I genuinely don’t know how to feel about Jason Bourne, the fifth Bourne-branded film and fourth with Matt Damon as Bourne. It does feel slightly Die Hard-y, like “seriously, this guy still has a grudge?” But I am looking forward to the promotion, mostly for the fashion from Alicia Vikander. These are photos from last night’s London premiere, with the primary cast all showing up… except for the human embodiment of Grumpy Cat, Tommy Lee Jones.
For the premiere, Vikander wore Louis Vuitton, because of course she did. This gown is from the Resort 2017 collection. Vikander wore LV almost entirely through the awards season, to mixed results (I thought). LV is paying her to model and be a brand ambassador, which is pretty common these days, but most brand ambassadors find a way to mix up their wardrobe and occasionally wear other designers too. My point is that much like Jennifer Lawrence’s contract with Dior, I don’t think Vikander’s association with LV has been the best thing. While I don’t hate this gown – I think the bottom half is sort of interesting, actually – I’m really not enjoying it either. You know why? Upper boob ruffles. Nope. Something nice: I like her hair.
Julia Stiles is an original cast member returning to the franchise with what seems to be a bigger role this time around. Can I just say? I really like Stiles. I think she seems like a pretty normal person and I enjoy when she pops up somewhere. Stiles wore this Rubin Singer gown which is okay. Her body looks great, but it feels too Vegas-y to me. Oh, and I’m also including photos of Matt Damon with his wife Luciana, of course. I don’t have the ID on her dress. It looks a bit like Versace but probably isn’t.
One last thing: Vikander talked a little bit about Michael Fassbender during a TV interview Monday morning. She basically said that she’s been working so much, she’s barely spent any time with her family or Fassy in the past few months. Fassy was not at the premiere from what I’ve seen.

So true. It’s either a baby or a vixen (Met Gala). In Korea she wore a very similar white gown with breast ruffles in … blue! Julia Stiles rocks! Curiously, not a single photo of Julia interacting with Alicia, they look rather apart, not chummy at all.

Luciana Damon usually looks lovely and dresses appropriately for the occasion. This dress is bright, yes, but maybe she was going for “midsummer bright.” She’s not an actress, not the celebrity here, and is a good sport for escorting her husband to so many PR events.

She had a very nice, red gown on at the last premiere, I think it was either in Australia or in Korea. Here she looks like a hot mess but still quite an attractive woman (let’s not forget she has 4 kids!).

Came here to say the same thing. I fall asleep just looking at her. She seems like a perfectly nice person but whenever I see her I think she’s a pre-school teacher who won a makeover contest.
OMG…. Every time someone talks her up, I stare at her trying to get what it is they’re talking about. She’s pretty, but lacks charisma for days!!!! She’s oatmeal. she doesn’t have an interesting look about her. She’s just a pretty girl, with nice posture…. I guess. I find her acting is so low energy (I hate that I use that term so much) and lacks inspiration.
I keep blinking to make sure I am not missing out but either I am blind or I just don’t get it. She doesn’t make me want to go to the cinema to see whatever she is in.
And I will go see anything she’s in. I’ve never seen a Bourne film but I’ll see this one for AV. Never saw Tomb Raider with Angie but I’ll see this one for Alicia. I think she’s been great in every film I’ve seen her in and I’ve seen every one since A Royal Affair. I like her look and her style and her way of presenting herself. As said above, different strokes…..

Simple hairstyle, minimal make-up, I like that, but mostly I meant the way she carries herself. I don’t give a flip about RC styles, although she did have the best dress at the Oscars.

She looks kind of horrified to be posing next to a woman who isn’t a size 0. Julia looks BANGING though, I love when she pops up somewhere to! I wish she could have realized her dream of producing and starring in an adaptation of The Bell Jar.
I think Alicia would look more sophisticated and mature with a lob- the long hair just doesn’t do it for me.

Luciana Damon is not a celebrity nor has she ever expressed or exhibited a desire to ‘be’ a celebrity. Should we then expect her to dress and spa herself like a celebrity? She’s just a normal attractive woman who happens to be married to Matt Damon.

My daughter isn’t a celebrity, either, but I had her hair done for the 8th grade dance. Everyone one of her friends had their hair styled , also. They looked beautiful and put together.

I’m sure Matty D. is just happy to have Luciana by his side at these events. It looks like he said “Hey, babe. It’s time to go” and she called down from upstairs or by the pool or from one of the kids’ rooms, “Okay! Just let me throw something on and I’ll be right down!” My point is that I don’t think she gives a crap what we think of her, and I love the shite out of that. 🙂

I think the Daily Mail article misquoted her. She said she hadn’t been in London this year for more than six days or so–but neither has Fassbender, who has been filming Alien Covenant in Sydney, where she has also spent a lot of time. The DM had some articles about the two of them together in Sydney a few weeks ago!
I think Alicia is so pretty, she could pretty much wear anything and it would look good. I hate the ruffles too, but I love silver dresses.
Alicia looks good in anything and is able to make that dress happen. Julia’s dress looks like wallpaper but I still like it. Matt Damon’s wife looks kind of pretty here too.
At first I didn’t like it in the shot where she’s standing with Damon and Stiles but the solo shot sold me on Alicia’s dress. She does make it work.
Louis Vuitton makes ugly handbags and terrible dresses. to me, it is the epitome of tastelessness (and really really good marketing). Which make sme think they should totally collaborate with the Kardashians – just as tasteless, just as good at marketing.
But other than those people, nobody should ever be forced to wear a LV dress (or to carry one of their terrible bags).
Cavalli amd Versace are the epitome of tastelessness. LV is ocasionally alright, apart from the bags.
That is true, Versace is terrible as well, but at least they don’t have these terrible bags. Also, I always imagine Versace something that only drag queens would wear (totally not meant as an insult, it’s just that drag queens usually have a more “flamboyant” showstyling than people who just “dress up”).
Cavalli occasionally makes a nice dress (I actually own one, and it’s very simple and brown and nicely cut – so I’m a bit prejudiced)
agreed about cavalli and versace, but current LV and gucci are everything atm. obviously there are weak pieces in every collection and alicia doesn’t seem to pick the best dresses, but in general LV is spot on. adele exarchopoulos always wear LV as well, and she picks lovely dresses (imo anyway, fashion is a question of taste after all…)

designers logo – so vulgar. I think all wearers should be paid to wear items
that have blatant adverts, as wearers become billboards. I think it is so much nicer when people have to ask you “where did you get that bag, etc. I really like it” and you open it up and it reads Marks and Spencers”, haha.

I think that it’ll be a very basic sleeveless-T-shirt type of dress without the ruffles. I like Julia Stiles dress but with a different bottom. I’m often torn with mermaid dresses.
Julia’s dress is a little tacky but i sometimes like tacky and this is one of those times. She looks good.

I like Alicia’s dress. My first thought was it looked like fish scales and the ruffles were gills but the more I looked at it the more I liked it. I would like it without the ruffles too.

Julia Stiles was my teen idol! I loved her in the early aughts, and still do. In that first pic, Julia just radiates charisma, and Alicia seems like a shrinking violet in comparison.

I think Alicia gets away with all the ugly stuff LV keeps putting her in because she is fit and looks pretty, but honestly I’ve yet to see LV give her something nice.
