Lori Loughlin’s ‘friends’ apparently think Mossimo ‘concocted’ their scam

Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin's husband Mossimo Giannulli released on bond after facing judge over college bribery scandal

I don’t really care about the stale tea about Mossimo Giannulli and how he never even graduated from USC either. Olivia Jade already revealed – before Operation Varsity Blues broke – that her dad’s college experience is partially or entirely faked. Various media outlets did some digging and they found an old interview Mossimo did where he claimed that he scammed money from his parents for college, then used that money to start his own company. This is the same man who is now facing multiple federal charges for his part in scamming his daughters into USC enrollment. But here’s some not-so-stale tea: Lori Loughlin’s friends hate her husband.

Is Mossimo Giannulli to blame? Amid the nationwide college admissions scandal, Lori Loughlin’s friends are pointing fingers at her husband of 21 years.

“Everyone feels bad for her,” a source says exclusively in the new issue of Us Weekly. “They think the situation was something concocted by her husband.”

The fashion designer, 55, who is the Full House alum’s second husband, has never been a favorite among her pals, according to the source: “Her friends don’t like him.”

Loughlin, 54, and Giannulli were arrested and charged in March with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud after being accused of paying $500,000 in bribes to get their daughters, Bella, 20, and Olivia Jade, 19, into the University of Southern California. Earlier this month, the couple, who wed in 1997, were hit with a second charge for money laundering.

Something tells me that when all things are said and done on this case, everyone in this family will have turned on each other. Olivia Jade and Isabella Giannulli will turn on their parents (if not each other), and Lori and Mossimo are totally going to turn on each other. I feel like this is the first little hint of it – Lori’s defense is obviously that she’s too white and privileged to actually be held accountable for anything, and look, it was ALL Mossimo’s fault anyway! I hope these lazy dumb grifters all eat each other.

And that is the sound of Mossimo getting thrown under the church bus. Watch out when Aunt Becky is driving.

  2. chlo says:

    That couple loves their sandals.

    • Dee says:

Right?! Looks so bizarre in all the photos of them going to court etc always in stupid plastic sandals. They really seemed to have looked at this whole situation as a trip to the beach rather than the end of the road!

    • GirlMonday says:

      Riiiiiight

    • Don’t ever underestimate how utterly casual (Inappropriately) people in LA will dress for occasions where they should know better. I’ve been to the opera and seen people in plastic sandals and sweatpants. I have seen people sent home from jury duty for shorts and sandals and tank tops. Formal weddings the same. It’s ridiculous.

  3. minx says:

OMG now I am loving this even more!

  4. Christin says:

And people questioned whether Macy and Huffman would stay united.

Aunt Becky certainly has the PR wheels turning in her behalf. Next story may be how her biggest mistake was divorcing her first husband.

  5. Digital Unicorn says:

Ah so she’s going down the ole it was all my husbands idea, he made me do it route. GF is too stupid to realise that at the trial the evidence will be made public and that her career is over, NO ONE will hire her now or after esp as she is def going to do jail time.

What a family, she’s throwing her husband under the bus and its likely that the daughter who is being investigated will throw her parents under the bus.

Am sure they can all sit on the churchy bus singing hymns about how round the wheels are.

    • Megan says:

She is a great mom who would do anything for herself, sorry meant kids, including sending her husband to jail.

    • Arpeggi says:

Don’t they have emails she sent? It’d be hard to claim that it was all his idea when she emailed people asking about having them write their kids’ application and how to fake them being on the row team…

      • They not only have emails they sent, they have PHONE CONVERSATIONS TAPED. How the hell these two einsteins think they can get out of this is…?!>!<@??!?!?

  6. dota says:

Does he have cheek implants? The side by side comparison of the two makes his look fake. Whose bank account did the $500k come out of?

  7. Aims says:

This is so telling to me. She’s letting her friends do the talking and saying her husband is the bad one. Their girls are probably going to flip on their parents, Lori is throwing her husband under the bus. This family is melting in front of our own eyes and they have zero problem with on turning on each other to help themselves out. Nice family…

  8. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

In my half a century’s worth of experience, moms normally head up the extrapolation of college entry information. It requires organizational and attention to detail skills men and dads normally don’t have the patience for. Once moms and their kids go through everything together, information gathering, writing, testing, etc is the responsibility of applicants. This is the normal pattern lol.

  9. Christina says:

She was okay benefiting from his schemes until they got busted regardless of whether or not her friends liked him. No sympathy.

    • minx says:

Just what I was going to say. She didn’t get that wealth from Full House residuals. His fortune was just fine for her until this mess—now we’re getting the “her friends don’t like him.” GMAFB.

  10. Sherry says:

They’ve brought their children up to be monsters, just like they are. They all deserve each other.

  11. redhead says:

I believe I read early in in this mess that Lori was recorded in a phone conversation clarifying with the “recruiter” guy that she was safe to declare the money as given to charity. Doesn’t really square with her just being led by her husband .

  12. Chef Grace says:

    Jesus take the wheel.
Aunt Becky needs to pry Mossi’s fingers off the bumper.

  13. JRenee says:

The oldest daughter has said nothing.
It doesn’t matter what her friends think, her fingerprints are all over this crime scene

  14. NicoleInSavannah says:

It was absolutely her! She is the one who ran into the counselor’s office guns a blazing. It was actually both of them to be fair.

    • Kebbie says:

I thought it was him that threw the temper tantrum with the counselor?

They’ve got them both dead to rights. Whatever angle she’s trying by leaking this isn’t going to help her case, just hurt her marriage. Unless he’s in on it and falling on his sword for her…lol highly unlikely given what we know about him though.

  15. Anare says:

What do we know about him? Other than a few items I got from Target I know nothing about this Mossimo person. Do tell!
