Debbie Rowe wears “three wolf moon” t-shirt, unsure about wanting kids

Michael Jackson’s second wife Debbie Rowe was photographed working on her horse ranch in Palmdale, California yesterday. Debbie has fresh nail tips and is wearing the most popular shirt on Amazon.com – Three Wolf Moon! JayBird wrote about this shirt in May, and she mentioned that hilarious, tongue-in-cheek reviews have “have pushed one of those cheesy-ass wolf t-shirts to the top of Amazon’s sales charts.” Is Debbie wearing the shirt to be clever or does she just like it? It’s hard to tell, but JayBird doesn’t think it’s possible to wear that shirt ironically and maybe that’s part of its appeal. Debbie also dons a hat on that says “Council Member,” and holds a stethoscope to listen to a pregnant horse. There’s also a photo where she’s taking a horse’s temperature the old fashioned way, but I didn’t include that.

This is one of the first times Rowe has been photographed since Jackson’s trial in 2005. (The Daily Mail did a profile of her last year that included photos, but we haven’t found any paparazzi pictures in the last three years.) There must have been multiple photographers camped outside Rowe’s ranch hoping to get some shots, and several agencies have photos of her out yesterday tending her horses.

Rowe is a prominent figure in the news due to MJ’s death and yesterday’s revelation that she plans to seek custody of her children with Michael, Prince, 12, and Paris Jackson, 11. She stated in a radio interview that she will seek a restraining order against her former father-in-law, Joe Jackson, to keep him away from his grandchildren. Yesterday Rowe’s lawyer backtracked a little and claimed that she’s conflicted about seeking custody, and that it’s likely she’ll move forward in the custody battle of her children but isn’t sure she she wants to care for them. From most accounts Rowe has not seen her children since infancy:

After strong indications of an oncoming custody battle in the Michael Jackson saga, Deborah Rowe’s lawyer gently applied the brakes on Thursday.

Attorney Eric George told reporters during a telephone press conference that Rowe is not yet firm in her decision to to fight for the custody of her two children.

“Debbie Rowe has not reached a final decision concerning the pending custody proceeding,” George said.

The lawyer’s remarks contrasted with Rowe’s own remarks earlier Thursday. “I want my children,” Rowe reportedly said during a 90-minute phone conversation with NBC-LA anchor Chuck Henry.

Rowe is the mother of Jackson’s two oldest children — son Michael Joseph Jr., 12, and daughter Paris Michael Katherine, 11.

George admitted in the press conference that the conversation with Henry “was accurately and ethically reported.” But, he added, “it would be a distortion of the truth to allow that single snapshot of a single conversation to stand as the truth of Debbie’s position.”

Rowe’s self-described “best-friend” and former attorney Iris Finsilver told Time.com that she spoke with Rowe earlier Thursday and echoed Rowe’s desire to enter a custody battle. “This is something that’s very important to her, she loves her children,” Finsilver said.

Katherine Jackson, the singer’s mother, has temporary guardianship of her son’s three children. A guardianship hearing has been rescheduled for July 13.

[From Time.com]

In related constantly breaking Michael Jackson news, the details of his will have been revealed. He leaves 40% to his mother, Katherine, 40% to his three children, and 20% to undesignated children’s charities. The will, drawn up in 2002, states that Jackson “intentionally omitted to provide for… former wife, Deborah Rowe Jackson.”

Reports note that Rowe has several tax liens against her horse ranch, one for almost $100,000. She’s in need of money and gaining custody of her children would give her some hefty child support. The question is – does she want to care for the kids? It doesn’t seem like Rowe even knows the answer to that.

Why is it that everyone in Michael Jackson’s life seems to have had financial problems?

Rowe has tax liens against her ranch, Katherine and Joe Jackson filed for bankruptcy, several of the brothers have been in money trouble, and of course Michael himself was a half-billion dollars in debt.

Was there anybody in the family who lived within their means? Maybe Lisa Marie Presley?

Her lawyer should be fired if he’s making public statements that she’s not sure if she wants to care for the children. That statement is completely against her interest.

I think her real conflict is not being sure she’s able to care for 2 or 3 kids, but knowing that if she doesn’t, Joe Jackson will get his hands on them. She seems to have a pretty good understanding of the abuse Michael went through and is weighing the fate of the children with her ability to parent. That seems pretty conscientious to me.

  3. JayBird says:

I think the problem is that the 3 wolf moon shirt is so unhip that it’s actually impossible for it to cross the line to cool. And there is no way Debbie is wearing that shirt ironically – I wish I’d thought of her when I wrote the original article, she’s the poster child for animal shirts. I bet she has multiple kitten Christmas sweaters too.

I’m hoping Debbie does step up. While I think she’s kind of weird, which explains her connection with MJ, I hope the idea of Joe Jackson being around those kids really lights a fire within her. Michael wouldn’t want those kids around his dad. No way. If Debbie taking the kids get them away from him, then that’s for the best.

    Jaybird, yeah! Love ya!

I know someone who knows Debbie. Apparently, she’s really into motorcycles (Harleys, in particular), in addition to her animals. She is a warm, down-to-earth woman. And she’s a nurse, so you know she has that caring instinct.

I think she’s probably the best person to mother these poor kids.

Her eccentricities (motorcycles and animals) are a little different than the norm, but not alarming. Maybe this is what God intended — for these children to be raised by their natural mother.

I don’t get the J Jackson thing. I thought Joe and Katherine have been separated for years. I thought he lived in Las Vegas probably with some other women with kids. I believe Joe fakes like he is with the family for promotion sake. I would hope that she changed the locks to all her doors and he can’t just walk in. I believe MJ would have told K Jackson to keep his kids from J Jackson.
I do believe if Joe Jackson could he would use Micheal’s children to earn money off of them but I don’t under estimate Katherine’s protectiveness for her grandchildren. I don’t think D Rowe should get the kids just because she wants the money attached to their heads.
To me she don’t seem to be into kids at all and maybe that’s why M Jackson picked her. I believe lawyers are trying to convince her to get the kids so they can make money during a big trial. I believe grandma Jackson do have a better understanding of how to protect them from the media.
I believe if D Rowe get the kids, that would be just as dangerous as Joe Jackson coming any where near them.

Hahahahaha, she is wearing THE tshirt. It’s so tragically unhip it’ll never ever be ironic.

I can’t wait to see Sienna Miller trying to irony it up in one of these.

In related news; I don’t know what I think is best for the kids. I think that probably having their Dad back is best for them so I really think y’all need to get behind my plan to get MJ back by trading his life for 10 x Vile Oxygen Thieves lives. I don’t know the exact logistics of how it’s gonna work yet but I’m guessing that somehow a MAGIC LOOM is going to be worked into it and in the long run I think it’ll be for the best for everyone.

Whether or not Debbie is a good person is kind of moot. She is practically a stranger to these kids; Paris was barely a year old when they divorced. Giving her custody would, from the kids perspective, be just like putting them into a random foster home. I can’t help but think they are better off with a grandmother they have known and loved, in contact with aunts and uncles who care about them.

  10. Annie says:

Hm. For some reason, Debbie reminds me of what Jessica Simpson will look like in 30 years if she doesn’t start watching herself.

  11. LL says:

Have any news reports come out about MJ wanting to by cryogenically frozen? Years ago there was a big fuss made about him wanting to be frozen so that he could be brought back to life if they found a cure for whatever killed him. It was right inbetween the relationship with the monkey and the oxygen chamber stories.

  12. aleach says:

Youd think the 3 kids would want to stay together. If Debbie does decide to fight for Prince & Paris, what happens with Blanket? Id hate to see siblings torn apart.

  13. Nah says:

anyone know why Prince Michael II is called “Blanket”? that is the most odd nickname I’ve heard of.

  14. chatty---3 says:

Yes, Michael stated during an interview on ABC from ’03(?) that the name Blanket was more of a saying like his example given ” put the blanket on the baby” meaning caring/protecting. That is why he is called Blanket.

  15. truth-SF says:

Debbie does not want those kids, her lawyers want the money associated with them. Joe Jackson has no power over his estranged wife, kids or grandkids. He doesn’t and has not lived with his wife for over 15 years. His children do not tolerate his crap and has long ago stepped up to his bullying. They have and will continue to help their mother watch over and protect their brother’s children. Joe is an 80 year old man who doesn’t have the stamina, energy, and power to do anything harmful to Michael’a children, nor would he ever try even if he could. He has 5 grown sons and more grown grandchildren who would whoop his ass if he tried.

  16. maritza says:

I believe Debbie will settle for just the right amount of money, she doesn’t care for those kids at all, she is perfectly content with her animals.

  17. Lori says:

I’m hearing rumors that the legal eagles are discussing possible visitations between the children and Debbie Rowe. Personally, I think that would be a win win situation providing Debbie Rowe really does love her children.
