  1. Don't kill me I'm French says:

Totally OT: The lead actress in the trailer looks like the one thing that I remember in World War Z : the actress who acts one of the doctors .Is she the same actress ?

      • Don't kill me I'm French says:

        Thank you .

      • QQ says:

I Adore Ruth Negga, I’m only watching preacher on AMC for her fashion steeze, she looks so Beautiful and unique and old timey and modern all in one

… Tho to be fair im also watching for that skeezy ass Dominic Cooper, he is so sexy , is a problem, then I found the reason they are dripping with Chemistry is that they live together LOL

      • mia girl says:

QQ – you just blew my mind. I had no idea they were together.

      • QQ says:

oh Mia Girl, from what I always hear it was a Sketch start too like he was still with Amanda? but then is Amanda so who even knows …at this point in time all I can give her is kudos for Finn and her prettiness and the hope she is having Open relationships cause…well, I feel no way about her

      • TeamAwesome says:

WHAT?! She is so drop dead gorgeous. I love her in Preacher, even though I can’t quite get on board for the rest of the show.

      • detritus says:

She’s so awesome as Buttercup. I just looked them up recently and was surprised they were together too, in a good way.

As for the casting.. I love Cassidy. Not sure about Dominic as Preacher though.

      • Bex says:

Aye, it seems like he was with Ruth, then Amanda, then back to Ruth or something like that and it was sketchy all round: http://www.laineygossip.com/Ruth-Negga-in-first-trailer-for-Loving–based-on-the-true-story-of-Richard-and-Mildred-Loving/44373

She’s beautiful and a great actress. It’s been said elsewhere, but somebody needs to write her a Josephine Baker biopic

      • Kitten says:

She’s so great on Preacher. I too had no idea she was with Dominic. Sexy couple.

      • Mira says:

Negga and Cooper fell in love when they were doing a play at the national theatre in london, they been together for a long time now. But yes apparently he was still involved with Seyfried but theirs was a very on and off relationship so its not clear what actually was the story there.

    • Maire3 says:

Yes, the actress Ruth Negga was the WHO doctor in WWZ.

She was also in the film Jimi: All is by My Side. A wonderful actress – the trailer for Loving hints at another great performance. Would love to see her in more stuff.

    • lilacflowers says:

She was also Raina on Agents of SHIELD

  2. Lilacflowers says:

Pokemon Go players, WATCH WHERE YOU ARE GOING!!!

    • Jwoolman says:

I can’t play Pokemon Go because I never go anywhere…. Am lucky if I manage to get to the grocery store across the street once every week or so and it barely gets a phone signal inside its walls. Will have to stay old school with some Gameboy versions. I think I have a couple of those somewhere in the clutter. They finally ran out of precious metals and gems for naming them, I guess.

It does sound like a lot of fun. Love the fact that a pink Clefairy named LoveIsLove is controlling the Westboro Baptist Church Gym. Will they organize a protest against themselves?

  3. menlisa says:

Calvin Harris is going off on Twitter!!

  4. LolaBones says:

Im still salty pokemon go servers are still down at my island.
Yall have all the fun! 😢

  5. Krista says:

I’m not crying, YOURE crying! Dang that trailer gave me all the feels. I hope this movie is as good as it looks. Thier story deserves it.

    • Rachel says:

I think I definitely have to watch this one when it comes out on DVD. That has serious ugly cry potential.

      • Kiki says:

I will rather watch “Loving” than watch that stupid movie called “the Light between Oceans”. I will definitely cry for “Loving” , this is a true love story.

    • Tiffany :) says:

I haven’t had a chance to watch the trailer, but I just now realized it is about Loving v. Virginia!!! WOW!! I am so excited to see their story on the big screen. What an important moment in history.

      SCOTUS:
“Marriage is one of the “basic civil rights of man,” fundamental to our very existence and survival…. To deny this fundamental freedom on so unsupportable a basis as the racial classifications embodied in these statutes, classifications so directly subversive of the principle of equality at the heart of the Fourteenth Amendment, is surely to deprive all the State’s citizens of liberty without due process of law. The Fourteenth Amendment requires that the freedom of choice to marry not be restricted by invidious racial discrimination. Under our Constitution, the freedom to marry, or not marry, a person of another race resides with the individual and cannot be infringed by the State.”

  6. bcgirl says:

Is that a working title? “Loving”?
    cause, it sucks.

  7. Tash says:

I love Joel Edgerton…he’s a suburb actor. Ruth Negga in Preacher is who I want to be when I grow up. Love them both!

    • Roxane says:

It was apreciated by the critics at the Cannes film festival. So yes major Oscar contender.

      • Elle says:

But people always get excited about films at Cannes and then very often nothing happens. The festival is so early in the year. Remember Beasts of No Nation and Inside llewyn Davis, The Wind that Shakes the Barley, The Tree of Life…Because the academy wants to avoid an all-white year Ruth Negga might get a nod, but Idris didn’t last year so who knows.

    • Sam says:

He’s also a director! He directed The Gift, which is a really interesting film. Worth seeing.

      • Green Is Good says:

The Gift is twisted and BRILLIANT. Can’t say it enough. Bought it and had friends watch it, and they agree. Not to be missed.

    • Samtha says:

Ruth Negga is amazing in everything she does.

    • Maire3 says:

If you haven’t seen ‘The Midnight Hour’, the DVD is out. Joel is paired with Michael Shannon & it is a very interesting film which is directed by Jeff Nichols – the man behind the movies ‘Take Shelter’ and ‘Mud’.

      • Tash says:

The Midnight Hour is on my “to watch list”…and The Gift. Have you seen Wish You Were Here? Also a great movie.

      • Maire3 says:

@Tash. No, I did not know about ‘Wish You Were Here’. I just peeped the trailer. Initially thought it looked corny, but then it turned into thriller territory. Thanks for the tip

An early Edgerton film worth watching, “Animal Kingdom”. Jacki Weaver earned an Oscar nom for her chilling performance.

Edit: Another Edgerton must see, ‘The Square’

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Maire3, they just made Animal Kingdom into a TV series with Ellen Barkin and I can’t watch because the Jacki Weaver film is seared in my memory. Guy Pearce is in it too

      • Maire3 says:

@Lilac: Ben Mendelsohn is also part of the ensemble.
A TV adaptation makes me squirm because the musical dialect is what makes the delivery all the more menacing.
        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvZk0rzVeBw

As doubtful as I was about the adaptation of ‘Fargo’, it worked most likely because the Coens were involved. (ETA) This adaptation might not capture that lightning in a bottle that Fargo did.

      • HeidiM says:

Also Warrior with Tom Hardy, and actually the best part of the film IMHO

    • Bridget says:

I find him so weirdly sexy

  8. Bitchy architect says:

    Omg. That Lieve Schreiber bit-hilarious.
    He is solo hot!

  9. Sam says:

As 1.) the product of an interracial marriage, 2.) the wife in an interracial marriage and 3.) the mother of mixed kids, I seriously cannot wait to see this movie. There are so, so many relationships that happened because of this case. It’s really hard to estimate the impact these two people had on changing the landscape in America, and so few people know about them. Hopefully, this movie can work to change that.

Also, this is a dramatization based on a really excellent HBO documentary, called the Loving Story. See that if you want a full primer on the case.

    • Norman Bates' Mother says:

I’m neither of those, but I cannot wait either. I try to imagine what I’d do in their position and I’d probably just chicken out and would rather live a miserable life without a person I loved than fight such a long and hopeless fight. They were so brave and inspiring that even my cold, movie-romance hating self will ugry cry watching this. A true love story.

    • Bridget says:

I find both actors to be really charismatic and compelling.

  10. pikawho? says:

The Tiddles demograpic can have Outlander. Sophie Skelton’s horrible acting RUINED the finale. If she doesn’t get replaced, I think I’m going to be done with the show. The storyline only gets crazier from here on out and good acting will be the difference between “scifi historical drama” and “telenovela in Scotland”

And I remember listening to a radio story (on NPR?) about the Lovings and it made me cry so hard I had to pull over my car. That plus Ruth Negga? I’m sold!

    • Valois says:

Have you read the books? Because I’ve seen a lot of book fans saying that she was spot on with Bree who’s an annoying brat in the first five books or so.
I haven’t read the books but I found her performance disappointing as well.

      • pikawho? says:

I have read the books, and yes Bree is meant to be a brat. My problem wasn’t in her characterization but completely with her acting. She seemed completely awkward in front of the camera: her line readings were like someone was holding a cue card out of frame, she seemed unsure of what to do with her hands and how to stand, would change volume in the middle of a word etc I watched some Youtube videos of other stuff she’s done to see if this was just a fluke — but no, she is equally wooden and awkward in prior roles.

I’ve seen people making excuses for her that she’s 22 and doesn’t have many credits, maybe she’ll get better with practice blah blah She’s an adult professional hired to play a part. I’m not willing to watch someone learn on the job, the same way I wouldn’t enjoy being brought burnt food at a restaurant and being told that the chef is in his early twenties and why can’t I be a little more forgiving? 😛

  11. Stacy says:

And just what is wrong with those swim trunks Dornan is sporting? Are we supposed to believe Christian Grey would wear a speedo? As for Edgerton, I see him the way I see Vera Farmiga, very good at acting, chooses really good roles in movies I like, once in a while makes a stinker. For Joel, it was that Christian Bale/Moses movie. We’ll see about this one.

  12. Jwoolman says:

Amy Schumer’s calf implants for the win! The hashtags alone are worth the time to click: #prettyhurts, #balmain …..

  13. Bobo says:

So excited for Loving! I really hope it opens in Canada.

  14. Green Is Good says:

Should NOT have watched the trailer for “Loving” before heading into work.

Totally going to buy an actual theater ticket for this.

  15. Dani says:

Joel played Tom Buchanan in Gatsby, right? My mind isn’t playing tricks on me is it? He’s such a good actor.

  16. nitesh says:

    can’t wait for loving!!

  17. CornyBlue says:

I love love love Pokemon Go. I have walked 21.6 miles in the last two days and I didnt even feel it. It has not been officially released here so we are getting only starter pokemon’s but damn if that can curb my enthusiasm.
Loving looks amazing and I hope all the awards journalists who hyped up things like Joy last year without seeing it do the same for this movie and get Ruth Negga a nomination

  18. MonicaQ says:

#TaylorSwiftIsOverParty is trending on black twitter and I’m dying. Seems we have come down on the side of Calvin be it because of Kanye or whatever. WorldStarHipHop is covering the Calvin Clapback too.

    • cherrypie says:

@ Monicaq, what does Taylorswiftisoverparty means?

      • MonicaQ says:

They’re saying the “Taylor Swift is the sweetest and would never hurt a fly” party is over and they’re happy people are “seeing her for how she really is; the perpetual victim”

  19. Mira says:

Ruth Negga is a great actress! Cant wait to see this movie!

  20. Juliette says:

The Tenors fiasco is blowing up in Canada. Check out their Twitter feed, people are livid that he changed the lyrics of our anthem to promote his own personal/political beliefs.

There is a great shot of the 4 of them when he starts singing his part, the other 3 literally look like their saying WTF in their heads.

It’s not the fact that he is saying All Live Matter so much as that he took it upon himself to alter our anthem. Dude is in trouble back at home!

    • Anners says:

He got kicked out of the group! People were/are livid. It was inappropriate, for sure.

  21. Cat87 says:

My boyfriend and I need to go see this movie. Cause we are a black woman and white male interracial relationship. I remember watching the documentary and was completely moved

  22. Smokey says:

For those who thought Margaret Thatcher was too kind hearted I present Theresa May.

  23. Sandy says:

Watched Black Mass this weekend, and I thought Joel Edgerton was the best thing about the movie! Great actor. The Loving documentary was moving also and very worth seeing.
