Suri Cruise finally gets a headband!

fp_4190989_trg_cruise_daughters_121109

Before I start in about how happy I Suri finally got a headband for all of that dark hair that’s always falling in her face, I just have to quibble about one thing. As you know, I’m not a mother, and I don’t know a ton about child development, psychologically or physically. That being said, Suri in no way looks like a 3-and-a-half year old little girl to me. Look how tall she is! And just the way she carries herself…she seems like she’s a year older. I know it’s a conspiracy theory and everything, but I’ve never believed Suri is the age Tom and Katie claim she is. I know people will point out how wrong I am, and that some kids are just bigger, et cetera. It’s possible.

Anyway, this is Suri on the Spanish set for her dad’s film Knight and Day. She’s back on sleeveless dresses and gold heels, always the girly-girl. Thank God they got her a headband, though. She’s such a cute little girl, and she really is starting to look like Tom. The Daily Mail notes how much of a daddy’s girl Suri is – apparently, she kept her eyes on him the whole time she was on set:

Suri Cruise showed she is a daddy’s girl as she hung around the set of Tom Cruise’s latest film yesterday. The three-year-old watched intently as her father filmed scenes on a motorbike with his leading lady Cameron Diaz for Knight And Day in Seville.

And whether waving to the actor, checking her lipstick and hair or boldly walking over to demand his attention, Suri kept her eyes on her father at all times.

The youngster was dressed in her gold heeled ballroom shoes once again, and carried a gold bag which presumably carried the lipgloss she was applying. She wore an above-the-knee summer dress, dangly clip-on earrings and a flowery hairband.

Her mother, Katie Holmes, has come under fire recently for allowing Suri to wear high heels and make-up, and has been accused of treating her young daughter like a teenager. And with a wardrobe worth an estimated £2million, it seems Suri has plenty of accessories, shoes and clothes to choose from.

She was later pictured with a blanket and cuddly toy on her mother’s lap, which many would consider a much more appropriate accessory for a three-year-old girl. Suri also seemed a bit apprehensive about coming too close to the loud motorbike while the engine was on during filming.

Tom, 46, has been filming stunt scenes for the action-comedy about a fugitive couple travelling across the globe with his co-star in recent weeks. Once the engine was off, however, she was happy to tentatively make her way over to say hello.

And while she mostly watched from the sidelines, she was also happy to spend time with her big sister who has flown out to be with the family in Spain. The youngster looked adoring at Isabella Cruise Kidman, 16, who looked after her on the sat and played with Suri as she sat on her mother’s 30, lap.

Katie Holmes, 30, and Suri flew out earlier this month to spend time with Tom on the set of the film after finishing her own project, The Romantics.

Reapplying lip gloss as she waits for her dad? No comment. The Mail also has photos of Suri chillin’ with Cameron Diaz. This little girl is going to be a Hollywood hellion. She’s going to mix it up early, I predict. Oh, well. At least we can see her face now. That’s something.

Screw the headband. GET THAT CHILD SOME FLAT SHOES DAMMIT!

  2. Lway says:

I agree wit you Kaiser – Tom and Katie are not allowing Suri to just be 3½ – she’s acting like a 5 or 6 year old little lady when in fact she is just a baby.

  3. nikki says:

    i feel she’s a spoiled child here!

  4. JLM says:

At first I thought her dress-up gig was kinda cute, but now it seems a bit creepy…

  5. latvian lady says:

My 4-year-old would be in 7th heaven if I got her some high-heeled shoes. I’m tempted, because I love spoiling her, but my husband would accuse me of crippling our child by letting her wear such disfiguring shoes on her developing feet. And I must admit that he’s right.

  6. Firestarter says:

When I first glanced at the headline, I thought it said “Suri Cruise finally gets a husband”.

  7. Len says:

It’s creeping me out too. Yes, little girls want to look grown-up, but that doesn’t mean you should let them. Only for dress-up for an little while at home, I would say.
I know I should’nt say this, but she looks very spoiled and a bit arrogant already.

  8. Len says:

I just realized: why didn’t Katie have a new baby yet by now? I mean they were so eager to start a family right away, why did they stop after Suri? Katie seems to live for being a mother, they have enough time and money…It’s because Tom is not able to make babies (explaining the adoption with Nicole) and Suri was not his. Believe me, there will be no more kids between him and Katie. There never was one to begin with.

  9. Livia says:

Lol. That kid is gonna be a monster when she grows up. Which, judging by the photos, should be in about five minutes…

  10. Ursula says:

Frankly, I think people exaggerate Suri Cruise’s feats, yes she looks spoilt and Bratty but what did you expect? she is a rich kid duh! And who says her parents are supposed to raise the perfect children? This is Hollywood, Whether Suri or Violet Affleck, all of them are going to be on Meds after the age of 16. Besides, it is Tom and Katie who will have to deal with her as a hellish teenager.

I wouldn’t worry about the shoes, once she is taller than Tom (and she will soon be)those shoes will have to go. LOL.

  11. Bodhi says:

She is going to be a henious brat, if she isn’t already. I get letting little girls be little girls, but parents have to place limits & it doesn’t seem like either of her parents do.

That being said, I have a friend who’s daughter looks a lot like Suri & she could never keep the kid’s hair out of her face! Her hair was super fine when she was little & headbands & barrets & clips just wouldn’t do the trick

  12. EMV says:

I think she’s cute. It’s not like she’s wearing 5 inch heels. We only see her when the paparazzi is with them….not any other time. So for me it’s hard to judge if she is like this all the time or just the moments we see her. She’s a girly girl, I can relate…to a degree.

  13. lilred says:

    LOL Firestarter she’s only 3 1/2 not 5.

  14. Lway says:

Nah – that’s Tom’s baby allright – Look at her nose and mouth area.

  15. princess pea says:

Seriously, does this sound like it’s written about a kid to you? A preschooler, no less? This is the way the tabs describe hot young starlets… it’s creeping me out to hear a LITTLE GIRL written about like she’s a fully self-actualized adult.

  16. birdie says:

@ Princess Pea, I was just copying that section to comment…. It’s really a disturbing analysis. Who the F writes this crap? They make it sound like Suri and Tom are having an affair…

The whole dynamic of this family is so creepy. Suri’s whole dress up routine is getting stranger and stranger, now she doesn’t wear anything except dress up clothes, more makeup than mom, and more jewelry than mom? Let the kid be a kid and have some play clothes she can mess around in. Makes me wonder who her fashion influences are… oh wait, her father loves heels and makeup.

I won’t even mention how Suri is once again wearing summer clothes in the winter.

  17. Malorie says:

I live in Seville, and although it´s sunny it´s quite cold to wear only that dress. We sevillians wear coats at this time of the year.

  18. lastwordlinda says:

I think she looks older because of the way they dress her. Put her in a pair of overalls and running shoes and she will look more her age. As for her hair, I fought for years with my daughter to just let me comb her hair let alone pull it off her face. She wanted long hair but said it hurt when I tried to get the tangles out. We finally compromised. Whenever it hurt she got to pinch me. Ever been pinched by a 4 year old? It’s like being pinched by a butterfly. I won!

  19. Miriam says:

Are you sure this is Suri Cruise?
I have seen another picture of her, the picture is 7 days old and her hair is much shorter. And she looks more like a 3 year old.
This girl on the picture looks so tall for a 3 year old!

  20. snowball says:

lol – why would Violet Affleck be on meds at 16? She seems like an absolutely normal kid, and both Jen and Ben, when they’re out with their kids, do normal things and the kids are dressed normally. I think Violet and Sera are going to be fine. Suri, maybe not so much.

I can’t say anything about the way she carries herself as related to her age, but my son was in the 98th percentile for height from about 6 months on. He was very tall when he was 3 1/2 and he’s 6’2″ now (17). Tommy may not be tall, but Katie would be considered tall for most people.

I don’t particularly like it myself, but even 13 years ago, little girls in school with my kiddo wore lip gloss and nail polish. By the time they were in 4th grade, quite a few of them wore heels all the time. At the time, I was really ticked, which is why I remembered. Our school district has really tight restrictions on what kids can wear, but they only apply it to the boys (t-shirts with offensive images or words, shorts past the beginning of October, open toe shoes/sandals, hair “not distracting, etc.).

And the girls – at the time, I was shocked that these little girls were wearing hot pants and tank tops and micro mini skirts. Now when my sister-in-law says how shocked she is that girls in her boys’ school dress like that, I’m not even surprised.

It’s scary how little girls – and mostly their parents – are sexualizing themselves so early. I know they probably consider it playing, but it’s a scary thing.

  21. rose says:

she’s cute as hell but she’s starting to creep me out. i really don’t see how she’s 3 1/2 either. and it’s one thing letting your kid dress up once in a while but every single photo of this kid, she’s wearing lipstick and high heels. she’s probably never heard NO

  22. canadianchick says:

She’s sure the spitting image of her mom, glad she’s having fun being a girly girl but 3 1/2 with high heels on in anywhere a playroom….wrongo.

  23. Cheyenne says:

@ Ursula: I don’t expect her parents to raise a perfect child, but as parents I do expect them to exercise some common sense. Letting a child going on four walk around outside in high heels, lip gloss and long dangly earrings is plain bad parenting. Never mind letting her walk around in the middle of December with not even a sweater on. Spain is on the same latitude as New York, and New York in December is cold.

  24. Prissa says:

It looks like she’s doing that “crossed leg” pose women do on the red carpet. She’s gonna be something else when she hits her teens…

  25. CadieBelle says:

    I love Suri!

  26. ~M says:

    @Lway:

You all have to understand that in their “Religion” children are NOT considered as such! According to Scientology they ARE adults and have to be treated like adults!

But I think Tom is slightly disappointed that the reincarnation of L. Ron. Hubbard come up with a headband and high hills! 😉

    Creepy one as well.

  27. Maritza says:

Yep, she has an air about her that says “little diva” all over.

  28. the truth says:

tom and kates original nose is out….

  29. Anna says:

When my sister was 3 people thought she was already in kindergarten, she was just that tall. She actually looked a lot like Suri.
If she was a little boy she’d be dressing up in super hero costumes just like the Beckhamm boys and no one would think differently.

  30. Samantha says:

I don’t agree with putting makeup on a baby. Its gross, disgusting and disturbing. Its one thing to just play dress up at home, but to do it to “beautify” a child? Just gives me the creeps.

  31. Goddess711 says:

There’s something not right with this kid; her eyes never smile – she’s odd.
Kinda looks like her mom, doesn’t look all that much like Tom though…today.

  32. Anna says:

Kaiser, I’m on board with you about Suri’s age. Though the shoes could be what’s elongating her legs and making her look taller.
But even if that’s what makes her look older, I still don’t believe she is actually Katie and Tom’s biological child. The pictures of Katie’s pregnancy progress are just too bizarre. For all intents and purposes however, they are her parents now. But seriously, can you say spoiled?

  33. Amy says:

That little girl is a handful, I can just tell by the pictures. I know a girl a few years older than Suri, who looked a lot like her at that age. She also dressed a lot in frilly little dresses (though I think the mother was responsible for that). Anyways this girl I know is such a pain in the neck, she is bossy and demanding and just plain annoying. I can’t stand her and I have a feeling I’d feel the same about Suri if I met her.

And Suri looks her age, it’s the heels she is wearing that are making her look taller. I’m not so concerned about the make up–my sister and I wore nail polish when we were little and loved to play with our mom’s make up. However she def. should not be wearing heels!

  34. yadira says:

I think she looks her age but the long earrings, gold purse and high heels add years to her.

I love it when my girls wear their princess dresses and play with their hair but that all happens at home. BOUNDARIES are essenial when raising your kids. You have to set them if you want them to grow up being a productive, normal-functioning addition to society

  35. yadira says:

By the way, Suri is such a cutie pie! To me she looks a lot like Tom and Katie. Either way, she is a very adorable looking child

  36. la chica says:

    narcissist in training.

  37. flourpot says:

Wow, folks, a bit harsh on the kiddo yeah? Mine’s tall for 4 and loves her plastic heels, barrettes, dresses and lipgloss … just like this little one. And if we’re headed to the store and she wants to wear whatever she has on, really.. who cares? As long as she’s wearing a jacket..jeez, brrr.

  38. gg says:

She’s not dressed like a “girly-girl”. She’s dressed like a good-time floozy in Tijuana, ffs.

She’s forming bunions as we speak. Btw, the surgery? I had it on both feet 10 years ago. It was the most painful experience I could ever imagine, and anybody that says you can go right back to wearing heels again in a few months is lying through their a$$. You don’t EVER want to even LOOK at high heels again after going through that amount of bone-deep pain, and it was an entire YEAR before I could even get out of trainers.

  39. NicoleAM says:

Playing dress up in one thing, but all you ever see her in is fancy dresses and heels. And I’m sorry, but lipstick for a little kid? They’re completely spoiling her, spending millions of dollars on a child’s clothes? That she’ll grow out of quickly, by the way.
And my dad was a podiatrist, heels are really never good for the feet.

  40. jenny says:

OMG! is that a 3 years old child? look these earings!!!!!!

  41. bambi says:

a 3 year old child should be running around being loud and abnoxious. i rarley were heels a 3 year old shudnt be. give her some flats.
