I actually remember a time when Billy Ray Cyrus was “hot stuff.” While he looks like a Botoxed corpse in a bad rug these days, he was genuinely a sex symbol for many country fans back in the 1990s, the “Achy-Breaky-Heart” era. But for years now, he’s been a mess – a messy family, a messy divorce from Firerose and really messy MAGA politics. While I’m sure Billy Ray still gets some attention from the ladies, nothing could have prepared me for this relationship hard-launch with Elizabeth Hurley. They both posted the same photo over the Easter holiday, and it’s clear that they’re really doing this.
It’s official: Billy Ray Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley are an item! After the two stars sparked romance rumors by sharing a photo to Instagram of themselves kissing as they celebrated Easter on Sunday, April 20, PEOPLE can confirm they’re in a relationship.
A Cyrus source tells PEOPLE the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer and Hurley have known each other for years after meeting on the set of 2022’s Christmas in Paradise movie, filmed on the Caribbean island of Nevis.
“Liz is great and visited him for Easter. They’ve been seeing each other romantically for a little bit,” says the source. “And how lucky is he? Liz is lovely. She’s very warm, positive and the best to be around.”
The source adds that Cyrus genuinely enjoyed working with her during filming: “They had a great time shooting that movie together — it was beautiful and relaxed, and it really stuck with him.”
Reps for Cyrus and Hurley had no comment.
It was actually news to me that they worked on a movie together three years ago and stayed in touch. I always think of Hurley as such a ride-or-die Brit, and I can’t even imagine her traveling to… Nashville, I guess? I think he’s primarily in Nashville these days, and he and Firerose finalized their divorce in the state of Tennessee. I missed that when I was writing about Liz and Billy Ray yesterday – I thought the divorce was still ongoing, but no, they quietly finalized it last August. So he is technically single/divorced and ready to mingle. I still don’t know what to say about this… I can’t even come up with one reason why these two people would find themselves in a relationship of any kind.

Honestly this all makes me feel a little better about myself – you can be as physical gorgeous as Liz Hurley, and still end up with…this.
He’s a charismatic narcissist who looks better than many men that age. She’s got a bad picker and is probably financially vulnerable.
I saw the movie that they made together, Christmas in Paradise. It’s a sequel to an earlier film. Kelsey Grammer plays her father. Elizabeth spends most of her time on her farm in the UK, so a farm in Tennessee wouldn’t be that different. Also, Nashville is booming with construction right now, and many people are moving there.
LOL oh god guys this is just such a weird coupling. At least they’re right around the same age? That’s always refreshing in Hollywood. I’m down for some fun summer gossip so I approve of this odd couple.
The diversion I didn’t know I needed from the rest of the world burning down.

I cannot for the life of me fathom this. Is she THAT desperate?? He makes Shane Warne look like a great catch…maybe she wants to do a “re-do” with him like she did with Shane. Good luck with that girl…
I’ll never forget how Hurley got pregnant when dating a billionaire even though he didn’t want kids. She very publicly stated she didn’t want his money because she had her own, she only wanted him to acknowledge the kid. Then when she proved paternity, she promptly sued him for money (but without publicizing it).
Anyway, flash forward about 20 years, and the billionaire dies, but it turns out it wasn’t HIS money, it was his father’s money. And the father set up his trust so that only children born in wedlock can inherit. So presumably Hurley’s son didn’t get the money she counted on. I believe she lost her lawsuit against the ex’s father regarding the trust (the ex also had a daughter out of wedlock who also gets nothing). The lesson is, make sure you know where the billionaire’s money is coming from.
Seeing someone because you think you can “help “him or “fix him” never turns out well. This might be the story of all her failed relationships.
