We’ve done a lot of coverage of Natalie Portman’s new Darren Aronofsky film, The Black Swan. To be fair, it looks pretty good, and the gossip surrounding the film is interesting too. The Black Swan is the film where: 1) Natalie worked her ass off to look like an authentic ballerina, 2) Natalie met her hot boyfriend Benjamin Millepied on set, 3) Vincent Cassel, bitches and 4) Mila Kunis makes a big play to be a legit dramatic actress. Anyway, The Black Swan is getting its big premiere at the Venice Film Festival today, and these are some of the first photos from today’s photocall. Mm… Cassel. He must have come straight from the beach. I bet he still has sand in his hair…GUH*Y#R^*(*. I need to cross my legs, my goodness.

Oh, right, Natalie. Her dress is cute. I like the color. Otherwise, meh. She better bring it for the premiere.

Do like how Cassel is a haunting figure back there? And are those seersucker pants, or are they just cords? They’re snazzy, whatever they are.

    She is really pretty

  2. Fluffy Kitten Tail says:

I just do not see what everyone else sees in him. He looks like a cartoon character to me.

And sorry Kaiser, but those pants are awful, whatever they are.

  3. LOVE ANGELINA says:

I much prefer a man in a suit, a well tailored suit. His body just needs to be half naked, naked, or in a suit. He is still so amazingly hawt and totally makes…well wet. I can’t think of a clever way to term that. The photo call is a very causal event but these people look like they are going to the fu*king mall. I am not liking. I hope I get some glam from them at the premiere. Natalie’s dress is cute but I wear things like in the summer when I am going to the mall. She makes wish I was at the mall right now.

  4. Gwen says:

I think I need to cross my legs too :O

  5. Babouleine says:

Kaiser, I love your writing and your humor!

I recently read an article on Vincent Cassel in Elle Québec magazine (in French unfortunately). Here are some highlignts. He is indeed living in a different country than Monica Belluci. He has to put on close to 50 pounds to play in the movie on Mesrine (excellent by the way). Since he looses weight while filming a movie, they started by shooting the scenes where Mesrine was at his biggest! And beside his wife and 2 daughters, he loves surfing and Brazil.

  6. LolaBella says:

I am hypnotized by…the pattern on Vincent’s pants.

Hopefully he’ll bring the hotness with better attire in Cannes.

I’m looking forward to seeing this film; the promos look good.

  7. original kate says:

“meh” all around on this one.

  8. pink says:

Natalie is so nice and she’s vegan (I appreciate that)
Vincent is very fascinating with a wonderful italian wife (Monica Bellucci)!

  9. RHONYC says:

what’s the haps with her legs?!

ouch! they look beat the f$ck up.

looks like she went all out for this role. 🙁

  10. eja102 says:

see, her as salander I buy.

  11. Cam says:

They are both dressed too ‘casual’. Natalie is beautiful, though.
And Kaiser, you’re awesome. (Felt the NEED to say that)

  12. spinner says:

Natalie looks gorgeous. I hope she brings it this time with a less stilted performance.

  13. K-MAC says:

I love that you used the word snazzy……he does look just that and dreamy too!

  14. Kittypants says:

Vincent Cassel can butter my croissant any day of the week.

  15. Sumodo1 says:

What’s the fuss over Cassel? He ain’t no Steve Buscemi!

  16. JuiceinLA says:

I am really stoked for Mila to get her “big Break” so to speak. She is my favorite of her generation…. I hope this does extremely well.

I haven’t been to the theater to see a ballet movie since White Knights- Oh Baryshnikov, sigh. But I will want to support this one.

  17. danielle says:

I’m not crazy about Portman – love Mila Kunis tho!

  18. Strawberry says:

@Sumodo1: Steve Buscemi – what the WHA!? I have to put my foot down.

    Jon Hamm = sexy
    Casey/Ben Affleck = sexy
    Michael Fassbender = sexy
Colin Farrell, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Mark Strong = sexy

Steve Buscemi, Vincent Cassel = not the sexy. But good character actors, fo’ sho.

  19. Maritza says:

Nope, I don’t find him attractive at all!

  20. Heaven-bound says:

She looks pretty, but those shoes look big on her.

  21. LolaBella says:

@Kaiser: I just saw the pics of them from the Venice Film Festival premier for this film and Vincent looks so sexy in his suit!

  22. Mistral says:

Oh Vincent! So sexy and stylin. A man’s clothes tell a lot about him, and Vincent’s laid back outfit say he is adventurous/brave (seersucker?), original/creative, and very sexy (because confidence is sexy, and he is wearing fricken’ seersuckers). Le sigh.

  23. Nanea says:

Kaiser, can I expect you to cover each and every promo VC will do for his next movies, please and thank you!

  24. dj says:

Not only do I not find him sexy. I find him creepy!

  25. lucy2 says:

He doesn’t do much for me either.

I’m looking forward to this film though, I saw a long trailer and it looked good, plus I like Mila also.

  26. Azurea says:

If I’m not mistaken, Cassel’s pants look like moire, which would be a very strange choice for mens’ pants…so I think they are a large moire print on a plain background.

  27. Camille says:

I don’t care for Natalie as an actress normally, but she is very pretty to look at. I love her in purple, so pretty.

  28. mslewis says:

I just don’t get it!! Cassel is NOT sexy; not even a little bit. He looks a little bit unhealthy, especially in the face. But, to each his/her own.

True story . . . a couple years ago (maybe 3/4, I can’t remember) I was in Cannes (took the train there from Cap d’Antibes while traveling through France). I didn’t realize the film festival was going on. Anyway, it was the year Brad and Angelina were there and also the boys from “Entourage.” At one point I wandered near a small crowd of people outside a theatre when a buzz started and a woman and a man walked by. I turned to a woman who was French and asked who they were and she looked at me like I had just fallen out of a tree!! Another woman, also French, told me it was Cassell and Monica and what a dummy I was for not knowing that. Well, she was stunning but he was like, oh well!! From the small size of that crowd and the enormous size of the crowd when Angie and Brad strolled by the next day, I don’t think Vinnie is all that popular in France either!! Just an observation.

P.S.: Somewhere on the internet is a photo of me with Adrian Grenier and another with Jeremy Piven. They were very nice and both are quite handsome in person.

  29. mslewis says:

Oh, I forgot . . . I am looking forward to “The Swan” since I love ballet and this movie sound good. I’ve seen one trailer and it looks kind of dark and brooding but still good. I want to see it and the one called “Mao’s Last Dancer” which is about a male ballet dancer from China. I imagine both will be in art houses rather than widely released so I won’t have an easy time seeing either.

@azurea . . . I think his pants are seersucker and the strip makes them look like something else.

  30. Jeri says:

This movie is the only one I’m looking forward to (well, maybe The Town).

    Not for Natalie either.

  31. snappyfish says:

Natalie Portman is pretty but a prig. Very stuck on herself and her “intellect”. But I am looking forward to the movie. Love Mila and think she is lovely and hope this will be her big break.

Cassel is ruggedly handsome, not at all pretty, but he has something that makes you interested, and love his accent

  32. Solveig says:

I love Aronofsky’s movies but I have the impression that this one is as pretentious as The Wrestler.
The red dress Natalie wore during the evening’s red carpet was amazing (at least it seemed amazing, I saw just one pic).

  33. irena NL says:

Never thought there was anything attractive abt. Natalie physically & never cared for her personality.

  34. Call Me Al says:

Never seen him before but he’s f-ing hot. He’s got an interesting look and is unexplainably attractive, kind of like Lyle Lovitt. She’s a snob and a half and her dress is too young for her age. But she’s beautiful and can act. I’ve always admired her acting since “The Professional”.

  35. NicoleAM says:

I’m too lazy to do the research on my own, but was Vincent in that movie Eastern Promises or am I mistaking him for a look alike?

  36. DD says:

omg! she looks perfect. Love the dress and she is just absolutely beautiful in an effortless way.

  37. Kittypants says:

@NicoleAM – You’re right, Vincent was in Eastern Promises.

  38. Stronzilla says:

He should do a remake of Now, Voyager. He is just made for that scene where Paul Henreid lights two cigarettes in his mouth and passes one to Bette Davis. Of course, I would be a ticket to see VC do anything with his mouth.

  39. Liana says:

cannot STAND Natalie Portman, but she looks lovely in these photos. I wish I could wear that dress without looking like a dope (I’m definitely a jeans and tank kinda rockergirl)
