CB pointed out that people are going to compare Angelina Jolie’s Salt Toyko premiere dress to Jennifer Aniston’s Golden Globe dress this year – probably because they’re both black and both had a thigh-high slit. But when Aniston wore that Globe dress, she was accused of copying Angelina Jolie’s 2009 Cannes dress with the thigh-high slit. No word on just who both of them were “copying” before that – I think Nicole Kidman probably did thigh-high slits years before. Plus, it seems like Angelina’s dress (in Toyko) has some kind of faux-turtleneck feature, rather than a buffet of tittays.
Anyway, I’m sorry these photos aren’t the best. I was going to wait until other agencies had them up, but you Brangaloonies are obsessed, so here you go. I like her hair. The dress isn’t horrible either, I just wish the photos were better. I’ll add more as they come in.

I actually think that dress would be gorgeous on someone else. She doesn’t have the body to pull it off. She wanted to be look elegant, yet she comes up with a plain dress showing her weakest body parts and she has a hair-do no one would envy her 🙁
That dress looks fabulous on Angelina. FABULOUS. It is the very essence of couture. Its gorgeous. Angelina also has the legs needed for that split to make it sexy and not sleazy like that other chick did. Also Angelina has the the elegance and poise to make the dress sizzle. She is fab in it.

I Love dresses with big thigh high slits.Although I Love Anistons body and especially her legs,when she wore the dress with the big slit her legs didn’t look that good.Both times Angelina wore a thigh high slit dress her legs look amazing,better then when she is wearing a mini dress.I guess the thigh high slit dresses are for skinny long legs.So Angelina should stay with the slit dresses and Aniston with the mini dresses.

I think she’s a lovely woman, but this dress is seriously fugly. I don’t know if it’s the picture quality, but it looks like it’s made out of a cheap material, like a nylon/polyester blend or something. And the top half looks twisted, like she accidently put it on backwards and got interrupted 1/2way thru twisting the tag to the back.
Hair is pretty 90s wedding, but her makeup looks great at least.

The fabric is too diaphanous for the underpinnings. Dresses that Hollywood actresses wear have a whole network of underwear-like items so they don’t look lumpy and weird in their tight tight dresses.
The problem with this one is that you can clearly see the under structure of this dress because the fabric is so billowy and cheap-looking AND it tightens at the widest part of her waist. It makes her look at once boxy, old, skanky and inelegant. How you do that with one dress, I will never know.

@Ellen Smith no. 27, bulging veins aren’t due to drug addiction. I have arms like hers (and a similar tattoo too, unfortunately) and I’m not an addict, for god’s sake! It’s low blood pressure and extreme thinness.

@Denise Angelina experimented with drugs years ago in her early 20s. Her veins are do to heavy lifting and just hard work. I know tons of tiny, size 00 people and they don’t have those veins because they aren’t really doing much hard labor or lifting heavy children. Some people just have them. It doesn’t make her gross, it doesn’t indicate there is a health issue (at least in Angie’s case), and its not bad. I mean nothing people should be criticizing or insulting.
The dress is truly fabulous! But as other posters have mentioned the hair is way off. She would have done much better with a chinon and some modern earrings. However, she could wear a hefty bag with a belt and still look good.

@ Denise- I am an RN who has taken care of many heroin addicts. They aren’t “known” for protruding veins, in fact, they usually have horrible veins because they shoot up and destroy them.
As for the outfit and styling: don’t like it. I think it looks matonly and that is hard to do with no back and a thigh high slit. She looked great at the Russian premiere but I really don’t like this styling.

Just make this perfectly clear. Angie did the drug in question like once in her early 20s. She wasn’t an avid user and she didn’t have a habit. So Angie may have experimented with heroin but she hasn’t done it nearly enough to have any physical signs. Her veins aren’t caused by drugs. Just lots of lifting, stunt work, and just being busy.

That dress had better look fabulous in person, because it photographs terribly. It looks like really cheap viscose or rayon. I have had semi-casual tops and little cardis like that and they look grand in person, but don’t photograph well.

As for the arms issue, I don’t know many junkies, but the crowd who used to gather across from where I worked, did tend to keep their arms covered due to scabs and infections. Any other well-known recovering heroin users (in the context of my country) are still skinny, but don’t have especially veiny arms.
@ Denise- I think that was probably specific to your friend. I’ve taken care of at least 100 herion addicts and I never seen veins like that on them, we usually have a hard time starting IV’s on them, because their veins are so bad. Also someone who was trying to hide their habit would not shoot up were track marks would show, they would shoot up in less seen areas. And my mom has veins like Angelina and I KNOW my mom isn’t a drug addict.

@Denise: heroin addiction collapses veins, it doesn’t make them more prominent. One of the biggest medical problems in transfusing a heroin addict is the medics can’t find a vein.

Kama I’m looking at the June 2005 Vanity Fair and there is nothing about heroin use. So either you are mistaken or simply lying. AJ has admitted to experimenting with many drugs before she became a mom.AJ had the same veiny arms while pregnant so I guess she was shooting up while pregnant. @Lena they aren’t excuses. They are facts hon. Angelina certainly has a lot of upper arm strength from what I have seen and on top of being a mother, Angelina does to her own stunt work and she does use her arms frequently in combat training, weapon training, and when on a wire, like she was for Salt, she has to use her arm muscles for holding her self up.

@lena – I’m an average looking girl body-wise and I bicep curl 20lb weights, can do ‘real’ pushups, leg press 250lbs – again, it’s genetics. She obviously has a body type that won’t show large muscles no matter how much she lifts. I’m the same way. You’d never know I can lift as much as I do by the size of my muscles.
My Mom is a lab tech in a hospital and intravenous drug use collapses veins. Often, drug users have to collect blood for her (usually from between their toes) because she can’t find a vein to access to get a blood sample from and they can.
Her veins are likely genetic. I have very obvious veins and I’m by no means super skinny. They just lie closer to the skin than for some people. If I was super skinny my arms would be like hers.
I think she looks great for the first time in ages. This dress doesn’t make her look so frail and skinny. He face looks gorfeous! For the last two years, she has looked burnt out and tired all of the time. This is the first time we have seen her look vibrant and alive in years.
There are pics of her in Korea holding Shiloh and Zaraha so she is strong enough to carry 4 and 5 y.o.Thanks to the nurses who pointed out addicts have collapsed veins.

@ Alex, I have to disagree, when she exercised/lifted weights or whatever for tomb raider training it showed. So I don’t buy the she doesn’t have the body type for it argument. I am sitting right next to a Double 00 size woman. She doesn’t have a protruding vein anywhere. I do a lot of heavy lifting (disabled child) and I don’t have any veins either. I suppose it could be a genetic thing, my granny had big hand veins & one of my sis’ inherited them, but I have never seen arms like that. Eeek. Arms aside, I think this is a terrible look for her. The dress is morticia-ish and the hair palin-ish. She looked much better in the white dress in Mexico.

For some reason, I dont like her with up-dos. It looks so…. matronly. As does that terrible dress. I imagine it would look ok on someone with the body for it ie a few more curves, but on a bag of bones like this piece, it just looks like she got caught up in the curtains in a ghost ride.
The tiger tattoo on her back looks good tho’, probably her only decent bit of ink.

@Heaven Bound you aren’t the first person to tell me that. I am just a fan and thats pretty much it. I haven’t put anyone on a pedestal. I don’t see why defending someone is suddenly a bad thing.
I always laugh when the people who claim to dislike Angelina go on and on about how terrible her movies are. REALLY. who goes and spend $10-14 dollars on a film of a person they don’t like. AND it is so obvious from the nasty critique of the film. It is so funny that the none fans spend so much time reading about her, writing nasty comments, reading all her interviews, memorizing every quote and statement. All for a woman they can’t stand. DAMN I am sure there are celebs that would love for some of you to dislike them a bit. You pay to see the movies, buy the magazines, seek out threads and blogs that are talking about her.. MAN if that is hate… (laughable)..

AJ and Halle Berry are by far the most beautiful actresses along with Penelope Cruz. But sometimes AJ hairstyles look ridiculous and takes away from her beauty. She looked STUNNING at Comic Con. I’m glad she put on about 10 pounds. She needs another 15 and will be back to being majorly hot.
Maybe Brad asked her to please gain some weight, because he was worried about her health. Plus the kids. I like the dress but that color of hair and style needs to die.
Can’t believe she is only 35 when she has weight on her she looks younger and her age. She is also stunning. IF there is going to be a Salt 2 sometime around 2013 she really needs to put on muscle and the weight. It will make a big diffrence. Damn when she hits 40, Brad Pitt will be 52. Not thats a bad age diffrence, and she probably could care less. If she wanted to be forever forever with Billy Bob Thortnon who was way older and nowhere near sexy like Pitt.
Hopefully Brad will age like Denzel, or Johnny Depp and Tom Cruise. Say what you want about Tom but dude seems to age super well.
Her dress was absolutely sexy. Her hair tho, could of been put up differently. Jennifer anniston wore a very similar thigh high slit black dress to her press conference.
