That Lindsay Lohan sure has gotten her act together. Really, she’s got everything going for her: tons of talent, a great, supportive, non-self-interested family, and a reputation as the hardest working actress in show business. Because really, what’s harder to work at than showing up to the set five hours late, still drunk from the night before? Nothing, that’s what. Lindsay’s had about a billion car accidents and run-ins with the law in the last few years. I actually counted, and anything over 17 = a billion. She’s also had three stints in rehab and spent a little time chilling at the morgue, so to speak. All a part of the legal system’s efforts to put the hard-partying actress on the straight and narrow. LiLo is on the cover of the upcoming issue of Paper Magazine, and showed up to the mag’s luncheon ready to chat about all the wonderful changes she’s made in her life.

“My life was distracted by certain things and that got in the way of work,” Lohan, 21, said Tuesday at the Paper Magazine and Diesel luncheon celebrating this month’s cover story. “But now I’m back on track and figuring out what’s next.”

“Lindsay and I have been talking about doing a shoot together for some time and we hadn’t had the chance,” said [designer Jeremy] Scott, who is also a friend. Though Scott is not the only one to have photographed the actress recently, he says, “Everyone always shoots her in a very generic [way]. So we took her and put her on a set and let her act.” He adds: “She’s an actress for God sakes, and sometimes people forget that.”

So what is next for the starlet? She is getting ready to start shooting the comedy Ye Olde Times with Jack Black and David Arquette. Plus, there’s another album in the works.

“I’m recording right now [with] Motown and being in the studio again has been really great,” she said of her “dance, hip-hop and R&B album,” adding, “It’s all coming together.”

Gee, I wonder why people could forget that Lindsay Lohan is an actress? Maybe because she stinks? Because she was nominated for two Razzies in the same category… for her terrible job playing her own twin in “I Know Who Killed Me?” She was good in “Mean Girls” but that only holds you over for so long. What Lindsay Lohan is actually good at is being a train wreck in total denial. And when you’re in total denial and think everything is going your way, why NOT work on an album? Lindsay, here’s an idea. Instead of doing three things poorly, why don’t you just concentrate on doing one thing well? Or even just mediocre would be a big improvement. Thanks.
