Carrie Prejean: there has been a campaign to silence me

Carrie Prejean’s book promoting morning talk show rounds finished up with the “Today Show” this morning. And all she did was repeat what she said to Sean Hannity: boo hoo, nothing’s my fault, all the liberals are mean to me and I never did a single thing to deserve it. I think that’s the just of it. Oh, and the reason she’s still “under attack” is because of her answer to the gay marriage question.

Prejean told Vieira she remains convinced that everything that’s happened to her is because of her beliefs.

“The biggest thing and the reason I wrote this book is Americans believe their beliefs are under attack, and this is proof,” she told Vieira, adding that the sex tape is another example of what her enemies will do to attack her.

“All I know is there is a campaign against me trying to silence me,” Prejean said. “They tried to embarrass me. They tried to humiliate me. They tried to attack me. And I’m still standing.”

The book, she said, is her way of telling her side of the story.

“Americans heard only bits and pieces of what really happened,” Prejean said. “I think that there is a liberal bias in the media, and it’s unfortunate that conservative women are attacked for their beliefs. It’s unacceptable and it shouldn’t happen. So many Americans are frustrated. So many Americans believe that their beliefs are under attack, and they should be silent and free speech doesn’t exist.”

Prejean doesn’t seem capable of coming up with any unique thoughts, given that all her talking points were exactly the same when she spoke to Sean Hannity. Except that when Meredith Vieira didn’t nod along and agree with everything Prejean said (unlike Hannity), Prejean started aggressively questioning her about whether she believed several prominent conservative women (Sarah Palin being the most notable example) were criticized by the media. But she wasn’t asking if they were singled-out, just if they had been criticized. Obviously Vieira had to say yes; but lots of liberal women (and men) are criticized by the media. Many people in general are criticized by the media. Her argument is essentially “the media has criticized me,” without noting that the media criticizes most everyone. But it’s okay when it happens to everyone else, but Prejean should be treated like the special breakable glass flower that she is.

There is no campaign to silence her. Everything is someone else’s fault. It’s the media’s fault, it’s the pageant’s fault. If people don’t like her or what she has to say, then they’re trying to silence her. There’s no campaign, we just don’t want to hear from you! Oh and here’s a great one – she says if we think she’s a bigot, then the president is too. Genius argument Carrie.

And just as a superficial aside, at one point she was talking about all the pageant contestants being introduced to Donald Trump, and she said “We were just so excited to meet The Donald at the time, and he just came out and meeted us…” I can’t say I feel badly for snickering at her many missteps.

Too bad this so-called campaign to silence her hasn’t worked…this girl is thunder-level annoying.

  2. Kirsten says:

bahahaha whatever there is a conservative bias in the media… has she ever seen Fox News?!?! Everyone wants her to shut up because she is a hypocrite and is a nobody… She got her crown taken away and now she wont shut the F up

  3. anna says:

Only CONSERVATIVE women attacked in the media, Prejean?

I have one name for you to chew on and widen your cuckoo eyes at:

    Hillary Clinton.

  4. Praise St. Angie! says:

    le sigh…

as I stated before, NO ONE IS TRYING TO SILENCE HER.

she has every right to say what she did, and we have every right to react to it.

sing it from the rooftops, Ms. Prejean. It’ll only continue to make you look like the hypocrite you are.

“they tried to humiliate me. they tried to embarrass me.”

no, hon, you did that all on your own. “they” did not espouse “Christian morals” while accepting free breast implants, taking part in a “scholarship competition” that objectifies women, posing nude for pictures or making a video of themselves masturbating.

YOU did that. “THEY” did not.

  5. daisyfly says:

Apparently she’s never heard of the phrase “hoisted on their own petard”.

    She’s been hoisted.

Gotta love the ones who cry out “the media is trying to silence me”…to the media.

  6. Beth says:

Stop putting stuff about her out here…she is nobody and is a waste of your site. CELEbitchy…as in celebrity…she is NOT a celebrity! but then she does sound like a bitch

  7. Seven says:

So WHY hasnt this half brained twit been silenced yet? We need to campaign harder !

  8. Trillion says:

Let me get this straight. She’s doing talkshow rounds where she’s given a platform to complain of being silenced. Right.
    Stupidest woman alive.
If anyone had a reason to silence her, it’d be conservatives who I’d hope would be mortified to have her among their most vocal supporters.
To liberals, she’s the gift that keeps on giving.

  9. Green Is Good says:

She can yap all she wants, but she’s still an empty-headed, bitchy hag who’s infamous for nothing more than yapping about her view on same sex marriage. Who cares what this tw@t thinks?

She got shit-canned for not doing her lame pageant job, and she’s pissed about it.

  10. Jules says:

    And yet she won’t STFU!

  11. Praise St. Angie! says:

“She’s doing talkshow rounds where she’s given a platform to complain of being silenced.”

yeah, the irony of that one didn’t escape me either, Trillion.

also, “If anyone had a reason to silence her, it’d be conservatives who I’d hope would be mortified to have her among their most vocal supporters.”

you’d think…but in their eyes, she IS being persecuted for her beliefs. their blinders are as bad as hers.

  12. Sumodo says:

(BULLHORN) SHUT UP YOU UNDEREDUCATED MASTERBATER!

  13. danielle says:

Funnnny. Seven, I had the same thought – we need to campaign harder! Except that she’s funny. Massive entitlement + stupidity = funny, aka Paris.

  14. LolaBella says:

@Sumodo…Funniest frickin’ comment of the day!

My co-worker just read that over my shoulder and now we both have the giggles.

  15. Sasha says:

Okay too lazy to check back, but isn’t this all PEREZ’s fault? Didn’t he make a huge fuss about her answer to his question? So without him, we would never have heard of this ‘babbling piece of plastic’. So lets blame PH.

And yes, we should not be talking about her. Pointless hypocritical lying waste of space. Ban.

  16. snowball says:

I accidentally watched that interview this morning and I have new love for Meredith. She kept calling that idiot out on her hypocrisy and every time she did, the moron would repeat her Fox News mantra – “I’ve learned from my mistakes but liberals are afraid of a conservative woman,” bullsheet.

She was whining about Keith Olbermann calling her names and being a meany to her.

She came across as someone who is unbelievably stupid who was told she really, really smaaaaht. I blame Sean Hannity, Glen Beck and Sarah Palin for lowering the IQ bar for conservatives.

  17. sam says:

Just because people disagree with your opinions does not mean that there is a conspiracy against you.

Face it. People do not agree with you – get over it!

  18. texasmom says:

I do love how she always looks so very crazy.

  19. moo says:

Soooo… everyone has the right to free speech, unless we’re talking about her. really?

  20. Ron says:

Her campaign to embarass and humiliate herself has been going so well. Why would anyone want to silence that.

  21. Neelyo says:

Where can I donate to this campaign?

  22. Anastasia says:

Oh honey. Carrie. If there were a campaign to silence you, I would pronounce it remarkably ineffective.

  23. Feebee says:

@ Anna, I thought instantly of Mrs Clinton too, she’s always had such a cushy time with the “liberal media”.

As for this airhead being silenced, I only wish it were true. She never shuts up.

  24. Annie says:

    ROFL.

    Ew.

I’m sorry, at 17, what the fuck? Really? You’re soo Christian, that at 17 you’re having a good time on tape? LOL

    Interesting.

“I’m a model” means “I can get naked on tape and play with myself and not have any repercussions”?

  25. meglet says:

Just saw her on The View (delayed as in Australia), and all of the women except Elisabeth obviously couldn’t stand her. She really didn’t answer any questions they put to her.. And yes she has the worst crazy eyes!! It’s like, ‘look at my huge eyes, believe what I’m telling you!’. Also, is the conservative party in America basically religious based?

  26. Wresa says:

Seriously, no more, CB. This isn’t even debatable like Gosselin coverage. No one here wants to hear from this hypocrite, airhead, idiot, liar.

Ok, if you must, just do stories where they interview her publicist, because we know she just memorizes the bullshit spiels her handlers tell her anyway.

    (sorry for rant)

  27. anna says:

I add my vote: Ban Carrie Prejean from Celebitchy!

  28. yeah_right says:

    Bitch please…

Don’t come and tell me that MSNBC and FOX “news” have a liberal bias.

BTW, what excuse did she give about her sex tape? Did she deny it was her in the scene? How did she get out of that one?

  29. mtngirl says:

Hypocrisy sucks, isn’t her fifteen over yet?

  30. Mairead says:

@moo – just exercising our right not to have to read/listen to her repeating herself. She doesn’t sound any less ludicrous than Hillary Clinton complaining about a “right wing agenda” against the Clintons 10 years ago.

Other than “poor me” and “mommy and daddy taught me not to agree with gay marriage” what else of relevance is she saying?

And if there is a campaign to silence her, I see that the Celebitchy team are doing their level-best to ensure it doesn’t work. Seriously, what is with the Brangelina levels of coverage? At least with them we might get a glimpse of the Empress Z

  31. Lita says:

I love the crazy eyes header photos you pick :o)

  32. No Sensi says:

It should be “gist” not “just” for the essence of an idea. I think I’d seen this before, so I figured that, unlike Carrie, you might need a helping hand…^^

  33. QB says:

You can’t compared Clinton to Prejean. Clintons situation was nothing a like.

Clintons teen daughter who did nothing wrong was being called a dog, Prejean is a dumb ass that can’t keep her clothes on.

  34. Shannon says:

Meglet: yes, “American conservative” is generally synonymous with “religious right” and “family values”. They commonly forget about the separation of church and state clause in our constitution. Actually I’ve run into several people who do not believe this clause exists, even when I quote it directly. This only applies to Christianity though, all other religions can take a hike because they’re un-American and scary.

Carrie Prejean needs to realize that if there were a campaign to silence her, we would have stopped hearing about her months ago. What an idiot.

  35. HashBrowns says:

@meglet: The Conservative Republicans are generally Christian, yes. There was a movement of hyper-conservative Christians who happened to move into the media spotlight during the 2008 Election and during the Bush years the “Compassionate Conservatives” were all over the place spouting their intolerance.

What bothers me about Miss Prejean is that she’s a hypocritical little liar who just repeats her talking points over and over and over again. Her excuse for making a masturbation tape? “I was a model”. Classic avoidance tactic. Her being a model has nothing to do with anything but she brings it up so that she can segue into her talking points. Shut up, you little ingrate.

  36. Jazz says:

    Jesus, she looks crazy!!

  37. NFLer says:

A “Campaign to silence her?” Please, we wouldn’t get that lucky. We see her now more than ever. And what’s with her eyes. Between that and the underbite I don’t know where to look.
