Amber Rose wishes she could masturbate every day for glowing skin

Amber Rose has been getting some really interesting brand-endorsements and modeling gigs lately. Her latest is a collaboration with Flirt Cosmetics, a very mainstream cosmetics company which, surprisingly, isn’t asking Amber to change whatsoever. Amber is actually a pretty good brand ambassador for whatever you want: she gives great interviews, she’s thoughtful, and she’s able to integrate her brand with whichever brand she’s representing. To promote this collaboration, Amber chatted with Allure to talk about makeup and… masturbation. Yay.

Her latest project: I still have no idea why [Flirt Cosmetics] even wanted me! I thought they were going to come in and say, “Hey, can you grow your hair out? Cover your tattoos up?” Instead it was “We love your buzz cut. We love all your tattoos. We love your feminism. We’re obsessed with your SlutWalk.” They embraced me for me. And that’s what makes them extra cool.

Her lash love: I have very small eyes, so lashes open them up. That’s always been my thing. I was super excited when I heard about the amazing eyelash applicator from Flirt.

Her lawbreaking beauty past: Back in Philly, all my friends were wearing dark brown lip liner and lighter brown lipstick. And everybody had their baby hairs, like, plastered down to their forehead. That was the move. We were really poor, and I couldn’t afford the lipstick. So I went into a drugstore and stole one because I had to have it. I stuck it up my sleeve, and I felt really bad—but I did it all in the name of beauty.

Her glowing-skin secret:
Masturbation. I wish I had the time to masturbate every day in reality, but I don’t. I say a lot of those things on [The Amber Rose Show] because I am very sex-positive. I do say those things in a way where I am very serious, but it’s also a joke.

Her go-to scent: I’ve worn Perry Ellis 360 forever. I was wearing that in Philly, and I still wear it now.

Her red carpet regrets: None. I just don’t give a sh-t. I do what I want. Then I put it out in the universe, and people talk. And then they get over it, you know?

[From Allure]

Wouldn’t you love it if other celebrities cited masturbation for their good looks and clear skin? Like, I read those celebrity interviews every day, where some starlet goes “oh, I just drink a lot of water” and “I use so-and-so fancy skin cream.” I want the next starlet to say “I pay a dermatologist thousands of dollars to look like this and I masturbate every day. Boom.” I wonder if there’s actual medical studies to back that up – I mean, I would assume that you would get that release of chemicals from a Big O and you would be happier in general, so… yeah, probably, you would have better skin. Amber is awesome.

Is it weird that my first thought was that it’s unfortunate she just doesn’t have the time?

    • Sam says:

That was my first thought too. Then I thought, “Hell, I can rub one out in 10 minutes. Who doesn’t have 10 minutes?”

      • Justjj says:

It’s true it gives you a glow. Some days I don’t even need 10 minutes. Maybe when you’re 30+ you hit a really horny patch but seriously, the sexual needs increase maybe it’s hormones or something. I LOVE that she said this.

      • Sam says:

Definitely. I’m over 30 and it really does get kicked up a notch, doesn’t it? Maybe that’s why they call it the “dirty 30’s”.

      • AngelaH says:

I’ve been on antidepressants for years and 10 minutes is like a dream!

      • Eleonor says:

I don’t know, probably she wants to do it properly LOL

      • Minnieder says:

        Haha one minute is enough!!

  2. Clare says:

The water thing is totally true, though – at least in my experience.
I went from drinking about a liter a day to between 2-3 liters a day, and I swear it shows on my face.

    • Regina.Phalange says:

TOTALLY. I just turned 30 and am really starting to notice what affects the way I look… I can’t get away with a lot of the thins I used to. Water makes me my skin look dewy and plump- if I don’t drink enough it feels and looks more dry and wrinkles are beginning to show. Water makes me look younger and healthier FOR SURE! I

      • Angelica says:

Girl yes! Turned 30 in April and water has never made as much of a difference as it does now! I’ve upped my water intake and lowered my sugary drinks drastically. Ive adjusted many small things like the sun, sweating, exercise, exposure to smoke and eating certain foods. It’s actually pretty cool how aware you can become when your body tells you things.

      • Justjj says:

Agreed. Caffeine, alcohol, salt, and refined sugar have the same noticeable affects on my skin as well.

  3. Mooncake says:

I love Perry Ellis 360, too! Such a pretty scent!

  4. Sarah says:

I love this woman! I’ve always found her so damn beautiful and womanly. And she seems intelligent in interviews .

    • detritus says:

I don’t know of another celeb where the more I find out, the more I like.
      I love Muva Amber though.

  5. Micki says:

That’s such a sad life – not to have any time to masturbate…even for purely cosmetic reasons…

  6. QueenB says:

if thats true shouldnt teenage boys have the best skin?

  7. Colette says:

Masturbation and 8 hrs of sleep

  8. Melissa says:

So that’s why my skin looks like crap – because I never masturbate…

    • Amanduh says:

Girl….get a vibrator and buzz one (or four) out!!!! When I first did it was like, “What the eff have I been doing with my life???!” Two sick days and a pack of batteries later…

      • Melissa says:

Perhaps I should do so. I have tried literally every technique possible but still can’t manage to get myself off…and I’m 27!! I have never had an orgasm.
Do you have any special vibrator to recommend?

      • Kate says:

Well I’ll chime in with a recommendation! Search Amazon for: “Shibari Mini Halo 20x, Multi-speed, Wireless, Power Wand Massager”.

I’ve tried a couple higher priced ones over the years but this is my favorite and will only cost you 30 bucks. Plus it’s rechargeable so you won’t run through the batteries! Pro tip: try it through your clothes at first to warm yourself up and to figure out what pressure you like best.

      • Melissa says:

Thank you, Kate! Will definitely give it a try!

      • Amanduh says:

I’ve been through about 4 in the last little while, but I don’t know the names of any of them. This is a small one (size of my index finger) but I think any one could do? I remember on Sex and the City they were big on the Rabbit…
A handheld shower head might suffice too. Good luck Melissa!!! Hope you have a wonderful orgasm…it’ll happen bb! It took me a loooong time to get there, but it’ll be worth it <3

  9. TrueStory says:

I’ve heard it’s good for the skin as well. Sexual frustration can cause stress and stress can cause breakouts.

    Regular orgasms create a “glow”.

  10. Colleen says:

There might be something to this. In my late teens one of my ,uh, strangest memories is sitting in a restaurant with my cousin and my grandma, when Granny looked at my cousin’s poor acne-riddled face and said, “Aw Lizzie, if only you were having sex, you wouldn’t have these skin issues!”

It was awkward because it was so out of character for her, but then again, she had downed a few Beefeaters.

  11. HeyThere! says:

She is beautiful. She can pull off a buzz cut, I mean come on! If I wore a buzz cut it-lets just say I don’t have the face for it. Hahah She has such beautiful bone structure and perfect skin.

  12. Kiki says:

This is why I love Amber Rose… she gives really good interviews and she don’t give a f**** what you and anyone thinks. Rihanna is like that but when she is mean to people is when I have a problem with her. Amber Rose seems to be a nice, down-to-earth person and that’s why I really like her.

  13. Anilehcim says:

I love her and everything she stands for. I’m going off topic a bit here, but there is another post on this site today about male allies and one of the biggest reasons that I LOVE Amber is because she has been vocal about raising her son to be an advocate/ally for women. She has spoken on numerous occasions about raising him to not only be the kind of guy who doesn’t engage in that behavior, but the kind of guy who calls out the guys who do talk shit about women and slut shame. I wish we could get more women to do the same. The amount of women I’ve read making excuses for Trump and Bush as simply “men being men” or saying “that’s how guys speak” is really harrowing. No, it isn’t, and sorry but that starts with mothers and fathers. Raise your sons to respect women. Raise them to know better and to do better.

Amber gets a ton of flack and is still repeatedly slut shamed, but I love her and appreciate so much what she’s doing.

    • Colleen says:

I love that man; I could watch and listen to him all day long. He’s never ever steered me wrong when it comes to skin and makeup, and I would check out his endorsements in a heartbeat!

  15. prissa says:

Amber will forever be my girl crush! She’s cool, fun and very relatable. She’s real. I’m SO glad she hasn’t changed who she is, what she represents or tried in the least to conform to industry standards.

    GO AMBER!!!

  16. Angelica says:

I haven’t watched an episode of dancing with the stars in years and I started again this season. Whether she makes it to the finals or not, I love seeing her on the show. She’s not the most graceful dancer or the “strongest ” personality, whatever that means, but I love her vulnerability as far as that goes! She has a damn good time and looks good doing it! She’s really coming into her own.

  17. MellyMel says:

Haha I love it! This, a ton of water, 8 hours of sleep and sunscreen does skin good!

  18. Trixie says:

Wait, we’re just going to ignore the fact that she’s glorifying theft because it’s “all in the name of beauty”?

Also, I’ve seen her on DWTS, she is not as secure in herself as she claims in interviews.

  19. Aubrey says:

I find her advice on love line to “let your freak flag fly! Do whatever the f**** you want!” To be ungrounded and unhelpful, but I like her enough to keep listening.

    • Anon33 says:

Im not really getting why figuring out what you like and don’t like sexually and then owning it is considered “ungrounded”… So one has to be vanilla in the sheets to be “grounded?”
      100% untrue.

    • Alex says:

Dont throw stones while living in glass houses.

  20. DSA says:

Obviously, I’m not a sex scientist and I’m not aware of any medical studies that prove this, but I actually think there’s a truth to this? I remember arriving at class one day, and my friend just said, “DSA! You look lovely and glowing today!” I was just masturbating in the dorm (which was about 5 minutes walking distance away from the faculty) before class. I remember just giggling and thanking her for the compliment. So, yesh, this Amber Rose person is not making it up.

Those school days were always interesting, I remember feeling like Fez from “That ’70s Show” (and being late for class one day because I wasn’t aware of day-light savings—I can’t remember ever being so flustered/horrified/mortified about being late in my life).
