Lindsay Lohan can somehow afford to buy diamonds in rehab

Remember how Lindsay Lohan is broke? Remember how she cried poverty to the judge and said that she needed to be out of rehab because she needed to work to pay her rehab bills? Remember how Lindsay said – in a submitted report to the judge – that she didn’t have a few thousand dollars to rub together and that’s why she needed to be out? Remember how PETA said they would pay her rehab bill if she tried vegetarianism? Yeah. Well, our Lindsay has spent her Thanksgiving holiday shopping… for diamonds. Because she’s SO broke.

Yeah. According to Fame Pictures, Lindsay spent Saturday shopping in Palm Springs. First: how dumb is this bitch that she goes shopping for diamonds on a day pass from rehab just a month after she cried poverty? Second: Why isn’t this crackhead LOCKED DOWN, for the love of God? She’s barely spending any time in actual rehab. Her rehab experience has been all about shopping excursions and crack hustling and Starbucks and smoking cigarettes and lip injections and dressing inappropriately. In other words, just like home. Ugh.

Here are some more photos of Lindsay “in rehab” at Starbucks and the jewelry shop, smoking a cig and being a crackhead.

Ditto, Kaiser. Lock the freakin’ crackhead up already! She’s not doing a GD thing that actually focuses on REHAB/SOBRIETY! Unless she’s switched out her alcohol & crack addictions for smoking, shopping, and caffeine. That’s not sobriety; that’s exchanging addictions. For the love of all that is Holy, does no one else see this? I’ve totally lost faith in Betty Ford. I used to think it was a reputable rehab facility. Now, not so much.

  2. Yasmine says:

Omg this is hilarious: The pendant she’s wearing is a Shia Muslim sword called a ‘Zulfiqar’. Shia Muslim men often wear that pendant and I now I guess it’s Hollywood crackheads too! Granted, I’m sure she didn’t know that, but it’s still a funny thing for her to spend ‘the money she doesn’t have’ on. Also, agree 100% with bellaluna that it’s not sobreity.

  3. bellaluna says:

And I love (not) her lack of subtlety at showing off her new purchase. You know, doing everything she can to put that hand up in front of her face (and the cameras) to show it off. UGH. This bitch.

  4. Innocent says:

The reason Lindsay isn’t “locked down” is because she played the system to perfection.
Serious “voluntary” rehab which provided her with good reports and persuaded the Judge to not incarcerate her.
Claimed she couldn’t afford more rehab hoping the Judge wouldn’t force her to complete the 90 day program but even IF he did she would have done (24 days) most of the hardest part when it wasn’t court ordered which was the 30 days inpatient at the clinic.
This isn’t a day pass per se as people in the sober house get freetime in the evenings and weekends.

  5. louise says:

I think it was TMZ who said that after 4-6 of rehab, she went to a sober house. I don’t know what sober houses are exactly but I’m assuming that they are a transition from a facility to real life. Personally she probably should have stayed in a rehab longer before going to a sober house.

  6. Shelley says:

What is that purse?! I want it but I’m sure I can’t afford it.

  7. la chica says:

the diamond is on her ring finger. maybe she and Ronson got married?

  8. Me11 says:

Rehab is such a joke for Hollywood stars. The totally use it to avoid being sent to jail. Which we all know they deserve to go.

  9. HakuraChii says:

The only thing *I* don’t understand is why she would take a chance at going and buying something *so* extravagant. She (of all people) knows that every time she sees the light of day outside the rehab routine, the paparazzi are going to be further up her ass than a colonoscopy. She knows that they’ll document what she’s doing, which will not do much to endear her to the judge.

I can’t decide if it’s supposed to be a big ‘middle finger’ to the world (Like: ‘I can do whatever the hell I want to. I’ll just give the judge a sob story about how I’m addicted to shopping too’).. or if she’s just *that* stupid. I *do* feel bad for her, I take seriously the fact that she has a legitimate issue in her life that’s not easily beaten. I just can’t help but find her behavior frustrating as hell.

  10. whitedaisy says:

She needs to go to Hazelden in Minnesota.
It is serious and effective rehabilitation.

  11. bellaluna says:

    @ louise –
My sister’s been in rehab for 7 months, and she “graduates” the program at the end of January. Upon graduating, she has chosen to stay at the same facility. “Sis” will be allowed to have her cell phone (not allowed now); will be able to start school; will be allowed to find a job OUTSIDE the facility (not allowed now); and will only have to pay $300/month. Meals & utilities are included, and she’ll still have all the support she needs to stay sober. “Sis” is also in a private facility; our parents are paying for it because we all really want her to succeed, and she’s doing very well.

  12. boobytrap says:

i am equal parts annoyed and entertained by the lindsay stories. annoyed b/c she is now beyond all repair (and a piece of me feels sorry for her that her career is kaput).

but i am entrtained b/c seriously, this only means that the new year will bring more antics, likely another arrest, with lindsay taking yet another nosedive.

    i’m a ‘half full’ kinda gal…

  13. sara says:

This girl told the people she kidnapped that she could do whatever she wanted because she was a f-ing celebrity. There is no hope for this little mess.

  14. Innocent says:

    @HakuraChii
The ONLY reason she went to rehab is because the Judge tried to hold her without bail.
If she got bail or was actually sentenced and got out early because of overcrowding she would have never entered her 5th rehab.

Now as long as she complies with her probation then after February 25th she can do what she wants.
However if she violates before then its 180 days with supposedly no early release.

Basically her current behavior shopping when she told the Judge she couldn’t afford rehab or if she goes out to bars in January won’t make any difference to her legal situation.
After she finishes rehab she can avoid jail as long as she doesn’t fail any drug/alcohol test.

  15. d says:

You can take the girl out of the addictive environment, but you can’t take the addictive environment out of the girl when it’s deep inside her in the form of years of indulgence, denial, ignorance, addictive personality, etc.

Rehab, or even jail, the best doctors, the best therapists, the best programs, won’t work if that person is just not ready (or even capable of) to make some serious, deep change in their life. It can years of hard, hard work and maybe not everyone is cut out for it.

Lindsay is who she is. If she were a different person, the story would be different, but I think that with everything in her life that’s made her who she is, we’re looking at at a person who, unfortunately, will be judged after her death (I’m predicting an early one) as someone who didn’t live up to their potential. Everyone wants hr to be that sweet kid in her early movies, but she’s not the person you see on film. You can’t force someone to be who you want to be, or to change.

She’s whoever she is and all we’ve got to go on are her actions, which may or may not tell much. But imo, what they indicate to me is that there’s just not much there.

It’s a sad thing, but life is littered with people like this, just not as famous. And I think Lainey has it right: she’s wasted years of potential in terms of personal and career growth and has very little left over to build on. I don’t know…it’s like, life is hard and not everyone makes it.

  16. original kate says:

    she makes me ill.

  17. caramia says:

She should be plastic surgeon shopping cause those duck lips look ridiculous, how can she smoke crack with them?

  18. HakuraChii says:

@Innocent – I honestly didn’t realize she had been in rehab *that* many times. I knew this wasn’t her first, but not that it was to that extent. Forced rehab is a waste of time… both her’s, and the court’s.

I think the thing a lot of people who become addicted have in common is issues with their childhood/parents/family. I’ve gone through quite a bit of that myself, so I guess that’s why I can’t help but empathize. Her mother is an enabler who really does take advantage of her in the extreme. And her father is just a nutjob who has done everything in his power to use her fame to his advantage. Part of me truly believes she didn’t stand much of a chance, having to grow up with those two as parents. Even had she *not* ever become famous. Not that it can be *entirely* their fault, but a large part, surely.

Not that I don’t think she could improve, but not with her life the way it is right now. She may even have to distance herself from everything (Parents/show business) in order to become better.

  19. wunderkindt says:

This looks like rich folks faux ‘rehab’ to me.

Sadly, Lindsay will probably revert back to exactly the same user behavior once she is ‘free’.

(The diamond ring example shows that Lindsay still has no impulse control! She cant wait until later when the cameras arent on her. She just wants what she wants now and doesnt think about consequences. That’s part of the problem! The Shia sword pendant is funny though.)

However, I think she looks a whole lot better now with more weight on her body. It’s a big improvement:At least she isnt haggard, starved looking, and her skin looks 100%better. But how long will this last once she’s done?

  20. normades says:

    Damn she dumb

  21. Bodhi says:

I bet someone else bought it for her & she just went to pick it up; though I have no idea who would do such a thing

  22. Carrie says:

@d: well said. I concur completely.

Underneath all the addiction, the dysfunction, the family, Lindsay is a shallow, selfish, silly young woman. There is no depth to her, no compassion and self-awareness that might point to a recovery and reemergence as an actress.

I also completely agree with Lainey. Lainey can be a judgmental bitch, but she is right on about Lindsay. LL never established her “niche” as an actress, that thing she does in a film that no other young actress can do. The industry has moved on without her, discovered other young actresses to be enamored of (Carey Mulligan, Blake Lively, Emma Stone…) and to fill all the same roles that Lindsay might have been offered had she not pissed it away.

She gets papped because she’s a mess; if she cleans up her act, what attention will she get then?

  23. DoMaJoReMc says:

@ bellaluna: I will pray for your sister’s success and happiness! She obviously is taking it seriously! Congrats to her, she is blessed to have the will and a good, strong, loving family!

    Bless her! : )

  24. bellaluna says:

@ DoMa – Thank you so much. It was so completely devastating to us when we found out she was as addicted as she was. But she really is doing so well. Anything I can do for her, I will. And I’m very grateful that she is able to stay where she is upon completion of her “program” and stay focused on her recovery. We’re very blessed.

  25. Shelley says:

Must have that purse – please ppl help me here!! What brand is that?!?! Yes I am having a shallowness fit. I will say that I too am disappointed in Betty Ford. Encouraging outings to better enable someone to re-enter the real world is fine. But shouldn’t those outings be to, for example, do some honest hands-on hard work for a charity (I mean 8 hour days of true work for weeks and with a Zero Publicity mandate); to visit some colleges; to consider careers other than, in her case, that which has led her only into self-destruction and the attempted destruction of others? As an example, LeAnn Rimes’ ex-husband was a successful backup dancer who trained as a chef, graduated at the top of his class, and has now opened a highly successful restaurant.

  26. Samigirl says:

If she can afford diamonds, she can afford a makeup artist to help her with her bronzer. The “E” technique is what us MAC Pro folks do, and it is much more attractive than this whole heavy handed applications to the cheek hollow. I shiver when I see this woman’s makeup.

  27. Jennifer says:

There is no one size fits all rehab. I prefer a CLEAN Lilo out shopping and smoking ciggies than a cracked out one, no?

That said, I think that girl has a long road of hard work ahead of her if she truly wants a better life for herself.

  28. Someone Else says:

    @bellaluna–

I’m with DoMaJoReMc — my prayers are with your sister and your family. Based on her choices, she seems determined to be successful and I (personally) know that that’s half the battle.

Oh – and ditto on Lohan. What a tool.

  29. bellaluna says:

    @ Someone Else –

Thank you. We do appreciate it. My sister lost EVERYTHING (unlike Blohan), and I do mean everything. My 3 nephews now live with their father in another state; she’s lost her home and her car. When she completes her stay at the “halfway house” portion of rehab, we don’t know where she’ll go. It just breaks my heart…

  30. Eleonor says:

@Bellaluna: in Italy we say “in bocca al lupo” to your sister. It literally means “in the mouth of the wolf” which is a way to wish the best to someone (I hope I explained it well).

I think Lindsay was lying, when she said she can’t afford rehab.

  31. Dani says:

You cannot help those who don’t want it and she does not want help. The beauty of addiction is that it leads to the illusion of grandeur. She thinks there is nothing wrong with the way she acts or destroys herself because she has enablers all around her who are willing support her in her habit. It’s not really that complex.

If you truly want to learn how an addict thinks or acts, go to an NA meeting. More than one. A lot just play the system if they’re forced to be there and go right back to using once they’re off of probation. The drugs use them, not the other way around. Vicious cycle we’re going to see with Lohan here.

  32. Marie says:

As a woman we all have those days where we just don’t feel the best about ourselves, you know all I have to do is take a look at one of Lohan’s pics and I’m all better. Thank you Lindsay.

  33. Jeri says:

Lindsay’s making sure her diamond ring is “front and center” for every photo, just like the “f-ck you” decal she wore on her fingernail in court.

She’s still tipping off the paps for every outing she goes on.

  34. Jenna says:

that is a ridiculously UGLY shirt!

  35. CB Rawks says:

I truly hate her. If her crackhead behaviour results in further damage to anyone else, including many and various car-jacking victims and side-swiped babies, I swear to god I’ll call in some favours and have her put down. I know people.

  36. Kim says:

It looks like she is at Zales or some other cheesy mall jewelry store? That ring is cheasp looking so Im going to assume a cheap ring from cheap jewelers.

  37. Crash2GO2 says:

“I don’t know…it’s like, life is hard and not everyone makes it.”

    Word.

  38. abby says:

Hey, it looks like she might have gotten the jewelry 40% off! And if she has a store credit card, she might have saved even more!
