Charlie Sheen: Trump gave me cubic zirconia, claimed it was diamond

"An Audience with Charlie Sheen" at The Theatre Royal Drury Lane
Charlie Sheen is an abusive POS who is thought to have deliberately spread HIV to perhaps dozens of partners, for which he spent millions in hush money. He regularly gives creative death threats to anyone unfortunate enough to have to deal with him, including his own young daughter, but he still gets major TV interviews to promote his projects. On Friday Charlie was on The Graham Norton show ahead of his “Evening with Charlie Sheen” show with Piers Morgan in London, which was Sunday. He’s trying to convince people he’s changed. He shows up sober-ish and talks a good game and everyone wishes well for him. It’s maddening and yet here we are again. (Incidentally, the performance got a good review from The Telegraph and it’s being hailed as a comeback.)

On Graham’s show, Charlie told a story about how Donald Trump gave him what he claimed were expensive platinum diamond Harry Winston cufflinks as a gift, which turned out to be cubic zirconia knockoffs. That sounds about right. I expect when Trump gets word of this he’ll just deny ever meeting Charlie. Here are some quotes and you can see the video below:

About five years ago, I was at a dinner with my ex-wife Brooke [Mueller] and her family and this and that, and about halfway through I noticed Donald staring at my watch. And so he started saying, ‘Listen… I’m sorry that I can’t make your wedding,’ and I was [thinking], I didn’t invite you. So he says, ‘But I want to give you an early wedding gift as a gesture from me and Melania.’ And she doesn’t say a word. She’s very sweet and very pretty, but just kind of sits there, ya know?

[Trump] says, ‘These are platinum diamond Harry Winston,’ and he pulls off his cuff links and he gives them to me. And so I’m like, ‘Oh gosh, Mr. Trump, you really shouldn’t do this,’ and he goes, ‘No, no, it’s the least I can do.’

So smash-cut to about six months later, I have some jewelry getting appraised at the house and she finished and was leaving, and I said, ‘Oh yeah, you know there’s a couple other pieces I have that I’m very curious about. Would you mind appraising these?’” said Sheen. “She said, ‘Oh, what are they?’ I explained the dinner, this and that, these are from Donald Trump, Harry Winston, flawless Ds, platinum. She took the loupe, spent about four seconds, and kind of recoiled from it—much like people do from Trump.

So [the appraiser] says, ‘In their finest moment, these are cheap pewter and bad zirconias.’ And they’re stamped ‘Trump.’ And I just thought, ‘What does this really say about the man? That he said this is a great wedding gift, and it’s just a bag of dogsh*t?

Is that the laughter I can hear coming across the pond at our country about this charlatan?

I have faith, that good and decent people will make the right choice and the circus will leave town before it contaminates the Oval Office.

[From The Graham Norton show, via The Daily Beast]

You would think these two would be natural allies. Charlie isn’t known for his veracity either, but this is probably true. There are more pressing reasons to not vote for Trump other than just the fact that he lies all the time, but that’s just indicative of his character.

After that Graham asked Charlie abut his 2011 breakdown. Charlie said he was ashamed of it but claimed that it was all due to being sick of his job. “I just think I got so tired of saying somebody else’s words and being told how to say them that I decided… to write my own script, you know?

No, he was heavily addicted to and abusing drugs. That was an addict in the throes of addiction, not a guy having a Jerry Maguire moment. Charlie also claimed that he didn’t learn he had HIV until later and that had nothing to do with his 2011 antics. He claimed that he no longer does drugs and that he still drinks but that he “sips.”

Speaking of Charlie’s HIV diagnosis, he’s said that “now I genuinely feel like I’m part of something important. It was not my intention to become the face of HIV and AIDs but there’s been nobody else.” Again, No.

Charlie has a new interview with The Sun (link has topless photo and is NSFW), where he claims that he only had sex without condoms twice and that’s how he contracted HIV. According to his ex-fiance he was having sex with her without condoms well after his diagnosis and he never told her he had HIV. Also, a Madam told Page Six a while ago that Charlie would pay more to have unprotected sex prior to his diagnosis. Charlie is now promoting a new condom line. I wish I was making that up.

Update: Radar Online reports that a new documentary of Sheen will air on Reelz this Saturday. It will contain audiotapes from The National Enquirer in which Sheen admits having unprotected sex after his HIV diagnosis and not informing his partner. Charlie also reportedly backtracked on his claim that he’s informed all of his sexual partners of his HIV status. During his “Evening With Charlie Sheen” event, he admitted not telling some partners, but insisted he still used protection. “The only times I didn’t tell them, was because the last 25 times they used it against me, and used my medical condition for their own folly, and financial gain.” A criminal investigation into Sheen is reportedly underway.

Darn, and here I thought Trump had that coveted Charlie Sheen endorsement in the bag, too.

    • Myrna says:

      Right!
If the cuff link story is true, does anyone think Trump would gift someone something he was wearing?
      Geez
He’s a multi dollar billionaire and whether you love or hate him, he has people to distribute gifts and I’d assume they’d be gorgeously wrapped.
If it happened, sounds like Trump was dogging a DOG – done in jest with a snicker.

      Go away Charlie Sheen.

      • Kyle says:

The New York Times has an article up right now that Trump gifted his mentor and great friend a set of cubic zirconia cuff links that he claimed were Harry Winston top grade. Good reason to believe that at most Trump is a multimillionaire not a billionaire. See what Mark Cuban has said about Trump’s supposed wealth.

      • Lauren says:

But Trump might not even be a real multi billionaire though? There are quite a few videos out there where specialist discuss and analyse Trump’s net worth and it has come out that his wealth could be between a few hundred millions to 1 billion at most. He still is a cheap ass though.

      • Lindsay says:

He is rich but probably not a billionaire. The only person who has ever said he is worth over a billion dollars is Trump himself and that number fluctuates constantly. He also has never been known for his generosity. Almost all his charitable donations are in the form of golf passes and other various Trump merchandise.

        http://gawker.com/donald-trumps-grossly-exaggerated-net-worth-a-timeline-1711718182

Once he claimed to be worth both 1.7 and 5 billion dollars in the same day:
        http://www.newsweek.com/how-much-trump-worth-depends-how-he-feels-384720

Although for a wedding, you were not invited to, between two drug addicts continually making bad decisions pewter and cubic zirconia sounds about right. Cheap items trying to masquerade as something classy, refined, and luxurious. Plus, they can’t be pawned for drugs and Brooke and Charlie would be too high to know the difference. Of course Trump should have just said “Congratulations” and pick up the check or buy a bottle of champagne. He is an acquaintance who wasn’t invited to the wedding he really didn’t owe them anything other than an acknowledgment and best wishes. The better question is why was Trump wearing them? Did he know what they were? Melania should get her jewelry appraised. Lol

      • holly hobby says:

Trump is cheap. I read an article the other day from the crew who worked on the Apprentice (they are finally coming out of the woodwork to comment!). They said he’s crass and makes inappropriate comments about women (menstruation is a big hang up with this man apparently). Anyway, one of the crew said at a wrap party, he told the cast and crew that he bought champagne to celebrate (top of the line apparently. I don’t know my liquor). It later came out that he did not purchase the champagne but made production spring for it – which came out of the production budget.

Those checks he gave away for charity aren’t from him either.

      • Tiffany :) says:

Trump has many lawsuits against him because he regularly does not pay people for work that he hires them to do. Whether it is construction crews at his hotels, waitstaff, etc. he will contract with them to do work. Then he doesn’t pay and thinks that he can financially withstand the legal runaround and the vendors will not. A small woodworking company was owed hundreds of thousands of dollars for work that they did, and Trump never paid them. They couldn’t afford to front that much in labor and supply costs and not get reimbursed, so they went bankrupt.

Trump is a very bad man.

      • Lisa says:

Are you seriously defending Trump, Myrna? *SMH* Lol. Charlie Sheen and Trump are both bottom of the barrel…just yuck.

  2. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Ugh. I don’t know if I believe anything he says.

    • Kate says:

Does he even believe what he says? He is pretty much just talking out of his a$$

    • Prettykrazee says:

I know. Both of them are disgusting liars.

    • Erinn says:

He did however get me with
“And she doesn’t say a word. She’s very sweet and very pretty, but just kind of sits there, ya know?”

I feel like that’s a good indicator of what she’d be as FLOTUS. She’s pretty and she just sits there.

      • Myrna says:

Gorgeous, yes, but devoid of any substance and major attitude.
Wonder if she’s keeping a fierce Euro mojo under wraps?
Would love to see if she’s got passion for anything other than jewelry and modeling.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Erinn, I saw your post about your diagnosis on Sunday, very late. Best wishes and good luck with it! Please keep me posted. ❤️

      • Brittney B. says:

Yes, Erinn, I only know you as a fellow commenter here, but best of luck to you!! You’re a bright star around these parts.

      • Jwoolman says:

Well, Michelle Obama will be a hard act to follow.

But there must be more to Melania than meets the eye. She has to be tough to deal with The Donald. It’s about time in his cycle to be cheating on her with another mistress that he will marry after he divorces her, as he did when she was the mistress and as he did with the wife he cheated on then (who also was the former mistress). I don’t see him as a very loving spouse, and he’s a relatively disengaged father who prefers his children full grown. But she certainly must have known what she was getting, so it is probably more of a business relationship to her.

      • stella says:

with a ho like brook for a wife I don’t think he has any right to comment about Melania! Maybe she was disinterested with the low class bunch in the table. Brook and her family, really?

    • KWM says:

Can you narrow that he down? 😉
Both are blowhards who love to tell their own stories of supposed greatness and rewrite their own histories.

      • Jwoolman says:

Ha ha. Yes, we do need to start using names instead of pronouns in this story…

    • Esmom says:

I don’t believe anything he says but unlike Trump I do find him weirdly entertaining very occasionally. His comment about Melania made me lol.

  3. Kate says:

All I can muster is a big, fat GROSS.

  4. doofus says:

isn’t that kind of a metaphor for his entire campaign?…

    • Shambles says:

      My thoughts exactly.
This should be what the people of America are expecting if they vote Donald Trump into office. Expecting the sparkly real deal, but you get a cheap fake.

    • isabelle says:

Believe this story because it is trump. Even if Sheen is clouded, sounds exactly like something Trump would do.

    • Tiffany :) says:

      He’s a con man.

  5. Miss Grace Jones says:

I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump did that tbh but how random. The unfortunate thing about Charlie Sheen is that I always knew he was having a psychotic break and needed serious mental help around the time of his tiger blood episode and it was always sad to me everyone was laughing at it especially in retrospect knowing he had contacted HIV.

Now however he has done nothing but hurt other people for his own selfish reasons especially people society finds disposable like sex workers and other drug addicts he’s possibly infected. And who knows what’s going to happen to his twins.

  6. Dangles says:

Interesting. I also thought about bringing out a line of condoms. I was going to call them “Peace Condoms” The slogan would be: ‘ I Cum in Peace”

    • Boxy Lady says:

Oh Dangles, I *love* that idea. You gotta do tie dye print on the wrappers 😉

  7. Rapunzel says:

It’s absolutely vile how many chances this a-hole gets. He’s beyond gross. I do think the Trump story is true though. Those were probably cheap cuff links from one of his casino gift shops. I can see him doing this.

    • lower-case deb says:

or even samples he managed to get from cufflink manufacturers to see which one he would contract for the gift shop.

    • boredblond says:

Casino gift shop cufflinks ..actually makes sense. ..the thing is, they both lie and both seem to actually believe their own lies despite facts that disprove them. I just can’t believe anyone still gives Sheen air, and can listen with a straight face.

    • holly hobby says:

Yeah I believe this story. Charlie may be a jerk and a liar about other matters but this is basically a harmless story and I don’t see why he would lie. I do think he left out why his property was getting appraised. I suspect they needed cash for drugs.

      • Jwoolman says:

Yeah, I don’t think Charlie is a chronic liar. He may lie for a specific purpose or simply be too addled to remember what happened at times, but this story and his comments about Trump’s wife do have that ring of truth.

  8. susanne says:

I think he is the worst. Addiction and mental illness can cause one to behave poorly, but it goes way, way beyond with charlie. I feel for him on a certain level, and at the same time recognize he is a total narcissist who will hurt anyone he comes into contact with.
On a lighter note, the gifs of kittens with his quotes are the best thing ever. Years later and I still find joy in that crazy.
I’ll try to get the link, but if someone is quicker and smarter….

    • susanne says:

      Check it out:
      https://mediumlarge.wordpress.com/2011/02/24/cats-quote-charlie-sheen/
I hope that works, and that it’s ok to do.

      • susanne says:

This would be even better with Donald Trump’s pearls of wisdom.
I have the day off today, and am not skilled with the interwebs, but I think I have found a project!

      • Jwoolman says:

Omigosh- Charlie really is a cat. Hedonistic to the core, thinks he’s God.

I dearly love the little motor reflex killers (as my uncle fondly called them), but have no illusions about the fluffy purring wee beasties. Of course, my current feline roommates are exceptions. Well, at least one of them. Usually. If I don’t aggravate him too much.

    • Brittney B. says:

…and addiction/substances and mental illness are so often used to justify the actions of violent upper/middle-class (mostly white) men. Whether they rape a woman or massacre dozens, I only see “mental illness” used as an excuse when the perpetrator is a guy like Charlie.

The same is happening with Johnny Depp; my own family members are saying how “intense” he is, and how he needs help.

ANYWAY, I agree. Mental illness is serious and it’s important to understand that it takes many shapes and forms. But mental illness usually results in being victimized, stigmatized, and deprived of equal opportunities… not in hurting other people. Personal accountability is still important, especially when you have access to so many resources and your story is shaping national dialgoues about it.

  9. Jacqueline says:

So what is Johnny Depp on that he looks like the undead and Sheen still looks like an actual person with teeth.

    • Tate says:

I wonder if Charlie is sober(ish) right now. There are pictures out there where he looks as bad as Depp, right down to the rotting teeth.

    • Lindsay says:

Johnny looks like he has meth mouth. Charlie could have veneers and constant dry mouth wouldn’t damage them. Grinding would also be less of a problem.

  10. Girlygirl says:

Maybe Trump knew he was a failure. I wish Charlie the best and hope he can use his health problems to inspire people to have safe sex.

  11. NotSoSocialButterfly says:

    Pig.

  12. Jade says:

So now we believe Charlie sheen ? A proven liar, drug addict , and women abuser? It’s a little disconcerting that the political situation in our country is so divisive that the media is blowing up this story coming from this man. Charlie’s just another junkie , and junkies lie! I’m no Trump fan , but come on …,

  13. Lindsay says:

Regarding Melania, she was in the New York Post and the Daily Mail because Trump has hired advisors to turn her into the modern day Jacqueline Kennedy. Like Jackie she speaks multiple languages, that was referenced often and seemed to be their jumping off point. Which is odd to say the least. People were impressed by Jackie’s how accomplished, well educated, and articulate she was. The fact she spoke several languages was a reflection of that, not THE reason people found her impressive.

    http://nypost.com/2016/06/19/is-melania-trump-a-21st-century-jackie-o/

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3649708/Trump-promote-Melania-Jackie-O-21st-century.html

She has said her First Lady role models are/would be Jackie and Betty Ford. So the comment that she is very sweet and very pretty but doesn’t talk is interesting. Although if someone just sits there and doesn’t speak how can you gauge their personality enough to say they are sweet. Given where she is from and who she is married to I doubt she fits into the United State’s definition of sweet. She seems tough and a bit stand offish and cold. Some of that I would imagine is due to cultural differences. All though Jackie’s background also wasn’t about being open and warm either.

Anyways, the Cleveland convention is being planned to “launch” her and make her into the modern day Jackie O, should be interesting. Trump also hired people from The Apprentice to make the Republican Convention entertaining. He hopes to get the ‘highest ratings in any convention in modern television history,’ another Trump source said. Because of course he does. Why not turn the convention the Republican Party uses to pick and announce their Presidential nominee into a reality show? And strive for tremendous, HUGE ratings to appease Trump’s massive ego.

Barely relevant but when the NRA thinks your statement was to pro-gun it may be time to step back and reevaluate. These are the people who want all teachers to be armed.

    • holly hobby says:

He hired Erin from the Apprentice. If I recall Erin, had the unfortunate hots for him. She always looked like she was fawning all over DT. Gross I know.

Melania as Jackie O? OMG don’t make me laugh. Melania always looked vacant. There’s nothing there there! Jackie was smart and very articulate.

    • JenniferJustice says:

I think Charlie’s interpretation is a quiet woman equal a sweet woman. You know, submissive and all. Gross!!!

    • isabelle says:

Really don’t think Malania is anywhere close to how dumb some outlets and people have painted her. However she married into super wealth and wealth will end dictating your every single behavior as a woman when you basically are bought and paid for honestly. You wil lend being a trained lapdog. She is probably controlled all the way down to when she speaks and what she gets to say out loud.

    • Jwoolman says:

Michelle Obama should be on her list also, but I suppose she can’t do that because her husband is busy demonizing the Obamas….

  14. lucy2 says:

Ugh. Team No One in this mess.

In general whatever Sheen says is garbage, but I’d be willing to believe this story. USA Today recently ran a story about all the small business owners he’s screwed over with his construction projects (heard about that second hand from some of the people he ripped off in my area) and he’s all flash, no substance. I have no trouble believing he’s handing out fakes.

  15. MC2 says:

I hate this guy and was so angry when I saw his interview on tabloids yesterday like he was some educator. I am glad you covered this with this info about him & his horrible (criminal) behavior. He is such a pos.
Damn- that last line of this article. It shows how he views women- they are not people, they are ‘they’- a group of things that can be defined by the actions of a few. He sees women as objects that don’t even have the RIGHT to know that they are having sex with a HIV positive man because one of them extorted him for money earlier. WTF?!?! So….he is a victim once again. And it is HIS RIGHT to have sex with women- if they would say no or extort him, then he has the right to lie about his HIV status. GTFO! This guy is the poster child for an 80’s Cusak movie villian.
*Why can I not use caps with typing about Charlie*

  16. Zuzus Girl says:

He is so repulsive I can’t even read the article.

  17. Donna says:

I thought it kind of telling that Graham Norton interviewed him by himself, and not with the cast of the new Ghostbusters who were also on the show, (Graham usually has group interviews with all his guests) and that they served him water. (Guests usually get their favourite alcoholic drink -but not always.) It may have been that Charlie was pressed for time so Graham interviewed him first, but I was kind of wondering if the women didn’t want to be interviewed with him, or maybe the producers were being cautious in case Charlie detonated.

  18. iheartgossip says:

When Sheen is calling you out, it’s a bad, bad day!! hahaha

  19. JenniferJustice says:

Are we just suppose to forget everything this pig monster has done because now he is HIV positive and so….sympathy….and according to his father, a “hero” for talking about it?

I do not give one f–k what Charlie Psycho Sheen has to say on any subject or about any person. So, now there is a man out there running for President whom many can’t stand, and Charlie’s jumping on the bandwagon to get on the majority’s side? Nope! Shut up! You have nothing important to say, nothing that matters. You’re still a pig monster but now you happen to be HIV positive. You gave it to people either intentionally or because you just didn’t give a crap. The only thing that stopped you was the threat of a victim coming forward. Shut your mouth. Take a seat. Live quietly out of the spotlight and spend your last days reflecting…by yourself…and for once, keep your thoughts to yourself.

    • isabelle says:

Sheen’s skeeviness still doesn’t downplay Trumps godawful run for this country. Both are intolerable quacks but one is running for the President.

    • Jwoolman says:

Some people are destined to serve as bad examples…. Have to admit his bad behavior and obnoxious attitudes have stimulated a lot of discussion about important topics.

Charlie has always provided interesting interviews when he’s in his right mind. And he’s a mixed bag, I think that’s why so many people have mixed feelings about him. He can be very generous and kind, then he starts threatening his young daughter and ex …. I think his most atrocious behavior occurs when he is obviously having problems controlling his mental health issues, though, which is another reason people have mixed feelings. Completely sober and properly medicated Charlie may still have some poor attitudes, but he’s a kinder, gentler guy.

    • Jwoolman says:

I should mention that I’ve seen how greatly people can change for purely physiological reasons – my brother is a whole different person during a low blood sugar moment, and he changed so much when properly treated for bipolar decades ago. He still has some bad coping mechanisms from the years of being untreated. But how would he have developed if not struggling with that since puberty? So I tend not to be so absolute when dealing with people who have such problems. Alcohol and other drugs are often used to self-medicate, which makes things worse.

Understanding where the bad behavior is coming from is not the same as accepting the bad behavior. It just reminds us that but for the grace of lucky physiology, that might be us.

    • Kitten says:

ITA. I have hated this guy forever and I don’t plan on changing my stance.

    • JenniferJustice says:

I disagree. He uses “mental illness” to excuse his lust for abusing and controlling. He didn’t just drink alcohol. He used coke and meth ad nauseum. He didn’t even talk about being bi-polar until he got in trouble. He’s been assuatling women for decades and you’re just making excuses for him. I’ve known plenty of people challenged with mental illness. Some take their meds. Some don’t. Some do sometimes and other times don’t. I’ve never known any of them to pull the crap that this guy has. He is sadistic. And frankly, I don’t care if the pleasure he gets from hurting others is due to mental illness or not. A sadist is a sadist and if he’s not a sadist, I don’t know what is. Don’t pull the “poor sick Charlie” sad story with me.

  20. Redgrl says:

Or maybe his equally drugged-up ex wife pawned them and he doesn’t know. Just sayin’….both sheen & trump are evil in their own way, imho.

  21. Jana says:

Just like the 13 million people who thought they were voting for a Presidential candidate, and got a clown instead.
