Vince Vaughn gushes about his new wife and baby on Ellen

vincevaughnellen
Vince Vaughn was on Ellen Friday to promote his upcoming “comedy,” The Dilemma. He spoke at length about his new wife, Kyla Weber, and their newborn daughter, Locklyn, who was born in late December. Vince called his wife “the best girl in the world” and explained that she came into his life at just the right time for him to settle down. It was quite sweet actually.

Vince: Let me tell you something. I met the best girl in the world. It gives you such a great purpose in your life. If I would’ve met her, I would’ve done it a long time ago so I’m very, very happy.
Ellen: I agree with you. You need to meet that one right person.
Vince: It’s being ready for that too. And sometimes, in our industry, well, I speak for myself, maybe that’s an excuse but you don’t mature always at the same time so if I was very fortunate that when I got ready and was open to that, then that person came into my life
Ellen: So maybe if you would’ve met her earlier, then it wouldn’t have worked out. So you met her at exactly the right time.
Vince: Exactly. You have to be ready to receive that. No question.
Ellen: So you have the little baby. Were you in the delivery room when she was born?
Vince: I was.
Ellen: What’s her name?
Vince: Her name is Locklynn.
Ellen: We should start calling her by her name and not “the baby.”
Vince: She’ll have to learn. If I just call her “Baby” then she’ll love the movie “Dirty Dancing” but she won’t know her proper name. No one puts her in a corner. Laughs

It’s so nice when a celebrity reveals how special and meaningful their partner is to them, especially when it’s unexpected.

Showbiz Spy has more from Vince about the birth of his daughter, and he said that he was crying and was an “emotional wreck.” In in earlier interview, Vince enthused about the first time he went to a pediatrician appointment with his wife and their daughter, saying that they were “going to an appointment as a family. It’s just a great feeling.

I never thought we’d hear such personal details from Vaughn, because he just doesn’t seem the type to share that sort of thing. It’s clear that marriage and fatherhood have changed him – for now at least. Is it super bitchy to say that it will get old soon enough?

Vince Vaughn & Kyla Weber welcomed baby girl Locklyn Kyla

Honestly, I had forgotten that Vince Vaughn and his wife Kyla Weber were expecting their first child, so imagine my surprise when I just read that Vince is now the proud father of a little girl. The name? Locklyn Kyla Vaughn. Um… Locklyn? She sounds like a security system. “Trust your family with Locklyn Vaughn Security!” As for giving the mother’s name as her daughter’s middle name… eh. I don’t hate it or love it. If it’s a family name that gets passed down through the generations, I could understand it. But I find it hard to believe that Kyla Weber’s grandmother was Ol’ Grammy Kyla Buttons.

Christmas came early for Vince Vaughn, with his wife Kyla Weber giving birth to a healthy baby girl on Saturday morning, Dec. 18, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

Locklyn Kyla Vaughn, who weighed 7 lbs. and measured 20 inches long, was born at a hospital in Chicago, Vaughn’s hometown. The actor’s rep confirms the good news.

“Both of them couldn’t be happier to welcome their sweet little girl into their family!” says a friend of the couple’s.

It’s a first child for both Vaughn, 40, and Weber, a Canadian real estate agent, who married in January 2010.

When Weber’s pregnancy was announced in July, a source close to the Couples Retreat star told PEOPLE that the pair were thrilled about the baby, saying, “They’re having so much fun together and they’re so excited to be first-time parents!”

Vaughn stars with Kevin James in the upcoming The Dilemma, to be released on Jan. 14, 2011.

I realized I must have sounded like a total bitch just now when I was bitching about the name (seriously, LOCKLYN?), so let me say: congratulations! I’m very happy for Vince and for Kyla, and Kyla has my thoughts and prayers in this, and everything else. Let’s hope Vince’s over-bearing mother isn’t ruining this special time for the happy family.

The obvious and rude question: which one is carrying the baby? Because Vince looks like he’s been gestating for the better part of five years. In Touch Weekly just confirmed that Vince Vaughn and his new wife Kyla Weber (Kyla Weber-Vaughn) are expecting their first child together:

“Wedding Crashers” star Vince Vaughn and wife Kyla Weber are expecting a baby following their wedding in early January, the couple’s rep confirms exclusively to In Touch.

Last September, Vaughn said that after spending years as a bachelor he was ready for his life to be about other things, even a baby!

“It’s the first time that I really want to have kids,” he said. A friend of the couple tells In Touch Weekly the two are “thrilled” about the news.

[From In Touch Weekly]

Congratulations to the happy couple! Does anyone want to send Kyla some flowers? Because that is going to be one gigantic baby, you know it. Even though Kyla and Vince are pretty much newleyweds, they’ve been together overall for about two years, and Kyla has already been put through the ringer. Let’s hope Vince really is ready to be a dad and that he treats Kyla like gold.

Vince Vaughn marries Kyla Weber in Chicago
Calgary Flames v Chicago Blackhawks - Game Two

My first thought when I saw that Vince Vaughn had gotten hitched to fiancée Kyla Weber was “finally!” Which is weird, because they only got engaged last February/March, so it’s not like the engagement was neverending. It just felt that way, because of all of the reports that Vince was looking for a way out, and that Vince’s overprotective mama didn’t approve, et cetera. At one point I even thought they called the whole thing off, but they didn’t. Anyway, Vince’s rep confirms that Vince and Kyla were married on January 2, in Chicago. No mention of what the bride and groom wore:

He’s a swinger no more.

Vince Vaughn married Kyla Weber in a small private ceremony before family and friends on Saturday outside of his hometown of Chicago, his rep confirms to PEOPLE.

Vaughn, 39, proposed to Weber, 31, a Canadian real estate agent, last Valentine’s Day. “They could not be happier,” a friend tells PEOPLE. The wedding took place at a historic mansion.

Vaughn told PEOPLE in September that after years as a bachelor he was ready for his life “to be about other people and other things” – even diaper duty. “It’s the first time that I really want to have kids,” he said.

The is the first marriage for Weber and the star of Swingers and Couples Retreat. Vaughn had previously dated Jennifer Aniston.

[From People]

Hm… do you think Kyla is knocked up? I doubt it, actually. They’ve been together for about two years, so I think if she was going to get pregnant to hurry things up, she would have done it earlier. Michael K at Dlisted is calling Kyla a golddigger, but I’m not so sure. Could it be that she just thought Vince was the best she could do? While I loved Vince in his early days, he looks like a man who smells and drinks too much these days. So, anyway, congratulations to the happy couple!

Vince Vaughn: I’m finally ready to be a dad

fp_3449469_vaughn_vince_mia
Vince Vaughn and Kyla Weber have been engaged since March, and ever since their announcement, it seems like Vince has been trying to sabotage their relationship. Vince likes to have his cake and eat it too – and the man loves his cake, judging from his bloated figure. He wants to only hang out with his guy friends, tour every bar in America (and then some), flirt with the chicas, and come home to his doting mother, all while maintaining his “relationship” with Kyla. But Vince wants us to know – in time for his new film Couples Retreat - that he’s finally ready, at the age of 39, to settle down. Yes, it seems Vince is experiencing “the first time” he ever felt like being a dad. But is he ready to actually settle down with one woman, and not the neverending stream of bar-girls and college students?

Vince Vaughn swings no more.

Now engaged to Canadian real estate agent Kyla Weber, Vaughn, 39, says he wants to start a family and settle down.

The funny guy even says he’s ready for diaper duty. “It’s the first time that I really want to have kids,” he told PEOPLE while promoting his new comedy Couples Retreat.

“I’ve been very fortunate in my career, and my life has been about that for so long that you get bored of it. You’re ready for your life to be about other people and other things,” Vaughn said.

While filming the movie – costarring his longtime pal Jon Favreau and directed by another friend, Peter Billingsley – Vaughn spent time in exotic Bora Bora with his soon-to-be wife and members of his family. “We had a lot of fun, which was good, and my sister was there and my nephew was there,” he says.

And his buddies have given their approval.

“I’m very happy for Vince. He’s marrying an amazing girl,” says Billingsley, the former child star of A Christmas Story. “It’s a natural cycle of life that we all go in.”

But Billingsley admits one thing is dramatically different from the days when Vaughn and Favreau – who starred in the 1996 Swingers – were making the Hollywood scene.

“The parties are a lot different than they used to be – that’s for sure!” Billingsley says. “I still come with the point of view to have a great time, but it’s kids and strollers and babies and clowns.”

[From People]

Maybe he has changed and I’m just giving the guy a hard time. Could be. It’s just that Vince incites a bit of rage in me. I used to love the big lug, many, many years ago. But now I look at him and I just think he’s pissed away his talent and he’s pissed away his good looks. Maybe he’s happy doing comedies – obviously, there’s a lot of money there. But he was once a really good actor, and now it feels like he only gets the “buffoon” roles. As for his personal life, I think Vince, much like George Clooney, has started looking around the room at his friends, and he’s just realized he’s the last unmarried guy, the only guy without kids. My guess is that he wants to get married and be a dad because he thinks he’s at that age, but really he still wants to hang out in bars and be skeevy.

The other night, Vince appeared on Jay Leno’s show for a short interview to promote Couples Retreat. Jay made him do the segment “Earn Your Plug”. Jay made Vince workout with 95-year-old Jack LaLanne. LaLanne made Vince do dips in a chair, which Vince did with little effort and good humor. After Vince finished, he gave LaLanne a big kiss, which was really sweet.

Vince Vaughn & Kyla Weber are still together & still engaged

vaughn5
When I first saw the pictures of Vince Vaughn out to dinner in Los Angeles over the weekend, below, I had to do a double-take. I truly thought it was John Goodman at first. Vince hasn’t looked hot in a long time, but his rapid physical decline is a little scary. He’s put on a lot of weight, and that hairline just keeps creeping back, faster than Prince William’s. Yikes.

Anyway, it looks like Vince has found a girl who will stick with him through thick and thicker. His fiancée Kyla Weber joined him at dinner at Madeo, even though he was dressed like a bad Sopranos extra. On Sunday, Kyla and Vince went to his hometown, Chicago, where they took in a Chicago Cubs game:

Vince Vaughn may be a guy’s guy, but he still knows how to treat the ladies. The actor cheered on his hometown team the Chicago Cubs as they beat the Los Angeles Dodgers yesterday and he brought along his fiance Kyla Weber for all of the fun. A onlooker gave RadarOnline.com the rundown of Vaughn’s chivalrous sports etiquette so pay attention boys!

“Vince brilliantly walked the line between devoted sports fan and doting partner with Kyla. When he wasn’t clapping and rooting for his beloved Cubs, he had his arm around her in a really easy way,” the onlooker said. “He was constantly looking over at Kyla with a smile on his face.”

“It was a beautiful Sunday in the park which they shared with each other and another couple.”

[From Radar]

I can’t even begin to describe how surprised I am. Back in May, there seemed to be a string of stories about Vince being a big ol’ mama’s boy who refused to stand up for Kyla. There were multiple stories about Vince ignoring Kyla so he could still hang out with his buddies and act like he was still the Big Man on Campus. It looks like Kyla stuck with him through a rough patch – and they might be closer than ever. But we still haven’t heard anything about a wedding date being set, have we? They got engaged in March - but still no sight of a wedding gown. Will they just end up one of those permanently engaged couples?

Is Vince Vaughn treating Kyla Weber like crap, hoping she’ll dump him?

infphoto_891673
We’ve already heard the sordid tale of Vince Vaughn, his fiance Kyla Weber and his mother. Something about Mama Vaughn not thinking some random Canadian slut was good enough for her baby boy, and doing everything in her power to make sure Kyla heads for the hills. In that story, and in Mama Vaughn’s defense, Vince is a big, fat baby who won’t stand up to his mother, and won’t stand up for Kyla. My advice to Kyla at the time was “Run, Kyla, run!”

Now Kyla’s got more problems – it seems Vince isn’t prepared to give up his frat boy ways. Kyla is “fed up” with Vince’s partying and his douchebag friends, and she thinks Vince is out there hooking up with random girls all of the time. Vince tries to console Kyla by telling her he’s never strayed, but she doesn’t believe him (I wouldn’t either):

Vince Vaughn proposed to his girlfriend, Kyla Weber, earlier this year, but according to an insider, some friends are wondering whether they’ll ever make it down the aisle.

“Kyla is fed up that Vince still parties with his guy friends,” the insider says, noting that his notorious playboy reputation doesn’t help. “She’s heard stories of him flirting with other women, and she’s not pleased.”

The insider adds that Vince insists that he loves the Canadian real estate agent and he’s never strayed – he just likes hanging out with his pals. But Kyla isn’t so sure.

“They’re still engaged, but their future looks kind of iffy,” the friend says. “Some of their pals won’t be shocked if they call off their engagement.” A rep for the actor denies the report.

[From In Touch, print edition, June 8 2009]

Doesn’t Vince seem like one of those guys who, when he wants to break up with a girl, starts treating her like crap so she’ll break up with him? I think that’s what’s happening with Vince and Kyla. He’s not ready to settle down, he doesn’t want to give up his friends or stand up to his mother, so he’s just waiting until Kyla breaks off the engagement. Run, Kyla, run!

Vince Vaughn’s mom & his fiancee are going to kill each other

fp_1887611_vaughn_engaged_e
This story is hysterical. It seems that recently engaged Vince Vaughn is caught between two women – his mother and his fiancee, Kyla Weber. Kyla and Mama Vaughn (Sharon) are fighting all of the time, and if Star Magazine’s report is anywhere close to the truth, it looks like Vince’s mom needs to get a major grip.

Kyla and Vince are planning on moving into the Chicago residence he purchased in 2006 (when he was with Jennifer Aniston) after the renovations are complete. Ah, here in lies the rub. Mama Vaughn wants to oversee the renovations to her son’s house, and decorate everything to her style. And no, Mama Vaughn is not going to live with the engaged couple. Sharon is just doing this because she lives her wittle-woogey boy, and Sharon doesn’t want some nasty slut fiancee running in and changing the very special dust ruffle she picked out.

Kyla is obviously perturbed by these developments. Not just Mama Vaughn’s decorating, but the gross Oedipal codependency Vince and Sharon seem to have. Run, Kyla, run!

Vince Vaughn is caught between two women! The actor’s fiancee, Canadian real estate agent Kyla Weber, and his mother, Sharon, clash constantly – and mama’s boy Vince can’t do much to defuse the explosive situation.

“Vince wants to make both of them happy, but it’s rarely possible. Sharon can be overbearing and likes to have her way, and Vince doesn’t like to confront her and upset her,” an insider tells Star. “That makes it hard on Kyla. It was a problem when he was with Jennifer Aniston too.”

Things have been particularly tense between Sharon and Kyla since they both began remodeling and refurnishing Vince’s three-floor Chicago residence, which he bought with Jennifer but then took over after their December 2006 split.

“Kyla wants to make the changes, since she’s the one who’ll actually be living there, but Sharon is not thrilled about her ideas,” says the insider.

“Sharon already decorated the place the way she wanted it and doesn’t like it when people question her decisions. She flipped when Kyla changed the bedding!”

Although Sharon’s “claws really came out” after Vince, 39, proposed to Kyla, 29 – her dad confirmed the engagement in March – trouble has been brewing between the two women for months, says the insider.

“For Christmas, Vince got his mom and Kyla the exact same car, so Sharon wouldn’t be offended – but he didn’t tell Kyla. Neither Mom nor Kyla wanted the cars after they found out.”

Ultimately, the hard-charging mama bear is likely to prevail in the battle of wills. “Kyla’s really a nice girl, and she hates having all this drama,” says the insider.

“She;s beginning to pull back and just let Sharon have her way.”

[From Star Magazine, print edition, May 18 2009]

I love that “mama’s boy Vince can’t do much to defuse the explosive situation”. He could tell his mother to chill, couldn’t he? He could, oh, I don’t know, take his soon-to-be wife’s side and actually stand up to his mother for two seconds. All I could think when I read this was “Oh, that’s why he never got married… he’s already got a wife, his mother.” Kyla probably thinks that if she stays, she’s smart. That old broad can’t live forever, right? But if Kyla was really smart, she would get the hell out of there.
