Anya Taylor Joy wore two great Dior gowns at the Marrakech Film Festival

Over the holiday weekend here in America, the rest of the world just kept going about their business, obviously. The Marrakech Film Festival began on Friday, and the festival asked Anya Taylor Joy and Jenna Ortega to serve on this year’s jury. Such a smart move – the festival guarantees widespread international coverage by having two of the most-watched fashion girls attend all of the festival premieres. The fashion coverage alone is probably worth its weight in gold for the festival.

So, let’s get to the fashion. On the first day, Anya wore a rather magnificent sack dress from Dior’s spring 2026 collection. Anya has been a Dior brand ambassador for years, and she often wears pieces fresh off the runway. She’s also the face of Tiffany & Co, and she’s obviously wearing Tiffany diamonds. I really love this sack dress, while fully acknowledging that only someone like Anya can really pull it off. I would look like a gothic body pillow in this. On the second night of the festival, Anya also wore a custom Dior in chartreuse, a look which ended the baby-bump commentary from the sack dress the night before.

Jenna Ortega’s first two festival looks were interesting. On the first night, she wore a black Bevza gown. Bevza is a Ukrainian label, and it’s so cool that she’s supporting Ukrainian artists/fashion. On Saturday, she wore a slinky silk-satin dress which was a custom piece from Dolce & Gabbana. I’m not as crazy about this one. I also think Jenna’s styling looks off simply because of her shaved/bleached eyebrow situation.

Anya’s first dress looks like she pulled her arms out of her sleeves.

That’s all I can see with that dress! Someone who took Granny’s black dress with fancy cuffs, and pulled the neckline down around her chest.

If they had put the white trimming around her knees, or on the hem, or literally almost anywhere else, it could have looked lovely. This is just a miss for me.

    • BeanieBean says:

Exactly my thought! She pulled her arms out of the sleeves! And Jenna Ortega’s second dress is really pretty on her. And yay for the no/barely visible eyebrows! That’s my daily life & I don’t want to bother drawing any on!

      Hydrangea blossoms on the pockets.

i CAN NOT wait until the bleached eyebrow thing is over. Why does anyone think this is a good look?

    • Normades says:

      I hate it

At first I thought it suited Jenna and the Wednesday promotional events. But I don’t like that she kept it ever since. It distorts her features unnecessarily. I love both of her dresses here.

      • Sarita says:

Agreed, the bleached eyebrows perfectly suited Jenna on the Wednesday promotional tour with that wardrobe.
I think it’s giving a nod to the 90’s with the pencil brows without the commitment of destroying the brows permanently, which she will be grateful for later. I do think they could fill them in for looks that would benefit from a stronger brow, but she’s been interesting to watch at least.

      It’s an instant rizz killer.

I’m with you. It’s the worst.

    • BeanieBean says:

🤷‍♀️ It’s my natural daily life.

  3. Magdalena says:

I actually like both of Jenna’s dresses and only the black one of Anya’s, though it is not great.

  4. Kirsten says:

I like all of the gowns, but I think Anya should have worn Jenna’s dresses and Jenna should have worn Anya’s.

  5. Sue says:

As a fellow blonde who looks like death in yellow I love that Anya can pull off that color.

I am too distracted by Jenna’s lack of eyebrows and I think she did something to augment her face beyond that. Dear beautiful ladies in your 20s, please stop messing with your faces. Embrace your youth.

    • Normades says:

Both of them have that buccal fat removed face but it could also be very contoured make up. Anya looks healthier she was way too thin for a while. And yes that mustard yellow looks good on her.

  6. Millie328 says:

I think all of these young women are going to want their buccal fat back one day.

    • Sarita says:

I was just remembering how ethereal Anya’s beauty was before the buccal fat removal. She’s still lovely and maybe more marketable, but she had this otherworldly beauty that was uniquely her own. She had that surgery and has grown so remarkably thin that she’s no longer relatable and I feel she lost the quality that made her so striking in roles like The Witch.

      • Isabella says:

What is the theory behind buccal fat removal? It just seems bizarre. Buccal fat is supposed to make the face look younger. Soon we’ll have celebs pumping it back in.
