With a big ensemble cast of Valentine’s Day, you knew there were going to be some fashion hits and misses. What’s kind of surprising to me is how few fashion misses there were – which is probably why the few bad fashion choices stuck out so much. First, let me ask all of you – what do you think is appropriate for a female star to wear to the premiere of an ensemble romantic comedy? My choice would be a cute cocktail dress or just some sort of simple, elegant outfit that didn’t pull too much focus. Much like what Julia Roberts is wearing (above). Simple, pretty black dress that looks great but isn’t screaming “Look at me, I’m the star of this bitch!”
Then, of course, there’s Jessica Biel. Is Jessica the star? No. She’s a small part of a large ensemble. But you would never know that because she decked herself out in a big, dramatic gown like she’s the only star. She looks like she’s going to the Golden Globes (where she wasn’t invited). Over-dressed much? And the dress is fug, in my opinion.
I didn’t really like Jessica Alba’s dress, but at least it was appropriate for the occasion. She looks young and cute, even though the dress is kind of meh.
Jennifer Garner shows how should dress for the premiere of an ensemble rom-com. Gorgeous cocktail dress, simple hair and makeup, understated yet beautiful.
Ugh. Anne Hathaway needs to fire Rachel Zoe as her stylist, for real. I get that Hathaway’s coloring makes it a little harder to find great clothes that work, but this dress isn’t working for me. It looks cheap, in my opinion, and it’s too short.
Bradley Cooper: Bronzer much? I like that his forehead is a completely different color than his neck.
And then we have two of the men in the film who came with their higher-profile significant others. Eric Dane brought his very pregnant wife Rebecca Gayheart, who looks very cute in my opinion.
Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher look good. I kind of think Demi is trying to pull focus, but at least she’s not wearing a damn ball gown, you know? I actually love her dress.

Agree that Anne should fire Zoe. Zoe is a good stylist but she is too absorbed with trendyness and Anne would look better in more classic lines, classic designs. Her face has an old-fashioned look more than a modern one in my opinion. Zoe has only put Anne in navy blue dresses for every event – it’s excessive. I think Anne would have looked lovely in the dress that Demi was wearing, but Zoe obviously gave Demi the better dress. B*tch move, considering Demi wasn’t even in the film.

Anne H’s does look cheap. I was in love with the gowns she wore last year at awards season, but haven’t seen her in anything great since then.

Biel’s dress probably would have looked better if it was knee length. I like Alba’s dress but what’s going on with her hair? It looks like she washed her hair but forgot to blowdry it.

I like Anne’s dress-I love the color and the feathers and think its pretty interesting. I am SO over Alba’s flapper dresses, matchy matchy HUGE platform shoes she has been wearing lately, and her sweaty gym hair looks terrible here.
biel is too stacked to wear these overly feminine ruffly things and should instead, stick to structured, simple dresses in saturated colors that let her body do the talking. she doesnt need much embellishment.

Can’t stand Julia Roberts’ dress. It looks like she found it in the back of a used clothing store.
I like Anne Hathaway’s dress, but it should have been at least a foot longer.
In fact, I don’t know where these women got these dresses, but they are mostly pretty dreadful. Biel looks like a giant candy cane and Alba looks like she is wearing girl-camo.

Maybe if Biel’s dress stopped just about the knees, it could be cute. And if Hathaway’s dress had a few more inches and flared out a bit. Julia Roberts and Jennifer Garner did totally nail it, didn’t they? “Meh” is not the word I’d use for Alba’s dress, though. I think her hair is cute (esp now that it’s the right color), but homama, that is ugly.
I recently watched Wet Hot American Summer, so now I can’t unsee Bradley Cooper getting hardcore hot and heavy with Michael Ian Black whenever I see his face.

I don’t think Cooper has too much bronzer on, think its just from being in the sun alot. I kinda like Jessica’s dress. She went with the color scheme for valentines day. Anne’s dress just isn’t good for her and I can’t stand Zoe.

Jessica A’s hair, makeup and body look hot, but the dress looks a little mall-ish. I do like the shoes with it.
Jennifer looks great in the dress, but it shows a lot of sternum. Maybe a simple necklace would have helped.
Anne’s dress is just wrong for her. She can go short, but just cleaner classic lines, not costume-like.
Demi got the good dress, that hiefer! She looks great.

Hands down Demi looks the best! Julia looks like she bought her dress at White House/Black Market…EVERYONE missed the mark with this one…and I love Rachel Zoe and to her credit it’s gotta be hard dressing Anne she is so pale and bird like yet she’s not an old lady…Anne only looks great at awards shows and when she’s wearing a gown and dolled up cuz let’s be real she’s not that cute.

While I don’t care for Julia Roberts, I like her in this dress. Isn’t she around 50 now? – so, I think it’s age- appropriate.

Jessica Biel does look over-dressed compared to the other ladies, but she looks so thrilled to be there -just that won me over. That would be a great X-mas Ball gown!

Love the candy ribbon dress -very fresh, like a fancy tube of toothpaste.
Also love the top of Hathaway’s blue dress -the bottom stops too short for such a heavy/thick “fabric” -also, is she pulling a Lady Gaga with that white heart? -is it on her back or just behind her? Minus points if it’s on her back.
Poor Garner either just escaped being held hostage in a basement -or lost a viscious battle with a box of trash bags.
Julia’s waist-bow ruins the dress and makes it unnecessarily dowdy (but she alone does that to everything anyway).
Alba is very cute doubling as a vintage Dawn doll circa 1972 -or as a 1972 Christmas ornament.
Gayheart and Dane are wonderfully elegant.
Coop looks like a color scale fading off downward, forehead and hair are dark while the bottom of his face and neck blend oddly into the silvery jacket.
Demi definitely looks like Ashton’s mom now … she should have stayed at home, claiming to mend socks while lying about looking 22 on the internet.

I’m can’t look at Rebecca Gayheart visibly pregnant without thinking about how she killed a child in 2001 and was charged with vehicular manslaughter. I guess she served her time but it seems pretty awful that she is having a baby when those parents can’t get theirs back thanks to her.

I would love Anne Hathaway’s dress if it were longer with a train. I think it doesn’t suit here though. She needs a different stylist. Her coloring is beautiful, but hard to compliment.

She’s so darn hongreh for attention that it makes my skin crawl, every time I inadvertently lay eyes on her. Unremarkable and mediocre just aren’t expansive enough terms to cover her unremitting lack of, well, anything, really. She’s pukey-cute enough to still snare some undiscerning multimillionarie, and by gosh there’s enough of them out there, so why is she bothering my eyeballs with a dress that looks like a bunch of fatty bacon strips stapled together, making me hungry? She could bring a touch of class to the Rock of Love bus, maybe? Im grasping at straws.

Mh, reading Anne’s thread it seemed that her dress was horrible but it’s not as bad as I thought, actually, but I do think that she looks better with warm and bright colors.
Jessica Alba’s dress is a mess but her hair is nice and she looks like a doll, cute and fresh.
It seems that Jessica Biels can’t take herself less seriously… boring as hell.
The only dress I really like is Julia’s and the only actress I really love is the fabulous Shirley MacLaine.

It is not that hard to find the right colors for Anne. I’m very pale and have dark hair, just about Anne’s color, and there are plenty of colors that I can wear. It is just the horrible dress styles and cuts she lets Rachel Zoe pick for her!

What’s up with this Rachel Zoe person? I’ve seen pictures of her; she’s kind of awful looking. Doesn’t anyone in Hollywood dress themself anymore? Nobody in Hollywood knows what they like and what they look good in? This stylist thing is a big joke to the rest of the country, where common sense and fending for yourself are still the norm.
