Did Sean Penn leave Robin Wright for Natalie Portman?

wenn1890858
Star Magazine is alleging that one of the biggest factors in Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn’s recent separation is none other than Natalie Portman. In mid-March, there was a rumor that Sean and Natalie were caught making out at the Sunset Tower Hotel. This was just a few weeks after Sean had won his second Oscar, for Milk, when he purposely did not thank his wife. Now, Star is pushing the idea that not only were Sean and Natalie getting it on that one night, but they have been engaged in some kind of affair ever since.

There’s a source who is claiming all sorts of crazy things – like Sean is totally enamored with Natalie, that she “stimulates” him… mentally. I’ll bet. Honestly, I wouldn’t put it past Sean to try to hook up with someone like Natalie (young, smart, interesting, beautiful), but Natalie seems like too smart a girl to get involved with Sean. Still, Star makes an interesting case:

Just weeks after Star first broke the news that Sean Penn was caught making out with Natalie Portman at L.A.’s Sunset Tower Hotel, the Oscar winner filed for separation from his wife of 13 years, Robin Wright Penn. Now Star has learned that Sean, 48, and Natalie are still seeing each other!

“She stimulates him in ways no other person has, mentally or professionally,” says a source. “There’s a lot more there with Natalie than any of the other girls Sean’s been with.”

It was Sean’s mid-March indiscretion with Natalie that encouraged Robin, 43, to stop turning a blind eye to her husband’s philandering. “She was furious he was messing around with such a young star,” says an insider. “It made her sickly jealous.”

And with that, she told Sean she’d had enough and expected him to be a faithful husband and father. “She told him how it was going to be,” says the source. “But Sean did it his way and filed. He can be a real jerk like that. This will not be a smooth divorce.”

[During] Dean’s acceptance speech for his Best Actor win for Milk, he failed to mention his long-suffering wife, who sat just a few feet away, crying.

It was in the weeks that followed the award ceremony that Sean first met up with Natalie.

Will Sean be faithful to Natalie? Not likely, says the source. “He’ll still hook up with girls. It’s what Sean always does.”

[From Star Magazine print edition, May 18 2009]

Yes, I could totally see Robin being disgusted by Sean’s womanizing, especially if it’s with someone like Natalie. And I actually see Sean and Robin’s split going down the way Star describes – Robin accuses, gives an ultimatum, Sean balks and walks away from a twenty-year relationship without looking back. It fits with what I think of him – a cold, distant bastard. But was it all about Natalie? At most, I could see a smart girl like Natalie being pulled in by Sean’s obvious (but limited) genius, but she won’t stick around for very long.

So, Natalie Portman’s a home wrecker?

    I think not!

  2. Ka says:

I saw somewhere that Natalie was dating the Brazilian actor Rodrigo Santoro.

  3. Mme X says:

I would like to think Natalie Portman is too smart for this. He, on the other hand, seems like a real jerk. But just for the record, re: the long suffering wife: I watched the Oscars and though I noticed he failed to thank her, I don’t remember seeing her crying. Did anyone else see that? I’m thinking that part is fabricated.

  4. Arvedia says:

    Urgh.

  5. ima says:

I do actualy remember RWP crying quite a bit when he won. When his name was called she practically jumped out of her seat & tried to hug him but he just brushed her off in front of everyone. Also, there’s something about Natalie Portman that rubs me the wrong way. She is very intelligent, no doubt, but I think that she is far from the “good girl” image that surrounds her.

  6. Trillion says:

He doesn’t seem her type, judging from her history.

  7. Borg Queen says:

I love Natalie Portman but I believe this story. She turned down a movie role playing a nun b/c she couldnt fathom the idea of celibacy. Now Natalie is a smart girl. If she couldnt wrap her mind around celibacy, dare I say, she is promiscious. Plus most Hollywood good girls are the furthest from it. They are just great actors, which Natalie is most definitely.

  8. Katie says:

I agree 100% with you ima, I do think shes obviously smart, but I am almost certain there is more to her that shes hiding. I don’t think shes the angel she wants everyone to think she is.

  9. Boom says:

Sean is one of the best actors out there but outside of acting he exudes “jackassness”. He just seems like a total jerkwad or go as far as call him an assh*le.

Robin Wright and Natalie Portman deserve better than this guy. (just my opinion)

  10. Wow says:

    That would just be yucky.

  11. bc says:

A friend of mine met Natalie in Israel. He said she was the “friendly” type if I ain’t being too subtle…

  12. aaaaaaaaanyway says:

Natalie could be dating Rodrigo Santoro AND getting it on with Sean Penn. It’s not hard to believe. Stop acting like you all personally know her and know what she is or isn’t capable of. She could be as dirty as they come (not judging) in her relationships but playing up the sweetheart image in public.

  13. kiki b says:

Doesn’t make Natalie a homewrecker because Sean Penn is an idiot. he is, however, an obvious idiot. I hope she can see what’s obvious in that photo of the two of them– she’s a radiant, incredible young talent and he’s dying a jew-fro an awkward shade of red so he can keep prowling around on his wife. Fail.

  14. flourpot says:

@Borg Promiscuous is all in the definition 🙂 And even smart girls get horny. Lust can make you do really dumb things. But we’ll see..

  15. JoGirl says:

Methinks Natalie has a bit of Evan Rachel Wood in her. Too bad!

  16. lisa says:

That is just nasty on her part. She can get the hottest guy in town, why pick this hot mess?

  17. capitanne says:

Sean Penn is not a genius. Like all rabid liberals who suck off the system they hate, he’s a nut case. Sean Penn cannot justify the fact that he makes millions for chewing the scenery while his “brethren” are picking lettuce for a few dollars a week. So he bends over for Hugo Chavez while trashing America. Natalie Portman’s Harvard education sure didn’t make her smart if she’s hot for a shrivelled-up insane midget.

  18. me says:

All I have to say about Natalie Portman is that something is shady about her. Does anyone remember when Lindsay Lohan went on Ellen a few weeks ago and said that Natalie and her are reeeeaaallly goood friends?

  19. Rosanna says:

Good! I don’t like any of them and I love RWP. It’s about time she starts dating somebody with a brain and manners 🙂

  20. Katharine Jaynes says:

    Robin > Natalie

    In my opinion…

  21. rarahrarah says:

fucking rumours. the same rumor thing happened abt 2 years ago.. how he “cheated” on robin with petra nemcova. 🙄

  22. hotmilfchocolate says:

    wtf?

from princess buttercup to princess amidala?!

later for the princesses sean, and go back to the queen.

    queen madonna that is.

oops, no can’t…you’re about 30 years to OLD for her now. *giggle*

    burn!

  23. j. ferber says:

Dare I say he’ll have his affair with Portman, and then go back to Robin again, who will forgive him, and the whole cycle can begin again. I believe their entire relationship has been this way, from the very beginning when he had 2 kids with her and wouldn’t marry her for the longest. He repudiates her, goes on his sex binge, and then comes back. Vile man.

  24. barneslr says:

“Sean Penn is not a genius. Like all rabid liberals who suck off the system they hate, he’s a nut case.”

    Amen to that.

  25. Ashyla says:

I’m so tired of hearing people characterize Natalie as smart and intelligent, just because she went to Harvard. Anyone with money can buy an education there. Have you ever heard her actually speak? Her “lecture” at Yale to promote “V for Vendetta” was widely ridiculed.

    My opinion–
    Beautiful: Yes
    Good Actress: No
    Intelligence: Average.
    Boring good girl: Resounding Yes.

  26. Samantha says:

The problem with good actors/actresses is just that – They are good at acting! So you never know how anyone really is, because they get paid to pretend. I don’t trust any images I have of any actors/actresses. Unless you know them personally (and I am going to go out on a limb here and assume most people don’t) you can’t just trust what you see on tv and in interviews.

  27. Jules says:

I’d like to bring up the fact that Natalie Portman is not 17 but a full grown woman. She doesn’t try to “portray” a good girl image because she is not a girl. Why is it that a man can have sex with as many women as he wants and that’s fine but a woman has to pretend to be a virgin or else she’s a whore? She has sex and plenty of it I hope, with some really hot guys. Until someone has proof of this supposed affair, get off of your judgment soapboxes.

  28. Ggirl says:

Ditto on pretty much everything. Except that Sean Penn looks like his face has been permanently punched in by someone’s fist which, if this did happen, he deserved it! He must have something below the waste to put a spell on these women because I sure don’t see or hear anything attractive coming from this guy!

  29. sonia says:

I thought she was having an affair with Brad Pitt

  30. j. ferber says:

I don’t think his politics play into his adultery at all. I believe they are two separate issues.

  31. Raven says:

Ah, Ashyla, smart= intelligent, so no need to say it twice. It is difficult to get into Harvard. Natalie’s parents are bright and hardworking and so was she. A Harvard degree is more than most Hollywood celebrities can claim or could even accomplish.

People are also remembering interviews she gave when she was much younger and assuming she hasn’t changed. Her parents were protective, but she’s an adult now and living her own life.

Intelligence doesn’t always translate into emotional maturity. If she was protected and sheltered as a young person, she may be rebelling now and making stupid mistakes sometimes.

I never thought of Robin Wright Penn as that bright although she gets kudos as a very good actor, too. Clearly, she isn’t emotionally mature either, if she keeps taking Sean back. And I’m with those who think she will again.

  32. kathleen says:

    I just don’t see her with him…YIKES!

  33. ChristinaT says:

i think some of the stuff i saw portman do in that movie “closer” tainted my image of her… that’s all i know about her though so *shrug*.

however, i’d think she’d be smart enough to stay away from this jackass… well, i’d hope this from pretty much any woman actually.

  34. Roxann says:

Sean Penn is just a JERK. Always has been……….always will be. Yes, I think he is a good actor but as far as being a good person? Forget it!!!I hope Robin realizes that this is her way out of this relationship with him. Run Robin Run!! And Natalie, take a good close look at what you are about to get into!~Yuck!!

  35. JUDY says:

Well good for this little tramp, she managed to break up an already crappy marriage. Robin needs to go to lunch with the all most EX Mrs Gibson and discuss how they will take these 2 morons to the cleaners. Portman is another flash in the pan and she knows it so she needs a ric h man to take care of her lol ANd here he is..Mr Penn..no fool like and old fool..

  36. Ella says:

I really do hope she is smart enough to avoid this situation.

  37. missmoneypenny says:

Hmm. I agree that something doesn’t seem right with Natalie. I used to think she seemed quite okay and down to earth. Then I happened to see her on Actor’s Studio and had to stop watching after a few minutes because she came across as pretentious, silly and narcissistic. It actually weirded me out.

  38. kai says:

I want this to be true. What does that say about me?

  39. Lolainchesaway says:

According to my friend who worked on The Practice when Jack Nicholson and Lara Flynn Boyle dated the storey is that him and Johnny Depp and Sean Penn went to Russia and partied hiring 16 year old Russian hookers. SO Sean Penn doing Natalie Portman totally believable and him a cokehead party boy believable…

  40. jess says:

i sincerely hope this isn’t true.

  41. nowhere man says:

Kaiser, there are so many typo’s in this story, it is disturbing that you actually write for this site.

  42. jayem says:

I have NEVER understood everyone’s fascination with NP. She is pretty, but they hail her as the second coming. It would not surprise me at all if her good girl image is just that – an image, manufactured.

Oh, and Kaiser, I didn’t notice any typos, so…

  43. KansasGirl says:

These people actually believe they are special. I don’t see it.

  44. Trashaddict says:

    SuperPrincess, say it isn’t so!

  45. Mel says:

Sean Penn is an a$$. When they were praising him at the Oscars as a good person, I nearly choked. His politics suck, he is a chronic drug user and cheater. Good actor, but that’s about where the good begins and ends. I can totally see him going for Natalie. But, while I agree that she isn’t as good girl and nice as she appears, I can’t see her ruining her image for a fling with Sean Penn.

  46. Hieronymus Grexx says:

    Creepy.

  47. Howdy I?m so delighted I determined your net site, I essentially located out you by mistake, although I had been trying to find on Yahoo for a single point else, Anyways I?m correct here now and would just desire to say thank you for any good release as well as a all spherical entertaining web site (I also have the benefit of the theme/design), I really do not have time to go by implies of all of it inside the moment but I?ve bookmarked it as well as additional your RSS feeds, so when I’ve time I is going to be rear to look at a great deal more, Please do hold up the wonderful work

  48. Thanks for your publication. I would also like to remark that the very first thing you will need to complete is determine whether you really need credit score improvement. To do that you must get your hands on a copy of your credit score. That should never be difficult, since government mandates that you are allowed to obtain one absolutely free copy of your own credit report per year. You just have to inquire the right persons. You can either look at website with the Federal Trade Commission as well as contact one of the major credit agencies straight.
