Lupita Nyong’o truly keeps her romantic life locked down in the media. We heard one or two stories, months later, that Lupita might have had on-set relationships with Michael Fassbender or Chiwetel Ejiofor or both. There was also a widely-held belief that Lupita had something weird with Jared Leto. We also know that at some point that she was dating Somali-Canadian K’Naan back in 2014. I honestly thought Lupita and K’Naan might still have some undercover thing. But according to Us Weekly, Lupita has been seeing someone new for six months and no one knew. The guy is Mobolaji Dawodu and he’s the fashion editor for GQ Style.
Call it a match made in sartorial heaven. Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o has been dating GQ Style fashion editor Mobolaji Dawodu “for six months,” a Dawodu pal reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly. The Kenyan-raised actress, 33, and the tastemaker — his website says he’s “informed the visual language of cosmopolitan life and style for more than a decade” — were introduced through mutual friends in the fashion world, adds the friend.
She and Dawodu, who has a young daughter, are clearly on the same fashion page. In a June 12 Instagram he shared with his nearly 6,000 Instagram followers, they posed in coordinated denim and orange-hued outfits.
Since becoming Instagram official, Dawodu, formerly an editor at Fader magazine, Details and Style.com, has let pals in on his relationship. Says the friend, “He’s discreetly told people they are dating.”

I creeped on it, and there only seems to be two photos of Lupita, but he’s posted lots of photos of his daughter, and he absolutely spent time in Kenya this year, which made me wonder if Lupita brought him to her home country. If this is really happening, then I think Mobolaji and Lupita seem like a good match, at least superficially. He’s tall, beardy, handsome and fashionable. She’s small, beautiful, fashionable and private. Then again, what do we really even know about Lupita’s love life for sure?

Every time I see the name Lupita I say it in Elmo’s voice (from the time she was on Sesame Street). I don’t know why, it just happens. Anyway, this is a super cute pairing (if true) and I’m happy for her.

I’m still LOL at gossip sites trying to match Lupita with Michael Fassbender during their Oscar campaign when she had been been smoothly dating K’Naan all the time. I loved the picture of him carring her Oscar the morning after the parties. This woman keeps her private life, private. Good for her. They look cute.
