Former beauty queen Carrie Prejean is getting married
Carrie Prejean is apart of yet another scandal but this time it’s a personal video of the former Miss California USA. Carrie has come forward about a sexy and personal tape she had made for an ex-boyfriend a few years back and states that it was “the biggest mistake” of her life and now he has “betrayed” her by selling the tape. Ex- Miss California had a chat with Fox News’ Sean Hannity about the intimate tape she made when she was 17 years old on Monday November 9, 2009. Former Miss California Carrie Prejean, who became a lightning rod for the gay marriage debate after stating her “biblical” opinion that marriage is between a man and a woman, is now taking the plunge herself. Prejean is marrying her fiance, football player Kyle Boller, on Friday.

Dethroned “biblically correct” beauty queen Carrie Prejean is about to do something that gays and lesbians can no longer do in California — she’s getting hitched.

TMZ has learned Prejean — a woman — is set to tie the knot with NFL quarterback Kyle Boller — a man — at The Grand Del Mar hotel in San Diego.

The big day is Friday.

[From TMZ]

Carrie gushed about how she saw herself married to Kyle last year. Looks like she is getting her wish. If the reports regarding her true personality and ego are to believed, I wish this guy luck. Something tells me Carrie would be a pretty high-maintenance wife. Being an NFL wife will make her even more high profile, which is the name of her game, right? As for the fiance, he looks like kind of a meathead, which sounds about right – a football player and a beauty queen. How original.

Lebanese-American Miss Michigan wins Miss USA, talks birth control

wenn2848380

Meet your new beauty pageant overlord, people! Miss Michigan Rima Fakih was named Miss USA last night, and many are applauding the choice of a Lebanese-American immigrant – who practices both Christian and Muslim traditions – as this year’s winner. The two biggest incidents of the pageant were Fakih’s almost-stumble as she tripped over her big white evening gown, and when Fakih said that yes, insurance should cover birth control. I agree! Oohh, Johnny Weir was a judge! Fabulous. As was Oscar Nunez, from The Office. Funny. Here’s more from the pageant:

A 24-year-old Arab American from Michigan beat out 50 other women to take the 2010 Miss USA title Sunday night, despite stumbling in her evening gown. Rima Fakih of Dearborn, Mich., won the pageant at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip after strutting confidently in an orange and gold bikini, wearing a strapless white gown that resembled a wedding dress and saying health insurance should cover birth control pills.

When asked how she felt about winning the crown, she said, “Ask me after I’ve had a pizza.”

Fakih, a Lebanese immigrant, told pageant organizers her family celebrates both Muslim and Christian faiths. She moved to the United States as a baby and was raised in New York, where she attended a Catholic school. Her family moved to Michigan in 2003.
Pageant officials said historical pageant records were not detailed enough to show whether Fakih was the first Arab American, Muslim or immigrant to win the Miss USA title. The pageant started in 1952 as a local bathing suit competition in Long Beach, Calif.
Fakih told reporters she sold her car after graduating college in Michigan to help pay for her run in the Miss Michigan USA pageant.

She said she believed she had the title on Sunday after glancing at pageant owner Donald Trump as she awaited the results with the first runner-up, Miss Oklahoma USA Morgan Elizabeth Woolard.

“That’s the same look that he gives them when he says, ‘You’re hired,’” on Trump’s reality show “The Apprentice,” she said.

“She’s a great girl,” said Trump, who owns the pageant with NBC in a joint venture.

In a moment that was replayed during the broadcast, Fakih nearly fell while finishing her walk in her gown because of the length of its train. But she made it without a spill and went on to win.

“I did it here, I better not do it at Miss Universe,” she said. “Modeling does help, after all.”

Fakih replaces Miss USA 2009 Kristen Dalton and won a spot representing the United States this summer in the 2010 Miss Universe pageant. She also gets a one-year lease in a New York apartment with living expenses, an undisclosed salary, and various health, professional and beauty services.

During the interview portion, Fakih was asked whether she thought birth control should be paid for by health insurance, and she said she believed it should because it’s costly.

“I believe that birth control is just like every other medication even though it’s a controlled substance,” Fakih said.

Woolard handled the night’s toughest question, about Arizona’s new immigration law. Woolard said she supports the law, which requires police enforcing another law to verify a person’s immigration status if there’s “reasonable suspicion” that the person is in the country illegally. She said she’s against illegal immigration but is also against racial profiling.

“I’m a huge believer in states’ rights. I think that’s what’s so wonderful about America,” Woolard said. “So I think it’s perfectly fine for Arizona to create that law.”

“The Office” actor Oscar Nunez was booed as he asked the question and asked the audience to wait until he finished the question before they reacted. The panel of judges came up with the questions themselves.

Miss Virginia USA Samantha Evelyn Casey was the second runner-up, Miss Colorado USA Jessica Hartman was third runner-up, and Miss Maine USA Katherine Ashley Whittier was the fourth runner-up.

The young women already glammed up for lingerie shots that became an online sensation and received online ratings from the public before the women face a panel of seven celebrity judges in the live pageant. The racy photo shoot posted on YouTube generated some debate about whether it went too far while drawing thousands of viewers.

Most of the field of contestants from all 50 states and the District of Columbia were eliminated just after the pageant began and the entire group danced onstage to “TiK ToK” by Ke$ha.

A panel of eight judges, including NBA star Carmelo Anthony, Treasure Island casino-hotel owner Phil Ruffin and Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir, were judging the girls throughout the night. It was hosted by celebrity chef Curtis Stone and TODAY’s Natalie Morales.

After 15 contestants strutted in swimsuits, five were eliminated. Another five were eliminated after the evening gown competition. Miss Nebraska USA Belinda Renee Wright won the Miss Congeniality award, roughly one week after her father was killed in a farm accident. Miss Alabama USA Audrey Moore won Miss Photogenic after an online fan vote.

[From MSNBC]

Well good for all of them. I think it’s a little funny that when Miss Oklahoma was asked about the Arizona immigration law, she was all “states rights, et cetera, no racial profiling, whoop!” So she doesn’t really understand the issue, it’s not like she’s a politician. I actually do think it’s a little rude that now these women have to answer very complicated political questions. I guess the pageant was hoping for another Carrie Prejean moment, perhaps for Miss Oklahoma to shout “Send’em all back!” Don’t get me wrong, I do think the interview portion could stand to be a bit deeper, and I like that Fakih was asked about birth control – that’s a great question for a beauty pageant. Immigration law? Eh.

Carrie Prejean’s lawyer responds to boob job story with hilarious statement

wenn5355861
Yesterday, CB told us about the Miss California pageant’s cross-complaint suit against whackadoodle Carrie Prejean. (For those who think “whackadoodle” is too harsh, just look at our Carrie Prejean archives for a refresher on this woman’s insanity.) The war of words, lawsuits, cross-complaints, et cetera has been going on for months, and this latest was nothing new. But it was hilarious, because little Miss Prejean is now being sued for the $5200 boob job tab that the pageant initially picked up. They want that money back, and they basically called her a fraud. Of course Carrie was going to respond… but I really expected her to do a round of morning shows where she could throw around her smug victimhood. This time, though, her lawyer sent a statement to Radar. It’s still pretty delusional, so there’s still humor to be found. My favorite part is when the lawyer claims the pageant’s “friends in Hollywood” are trying to “destroy” Carrie’s reputation:

The beauty pageant world never has a dull moment. Carrie Prejean has responded to the countersuit the Miss CA USA pageant filed against her on Monday. Carrie’s lawyer released a statement to RadarOnline.com where he accused the pageant officials of trying to besmirch Carrie.

“This is just the latest installment in K2 Production’s ongoing smear campaign against Carrie Prejean. They have proven, once again, that they will use whatever scurrilous accusations they can dredge up – or invent – to try and tarnish Carrie’s reputation and her good name. It is both appalling and pathetic to see K2 and their friends in Hollywood try to destroy this young woman simply for standing up for her beliefs.”

Keith Lewis, the executive director of the Miss CA USA pageant, told RadarOnline.com on Monday: “Carrie Prejean asked us for the breast augmentation because she felt it would make her more competitive in the Miss USA pageant. She asked for the money and never paid it back. The surgery cost $5,200.”

Prejean has written a book about being de-crowned as Miss California. Still Standing: The Untold Story Against Hate, Gossip and Political Attacks will hit bookstores on November 9. Carrie’s publisher tells RadarOnline.com that she wrote the book herself, and did not use a ghostwriter.

[From Radar]

In this statement, I think “friends in Hollywood” is code for “gays”. And I think “her beliefs” is code for “All-American, Jesus-lovin’, heterosexual D-cups”. Also, I think the lawyer seems to be saying that pageant officials have been making up the breast implant stories. He seems to forget that the officials might have actually kept the damn receipts. At some point, Carrie Prejean is less a delusional, sad girl, and more of a grifter. I really think of her that way now – she’s in it for the money, the fame, and to get as much as possible while people are still paying attention to her.

Donald Trump hand picks 6 of top 15 Miss Universe contestants: is it fixed?

trump 190406
In a scenario that sounds like something out of a prostitution movie, Miss Universe Pageant owner Donald Trump is said to line up all the competitors and pick out six out of the top 15 finalists based on how pretty they are. He does this out of the benevolent wish that the prettiest girls not be passed up. This little tidbit was revealed by official pageant choreographer Michael Schwandt in an interview with the website Guanabee.

Then he does do something that’s a bit odd. At all the shows, he pops in the day before the telecast and we line up all the girls in alphabetical order behind microphones. And they say their name, age and country. Then we line them up in alphabetical order in one single file line across the stage. And he basically walks by and has an assistant that takes notes on all the girls. And it’s just kind of common knowledge that he picks six of the top fifteen single-handedly. So, the other nine of the top fifteen are judged in a preliminary show the week before and picked by those judges, but he picks six of the top fifteen.

So, he’s orchestrating at least a portion of the results? Right. And, his reason for doing so, as he told me and he’s told the girls before, is that he left it all up to preliminary judging in the past and some of the most beautiful women, in his opinion, were not in the top fifteen and he was kind of upset about that. And he decided that he would pick a certain number and let the judges pick a certain number.

[From Guanabee]

When reached for comment by FoxNews.com, the president of the Miss Universe organization didn’t deny that Trump had a hand in the selection of six of the finalists, but tried to pass it off like other members helped him make the choice. She said that “members of the Miss Universe Organization, including owner Donald J. Trump, selected the remaining six” out of fifteen. It sounds like the choreographer’s story was dead on and they’re trying to do damage control:

But according to the Miss Universe Organization, the information the choreographer gave was “inaccurate and incomplete.”

“As disclosed at the top of each broadcast, members of the Miss Universe Organization play a role in the selection of the Top 15 semi-finalists. In the 2009 Miss Universe competition, a preliminary panel of judges selected nine of the Top 15 and members of the Miss Universe Organization, including owner Donald J. Trump, selected the remaining six,” MUO President Paula M. Shugart said in a statement to FOX411. “A separate panel of judges, introduced live at the Finals telecast, is solely responsible for the selection of the Top 10, Top 5 and the ultimate winner of the pageant.”

Shugart also stated that the system (which has been in place since 2005) is “fully disclosed” to all those associated with the pageant and that the procedure is overseen by the accounting firm of Ernst & Young and NBC Program Standards and Compliance.

“To in any way call into question the integrity of the judging process or suggest the pageant is somehow orchestrated or “rigged” is utterly false and misleading,” she added.

[From Fox News 411]

Do you think that this choreographer will have a job after revealing this information, and how much of a scandal is it that Trump personally selects 40% of the finalists based on their physical beauty? That’s what pageants are all about, but they’re also supposed to be “fair” or at least determined by a panel of judges and a variety of characteristics and personal qualities. For some of the women, attractiveness alone can “Trump” everything else, and that just doesn’t seem right. It’s not that surprising that this is still taking place though, considering how antiquated and chauvinistic these contests are.

Miss California Carrie Prejean and Shanna Moakler kiss and make up

wenn5293433
Miss California Pageant directors and current title holder Carrie Prejean have mended fences in their battle over whether Prejean should retain on her crown. On Monday Pageant directors Shanna Moakler and Keith Lewis held a press conference describing the ways that Prejean had violated her contract with the pageant. It wasn’t about her views on same sex marriage, but that Prejean had become a spokesperson for an anti-gay marriage organization against pageant regulations. She also failed to disclose semi-nude photos and had not contacted pageant directors or responded to their messages.

Despite all the strikes against her, pageant owner Donald Trump announced with great fanfare yesterday that Prejean would retain her title. He focused on her statements on gay marriage and the semi-nude photos as if those were the main issues instead of the fact that she violated her contract on several counts. Trump also made a bunch of comments on how pretty Prejean is, with the cringe-worthy dismissal that “If her beauty wasn’t so great, no one would have really cared” about her remarks on same sex marriage.

Now it’s up to Moakler and Lewis to decide if they’re going to let go of their well-argued issues with Prejean and make nice or hold on to a grudge and probably get replaced. It looks like they all decided to make nice. It also sounds like we won’t be seeing Prejean in commercials extolling the virtues of opposite marriage, since they say that she’s going to “stay true to the contract”:

“Thanks to Donald Trump, we were able to have a meeting with Miss Prejean and her family alone for the first time since the pageant,” Moakler, the co-executive director of the California pageant, tells PEOPLE. “We were able to sit down and communicate and vent our frustrations. I am confident that she will stay true to the contract. I’m looking forward to returning to L.A. and starting fresh.”

After the New York meeting, which also included the other California pageant chair, Keith Lewis, The Donald, who co-owns the Miss Universe Organization, announced Tuesday that Prejean will continue to reign as Miss California USA and Miss USA runner-up despite a spate of bad publicity.

Moakler tells PEOPLE the meeting allowed them to clear the air with Prejean, who angered many when she said she was against same-sex marriage and when semi-nude photos of her surfaced after her win.

“Our issue was never about her opinions about same-sex marriage or the pictures,” says Moakler. “Our issue was with her complying with our agreement. When you sign the contract, we ask you to show us everything you are being offered. That wasn’t happening. After the pageant, we lost control of our titleholder.”

Contestants in the pageant are required to sign a 12-page document that, among several clauses, ensures that they conduct themselves “in accordance with the highest ethical and moral standards” and avoid making personal appearances, granting interviews or making commercials without authorization from pageant officials.

[From People]

I’m really glad there’s no grudge there, because as interesting as this story was it’s time for it to die now. If Moakler and Lewis continued to try and strip Prejean of her title we would be hearing about it for weeks. Now Prejean can go back to being known for being prettier than average, because that’s really what beauty pageants are about. It just gets out of hand when politics are added to the mix.

Here are photos from yesterday’s press conference, thanks to WENN.com. The Donald looks so much like an Oompa Loompa it’s eerie.

Donald Trump rules that Carrie Prejean can keep her crown (update: video)

Update: Here’s Donald Trump’s press conference. He focuses on all the wrong things and talks more about Carrie’s answer than the fact that she violated her contract. “If her beauty wasn’t so great, nobody really would have cared [about her answer to the gay marriage question.]” Trump didn’t you see the press conference yesterday? It’s not about that anymore.

Yesterday Miss California Pageant co-directors Shanna Moakler and Keith Lewis held a joint press conference outlining the many ways current Miss California, Carrie Prejean, had violated her contract. Prejean didn’t inform directors about semi-nude photos she posed for, and signed a waiver stating she had no such photos. She also became the spokesperson for an anti-gay marriage group, clearly violating the contract she signed with the Pageant that said that all representation duties needed to be approved.

You could tell during the press conference that both Moakler and Lewis were incredibly pissed off at Prejean’s behavior and that they both thought she had violated the contract enough to warrant losing her crown. They even named a new “Beauty of California ambassador,” the pageant runner-up Tami Farrel, ostensibly to show that Farrel was ready and qualified to step into the role of Miss California. The decision wasn’t up to them, though.

All of that wasn’t enough to convince ‘ol Pageant owner Mr. misogynist moneybags Donald Trump. Trump ruled today and Prejean would remain as Miss California, citing her beauty as if that was more important than all those legal papers she signed:

Donald Trump just declared that Carrie Prejean will remain as Miss California USA. He said that she had given an honest answer to a tough question, and that there’s nothing wrong with the pictures of her. “We’re very proud of her,” he said, calling her strong, tough, smart and very beautiful.

Ms. Prejean is now giving a lengthy response. “I would like to thank God for trusting me with this large task and giving me the strength to stand by my beliefs,” she said. She also blasted Perez Hilton for asking her a question that she said was politically charged and hid his own personal agenda.

“I am convinced more than ever of the importance of standing up for your beliefs and convictions,” she declared.

[From Blogs.NyTimes.com]

Of course her answer was her own opinion, and she had every right to give it. Does she now have the right, against the rules of her contract, to become the spokesperson for any group she wants? That’s why Moakler and Lewis were speaking out against her, not because she said she preferred “opposite” marriage. Ultimately their pleas didn’t matter and Trump sided with the beauty queen. Maybe he realized that she was making him even more cash with all her antics.

Miss California says she opposes gay marriage

miss usa 140409

Who watches the Miss USA beauty pageant? Women and gay men, right? Do straight men even watch it anymore? If straight men want to see pretty girls in bathing suits (quaint), don’t they have millions of magazines, pornographic sites and videos for that sort of thing? So it’s really just women and gay men, because we honestly like to watch the clothes, make fun of the interviews, play everybody’s favorite game of “Who Has Fake Boobs?” and keep our fingers crossed that someone wipes out in the evening dress category.

Miss California didn’t get the memo about the pageant’s fanbase, however. Perez Hilton, who was one of the judges, asked Miss California Carrie Prejean if she believed in gay marriage. Her answer was… sketchy.

When asked by judge Perez Hilton, an openly gay gossip blogger, whether she believed in gay marriage, Miss California, Carrie Prejean, said “We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite. And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised.”

Keith Lewis, who runs the Miss California competition, tells FOXNews.com that he was “saddened” by Prejean’s statement.

“As co-director of the Miss California USA, I am personally saddened and hurt that Miss California believes marriage rights belong only to a man and a woman,” said Lewis in a statement. “I believe all religions should be able to ordain what unions they see fit. I do not believe our government should be able to discriminate against anyone and religious beliefs have no politics in the Miss California family.”

Co-director Shanna Moakler told FOXNews.com that she fully supported Lewis’ statement. Miss California’s answer sparked a shouting match in the lobby after the show.

“It’s ugly,” said Scott Ihrig, a gay man, who attended the pageant with his partner. “I think it’s ridiculous that she got first runner-up. That is not the value of 95 percent of the people in this audience. Look around this audience and tell me how many gay men there are.”

Charmaine Koonce, the mother of Miss New Mexico USA Bianca Matamoros-Koonce, argued back.

“In the Bible it says marriage is between Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve!”

The pageant had enjoyed a scandal-free year until earlier this month, when Miss Universe 2008 Dayana Mendoza was skewered for a blog posting from a trip to Guantanamo Bay. The entry described having “aloooot of fun” at a base that houses the notorious military prison; it was later deleted from the pageant’s Web site.

The winner, Miss North Carolina Kristen Dalton, a 22-year-old aspiring motivational speaker and entertainer from Wilmington, edged out first runner-up Miss California, and second runner-up Miss Arizona USA Alicia-Monique Blanco, of Phoenix.

“It feels really natural,” Dalton said of her win. “I’ve worked so be here and this has been my lifelong dream and it’s finally here. And whoever knew you could win in a turquoise gown?”

Contestants from all 50 states and the District of Columbia competed in the pageant, aired live on NBC. Contestants were judged by their performance in swimsuit and evening gown modeling contests and their responses to a question asked onstage; unlike the rival Miss America pageant, Miss USA contestants do not perform a talent.

[From Fox News]

If you want to know more about the winner and what prizes she gets, you should read the whole Fox News article. I just found the gay marriage stuff interesting. Yes, I know I’m stereotyping about pageants and gay men, but sometimes those stereotypes exist because of anecdotal evidence. A beauty queen who doesn’t love her gay men is like a Cher tour with no sequins.

Ordinarily, I consider Perez a tool, but I have to give him some credit. Instead of asking the normal brain-dead interview questions, he asked something interesting and got an interesting answer. Instead of having a Miss USA ceremony that was utterly forgettable, they ended up with a controversy that will last a few days. I, too, can’t believe that Miss California got runner-up. It’s a pageant travesty!

Miss Teen Louisiana arrested for dinner theft and pot possession

Beauty queens sure are getting a bad rap lately. Over the last few years there was Miss Nevada Katie Rees, who was caught drinking underage, using cocaine, and performing various lewd acts in public with other female contestants. Then she was arrested and looked ugly – the greatest insult of all. There was Miss Arizona contestant Kumari Fulbright, who teamed up with an ex-boyfriend, his brother, and a third man, to kidnap and torture another ex-boyfriend. She too was also guilty of taking a really horrible booking photo.

Miss New Jersey, aka Amy Polumbo was blackmailed with some not-very-racy photos that had been on her Facebook page. And Miss Puerto Rico, Ingrid Marie Rivera, was poisoned with pepper spray a year ago. And that is to say nothing of the embarrassing stumbles, excessive partying, and issues with Donald Trump that have plagued several beauty pageant constants. Clearly, it’s dangerous to be involved in the beauty pageant circuit – either because you’re going to be harmed or because you’re probably crazy. Or just very, very stupid. And today we have a perfect example of the latter.

Miss Teen Louisiana USA Lindsey Evans and three friends were arrested over the weekend for leaving a Bossier City restaurant without paying their bill.

Police say the 18-year-old Evans of Blanchard left her purse at the restaurant and the women were arrested when they returned to get it.

Police spokesman Mark Natale says Evans and her friends were booked Saturday night on charges of theft after they ran up a $46.07 bill and left without paying. He says the women admitted intentionally leaving without paying their bill.

In addition to the theft charge, Evans was booked with possession of marijuana that was found in her purse. The other women face similar charges. All four were released from jail Sunday after posting bond.

Evans’ reign as Miss Teen Louisiana ends in November. A spokesman for the Miss Louisiana Teen USA organization says they spoke with Evans on Monday but have not decided whether to take action against her. That action could include her losing her title.

[From Fox News]

Well that sounds like a fabulous reason to lock someone up and throw away the key. Not because the crime was so out of this world horrible – clearly I’ve just demonstrated that beauty queens are very likely to poison each other with pepper spray and/or kidnap and torture ex-boyfriends. Running out on a bill and smoking a little pot is nothing. But this girl is dumber than all the other beauty queens, and that says something. There should be consequences. Or at least lots of shame. Something tells me that will happen no matter what, followed by a tearful explanation on the Today Show.

Miss USA Crystle Stewart crashes at the Miss Universe pageant

America really has a problem with balance. Not the country as a whole, just the women we send to worldwide beauty pageants. Last year’s Miss USA went crashing to the ground during the evening gown portion of the Miss Universe competition. This year? Miss USA went crashing to the ground during the evening gown portion of the Miss Universe competition. Awesome. Crystle Stewart, 26, tripped on the hem of her very beautiful – and very long – gown, and next thing you knew the motivational speaker was ass to floor.

No one said the route to being crowned the most beautiful girl in the Universe would be easy. And beauty queen Crystle Stewart was no doubt hoping to make an entrance as she strutted her stuff at the final of the Miss Universe event. But maybe not quite the one she did make, as the 5ft 10in beauty tripped on the train of her dazzling evening gown during the competition and ended up in a heap on the floor.

The reigning Miss USA took a tumble in front of a worldwide audience of 1billion people and shattered her hopes of winning Miss Universe 2008. Stunning Crystle ended up in an ungainly heap after slipping as she emerged on stage for the evening gown section of the contest in Vietnam. The stunned beauty queen briefly sat on the floor before regaining her composure and getting up to applause from the audience.

Before the show Stewart, 26, a motivational speaker and former track and field star said she felt very confident going into the show and couldn’t imagine experiencing the same calamity as her predecessor.

[From the Daily Mail]

Of course the video is all over YouTube… which is kinda sad… and also means it’s going to be all over this article, too. It must really suck to have your drams go down so quickly in front of so many people, and have to act like you’re cool with it. Here’s Crystle Stewart outside the Waverly Inn in the West Village on June 3rd. Images thanks to WENN.

Plus sized Miss England contestant says she’s having the last laugh

17 year-old Chloe Marshall is the first plus-sized finalist vying for the title of Miss England. At a reported 176 pounds and 5′ 10″ tall she’s a US Size 12 and isn’t your typical beauty contestant.

Chloe was on Good Morning America today in a brief segment which Barbara Walters obnoxiously introduced while gnawing on a roll. Chloe says she works out 4 days a week at the gym but that if she wants a chocolate bar she won’t deprive herself. She says Beyonce is her idol, because she’s curvy and proud.

Cloe wants to serve as a role model and says “I’m showing girls curvy is beautiful and this is what I am. Love me or hate me at the end of the day.” As for her size, she admits girls made fun of her in school but claims “I’m having the last laugh.”

Here’s the video from Good Morning America:

And here’s Chloe and her fellow Miss England finalists in a photo shoot on 4/4/08. Notice that the plus-sized contestant is the only one wearing a cover-up.

I admire this girl’s stance, but the snarky part of me thinks she must weigh over 176 pounds since that’s just a barely overweight BMI for her height. Good for Miss England for acknowledging her, although they could just be doing it for the publicity too.

Thanks to WENN for these photos.
