Golden Globes: the Hot Men Buffet

golden_globes_pressroom_05_wenn27145291

I am not immune to the hot-man buffet that was the Golden Globes. There were cute men all around, although it did seem that the red carpet and the presenters were very heavily favoring television stars. I’m not going to wax rhapsodically about the dearth of real movie stars, but seriously! We got George Clooney and Robert Downey Jr., and not much else. Yes, Gerard Butler was there and he looked good. Colin Farrell too. But some of my hottest guys of the night were television people, so what’s up with that? Anyway, here’s some of my personal list of hot men.

First, The Movie Star himself, George Clooney. I watched the E! pre-show, and let me tell you something… George is totally over Elisabetta. She’s not going to make it much longer after the Oscars. Every time she tried to grab him, he pulled away. He’s over it. And for some reason, his beard (his actual beard) looked really scraggily too. It wasn’t his best night, fashion or sexy-wise.

My real favorite couple was Colin Farrell and his girlfriend/baby-mama Alicja Bachleda. They looked very glamorous together, she’s flawless, and Colin looked like he bathed. Very, very nice. He’s the hotness:

Ladies and gentlemen, Simon Baker! God, he’s gorgeous. This man knows how to wear a tuxedo. He’s just so, so pretty.

Mmm… Jon Hamm. I love that his girlfriend can’t keep her damn hands off of him. It’s like she’ll use any excuse she can get to make out with him. Who can blame her? If I got within one mile of The Hamm, I would be a horny Hamm-seeking missile too:

Speaking of knowing how to wear a damn tuxedo, I give you Alexander Skarsgard. I was on the phone with my mother for the pre-show, and even she was like “Who is that?!?” My answer? The hottest vampire ever!

Do people find Sam Worthington hot? I think he looks and acts kind of like a meathead, but whatever. I could see how he could be pretty to look at:

And finally, my guy Gerard Butler. From the photos of him, it looks like he walked the red carpet alone, but then sat with Jennifer Aniston during the show, and they posed together in the press room. I think he looks like he actually put some effort into looking good, but why won’t this motherf-cker shave? Why won’t any of them shave for a big night? Ugh. But still… he’s hot.

Here’s Mickey Rourke, who some people think is sexy. My love for Rourke went down a notch when I saw that he brought his little Russian girlfriend to the show. The whole thing is sketchy, in my opinion:

Did I forget anybody? If I did, I’ll add them, just tell me in the comments!

I definitely find Sam Worthington hot.
They don’t shave because they don’t have to, they’re artists …
It’s nice when they do though.

Is facial hair becoming the look of 2010? Clooney, RDJ, Jeff Bridges, Gerard Butler, Hamm, Worthington, Skarsgard and of course, everyone’s favorite channeling Col. Sanders, Brad Pitt. The one guy who used to never shave was Farrell and even he has a 5 O’Clock shadow going on. What is this, some kind of beard solidarity? Actors Without Razors?

Whoooo-wee! I’ll have 1 Clooney (no Italian), 1 Butler, 1 RDJr and a side salad please!

@Phowie- Hamm has the beard for a movie he is doing, but assured his fans he will be back to the Don Draper look by the time Mad Men starts filming.

Hamm and Clooney still look good, but I prefer no beard. Askars…how did I miss him on the red carpet? Will have to hunt down photos.
RDJ’s speech was great and I do like him, but he doesn’t do it for me in terms of a hot man buffet.
Colin looked good, seems like he’s gotten his life together, so that’s good.
Clooney’s girl of the moment didn’t look so hot, he’s been with prettier.

where the hell is mickey rourke?

yes, his face is mostly mangled, but he is also inexplicably sexy and I thought he looked better than he has at some awards shows. his hair was clean looking and his outfit was snazzy.

    come on now!

colin Farrell is gooorgeous but slightly too Johnny Depp at the Oscars years ago, with the little bangs.

@Vale, I agree about Giuliana – she has been gushing over him for years, and it’s really sort of ridiculous and pathetic. I don’t find her to be a very good red carpet interviewer anyway, but she goes off the deep end regarding Clooney.

I can’t stand Colin Farrel’s STUPID eyebrows. And what’s up with those pants? He may have bathed but it didn’t help.

Robert Downey is the bomb. I’d just like to sit next to him at a party for 15 minutes and shoot the breeze. Always loved him and am so happy for his win. His partner looks awesome, too.

  16. Sigh. says:

Clooney’s growing the beard for a movie, too. And it looked thinner, for some reason…
His date’s dress looks like lingere that came out of the purse she’s wearing. Not the greatest ffashion statement.
I think he’s neither here nor there about her at the moment, but the “Popeater” link below might says otherwise.

EDIT: I checked the link; it says it MUST be love because she was there (like he hasn’t brought now ex-gf’s to ceremonies before) and he was really polite (cameras everywhere, he better had been)…yeah.

Thanks for the review of the Golden Globes 2010. I have to agree about Alexander Skarsgard’s choice of the Tom Ford Tux. The man exudes sexiness without even trying. I am sure your mom did want to know who he was. The small screen is rocking the hotties for sure. Perhaps, Hollywood will take notice and change out the “very tired looking” actors of the past decade. My vote would be of course Alexander Skarsgard as our new leading man. Well done, Mr. Skarsgard.

Alexander looked so good! *Gasp and Swoon*

See ladies, those pics from last week with him outside the cafe were just flukes! THIS is how how beautiful this man truly is.

Colin, Jon and Simon looked very handsome as well.

Uh, YES, I find Sam Worthington totally HOT!

@Kaiser: I think you need to add Big Love’s Bill Paxton to this Hot Men Buffet; he was very dapper last night.

Gerard’s face doesn’t look so orange in this photo! Whew! He looks yummy.
George looks nice, but would look so much better without his manly escort. (To be fair if I scroll the picture up where I only see her from the neck down, she looks feminine. But that male Cindy Crawford -face is so off-putting!)

Sigh… George & Elisabetta. I missed them on the red carpet for E! I only saw him on the red carpet when Guliana Rancic embarrassed herself (during a live tv interview)by yelling over to him. She was way OTT.

And why is Robert Downey Jr and Mickey R. on this Hot List? I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but there are some cases where it’s a unanimous vote… of “no”.

I did like RDJ’s acceptance speech though.
