Glamour did their big, annual Woman of the Year event last night and there are about a million photos, most of which I probably will not get to (like, I’m not covering Caitlyn Jenner or Elizabeth Banks). I just want to do the biggest fashion moments and the biggest names at the event. Let’s start with Amber Heard, who was a surprise attendee. Amber wasn’t even recognized by Glamour as one of their WOTY, but she came out to read Emily Doe’s open letter in the Brock Turner/Stanford rape case. This was Amber’s first red carpet since the divorce. She still looks pretty tired and God, I just feel sorry for her. I also hate this cheeseball lace dress by Alessandra Rich.
I’m flat-out laughing at the absurdity of Gwen Stefani’s Marchesa Spring 2017 dress. NO. This is so bad.
I think it’s interesting that Cara Delevingne came out for this event too. Cara and Amber have been spending a lot of time together recently. Watch this space. Cara wore Elie Saab. My inner goth girl sort of loves this.
Freida Pinto in Reem Acra Fall 2016. OMG NO. Jesus!! Freida is, in my mind, one of the most beautiful women in the world. This dress is a tragedy on her. Wrong color, wrong fit, wrong design. It makes her look washed out and flat-chested.
Zendaya in Reem Acra. These sleeves are absurdly hilarious. The dress is just “cocktail waitress” until you get to the sleeves.
Demi Lovato in Zac Posen Spring 2017. Is it wrong that I actually think this is pretty cute on her? I think Demi has some style issues sometimes, but this is flattering and pretty.

But she’s a stunning woman, and I think it’s so powerful that she read Emily Doe’s letter. Especially given what she’s been through.

Amber’s dress is grandma-wants-to-make-me-a-modern-wedding-dress-but-loves-ugly-lace hideous. That makes me sad because I want her to win in every aspect.
Marchesa dresses are always laughable. Even more so is that Georgina Chapman has the nerve to critique up and coming designers on PR:All Stars.
Gwens dress looks like a sooty rework of her Galliano wedding dress.

I was crossing my fingers for Amber’s outfit, but no. Happily, others looked worse… Gwen’s dress looks like an ode to a dying jellyfish.

When Gwen walked the line, she looked like an absolute princess and i loved the back. i haven’t see a picture of it yet that equaled what it moved like.
Amber’s dress isn’t nice. Glad she’s stunning because she makes everything at least half decent looking on her
I agree, she still looks very tired but at least like she’s coming out from hell. Like she’s getting closer and closer to reach the light at the end of the tunnel.
But what she read was so powerful, she showed a lot of courage too, like the victim she was representing

PS: Next step, to find a nice person who loves and protects her. There must be a row of people already waiting outside her door to get her on a date (starting for the billionaire, if he’s still waiting for his chance with her and many people more)

OMG! Have all designers lost their minds or are they just out of ideas? Jeez, every one above except maybe Demi looks laughably bad, like they’re all being punk’d or something. Amber and Gwen both need glasses of they think they look good. Hideousness galore! (I would have loved to see Bono at this event as he too was nominated as an honorary woman by Glamour this year).
I would kill to have Amber’s figure. Even in that monstrosity of a dress that’s what comes through. She looks pretty.
Saw a clip of her doing the reading of the Stanford rape victim’s letter, she got a bit choked up during some of her parts. I’m glad to see her out in public and participating in events like this.
Lena Dunham also very moving in her introduction, describing how she was abused by alt-right Breitbart regulars after her sexual assault reveal. Made a direct point about Steve Bannon and his role. Get him please.
That’s pretty awful. There’s no excuse considering she’s got lots to work with.
On another note, the only part of Gwen Stefani’s face that moves anymore when she talks is her bottom lip. The rest is frozen in time.
