Star: Tori Spelling’s “loveless marriage” – money, fame & horses

startoriloveless
Dude… Star Magazine’s cover story this week is intense. Star has a source named Michael Olifiers, who claims to have been “friends” with Dean McDermott “for years” and Michael is telling all. Michael claims that Dean has been plotting against wife Tori Spelling since they met – and that their marriage is totally based on the idea that Dean wanted Aaron Spelling’s millions. Michael says there is “no question” that all Dean ever wanted from Tori was money and fame, and that Dean has made cruel remarks about Tori behind her back. Something about “looking like a horse”. Tori’s not the prettiest girl, I’ll admit, but I wouldn’t call her horsey. Let’s face it – she’s not Sarah Jessica Parker.

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott seem to have the perfect marriage on their hit show, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, but in reality, it’s anything but. According to a friend of Dean’s, their relationship has been a lie since the get-go and Dean has even said Tori looks “like a horse!”

“There is no question Dean is with Tori for the money and the fame,” Michael Olifiers, an actor who’s been friends with Dean for years, tells Star in a world exclusive interview. “Dean’s always been desperate to become famous. He craved being in the spotlight and Tori’s his ticket to that life.”

But he didn’t always have kind words for the woman who became his wife and mother of his two children. The night before Dean left to film Mind Over Murder in 2005, he fired off a barrage of cruel barbs aimed at Tori, says Michael. “I can’t believe I have to kiss her,” Dean joked. “She looks like a horse!”

Yet once the then-married Dean met Tori, who was a newlywed herself, all that changed — he dumped his wife Mary Jo Eustace and began scheming to latch onto Tori’s fame and fortune.

As her mega-rich father Aaron Spelling lay dying, Dean forced Tori to not make him sign a prenup. But when the legendary TV producer passed away a month after they married, Tori discovered she hadn’t inherited the multi-millions she was expecting.

“Dean was livid,” says Michael. Today, the couple earn a living from their Oxygen reality show and “exploiting their relationship,” says Michael. “They do everything and anything to make money from their fame.”

And Michael warns that his former friend will only stay with Tori if the money keeps rolling in — and if he cannot hook a bigger or richer star!

Find out more about Dean’s heartless scheme to make millions off Tori and the other names he called her in the new issue of Star, on newsstands now.

[From Star Magazine]

I’ve heard versions of this story before – that Dean was all about Tori for her money (or her dad’s money) and that all Dean wanted was to be rich and famous. I’ve also heard versions that have Aaron and Candy Spelling hating Dean from the start of Tori’s relationship with him, and Aaron being convinced to cut Tori out of the will because of the fear Dean would just take all of the money. Here’s the thing – I could conceivably buy parts of that story (especially the part about the will), except that I do think Dean really loves Tori. I’ve watched their show – and he’s not that good of an actor. He really seems to love her. But what do I know?

What’s strange to me if that Star actually has a named source for all of this stuff. It’s no longer furtive whispers by unnamed sources – they actually have a guy who claims to be friends with Dean. Ten bucks says Michael’s not getting a Christmas card from the McDermott-Spelling house this year.

Friend? Really? God forbid to have friends like that!

  2. BiggieShortie says:

Ouch. That was humiliating and mean. At the same time if it’s true…
I like my anonymous and low-key life.

  3. Naomi says:

I hope that isn’t true, but yet I can believe if it was. I mean, just take a look at Tori (WHOOF WHOFF.)

  4. Raven says:

Of course, Dean wanted money and only the money. That’s why he left his wife and adopted child. But old Spelling was smarter, he left all his money to his wife not to his daughter Tori. He probably knew that men only wanted Tori’s millions not herself. Tori is stupid, shallow girl.

  5. GrnMtGirl says:

    Some friend

  6. Kitten says:

for someone who hates his wife, he sure as hell plays the part well with all those Tori Spelling tattoos

  7. sickofit says:

ha that guy is really ugly too, whats he expecting? Pamela Anderson to go for him?
and a career of his own? what for? some people are really conceited beyond words…

  8. QB says:

You can’t build your happiness by causing others grief. Because karma will buy you in the ass.

Tori , should learn not to trust a married man that in the first 24 hours of meeting her , told her how much he loved his kid and then when to sleep with her a married women.

  9. maddie says:

I think it’s true, Tori is well known because of her father and her stint on 90210.
Not exactly in the lime light or A-lister, but more on the fringe, again due to her father being who he was and his powerful position in Hollywood.

Now Dean who with the exception of those in Canada, who knew him from being married to his more famous wife, Mary Jo.

Dean was a z-lister who’s career was destined to be either in the straight to video or those crappy movies on the Sci-Fi channel, like Skeleton Man.

When scandal broke and on the heels of her famous father dying in the mist of it all, they both spun it to make the most money out of it.

Dean got what he was after, he famous for being an ass, being looked upon as a gold digger who married funny looking Tori, because when you look at his wife and look at Tori that is the only way you can spin it : Money Money Money and lots of it at stake, when Candy dies.

So unless he comes across some one who wins the Mega Ball like 500 millions I think he will be sticking with Tori and doing the Death Watch with her as they wait for Candy to kick the bucket.

  10. LuLu says:

I don’t really buy this most of this story. If he only wanted her money, why would this man cover his body with tattoos dedicated to Tori? I believe he has a tattoo of her face on his arm. Neither of them are that good of actors and they seem to actually love each other. Maybe falling in love while both were married to other people is not the best way to find love, but they come across as two people who truly love each other. If all he wanted was the money and when it didn’t come you’d think he would be long gone by now. Because I doubt Candy will leave Tori anything.

  11. QB says:

Because most of their money come from their tv show. He does a couple o crappy tv movies a year and thats it.

  12. Guest says:

    hope this isn’t true…

  13. Really? says:

Why not tell Tori all of this? She is insecure enough to take it to heart (have you ever seen her go into a spin when a good-looking woman is anywhere near Dean?).

20 bucks says his “best pal,” the “actor” was in one background scene with him, or a friend of a friend of a friend and this mag upped his status, or this is revenge for something else.

  14. Neelyo says:

‘I don’t believe it because they are so in love on their reality show which I watch every week so I should know.’

Someone’s gonna say it so I figured I’d get it out of the way. I have always thought he was in it for the money.

And tattoos can be removed. It may be painful but not as painful as waking up to Tori Spelling for the rest of your life.

  15. manda says:

I didn’t think it was that weird that the money went to Candy, bc she was the wife. I think when “regular people” (ie, not superwealthy) pass away, everything usually goes to the spouse. So, I wasn’t surprised and actually thought it was kind of greedy of the kids to expect so much. But, the idea that they wanted to keep the money from anyone the kids got with, that makes sense. Didn’t her brother get about as much as her?

  16. Tess says:

    @BiggieShortie

Couldn’t agree more. Quiet and annonymous is good.

  17. Tazina says:

The tabloids are sinking and pathetically desperate. They can’t find any decent stories to attract readers so they make something up. This stuff has been tossed around about Tori and Dean ever since they married. Meanwhile they are happily married and have two beautiful kids…just livin’ their life.

And why do people make such unkind comments about Tori, a sweet and nice person?

  18. Smith says:

Kaiser – I agree with you – he’s not that great of an actor and does seem to not only love Tori, he wants her, is proud of their family and brings a calming balance to her Type A craziness.

I think “Michael Olifiers” is really an anagram for “Candy Spelling.”

    The game is on.

  19. Firestarter says:

Well if he was only in it for the money, he knew, early on, that Aaron left her out of the will, so why did he marry her?

He seems to genuinely love her and they do have two children together. I would think the last thing a man only wanting money would do is want to have children with a woman, knowing she ISN’T going to get the Spelling fortune.

What kind of a legitimate friend would say that to a magazine and not to her friend. I call bullshit on the whole story. Like with Brad and Angelina, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, The Travolta’s etc- The only people who truly know what goes on in these realtionships are the two people IN the relationships. Outsiders and gossip magazines, and even so-called friends do not count. I believe the rumors when the couples split and only then.

  20. Susette says:

I remember those old rumors, too. Yet, Dean’s still there. No inheritance, a few tattoos and 2 kids later. He’s still there. Makes me think there’s something to them as a couple.

Really?, you got it spot on. What kind of friend goes to the tabloids with nasty information? Someone you didn’t know very well to begin with or someone with an ax to grind against you. Either one isn’t a reliable source.

  21. Kate says:

People are so mean and nasty. Their lives aren’t anyones business but their own. As for looks…God creates us all and I wouldn’t want to judge God for what his children look like. People should look at themselves instead of others.

  22. Darlene says:

I don’t believe it. I watch the show and I think their love for each other is real. I quite like them as a couple and as parents.

  23. Katyusha says:

I never understood the “horse face” comments. To me, horses are beautiful, magnificent animals, thus insulting the…horse.

Does it just mean a long face?

  24. boomchakaboom says:

Story rings true to me. Gold-diggers have been convincing spouses of their undying love since forever. I’m quite sure Dean is a very good actor when there is so much money at stake, and there definitely is. All he has to do is be patient, endearing to Tori, and wait. She seems to have a pleasant enough personality that it wouldn’t be that hard to be affectionate towards her. Tattoos mean nothing. They’re just more “proof” of his alleged love. He already has two little permanent connections to the Spelling fortune in Stella & Liam. Tori is full of ideas to do this and that, and all he has to do is go along with it till the big payday. And yeah, she does have a “horsey” face.

  25. MSat says:

I’ve watched the show, and it appears to me that Dean has only one true love in his life: himself.

  26. RubyKaur says:

That was really sad to read…..Tori might not be a VS model, but she seems like a sweet person. How horrible and embarrassing!

  27. Taya says:

I think that Dean is not only in love with Tori, but that he finds her very attractive. He is not that great of an actor.

  28. McKenna says:

    This is all BS.

First of all, in California, anything that a spouse inherits is separate property. So even if Aaron had left all his money to Tori and they didn’t have a prenup, that money would still be hers because it is an inheritence, not earnings. He wouldn’t be able to touch it. I’m sure someone who was marrying for money would check all that out.

  29. Heavenbound says:

    Boom nailed it!

Connivers are very convincing, and like most of you pointed it out, he is not a good actor and is accustomed now to the Hollywood life. So he has to stick to his original plan even if he does not love Tori, because she is the one with the money and the Hollywood connections. What would he do with out Tori? He just seems to follow her like a puppy.
That man has no self respect having a woman support him, because she is the breed winner in the family. He has his “Sugar Momma” with Tori.

And there are a lot of men out there with that mentality, I have had conversations with guys and some of them have said that they would not mind finding a woman to support them. So “yes” they are out there and Dean is one of them.

  30. Vermithrax says:

    WGAF

  31. nancy says:

the loyal fans of tori know this is a lie!!! please do not let this story make you doubt her. she is a nice and decent person. she is very pretty so leave her and her family alone!!

  32. iris says:

    I knew it!

    They deserve each other!

They are both low, low, low.

  33. maddie says:

Candy’s money may not be marital property but it will afford him a lifestyle that he has become adjusted to.

Lets face it without this move (leaving wife and marrying Tori) no one would remember him.

If they do divorce he will be like K-Fed and fade some where into Z-list status, like Shauna Sands, K-Fed.

  34. ogechi says:

    pathetic!!

  35. Hieronymus Grex says:

    Boogie on reggae piglet Tori.

  36. Cinderella says:

I’ve wondered how strong their marriage really is. I watch the show and it seems convincing, but they’re on camera and a lot of money is at stake.

No doubt Tori’s head over heels, but Dean is the one I question. Players like that can be all lovey dovey to their wives, but the moment they’re out of sight they’re hitting on the first skank that walks by.

I’ve also wondered if Dean is behind Tori’s dramatic weight loss. Anyway, hope none of it’s true.

  37. jann says:

boomchakab, you sound like someone who have been around for awhile lol, i love it, i believe every word, because that’s what i would do, if tori and dean split, what would dean do? he can’t act, no money, tattoos on body is a nice way to nail the love thing home, and it worked, listen to the comments lol, dean is smart, give him credit. and i agree, she does have a horse face, nothing against tori, but it was bound to happen, all that money, dean got lucky.

  38. Goddess711 says:

True or not, I raise a glass to Mary Jo Eustace whom I pray sees this cover while out shopping for gourmet stuff.
May his balls rot and fall off, Mary Jo!
That’s actually a good idea for Mary Jo – writing a book about feed bag meals and sending one to Tori the Talking Horse!

  39. maddie says:

    – writing a book about feed bag meals and sending one to Tori the Talking Horse!

    TOO F**KING FUNNY !!!!

  40. boomchakaboom says:

Heavenbound & jann: Hey, Anna Nicole convinced a judge of her love for the late Howard Marshall didn’t she? Lord knows she was not a good actress. When it comes to money all it takes is an opportunist with determination. At least this story explains that ridiculous thing Dean does every year of giving Tori a new ring for something (anniversary?). Talk about laying it on thick. Tori can count the ways he loves her by looking in her jewelry box(es). She’s the perfect type to be taken in by such a smarmy con – she loves attention, loves feeling loved, loves public displays of said love, all that stuff. Unless she keeps her inheritance from Candy wrapped tighter than Candy’s botoxed forehead, Dean will walk away with the farm someday. It will be interesting to see if Tori is as smart as she ought to be about her inheritance when the time comes, or if she just lets weasel eyes take off with it.

He’s like Prince Von Whatshisname who is married to one of the Gabor sisters, minus the title.

  41. Heavenbound says:

Boomchaka! you are right again 🙂

  42. boomchakaboom says:

Actually I feel bad for saying anything negative about Tori’s looks. She looks fine. Dean, I don’t feel bad about. He is what he is: a conniving manipulator. I hope Tori makes him earn every single penny of his existence by kissing her rear daily. With a smile and a Thank You!

  43. lway says:

Tori has been through enough drama with her backstabbing mother – now her husband is the same?

    Poor girl

  44. Aussie says:

Who does he think he is? He’s no oil painting himself! His nose is way too small for his long face, no surgery can fix that, hell look at Rumer Willis and see what I mean. His shnozz is always red as,and he has that skin cancer look about his whole face. He’s not the best looking guy at all. He should be grateful for what he has, and suck up bigtime!

  45. GatsbyGal says:

I’ve known this from the start. I mean for the love of god, will you look at her? Her face looks like a foot. And for everyone who says “but he’s not THAT good an actor” – the Spelling millions are on the line, people, I think he has it in him.

  46. Shadow says:

Wow, you people are cruel. So because Torri looks ugly, she cannot have a happy marriage? Because her face looks “Horsey” her husband is using her?

I have never seen their show, but seriously, this is STAR Magazine, they write crap just to sell papers. The facts are, they got married, they had children, he knew before others that Torri was out of the will, yet he stayed, and his only hope for the “Millions” is if Torri reconcile with her Mom, “Candy” and yet (according to a report here on Celebitchy) he is telling Torri to forget about her Mom, due to, well Candy seems like a head case.

The point is, regardless of what type of relationship they have, they are still married, they seem happy, and the kids seem happy, isn’t that enough for now.

  47. koolcat says:

i always had my doubts about dean, why would he pick tori, she is not good looking, but i think a wonderful person, maybe his intentions were not honorable in the beginning of their marriage, but on the show, he seems to really love her not to mention his kids with her.
again, i have doubts of this story, you don’t seem dean encouraging tori to see her mom (money); if he were it in for the money, he would do everything possible for tori to get in the good graces of her mom and he is not; however, i do believe now why aaron spelling didn’t leave tori any big money, no matter who she is with, she should have a pre-nup.

  48. tasteT says:

Well, if this is true..then he should not hold his breath thinking that Candy is leaving Tori anything..

that woman is evil, I think she’d leave it to science or one of her other causes. SERIOUSLY.

  49. Orangejulius says:

The idea of him making fun if her looks is laughable. I’d rather have a horse face than a rat face.

  50. JerseyShoreGirl says:

All the comments seem to have some validity, however it seems that no one has placed the blame on the most obvious choice; Deans jilted ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace (the woman he left for Tori). This “Michael Olifiers” just appears out of no where all of a sudden??? “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned”…Just something to think about.
Also…whats the deal with all the Tori Spelling haters??? To the best of my recollection Tori has never really done anything to harm anyone other than having the brains to get out of a loveless marriage before any innocent children where involved. This is Life, things happen…leave her alone & channel your anger on a celebrity that TRULY deserves it like Michael Vick.

  51. leesa says:

You know what happens when a man marries for money? He grows very, very fat….as in K-Fed fat.

  52. MS says:

Tori seems like a very sweet person. It’s not her fault that a plastic surgeon made her nose lopsided. She had the surgery in the first place because her mother told her as a child that she needed a nose job. Lately her chin looks smaller; she’s an attractive girl. I’d like to see what the posters look like who are making these vicious comments about her looks. As for this “friend”, anyone can come forward and tell lies. They pay people for their stories. Tori was disinherited when she met Dean, that’s why she was doing a Lifetime movie. Also he has a lot of tattoos on his body of a face that he thinks is ugly? Why if he’s going to dump her in the future? I don’t believe it!

  53. sandi says:

What does Mary J have to do with this?Wasn’t she the one who was cheated on, so she doesn’t owe them anything?

Tori didn’t do any harm to anyone? She slept with another woman’s husband and then made comments to the public about this woman. She didn’t just get out of a loveless marriage, she hopped herself right into someone elses.

Just because he got a tattoo or is still with her, it doesn’t mean that his feelings for her are sincere. He is still the same man who slept with another woman. The major indication that things may not be as rosey as they would have everyone believe is the fact that keep trying to convince the public. For example Dean loves her because he shaves her. Dean loves her because he got a tattoo. These are not happening as a result of love, they are happening to fool people into believing that they are in love.

  54. Aimee says:

“I could never kiss Tori – I dont have a strong enough gag reflux”

  55. JerseyGirl says:

Just because she made a stupid mistake, that does not garner her to become a human whipping post. We all have skeletons in our closets & those who act like they are innocent are usually the ones with the biggest secrets. She’ll have to face her maker someday. One mistake does not warrant a life of public humiliation and bashing

  56. j. ferber says:

Can anyone doubt Dean’s monumental vanity? Just look at the picture on the magazine. The self-love in that stupid stare is the best proof that Dean is in it for Dean. And for a pretty boy, he ain’t that pretty.

  57. Goddess711 says:

He has squinty weasle-dink eyes. She’s just plain fugly inside and out. Can’t wait for the “Dean’s fell in love on the set of another movie” headlines. True love AGAIN. Maybe with AJ?

  58. sandi says:

She didn’t make a mistake, she slept with a man knowing full well that he was MARRIED and she didn’t care about how it was going to hurt. And to make matters worse, she used the media to make remarks about the man’s wife. So no one is picking on her for “no apparant reason”. Why not face public humilation when she had no problem publicly humilating Dean’s wife?

  59. Lollapalo0za says:

    To JerseyShore:

    1. She never did anything to harm anyone? What about the harm she did to Dean’s wife and children?
    2. No innocent children were involved. Again, what about Dean’s children. She destroyed their family.

Tori is uglier than any horse I’ve ever seen. She’s a homely ho.

  60. Heidi says:

I think this article is b.s. If anyone’s seen the show, or read her books, will know it’s garbage. In addition I feel this article is in poor taste.

  61. Higgledy says:

Tori is not only ugly, she has no talent. She only got her job in 90210 because of who her Daddy was. He was a genius. Obviously, a loving generous father since he gave his ugly no-talent daughter a job when no one else would. The fact that she has no talent is evident by the fact that she hasn’t had a decent role since her Daddy passed away. I was a big fan of his, but never of hers. She used her dad and his connections to get roles. She has made selfish amoral decisions, took a husband and father away from his wife and kids. She deserves whatever pain and humiliation she gets by finding out she married a gold-digger. He deserves bupkus since he was after Aaron’s money. You reap what you sew people.

  62. jaymie says:

I think this is all b.s. i have read the books and watch ever episode of the shoe. I don’t think you can fake love like that. I mean i love them both but they aint that great of actors. I lile them uncut better and they seem like they love each other.

  63. jimsdaughter says:

I think that Dean’s friend is jealous of whst Tori and Dean share together so he made something up. Tori Spelling is not ugly and she has lots of talent. people who leave all these negative comments have not paid attention to the things that have happened to Tori in her life. Tori has overcame alot to get were she is and for all these people to put her down is wrong. You should be commending her for everything she has done. She is not living off her dad’s money and she is taking care of her family by working her butt off. As far as Dean not loving her I believe that it is made up. Dean has stuck by Tori. If he were in it for the money he would have left by now knowing that it was never going to come. He doesn’t even want Tori to make up with her mom because of the heart ache that she has put Tori through.

  64. Higgledy says:

Dean married her expecting her to get a big inheritance. She did get a lot of money from her dad. At least it’s a lot to most people. Tori has whined about not getting more. Maybe he’s trying to find a way to get more money – maybe waiting for Mommy to die and hoping Tori will inherit from her. Hope she’s smart and left everything to someone else – Randy – charity – anyone but her homely daughter and greedy son-in-law.

  65. Higgledy says:

As to jimsdaughter saying Tori has overcome a lot to get where she is – that’s BS!!! She started out rich. The only thing she has had to overcome is having no looks or talent. She didn’t overcome either – just used daddy to get jobs while he was alive. Try overcoming poverty, abuse, neglect – in other words real problems. She’s a spoiled whiney rich girl. Poor little rich girl! We feel so sorry for you having everything handed to you. So sad! Boo hoo!!!

  66. Quinton says:

    \
MICHAEL OLIFIERS’ wife Debbie has the exact same face as a bulldog. Ugly as sin. Google Image her name and you’ll see. The daughter has a face of a Chihuahua and it’s not a pretty site. Poor kids. The wife should get plastic surgery. Michael is ugly himself, but not as bad as his wife. UGH

  67. Marilyn says:

Tori cries about not being close to her mom so why did she take Dean away from his child? of course he did it for the money, see him flirt w/ his female diving instructor? and what kind of man lives off his wife?

  68. Maatch says:

I kind of like this, it’s just one of those things where I can’t decide.
