Natalie Portman’s new boyfriend was living with his girlfriend when they met

I’m not a real Natalie Portman fan, although I have admired her on occasion. She does a lot of work with charity, specifically microfinance charities, and I appreciate her reverence for animals. There’s something very self righteous about her, though, and it will take a lot for me to forget that she wrote an article that (arguably) compared eating meat to rape. It’s as if the rest of us are wrong and her vegan lifestyle is the only alternative to our cruel, destructive ways.

To sum up, I’m not too torn up about the news that sweet, educated Portman may be a homewrecker. The NY Post, not known for their accuracy or honesty, reports that Portman took up with a male NYC ballet dancer who was living with his girlfriend for three years at the time. There are always two sides to every story and maybe they were having trouble at home, etc. Isn’t that what every attached man tells the other woman, though?

Here’s a link to a photo of the guy, Benjamin Millepied, with a girl who is identified with as Isabella Boylston. (The full size photo is about 1/4 of the way down the page.) She’s also a NYC ballet dancer, and is possibly his girlfriend. The guy has a lot of dark, curly hair and looks like Portman’s type.

Is Natalie Portman a home wrecker? The notoriously private actress has reportedly been dating Benjamin Millepied, 32, the New York City Ballet dancer who’s choreographing her new movie, “The Black Swan.” “They’ve been dating since the fall, although she told friends that she hasn’t gone public with it because she was waiting to see if things got serious,” a source tells Page Six. “But the real reason she was quiet about things is that Ben had a live-in girlfriend of three years when they met. She was a ballerina at the American Ballet Theater. She had been talking about marrying him and was blindsided by the split. She moved out right after New Year’s Eve.” A spokeswoman for Portman said, “We have no comment about her personal life.”

[From The NY Post]

I believe those old adages we drag out here often: “Once a cheater…” and “If he cheated with you…” and you know the rest. Again, this is the NY Post so it’s possible they got the story wrong, that Natalie isn’t dating this guy or that his girlfriend had moved out before she got involved with him. This isn’t the first time that Natalie had a rumored relationship with an otherwise unavailable guy. She was rumored to have had a romance with then-married Sean Penn in the spring of 2009, a claim that she denied.

Still, there’s something kind of satisfying about learning that Portman is much more conscientious when it comes to what’s on her plate than who’s in her bed. Is that too judgmental of me? I must not be a compassionate person anyway. After all, I eat meat.

damn CB you went at her, haha

  2. Nic says:

    What’s happening with her face?
    It looks different.

She’s still self righteous and arrogant.

  3. Mairead says:

Alternatively they may have split up but still be sharing an apartment, until one or other found somewhere else. It does happen, especially in an expensive place like New York.

  4. Black~Kat says:

I suddenly feel like eating a thick juicy steak..blood rare.

  5. Kevin says:

Did Home girl get jaw implants? Looks like she’s going for the sexy Alvin the Chipmunk, mumpsie, I’m stealing a fork sideways in my mouth, look.

  6. embertine says:

That is a GREAT last name for a ballet dancer.

  7. Essie says:

Well, I’m of the opinion that nobody can “steal” another human, but, I think Bennie should be careful about dropping a lover of three years to hang with Natalie. Girl has a really bad track record when it comes to men. None of them seem to last very long.

P.S.: I don’t believe the Sean Penn thing. Nobody is THAT desperate for a bed partner!!!

  8. Dorothy says:

Being a vegetarian for 17 years I try not to pose my view on others, my husband and kids eat meat, when my boys get older I hope they will make the choice not to but… So I really hate that article about the rape thing.

She is clearly as selfish as the rest of the world. If she wants something she clearly has no problem taking it. I do think she was dating Sean Penn last year and it was probably the final straw for Robin Wright!

Needless to say – I do not like her!

  9. padiddle says:

ahh, the self righteousness of the privleged and ignorant.

  10. lucy2 says:

Well, at least they weren’t married or engaged, but you always have to keep in mind – if a guy is willing to dump a girlfriend of 3 years for you, don’t be surprised if he is willing to do the same to you someday.

  11. Ellen says:

What happened to her face is called “maturing.” You lose the collagen/fat pads under your skin as you get older (yes, even in your 20s), which results in a more angular appearance.

Then you hit 40 and wish you had them back. đŸ˜‰

  12. lin234 says:

There is a certain amount of privilege in being able to choose your dietary preference.

I lost all respect I had for her when she was dating that nasty man whore, Russell Brand.

  13. Madelyn Rose says:

Highly entertaining article, Celebitchy! I didn’t read the meat as rape manifesto; I would definitely have been annoyed at that. But, I will skip my many reasons for being anti-vegetarian…

I loved Natalie as a young girl in the Professional, but as she has gotten older, I have not been impressed by her acting chops. However, I have been impressed by her continuing on to get an education and not being a total fame wh@re like so many of her peers. She is a pretty girl, and whether she is dating a man that may have had a girlfriend — let he who is without sin cast the first stone. And that definitely isn’t me!

  14. bo says:

Being her has to be like walking into a really upscale mall where everything is free to you. Shopping without limits. She can literally have almost any man alive. Of course a guy would leave his lover if Natalie Portman was interested in him. Can’t say I’d make the same choice but that’s because I resent her.

  15. bo says:

Exactly, lin234. I have all kinds of allergies and serious issues with my diet. If I couldn’t eat meat, I’d starve.

  16. nAynAy says:

To me, she looks like Ashley Judd in the above picture. I happen to have loved her in the ‘Other Boylan (sp?) Girl’.

  17. Erin says:

good observation nAynAy – she does look just like her in that pic.
I don’t know why but I can’t stand her and she seems totally self-righteous and judgmental. she looks like what my mother used to call a “secret snob”.

  18. Samantha says:

I like her as an actress, but I like her private life less and less, which is why I have decided to tune her out unless I am watching a movie with her in it.

  19. Bonfire Beach says:

Benjamin Millipede – hahahaha! Lots of feet for a dancer.

  20. nj says:

I don’t think she could have any man alive, but she does have a definite fan base of guys who think she is the end-all, be-all. I never really saw her as that great. Lots of hype. Very cute, but I can’t recall being blown away by her acting skills.

  21. Huma says:

I stopped supporting anything to do with her when she came out in support of child sodomizer Roman Polanski.

Finding out that she’s a homewrecker, eh, like you said, CB, I’m not all torn up about it.

  22. myself says:

He wasn’t married that makes him legally single, so technically she isn’t a homewrecker. If he was serious about this balerina girl, he would have married her.

  23. snapdragon says:

natalie looks like she’s had a nose job. or maybe it’s just the makeup in this photo. i don;t think it’s possible to break up a happy home, but if this guy was still living with his girlfriend when natalie hooked up with him then she shouldn’t be surprised when he leaves her for another woman. that’s the way it goes.

as for vegetarian lifestyle being more expensive or privileged….um, no – it isn’t. i have been a veggie for 15 years and it is actually quite inexpensive and very healthy.

  24. EMV says:

    She doesn’t look so good.

  25. Solveig says:

Many other celebrities say stupid things, worst than what she says but people use to consider her more stupid or just unpleasant because she is a quite private and reserved person.
She looks contrivied but that doesn’t mean that she’s not a good person. I still like her, at least I like her as an actress.

  26. bo says:

snapdragon, for my part i just meant it’s privileged to act like your diet is a moral issue, when some people don’t really get to make a choice.

  27. Jen says:

Eating meat is akin to rape unless Roman Polanski is involved? Just getting the logic straight.

  28. DrM says:

@bo couldn’t agree more. The vast majority of the earth’s population is worried about getting enough to eat…not whether or not it has been ‘sprayed’ ‘grown organically’ or, God Forbid, means eating meat…those kinds of worries belong to the overprivileged few.

  29. Solveig says:

DrM, “the vast majority of earth’s population is worried about getting enough food” because western countries waste the biggest part of the resources and it’s not a matter of being vegan or “omnivore”. I suppose that it is not a problem if we aknowledge that the western “mass production” of meat and food in general is the real problem in this gap between rich and poor countries.
I’m vegan, and I can’t blame someone for eating meat because it is natural. But I think that I can blame the violent process beyond the slaughtering and the production/distribution of food in western countries. Mad cow disease anyone?

  30. Jesa says:

Gorgeous, smart girl. Oh, and the rest of you ARE wrong and her vegan lifestyle IS the only alternative to your cruel, destructive ways. Do the research, if you want to claim to be any kind of environmentalist then you need to stop eating meat. Objective truth here- it’s not a matter of opinion.

  31. Codzilla says:

DrM: Excellent post. You summed it up perfectly.

  32. tey says:

wasn’t she hanging out with Sean Penn while he was still with Robin Wright? hmmm — personally i try to leave the coupled-up men to their significant others.

i wouldn’t want someone to entice my boyfriend away. seems to me Natalie Portman’s time will come. and her actions will come back to haunt her.

  33. Bek says:

On a side note her eyelashes look like spider’s legs in that second pic.

  34. kim says:

egh . . . don’t care about her love life. Just wondering when she’ll put out a good movie worth paying 12bucks to see. Her last few sucked, and I’m beginning to wonder did she peak already?

    thinking so.

  35. mooshoo says:

it looks like her salivary glands are swollen, and she appears to have lost some weight from her face. also, her skin color is a bit off.

if I HAD to guess, I’d say she might be having some eating troubles. But there are other things that can cause that, too, so no need to jump to conclusions.

  36. M says:

mooshoo: that was my first thought when I saw her picture: bulimia face. But you are right not to jump to conclusions….

  37. Godzilla says:

I loved V for Vendetta and next year’s Thor looks like it could be a corker too. I like the fact that she’s (mostly) private – when you can name more of an actress’ ex-lovers (or kids, Angie Jo!) than films, it kinda spoils the old mystique.

  38. Fiona Daly says:

Not a bad actress but she is also a full on “barking moonbat”. There is an old English expression that you can be entertained by people you would not allow across your door step… I am happy to watch her flicks but I would not care to have anything to do with her personally.

  39. loldongs says:

    She’s losing her looks…

  40. kristin says:

i don’t care about her much but get your facts straight: michael pollan compared a vegan sitting at a table of meat eaters to rape, and she was paraphrasing him. she got in hot water for quoting an author; it wasn’t an original thought. i doubt she has one in her head.

  41. Implant Ville says:

Natalie Portman has mandibular jaw implants, a chin implant and cheekbone implants, in addition to a nose job.

You can clearly see the outlines of her implants in the last photo: those vertical lines on both sides of her chin that’s the implant. Me & you don’t have them because there’s no bone there or muscles shaped that way!

The MJI are so obvious, positioned at the outer jaw to give that squarish (and sometimes manly)appearance. Mainly men get them. Google them to see the silicone inserts.

As for cheekbone implants they are more common in Hollywood than breast implants! (The Brady Bunch mom has them! You can tell by how no matter how old & wrinkly the actress gets, her cheekbones are perky, immune to gravity and wrinkle free unlike the rest of her face). Some cheekbone implants migrate and need to be replaced. It has been speculated that was the case with Johnny Depp who got bigger ones but then had them replaced for a smaller size.

  42. Lexila says:

The article comparison to rape thing was wrong I think but that’s exactly what freedom of speech is all about. Just like when the Dixie Chicks got bashed for their comment on former president Bush. Where is the right to freedom of speech in all of this? The Dixie chicks; they received death threats over a silly anti-Bush comment one of them made during a show in London and it was taken to the far extreme making Americans look really stupid. Freedom of speech is about putting your opinion out there and not getting shit as a result of it. Americans are all a bunch of hypocrites. Americans believe in freedom of speech as long as nothing controversial is said which is total crap. You don’t have to agree with her just accept that there is another view out there contrary to your own. The man thing…I mean we have all done it or had it done to us at one point or another so to bash her is also hypocrisy. People are inherently selfish and if the shoe were on the other foot I am sure that the ballerina would have no qualms over doing Natalie the same way.
