Karl Lagerfeld really, really dislikes Heidi Klum. Lagerfeld, the head designer of Chanel, had already belittled Heidi and other models who dared to be above a size zero back in February. At the time, Karl tried to act like Heidi was so distasteful to him, he could just dismiss with the comment “We don’t know her in Paris.” Heidi was very classy about the whole thing, probably because she’s gorgeous, has a great career, and seems to be a very, happy, well-adjusted woman.
But Karl still has a hate-on for Heidi, and he’s still mouthing off about her… and now he’s even bringing the hate to Heidi’s lovely husband, Seal. Karl repeated his claim that Heidi was “never in Paris” - which, let me explain, is some of kind of burn in the fashion world. Saying someone has “was never in Paris” is the schoolyard equivalent of “yo’ mama so fat…” Then Karl went onto to mock Seal’s skin, saying “I am no dermatologist but I wouldn’t want his skin. Mine looks better than his. He is covered in craters.” Seal was diagnosed with discoid lupus erythematosus when he was a teenager. And Karl is ugly, inside and out:

In February German-born Karl was blasted after saying Heidi was ‘too heavy’ to be a catwalk model.
Now he’s claimed no-one in the fashion industry knows who she is.
The French-based fashionista said: “I don’t know her. Claudia SCHIFFER doesn’t know her.
“She was never in Paris, we don’t know her.”
He also had it in for the pregnant beauty’s husband Seal - taking an evil swipe at the singer’s skin condition.
Karl added: “I am no dermatologist but I wouldn’t want his skin.”
“Mine looks better than his. He is covered in craters.”

I wonder what Heidi will do? She’s as classy as they come when someone is criticizing her, but she might feel differently if some jerk is picking on her husband. I suspect that Heidi knows how to throw down. Karl should watch his back, because I suspect Heidi will be “in Paris” very, very soon. With a knife.
So, what’s next for Karl Lagerfeld after he mocks someone who had lupus as a kid? My guess is that Karl will go back to what he normally does for fun, kicking puppies.

I’m German and I can’t stand her either. I guess it’s over-exposure.Her show, Germany’s Next Topmodel, is in the 100th season (I don’t know) and it’s beyond me why people watch this sh-t. Heidi also promotes about a million of products here and, generally, I find her annoying as all hell. I saw her on some US-American talkshow once and when she started to yodel, that was it. She’s EMBARASSING.
and while lagerfeld’s last comment was pretty mean, he’s right that Heidi never was a high fashion model.

Are you kidding?! I would never make fun of someone who suffered from a serious illness. Despite what you may feel about Heidi there is no excuse for targeting her husband who has nothing to do with fashion. It has been Heidi’s choice to pursue a career based solely on looks; however, you don’t have to be good looking to have an awesome voice. I personally find Seal to be very attractive and don’t mind his scars.

Heidi is perfect for a mass audience. She is the Big Mac in a gourmet world. just to be fair: I have watched the interview on tv & karls comments have been taken out of context.
actually he had really nice things to say about seal (being an amazing singer and such) then the host quoted seal saying that karl is an poor old man. karl then replied that he indeed is not that poor & besides being old is no dermatologist but wouldn’t want his skin. he also said that heidi is a pretty girl but not into high fashion, which as said here before is true! -

My mother has discoid lupus and has to have regular skin treatments to keep stuff like this from happening. If KL ever said anything to her, I’d kick his arse into the next millenium.

He certainly crossed the line in insulting Seal’s skin, but remember that beauty and fashion are skin-deep. -
Lagerfeld, is such an idiot for acknowledging and b*tching about somebody’s “overratedness”. What he said was unnecessarily nasty, and damaged his reputation somewhat. I wouldn’t want to associate with him in any way, regardless of the big time opportunities and the knowledge he has of his trade.

I like Heidi she seems like such a nice, hardworking person…I don’t begrudge her that at all.
That said I understand what he means, in fashion she isn’t Coco Rocha or a model that has that kind of high art prescence, walked runaways across europe (esp. Paris) and works with important photographers.
She is commercial…the model version of American Idol.

I think his comments about Seal were very uncalled for, but I agree with everything he said about Heidi. She was never high fashion and he knows it better than anyone. He’s the head of Chanel for more than 25 years, he designs for Fendi, for his own brand and he’s a photographer to boot. He’s aware of the “who’s who” of the high fashion industry and Heidi was never a part of it. As someone said before, Karl is probably pissed off to see women like Tyra and Heidi pretending to know everything about fashion just because they did some catalogs for Victoria’s Secret. Comparing high fashion models to commercial models is like comparing Target to Dior.
