Guess who makes a cameo in ‘Thor: Ragnarok’? You’ll never guess.

New York premiere of 'The Tick'

SPOILERS (??) for Thor: Ragnarok.

Did we already know this? I assume the Marvel fanboys and fangirls already knew this, but it seems that Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange has a part in Thor: Ragnarok. Strange met Thor in last year’s Doctor Strange. They met in New York, and Strange told Thor that he would help Thor track down Odin, especially if it would get Loki the hell out of New York. Well, Strange is back in Ragnarok, because dollar dollar bill, yo. Here’s the new international trailer:

All this says to me is that Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston are once again in the same movie. It’s like War Horse IN SPACE!! (I just made myself laugh.) As much as I want to believe that the Ragnarok press tour will be full of Benedict and Tom trying to out-posh each other, it’s not going to happen. My guess is that Benedict Strange is basically doing a cameo and he won’t even need to do press for Ragnarok. I mean, he’ll probably show up to the London premiere, and that will be it.

Yea that was always the rumor so they could start weaving him into the MCU just like they did for Spiderman/Civil War

    • V4Real says:

That’s not a secret or surprise. We saw the post credit in Dr. Strange when he was talking to Thor and told Thor he would love to help. So how is this a surprise

Ok… who cares? This deserved a separate entry?

    Slow day I guess.

It’s been known for a while that he shot a few scenes for it but no more than just a few days of filming, probably in Los Angeles at some point last year. They were in Australia filming for nearly four months and he never made the trip down there. The director said the film isn’t going to be very long and it is jam-packed with all sorts of stuff. We still don’t know what Sam Neill is doing in it and whether there will be a Jurassic Park reunion.

    Why is loki wearing blue?

    • lightpurple says:

I suspect that will be explained at some point in the storyline. Maybe he has decided to embrace his frost giant heritage.

  5. Josie says:

Loki looks good in blue 😉

  6. Pumpkin (formally soup, pie) says:

At the first glance I thought it was Brad Pitt !!

  7. LooperFor says:

I think we already knew, right? That pic of Loki in the blue is making me feel things in my ladyparts, despite the fact that Tommy isn’t really my jam.

  8. Anna says:

This comes out 3 weeks after my due date (if she’s not late). I’m really trying to figure out the logistics, of actually being able to see it.

      Many congratulations!!

Congratulations and do any of the theaters in your area have Mommy & Me or Baby & Me matinee showings? Some small theaters do special baby-friendly matinee showings as do some of the larger chains like AMC or Showcase.

  9. Beth says:

The God of Mischief looks hot in blue!

  10. Tanya says:

Considering that he appears at the end of his own movie talking to Thor, it’s pretty clear he would show in Thor. This cameo’s been known for a while.

They mustn’t have all that confidence in Chris Hemsworth since they’re pairing up with Hulk, Loki and now Strange.. or is it the Marvel strategy to always shove them in our faces ? (Not that I mind Hulk and Loki, I love them especially Ruffalo).
On a superficial note, I don’t really like Thor with short hair though lol

    • Luna says:

I haven’t seen all the Marvel films but I think most are ensembles — but I think Hemsworth will shine in the somewhat against-type humor. I like his short hair. (But Loki gets me to the ticket window. )

Loki and Thor are brothers, Loki is part of the ensemble of Thor movies, along with Heimdahl (Idris Elba), Odin, Lady Sif and the Warriors Three. They’ve been pulling other Marvel people into various MCU films since the Incredible Hulk when Robert Downey Jr popped up at the end. Scarlet Johanson dropped into Iron Man 2 and Ruffalo popped up at the end of Iron Man 3. Captain America 2 had Scarlet and SLJ, Ant Man pulled in Anthony Mackie from the Captain American ensemble, Sif and Volstagg from Thor showed up in the first Guardians of the Galaxy. Captain America 3 had William Hurt from the Hulk ensemble, Martin Freeman, who apparently is part of the Black Panther ensemble, Chadwick Boseman, Tom Holland, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Scarlett and RDJ; and Dr. Strange had Thor. Black Panther may feature some characters from the Captain America ensemble. There’s overlap. It’s a comic book cinematic universe.

So many hot men in one movie…I’m all for it.
