My guy Gerard Butler should have spent Thanksgiving eating my mashed potatoes (in more ways than one) on Thanksgiving, but instead he decided to hang out at The Groucho Club in London with a couple of sl-ts. No, they’re not really sl-ts. Well, one is. That’s Kimberly Stewart, Rod’s daughter. The other I’m not sure about – Natalie Imbruglia. Is she a sl-t? She once dated David Schwimmer and was recently attached (in the press) to Prince Harry. That’s all I really know about her. I will say this – Gerard looks like he would have had a better time eating my mashed potatoes.

Last night Gerard Butler turned his charm on two more famous starlets – singer Natalie Imbruglia and socialite Kimberly Stewart. The trio enjoyed a Thanksgiving dinner held at London’s Groucho club, where they partied until the earlier hours of this morning.

Both Natalie, 34, and Kimberly, 30, are both single, as is the 40-year-old Scottish heartthrob.

He also attracted the attention of a few overzealous female fans, who chased him down the street as he left the club at 3am.

Gerard, who is on a promotional visit to promote his new film Law Abiding Citizen, says he’s not entirely comfortable with his reputation as a womaniser.

He said yesterday: ‘I think it does do your reputation harm if this is happening every week. It gets to the stage when you want to go, “Don’t come near because then we’ll be having a thing! Stay over there and we maybe can shout to each other”.’

The star is still on the look out for The One, but seems in no real rush to lock down a serious girlfriend.

He said: ‘It would be good to settle down eventually. It’s not like I’m sitting there with laser vision going, “OK, are you the one?” because what I’m doing is great as well.’

Of course he’s still on the lookout for The One. He hasn’t met me yet. And I’m starting to hear that by the time he finally gets around to proposing (any day now), he’ll have all of the venereal diseases known to man. Ugh… Kimberly Stewart? Really? Natalie Imbruglia I could maybe get on board with, temporarily. But I get the feeling that Natalie, Kimberly and Gerard went back to his place for a threesome, otherwise known as “the forbidden mashed potato”. Sob! He still has time to find me before Christmas.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie hit the red carpet at Cannes for the premiere of her animated feature Kung Fu Panda. Angelina looks lovely in a low-cut forest green flowing dress that emphasizes her growing assets while Brad is dapper in a suit and tie, short hair and a goatee flecked with gray. The couple looked happy and relaxed, smiling and laughing as they shared a private joke. Ten to one they’re making fun of Eva Longoria’s ridiculous dress. What the hell is that tulle monstrosity she’s wearing? She looks like a figure skater who’s about to whip off the back of her skirt for her next number after her photo op. And look how she’s posed with her arm out at that awkward angle.

I just love when a couple divorces – wait, don’t judge me yet – and then they trade up. I’m so happy that they’ve met someone new, with a little bit of revenge factor in it for their ex. For example, Angelina Jolie splitting with Billy Bob Thornton and getting together with Brad Pitt is definitely trading up.

When it comes to the Natalie Imbruglia divorce from Daniel Johns, I’m not sure if her new man is an improvement. Daniel Johns is sexy and talented and they share a passion for music, but Sam Branson would have to be one of the most eligible bachelors in England. The thing is, he’s 23 while Natalie is 33.

The ‘Torn’ singer – who recently split from husband Daniel Johns – was seen canoodling with the Virgin tycoon’s son Sam during a bash at London’s Kensington Roof Gardens.

The £100,000 ski-themed party was held to celebrate Sam – who at 23 is 10 years Natalie’s junior – leaving to go on an Arctic expedition.

An onlooker said: “They are pretty besotted with each other and Natalie is even talking about meeting him in the Arctic.”

Natalie was last linked to Razorlight rocker Johnny Borell. He managed to get hold of her phone number and called ‘constantly’, according to the Daily Mail. How does this guy meet all these beautiful women? He’s been linked to Kirsten Dunst and Emma Watson too – what do they see in him?

Natalie went on holiday last month with fellow Australian and Neighbours alumni Kylie Minogue. They traveled to Maritius, where they had a girlie good time, with massage and beauty therapy. I had Natalie Imbruglia’s song “Torn” stuck in my head for most of 1998, which has led to an unfair dislike of her. Similar dislikes have been applied to George Harrison and MC Hammer for the same reason. Imbruglia, 32, hasn’t ever been able to reproduce her late-nineties success, but managed to get several mascara-based makeup contracts, thanks to her lovely eyelashes. I think that’s about all she’s had going for her in America, but she’s managed to stay on the radar in her native Australia. In 1999 she met Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns, 28, at the ARIA awards, and the two were married four years later on New Year’s Eve. Now the pair has announced they’ve split, much to the dismay of their friends and family.

Friends of Natalie Imbruglia and Daniel Johns are shocked by the couple’s split, days after the stars looked happy together on an Australian Christmas break. On Boxing Day, they were pictured holding hands and smiling after a dinner with friends at a restaurant in The Rocks. The next day, Imbruglia was seen outside her home, carrying a bottle of wine and wearing her wedding ring, with Johns, 28, by her side.

But only a week later, Australia’s hottest music pairing had called it quits. The marriage lasted four years. One friend said yesterday the speed of the breakdown in the relationship was still a shock.

“They always looked so great together,” the friend said.

The pair released an official statement, which blamed the dissolution of their marriage on their career demands. It probably doesn’t help that they reside halfway around the world from each other, Imbruglia in England, and Johns in Australia.

“While we are very sad that our marriage has ended, we want to make it clear that our parting is amicable, and we remain friends,” they said. “This mutual decision has not been taken lightly or quickly.

“However, our career demands and our lives in different parts of the world have brought us to the point where unfortunately this difficult decision was necessary for both of us. We have simply grown apart through not being able to spend enough time together.”

Daniel Johns made headlines in 1999 when he told Rolling Stone that he had anorexia. It was a rare admission for a male celebrity, but one that brought him a lot of positive support for sharing his struggle. He made the admission after he dropped to 110 lbs and rumors began to swirl that he had a drug problem. Johns also struggled with depression and has gone through reclusive periods where he’s barely left his home. It’s obviously not possible to say if any of his old issues resurfaced – few marriages could withstand living on different continents.
