In March, Lucas Bravo and Shailene Woodley were photographed walking arm-in-arm, looking coupled up. It was shocking! Lucas is a French actor, perhaps best known for playing Gabriel in Emily In Paris (but he was also wonderful in Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris). Shailene is an American granola-cruncher and sun-vadger who dated Aaron Rodgers for years. Shailene and Lucas just came across as a very odd couple and I had no idea how they even met or why they decided to date. But here we are. They’re taking coupled-up vacations together to Slab City, California.
Lucas posted the Instagram carousel on Wednesday, featuring photos with Shailene and Sophie Hawle-Weld (a musician). He also took photos of Salvation Mountain and the “God Is Love” art installation. The vibe is very… Shailene. Like, I’m not surprised that she wanted to go to Slab City or Salvation Mountain. I’m sure she dropped trou and sunned her bajingo right then and there. But Lucas? I’ll be honest, I think it’s weird when Europeans come to America and do offbeat tourist things. I completely understand when they come over for the amusement parks, beaches, sporting events or the shopping. But a French guy wearing a cowboy hat in Slab City? Hm.
I just checked Shailene’s IG too – she has not posted one thing about Lucas. Then again, her IG is like 95% work stuff.

They seem like such an odd match, but maybe he’s more offbeat than you would think from the characters he has played?
Anyway, I think it’s kind of cool when foreigners come to the U.S. and see festivals or areas that are not the typical tourist area. That maybe because I live in the Central Florida area and every time I tell someone where I live they assume that I spend all my time at Disney world but there are is a lot more to do here. That’s the same thing I like to do when I travel to other places. I go to the places where the locals are and see what it’s like to live there.

“I think it’s weird when Europeans come to America and do offbeat tourist things.” I feel like this is precisely why a lot of tourists come to the US in general. There are so many weird places in this country like Slab City that do not exist elsewhere. The USA is a country of many things and Weirdness with a capital W is one of them. Not everyone wants to go to Disney or visit NYC/LA etc. A lot of people want to get off the beaten tourist path and do something “authentic” or out of the ordinary which means something different to everyone.
They do seem like a random couple but I’ve always gotten the vibe from following Lucas on IG that he’s offbeat and a bit of a hippie. Not as much as Shailene but in his own French way.
I know that he complains in interviews that he doesn’t want to be just another French actor but this is too much.

Highly recommend & TBH if they’re a fan of that music then that’s brownie points for me!
I have not tried sunning down there but I bet it feels great, and would not berate anyone for doing it. Shailene is one cool chick! Don’t know much about Lucas Bravo but he’s got a hell of a name for a cowboy.
