Do you know how much I love Nicole Kidman? So, so much. I mean, she’s always newsworthy. Even when she’s not, you know? Nicole is so fascinating, from the divorce to Tom Cruise, to the somewhat strange marriage to Keith Urban, to little Sunday Roast, to her films, to her interviews, and finally, to her fashion, Nicole knows how to make headlines. And this dress… well, I burst out laughing when I first saw it. This is what Nicole chose to wear for the Los Angeles premiere of Nine, a film in which she is playing the actress, the bombshell, the perfection, the muse to Daniel Day-Lewis’s director character. And this is how Nicole wants to promote the film. In a damn dust ruffle! I heart Nicole. Bless her heart.
There are some additional photos from the premiere – not many of the stars showed up, though. Just Nicole, Fergie and Penelope Cruz. Thankfully, something seemed to have thawed between Penelope and Nicole (who seemed to be avoiding each other on the last red carpet), and the three girls gamely posed for some cute pictures together. Fergie brought along her husband Josh Duhamel, whose own National Enquirer-exposed affair was blown out of the water by Tiger Woods. I may be wrong, but I think this is the first time Fergie and Josh have walked a red carpet together since the little stripper incident, so it’s nice to see them out and about.
I can’t say I’m very fond of Fergie’s dress either. It looks very dated, like an 1980s Versace. Penelope looks blah. I’m tired of her high-neck halters. She wears them every other red carpet! I’m also really disappointed that Daniel Day-Lewis didn’t show up. I had my fingers crossed for another cowboy outfit. Guess I’ll just have to content myself with Nicole’s dust ruffle.

I love pink on her. I think it matches her skin perfectly. Also, I’m enjoying the hair color. Good job!
And yes, the cover up does look like a dust ruffle. LOL! I like it though.

I have the feeling Nicole dress is made by Stella McCartney. Unfortunately, sometimes Stella makes dresses in that style. The dust ruffle looks like an “old school grandma bed jacket”. What has happened to Penelopes figure? She looks matronly now, and the dress looks like “ladies who lunch” not red carpet material. All of their shoes are off the mark. Fergies dress looks off the rack from the Juniors section at Macys.

I actually think the dress is kind of cute. I am not wild about lace, but it has style.
Nicole looks rather nice. At least she opts for color, unlike her co-stars. Her make-up looks very pretty.

@diva, I was just thinking it looked like Balenciaga. The last dress she wore by him had sort of a similar weird ruffly bit going on.
I like her in pink, too. And she’s looking quite curvy lately. So either she’s 8 months pregnant or she’s finally eating.
Penelope always looks the same – she’s picked up Squinty’s Carolina Herrera Syndrome. Different day, same dress. And while I hate to rag on someone that’s probably a size 6, she’s looking a little larger than usual.
Fergie.. well, it’s nice that she’s cleaned herself up and isn’t such a total fashion failure anymore. I normally think she looks okay, but that dark hair is not good for her, it’s way too harsh. Her face and neck look so jowly or something. She’s really a teeny short thing, isn’t she?
I hope Josh sent an large check to Tiger for saving his butt.

I don’t mind the capelet at all. And in the picture of the 3 of them you can’t even look at anyone other than Nicole. For a woman that has made a mess of herself with the surgeries, she looks stand-out fantastic in that last pic.

I don’t mind the dress, in fact I think she looks quite lovely in it. And it does look like a dust ruffle. Furgie looks blah and so does Penelope. Nicole really looks her best with this hair color. The blond washes her out and highlights the botox or something.

ahhggggg! those lips! they always freak me out. the inside/underside is NOT supposed to bulge out like that.
and WOW, Nicole is tall…I mean, I know she is but you don’t really notice it until you see her standing next to an “average” height woman.
fergie is not an unattractive woman, but the hair color and style are too harsh for her. she needs to go lighter, and not pull her hair back like that.

I’m not crazy about Nicole’s fashion sense, I find it a bit prissy. But I don’t think any of them hit a fashion home run this night, which is odd for a group of women that beautiful.

I saw a screening of Nine last week. If you liked Chicago you will like this movie. Nearly all of the leads have won Oscars or have been nominated. So it’s a stellar cast and everyone is very strong in their roles. However, Fergie steals the show. Her number is amazing! I was really impressed.

Is there a reason why the majority of the cast wasn’t there? I feel like they were doing a lot of promotion and pushing for the movie and then just sort of dropped the ball… There’s some dirt here; I can practically smell it.

Fergie really looks like someone clawing on to her 20′s here…Penelope is gorgeous no matter what her weight and Nicole has ALWAYS gone for “high” or prissy fashion. Sometimes it works, sometimes not…but I like the fact she does something different.
Sunday Roast…yep, literally secs after babys birth the nation dubbed her that. No one gets special treatment in Oz, everyone gets jibed in a vaguely friendly manner even “our Nic”.

Ms Nic looks great. Would I wear that dress? Hell no! But I’m 5.3 and curvy (GOD my mind boggles at the idea of me in that dress especially the dust ruffle…FUHREAKY!!) and she’s like this super slim Amazon.
She can get away with odd clothing choices…and I hear the movie is good…

HOLY CRAP…it’s the holy grail of plastic surgery! that picture of the three of them is almost too much. the close-ups of Fergie look horrific, i don’t know wtf is going on with her face…my eyes don’t know where to look.
i always though Penelope was more of a “natural beauty” and then i see the one picture where you can see her neck and the difference between the skin on her face and the skin on her neck…weird.
lol@diva – i totally agree about the shoes! they are all wearing the total wrong shoes for their dresses and season. that was the first thing that i thought! if you looked at the bottom half of that picture with their shoes and the bottoms of their dresses, i wouldn’t know what season we were in, what was “in”for that season or anything. what a confused red carpet!

I don’t think Nicole’s face is damaged by plastic surgery, she looks classy and beautiful in those pictures. Fergie on the other hand has a face of a Siamese cat and she’s always posing like “I’m so damn sexy” for pictures.

Just for the record Nicole and Penelopes dress or L’Wren Scotts, so is SJP fuschia dress from the premiere. L’Wren Scott is getting a lot of celebrities to wear her clothes, it’s a shame that they are all so ugly.

Around the time of the Tom/Nicole divorce you never would of seen Nicole and Penelope on a red carpet together. Now it doesn’t even register a blip on the scandal meter.
