The Pitt won big at the Critics Choice Awards, how many seasons will we get?

I just started watching Heated Rivalry and it definitely lives up to the hype but it’s like Cinemax after dark in the 90s. It’s really trashy and explicit. My other favorite HBO show, The Pitt, is coming back this week and I’m faced with the dilemma of waiting a few weeks and having a satisfying mini binge or scratching that itch only to have it immediately come back. I’ll see how long I can hold out, although I’m sure to get spoilers.

Everyone loves The Pitt and it took home Critics Choice Awards last night for Best Drama, Best Actor for Noah Wyle and Best Supporting Actress for Katherine LaNasa. In the photos I see Shawn Hatosy is holding an award, which is probably their Best Drama one since there’s no category for Best Guest Actor anymore. Everyone is talking about how hot Shawn was on the black carpet. Thankfully Patrick Ball lost in the Best Supporting Actor category to Severance’s Tramell Tillman, although Tom Pelphrey was also very strong in that category. No disrespect to Patrick Ball because I’m conflating his personality with how sh-tty his character is. (That surely happened to Tom Pelphrey too. Then I saw him in Love and Death and he can act, but I digress.)

These are almost the same categories that The Pitt took home at The Emmys, and I’m sure it will clean up at the Golden Globes next weekend.

Hopefully this means we’ll get like 10 seasons of this show. Both Noah Wyle and series creator R. Scott Gemmill have said that they want to ignore the hype, keep their heads down and focus on the work. That’s a good sign that they’re going to keep delivery quality and consistency.

Katherine LaNasa was in Louis Vuitton. They dressed so many women last night, with mixed results. She looks great and I’m so glad she and Noah won!

How hot are Katherine and Grant Snow? They’ve been together almost 20 years.

Noah Wyle and his wife Sarah Wells have been married 11 years.

Anything with a lot of blood is a struggle for me. So medical shows and horror are hard. I can do some but not all. Especially a more realistic medical show. So I’ve been hesitant to watch the Pitt. Maybe I could make it thru though.
It’s funny bc I still remember Pelphrey from when I’d be at my grandma’s and she was watching Guiding Light. He was good then too lol.
Now I love heated Rivalry. It does get less sex-heavy in later episodes but it’s still got the sex in there. None in ep 5 actually. Still there just mixed in with the sweeter moments. I love it.

I LOVE this show! I binged season 1 again yesterday, in anticipation of this weeks’ resumption. I wonder if they’ll drop 2 or 3, and then make it weekly. Streamers got wise to people joining up for 1 month to binge all their shows, and then cancelling quickly (damn!) lol.

It’s realistic. My niece’s husband can’t watch it because it gives flashbacks to his time in ER during covid. I’m hesitant to watch because I work in healthcare and watch tv to relax

Me too. I worked in a hospital during Covid, and I had a job a few years back in the ER. I watched one episode and saw how realistic it was, and I felt flashbacks. I wish I could watch, but it’s too upsetting for me!

Healthcare worker during COVID as well. I could only watch a few episodes appreciate what this show has gotten right about what it’s like in healthcare (from what I saw) but it brings back to many bad memories and my tv and reading habits are to escape reality.

Episodes 5 & 6 of Heated Rivalry were the gems of the season. So happy watching a gay show that it didn’t kill off one half of the couple (Torchwood) or the couple didn’t end up together (QAF, US).

Can’t wait for season 2 of The Pitt. I like the realistic of it. I plan to catch it up every week.

I’ve held a torch for Shawn Hatosy since In and Out. He is hot!

Definitely don’t let the character get in the way of Patrick appreciation! He’s a friend of mine from grad school and a big sweetheart
