What is this? Her third attempt at a singing career? Obviouisly she can’t take a hint.
I don’t like country music but I wonder how country music fans and country stars who started there feel when failed pop stars turn to country when they bomb in every other genre.

Country music stars bitch about other country music stars who are from New Jersey (e.g. Mary Chapin Carpenter), so I agree they wouldn’t take kindly to this. On the other hand, if someone has the talent to do it (like Mary Chapin Carpenter, who really is an exquisite song writer–I’ve even taught her song “This Shirt” in a high school ESL class), then they should just go for it and ignore all the criticism.

nobody wants some hasbeen (or in Jennifer’s case - a never was) pop “singer” using country music as a last desperate attempt at a singing career. it’s as if she’s saying country music fans are a bunch of hillbilly idiots who would buy into anything. well, they defiantly didn’t buy Jessica Simpson’s country act.
