The NY Daily News reports that Scarlet Johansson and Josh Hartnett had a relaxing couples’ massage at a spa in NY where they both live:

He looked great, albeit a bit grungy with a knit wool cap pulled over his head tightly and longish hair coming down around the ears,” a Lowdown spy reported. “I later found out he had just received a massage at the spa there, apparently with his girlfriend.”

This conflicts a report from a week ago that Josh and Scarlet have split up.

Scarlet just bought a nearly $2 million condo in Tribeca, which suggests that she’s ready to move out of the apartment she shared with Josh in the same area.

In a video aired on TMZ, Hartnett hints that he’s having trouble with Scarlet when prompted by the interviewer, and admits that he works on his relationships:

“There’s always room to grow. There’s just a lot of stuff to do, and you can’t be the best at relationships already at 27.”

It seems like Scarlet and Josh are working on it, and we wish them the best.

Are Josh and Scarlett Over?

TMZ is reporting that Josh Hartnett, 27, just broke up with Scarlett Johansson, 21. The relatively low key Hollywood couple have lived together in Josh’s Tribeca apartment in NY since December, 2005, and have been dating for just about a year.

Sexy Scarlett Johansson was out and about at Hollywood hot spot Tokio with friends. Noticeably missing — boyfriend Josh Hartnett. Scarlett was low-keying it, partially covering her beautiful face with a hoodie. So, is the relationship kaput? Rumors have it that he called it quits.

It’s surprising that Josh is the one who supposedly broke up with Scarlett. Scarlett was widely quoted two months ago saying that she didn’t believe “human beings are monogamous creatures by nature.”

Hartnett stars in the movie “Lucky Number Slevin” which premiered in NY last night. Lucy Liu, Ben Kingsley, and Bruce Willis are also in the film. Here’s Hartnett at the premiere and after-party last night. (Josh and Scarlet are shown above in a scene from The Black Dahlia, which has yet to be released.)

Josh Hartnett disses Lindsay and Paris

Josh Hartnett is quoted in Page Six lamenting the role models created by the gossip media:

“What scares me with pop culture is . . . looking at my younger brother and sister and their friends, seeing my little sister’s friends looking, like, to Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton – I just don’t think that’s anything to strive for. I don’t think those girls are too happy. And it’s like, the culture is so focused on a more self-oriented . . . luck-based mentality. It’s just like, get what’s good for you. It’s a herd mentality that I think is really about making money.”

Hartnett is right, after all, and we’re just as guilty for elevating Lohan and Hilton even though we make fun of them. Page Six says that Hartnett may be influenced by his famous girlfriend, Scarlett Johansson, who has a long-running feud with Lohan.
