Bradley Cooper & Will Smith are apparently huge Philly Eagles superfans

I’ve become so used to all of the Boston celebrities supporting the New England Patriots, I forgot that there are several celebrities from Philadelphia (or the Philly area) who are ride-or-die for the Eagles. Journalist Jake Tapper is from Philly. Will Smith is from Philly. Bradley Cooper is from Philly. Rob McElhenney is from Philly. And all of them – except Will Smith – were on hand in Minneapolis last night to celebrate the Eagles’ Super Bowl win. Will Smith was so excited that he even made a short film about his excitement:

And this is what Will did after the Eagles won:

PHILLY HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!!

As for B-Coop – he played an Eagles fan in Silver Linings Playbook, so it was a real art-imitates-life moment for him. He was basically calling to Jesus and freaking out the entire game:

And here are some of Rob’s tweets:

And here’s the chaser: Ol’ Handsome Joe is so proud, and Dr. Jill Biden freaking out:

I’m happy for Philly. I mean, it should have been the Falcons last year #cry #stillnotoverit #whattheheckhappened #that’ssoAtlanta But yeah… if I’m gonna be an Eagles fan for one night, and I am, that was the night! Fly Eagles Fly!

    • The Original Mia says:

Not over it either, Amy. #whatcouldhavebeen

Happy for Philly, though. If only for one night.

    • SMDH says:

Imma still shaking my head in utter disbelief a year later….

      But yeah, congrats to Eagles

I am in Philly and believe me we ALL were rooting for the Falcons last year! Philly was all for Atlanta winning! Thanks for the love! I am still floating on cloud nine. We needed this so bad. It felt like a win against trump with brady and their friendship and racism. It gives us hope that the under dog can win! Even when the powerful have a dynasty and seems like there is no justice…there is! We have Chris Long that gave away his entire salary and Jenkins speaking out against injustice. Resist!

I read an article yesterday talking about how the Eagles were the “wokest” team in the NFL.. really added to the narrative and helped me feel good about cheering for them!

I really like Bradley and I LOVED SLP, so seeing his reactions made me happy!

I’m surprised Will didn’t go to the game! Looks like he’s in a hotel somewhere though, must’ve been working.
My family LOL’d at Bradley Cooper having the “wife of team owner” seat for the whole game.
Love the its always sunny group there together!

I was thinking last night IASIP NEEDS to do a bit on this. I’m glad they were able to go to the game though – that’s fantastic. I just found out recently Charlie is actually a die hard Pats fan. So I assume he wasn’t ‘allowed’ to sit with them haha.

I hope they do an episode of it. They’ve had others that were Eagles related, I could see it.

  4. BlueSky says:

Kevin Hart is also from Philly. He was there freaking out too!

    • Scal says:

Did you see the videos of him trying to get on the stage during the award ceremony and getting shut down? And the NFL network interview? Kevin Hart was embarrassing .

      • BlueSky says:

@Scal, yes I did. Drunk off his a$$. He explained later that he wasn’t mad because security was just doing his job. I can’t be mad though. They’ve waited a long time for this.

  5. Talie says:

Ryan Phillippe and his son were freaking out on Instagram. He’s from Delaware…never knew that!

Aww, I remember Bradley’s character in Silver Linings Playbook and what the Eagles meant to his family- didn’t realise he loved them in real life too!

And his reaction gifs are just brilliant, and brought back memories of his fantastic double act with Gerard Butler when Andy Murray won Wimbledon in 2013. I was too busy losing my mind over Andy winning at the time to appreciate them properly, but watching them back later, I wished there had been a split screen, with half just given to a camera trained on their reactions the whole time 😀

Between that and these, I’m thinking that idea needs to be brought back. Just invite Bradley to all the sports things, and stick a camera on him for the duration. TV gold. 😀 😀

Wasn’t Will born and raised north of Philadelphia??? Before he moved to Bel Aire 🤪

Oh man what a wonderful night. I’m right outside Philly and was keeping in touch with my Phillies fans all over the country all night. I have little kids so I just stayed home but WOW it was a loud and crazy night here. So much joy. And you know what? Philly didn’t even burn down. We done good.

  9. Tiffany says:

Bradley Cooper was born and raised in Philadelphia. It’s not just from a movie.

  10. Louise177 says:

I chuckled at the “apparently” in the title because I thought it was common knowledge that Will and Bradley were from Philadelphia.

I mean, I’m a ride-or-die Packers fan, and I was down with the flu yesterday and slept through it. I woke up at some point and it looked like the Pats were taking it. When I woke up this morning to find out the Eagles had it, I have to admit that I was really happy for them. I really hate the Patriots haha #GoPackGo2019

  12. H says:

As a Ravens fan I was disappointed, but maybe next year? However I’m so happy for my friends to the north in Philly. #FlyEaglesFly

Plus just excited Brady lost although it was a tight game.
