Russell Wilson rents out an art museum for a date with Ciara

I don’t know what you all did for Labor Day weekend, I, myself checked out Dragon Con and went to a cookout, but for Ciara and her husband, Russell Wilson, romance was in the stars (quite literally).

The 28-year-old Seattle Seahawks quarterback took over his hometown’s art museum on Saturday night for a special date night with his 32-year-old singer spouse. The two spent a special evening among the art of Japanese contemporary artist Yayori Kusama in an exhibit entitled Infinity Mirrors.

The event was packed with one-of-a-kind photo ops, which Ciara shared on Instagram. She posted a short clip with Russell, in silhouette, dancing inside one of the installations, called Infinity Mirrored Room – Aftermath of Obliteration of Eternity. The intimate dance in the space, which beautifully replicated the ideal starry night, was accompanied by the classic Rose Royce R&B slow jam, “Wishing On A Star.” She captioned the clip, “”When Ya Man Shuts Down The Museum for #DateNight…Still Got My Head Spinnin.”

The happy couple, who recently celebrated their one year anniversary, posed together in a colorful room covered in dot stickers, dubbed The Obliteration Room. Ciara wrote, “Placed Our Dots In The Sticker Furniture Room. Incredible Experience.”

She posted another quick clip from a fun, pink polka-dotted installation, cleverly titled “Dots Obsession – Love Transformed into Dots”, with the caption, “LOVE. Dot. Dot. Dot.” I have no idea if Ciara is an art aficionado, but it sure looks like she was having a good time.

Russell also seemed to be enjoying himself, although I think he appreciated his wife more than the artwork. He posted a video of his wife looking at a painting. Checking out her from the back, you can hear him say, “Mama’s looking good, looking at art on a date night.” He captioned the clip, “She shuts down the museum.”

I do love art (and this exhibit looks amazing.) Of course, the couple may not be enjoying many weekend date nights until January, as Russell will be on the football field for a while. But anyway, if I didn’t appreciate the opportunity to eat too much junk food on a holiday weekend, I am sure I would have enjoyed this date night too.

Aye…Pops 2 Infinity ☺️ 💃🏽

I normally dislike her style (formal or casual), but I love those last two looks (the black velvet dress and white two piece). So gorgeous!

  2. Crowdhood says:

No hate toward them. What a beautiful date!

  3. Leigh says:

This bugs. It was impossible to get tickets to this exhibit, people were lining up hours before the museum opened each day to buy them and here she is showing off about how they got the whole place to themselves. Gross of her to be so conspicuous and gross of SAM to close down a public museum so privileged celebrities could take it over.

    • Bridget says:

The exhibit was done when they rented it out, though. It finished yesterday. They didn’t close down anything.

And it wasn’t impossible to get tickets unless you waited until the last 2 weeks.

      • Lilly says:

The YSL exhibit was like that too, but luckily I bought tickets far in advance. Those last few days were crazy busy. Anyway, what a lovely couple.

  4. Beth says:

Honestly? I’m much more happy that I spent the day with my boyfriends family having fun at a cookout. I wouldn’t want him to spend all that money to rent a museum for a date. That doesn’t sound fun

  5. wood dragon says:

Hey, if it’s after closing time, cool.
Myself, if someone arranged for a deluxe after hours date night at the Louvre for me, I would so accept – and talk his head off about art, inspiration, brushstrokes, color, and the artists.

  6. detritus says:

This is a dreamy date. Good job Russell.

  7. Kiki says:

I really love them together. I wish them all the best.

  8. Enough Already says:

I like that they date even though they’re married with kids.

  9. Veronica says:

Considering the cost of maintaining art museums, I am fine with rich people splurging a little bit on something that ultimately benefits everyone who visits it. Especially because they seem so enthusiastic and excited about their visit – it can’t hurt to get some of their followers revved up about art.

  10. Lilly says:

Meghan Markle is right; I love a great love story. What a thoughtful date night idea. Oh and Go Hawks.
