. The same Prez who said once (after K stormed the stage when Taylor Swift was accepting a reward?) that Kanye was talented but a jackass.

So it’s safe to say that anything Kanye claims about such events needs to be backed up by a responsible adult witness. He might be lying or he might be stuck in his own fantasy.

    • Mare says:

He also claimed that Taylor said she was ok with it, which her people denied. I doubt he told her.

  27. caitlinK says:

I had rarely heard of Kanye before Celebitchy, and certainly not heard his music, so I sampled some of it, and wow was it AWFUL!!! So dishearteningly, aggressively bad I couldn’t even get past three-quarters of the songs, and it was with pure, bracing effort that I managed even that. I Iike some, mostly 80s rap, though it’s not my favorite music genre, but THIS? Well, maybe it’s partially that, at 37, I’m too old for it, though I think Kanye himself is around my age. I just cannot figure out why on earth some actually consider him a genius, or even talented, and why he has any fans at all! He and his music both are atrocious.

  28. rudy says:

It was HOT in nyc that day.
North is in a LEather Jacket??????

Does Kim EVER wear anything but Nighties and Heels????
Does Kim EVER dress North in a REAL color????
Does Kim EVER keep her breasts IN????

I am SO sick of this woman. I tried to like her. I did I did. I watched Snapchat stories. That was the end of Kim for me. She ONLY PUT HERSELF on every SINGLE time. Nothing about anything else but KIM.

Poor North. A prop for two narcissistic parents. I don’t care how many people say “Kim is such a nice girl”. She is NOT raising that child. She is Displaying her child. Disgusting.
