Lindsay Lohan’s “career comeback” in jeopardy because she’s a crack thief

lindsay_lohan_3_wenn5600252

It’s always a good week when Lindsay Lohan is trying to crack-lie her way out some crime, whether or not it’s beating the hell out of a rehab employee, or simply heisting some jewelry in full view of security cameras. By the way, in these photos, Lindsay is wearing the stolen necklace – allegedly. It looks different in these photos than the ones from yesterday at TMZ, but sure. Whatever. Anyway, these are just a few more updates to the story. TMZ reports that because the jewelry store’s surveillance tapes don’t have any audio, Lindsay may avoid charges, because it would be her word against the jewelry store owner’s. Meaning that Lindsay’s crack-lie about “borrowing” the necklace might hold up! Ugh. Meanwhile, Radar has more details about what went down during the crackhead investigation:

Los Angeles police were contacted immediately after a Venice jewelry store suspected Lindsay Lohan had stolen a $2,500 necklace from their establishment, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively, but waited to issue a search warrant until they’d seen the troubled Hollywood starlet actually wearing it.

According to a law enforcement source, “the [jewelry store] staff noticed that the necklace was missing soon after Lindsay left the store. The LAPD was notified that day and a police report was filed.”

Our source said the report was filed well before pictures of Lindsay wearing the necklace surfaced, which made for further evidence, as well as an investigative tool for police.

“It’s almost as if Lindsay wants to get caught,” our source said. “She is photographed everywhere she goes. Past allegations of Lindsay being accused of stealing are being looked at also, even though she has never been charged before for allegedly stealing.”

“Things aren’t looking good for Lindsay — she could be looking at state prison,” our source said, adding that even the Mean Girls’ star’s skilled attorney Shawn Chapman Holley “won’t be able to get Lindsay out of this one if Lindsay is charged. There is just to much evidence against Lindsay this time.”

Our source said that a chief reason police waited a few weeks to request the search warrant was because they wanted to see if Lindsay would wear the necklace.

“Investigators wanted to see if Lindsay was going to wear the necklace in question,” our source said. “The store owner worked with cops, and Lindsay was caught on camera several days ago wearing the necklace. It was after that picture was discovered that cops went to the judge to get the search warrant.

“Cops wanted to make sure the search warrant was approved, and they took the extra step of having a picture of Lindsay wearing the necklace almost ten days after the alleged theft.”

We caught up with Lindsay’s father Michael Wednesday, and he denied any wrongdoing on his daughter’s part.

“I’m not going to let people continue to distort things: Lindsay never stole a necklace,” Michael told RadarOnline.com exclusively. “People give Lindsay things all the time on consignment and when they need to be returned, they’re returned. Bottom line — that’s it.”

Lindsay, 24, returns to court February 25 for a probation hearing.

[From Radar]

The DA is apparently still looking over the evidence, but I’d like to think that there is enough proof to go forward with charges, especially if this jewelry store owner wants to press charges. Meanwhile, Lindsay’s cracked-out heist may be costing her a job! Shocking, I know. Apparently, Lindsay had tentatively signed on to star as a “troubled starlet” in One Night With You, but if this crack heist drama heats up, she won’t be able to do the film. Crack sob for Lindsay.

  1. DGO says:

She’s been known to steal before. She took clothes from a friend, and stole some Russian girl’s fur coat from a club.

  2. tooey says:

fugly necklace; I wouldn’t wear it even if I stole it…

  3. brin says:

Wasn’t that freebie heart necklace she got from a jeweler good enough, she had to steal one? The only comeback for her is jail.

  4. Kathy says:

Guess I’ll go ” borrow ” a piece from my local jewelry store today!

  5. Kaiser says:

tooey – I’ve actually been thinking about this, and here’s my take on the pendant: I think it’s probably an uncut gemstone pendant, and it probably came with some kind of protective leather sheath that protects the gem. I think this crackhead is wearing the necklace WITH the leather sheath.

  6. macey says:

a big ugghhhhh @ all these ‘prison threats’ for her. I think everyone knows by now that the tabs add in the obligatory ‘she could do prison time’ just to beef up the story. we all know nothing will happen to this waste of air other than her name will stay in the news for another cpl weeks over this.

  7. QUEST says:

ba ha ha ha….listen people, she is just practicing for her role, don’t you get it. She has signed on as “troubled starlet” in One Night With You.

The best cracked-out-lie-excuse ever. She is an A_C_T_O_R rehersing for the role. Add klepto to her resume. LMAO.

  8. brin says:

Hold on, maybe she & Charlie Sheen could do a show called “Lifestyles of the cracked out and infamous”.

  9. Roma says:

I love how the LL camp is all “well the store owners knew where she lived, why didn’t they come and ask for it back?” Well, because if a private citizen tried to barge into her house to get they necklace they would in turn find themselves being charged.

And I still call BS on the pro-Lindsay TMZ reporting. There is some shady ass bias going on lately.

  10. maria says:

Ugh – even if it was returned, how can you resell something that spent any time on Lindsay Lohan? Gross.

  11. SixxKitty says:

let me guess, it was a misunderstanding and her assistant/scape goat will be fired for it.

  12. eja102 says:

    oh dear.

It does look like she is wearing the little leather baggie. (sheath).

I could have done without the cleavage close up.

  13. whitedaisy says:

I had hope for her recovery when they included the intensive psychotherapy, but she is not going to rise above all of this.
While I don’t think her latest shenanigans will result in prison, this continuation on a downward track will not end well.

  14. l says:

why is she wearing a bathrobe?

  15. whybenice says:

“People give Lindsay things all the time on consignment and when they need to be returned, they’re returned.”

How does this giving stuff on consignment work? “Oh–you don’t want to buy it for $2500? Why don’t you wear it for a couple of weeks then?”

    C’mon, man!

  16. brin says:

    @Kaiser…that is hilarious!

  17. anoneemouse says:

“…even the Mean Girls’ star’s skilled attorney Shawn Chapman Holley “won’t be able to get Lindsay out of this one if Lindsay is charged. There is just to much evidence against Lindsay this time.”

Yawn. Right. Believe it when I see it. At this point the girl could go up to anyone and do anything and get off.

  18. anoneemouse says:

@Kaiser – I’ve seen her and Sam both were those ugly leather things around their necks before. Believe that’s where Lindsey keeps her stash…

  19. Ruby Red Lips says:

OMG, she had a film role lined up!!! How many chances does she get??!! Still not convinced she will be charged over this regardless of the hype.

She needs to be charged, sent to a state prison for a long time, have no film work etc and really hit rock bottom as she’s obv not hit that yet, then just maybe, she may stand a chance at life again

Very sad, but she is not the same cute little girl she used to be, she is a messed up criminal addict who currently has no intention of ever changing

    Example of the Hollywood dream!!

  20. TaylorB says:

Any store that ‘loans’ her anything at this point should know that they aren’t gonna get it back.

  21. logan says:

who is all this insanity would put this person in a movie? As my dear departed mom would say, and I quote “Must have s**t for brains”. Mom was a tough old gal. But then again none of her 5 kids ever did time in jail, did drugs or stole other peoples property. Grow yourself a pair Miss Lindsay and join the real world.

  22. lucy2 says:

If they filed the police report the DAY she walked out of the store with it, clearly they weren’t letting her borrow it and it was just returned late, as her camp was claiming.
It sounds to me like there’s pretty solid evidence, but she’ll probably get off easy again. Though wouldn’t committing a felony be a serious probation violation?

  23. Riley says:

They had some attorney on the Today Show this morning talking about LL and the attorney wants to see Lindsay back in jail. I wonder what kind of person would willingly have Lindsay Lohan as a client? The day I have to call myself Lindsay Lohan’s stylist or Lindsay Lohan’s assistant or aid or crack picker upper, will be a very dark and sad day. Who are the bitches that are on her payroll (as if she has a payroll)?

  24. becky says:

yeah ive seen lindsay wearing this long ago, i thought the leather thing was a new trend in LA lol! but if its a new one and shes wearing the cover, well…
she’s so sneaky that fur coat she stole at One Oak, she left the club and called some guy from her car and told him she forgot her coat if he could grab that for her. disgusting. bitch can never say shes wrong or tk responsibility, and has everyone else doing her dirty work for her.

  25. Kat says:

Other news outlets are reporting that LL is saying that her stylist stole the necklace.

This crackhead will never get better because her sense of entitlement is bigger than her will to survive.

  26. Innocent says:

    @anonemouse
That is Radar just trying to hype up their “exclusive” story that everyone is now reprting on.
I don’t think ANYTHING will happen and neither does Lindsay.
    http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2011/02/03/source-lindsay-lohan-worried-facing-prosecution-alleged-jewelry-theft/

  27. Roma says:

@Innocent: Okay I have to ask. You post like you are in contact with Lindsay. Do you talk with her or is this one of those “I just know what she’d think” type of deals?

  28. LittleFATMe says:

This is SO unfair! How can anyone NOT see how this is ALL someone elses fault? Lindsay has been a hard working straight laced stand up gal since birth and people are so jelly of her talent and ability that they lie and frame her! This is awful! All this poor, innocent CHILD wants to do it work and make art!
You people who support sites like this are as sick as the people making up this trash!
    LoL
Oh, man – that was rough. I almost broke down in laughter tears like a MILLION times just typing all that. How was it? I was going for blind with a hint of Dina Lohan! 🙂

  29. Fuzzy Cat says:

Lindsay Lohan is the female Charlie Sheen.

  30. Jacq says:

@Riley – no one wants to represent her. SCH tried to quit her ass, but with no one else willing to take her on, Holly was ordered stuck.
You know how else you can tell Michael Lohan was lying? Immediately preceding the quote included above was “I don’t like to comment on my daughter…”

  31. Cherry Rose says:

Why does Shawn Chapman Holley stay as Lindsay’s attorney? If I was her, I’d have jumped ship a long time ago. And how on earth does Lindsay pay her if she’s so broke?

Why is it that Winona Ryder was shunned in Hollywood after getting caught shoplifting, and yet Lindsay’s been caught several times, yet Hollywood has done nothing to her?

  32. Innocent says:

    @Roma
    No i’m just a fan.
In the article i posted a link to it says Lindsay is confident she done nothing wrong and just think that the store wants publicity.

  33. Hakura says:

@Kat“Other news outlets are reporting that LL is saying that her stylist stole the necklace.”

I know this is probably a stupid question, but was this alleged “stylist” even in the jewelry store with Lindsay when the necklace ‘disappeared’?

(I say alleged stylist because I can’t imagine any stylist worth their salt would let Lindsay go out dressed the way she does.)

I agree about the leather ‘pouch’ cover for a gemstone necklace. I would’ve suggested she was keeping it covered for the paps so they wouldn’t recognize it so easily, but that’s not even the necklace she’s being accused of stealing this time, is it? (Perhaps she’s keeping it covered because she stole that one too, & the pendant part would be easily recognizable while uncovered.)

  34. Marie says:

If I were her stylist (first I have way to much self respect to work for her) I would punch that lieing, stealing, crackhead right in the throat for blaming something like that on me.(of course I would put on triple ply gloves first, before touching her). I have been and will continue to be known as a lot of things in my life and a thief will never be one of them. Even an accusation of being called a thief would send me over the top.
And as for the close up of her chest, yuck!

  35. original kate says:

umm…what “career comeback?” she is constantly referred to as the “mean girls” star, and that movie came out 7 years ago.

  36. bluhare says:

You guys, the stolen necklace is the short one not the long one with the pouch.

And in my opinion it’s backwards in the photo. That looks like the clasp in front.

  37. Jayna says:

The stylist is not going to lie for her. She could be arrested. All she will be able to do is say Lindsay gave it to her to give back. If she concocted a story when she gave it to the police it could implicate her. LiLi needs to go to jail. She’s a thief and it isn’t the first time – the fur coat. But after you get out of rehab and all the counseling she’s been through and then do this, just wow. She’s clueless and hopeless right now. Tough Love.

  38. Ruby Red Lips says:

    “No i’m just a fan.
In the article i posted a link to it says Lindsay is confident she done nothing wrong and just think that the store wants publicity.”

    Two things:

A fan of a crackhead lying stealing junkie…hmmm – good choice there Innocent!

Secondly, why would the store do this for publicity?? Lilo stealing one of your pieces – oh yes great publicity!

Lilo is just as delusional as @ Innocent!

  39. Boat says:

    I agree with anoneemouse.

  40. Ruby Red Lips says:

Must stop posting in a mo, but just checked TMZ, who are basically saying Lilo will get off..excerpt below:

“In order to charge Lindsay, the D.A. must prove she had a specific intention to permanently take the item as she walked out the door.”

    Crap – she’ll get off…again…no consequences ever!
Guess Innocent will be happy that their crack idol is going to be free to roam and steal and do whatever else illegal stuff she fancies!

(Last comment for now, must get a life!! ;))

  41. Jayna says:

To me, she could say she tried it on and forgot about it and walked out the door. But here that explanation fails is she then wears it a week later fully knowing she didn’t pay for it. So fail. Lock her up, please. Thief.

  42. dread pirate cuervo says:

Ok, lets say some jeweller was dumb enough to “loan” Lindsay a piece. Wouldn’t there be some paperwork involved? Some sort of insurance? Don’t celebs that get multi-million dollar pieces for the Oscars & such, get bodyguards to keep an eye on their bling? You would think Linsday would have to give them an 8-ball as collateral or something.

  43. sapphire says:

Er, TMZ shouldn’t practice without a license.Try that circumstantial evidence may be used to show intent.

  44. Hmmm says:

How can this drug addicted narcissist’s word carry more weight than a store owner’s? Has this store complained before about others, making stuff up? How about all her dealings with the law and jail? That’s means nothing? I don’t get it. It means she can walk in anywhere, heist something, and walk away free. What am I missing here?

  45. jm says:

Its not that big leather thing she’s wearing, you see that tiny skinny gold chain? It seems from other websites Ive read that is the necklace in question. Lindsay is most definitely a thief, but $5000 for that, yikes, that is robbery!

  46. Lady LaLa says:

    I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn I’ll sell ya…..

  47. icantbelievethis says:

I remember when TMZ said LL would get off during one of the hearings and the Judge sent her straight to jail.

when did TMZ start sounding like People?

  48. Amy says:

Add this to the long list of things she’s stolen. I mean, she’s on video tape stealing it. The store isn’t looking for publicity- They can’t even release their name! I hope they prosecute.

Remember that mink fur coat she stole from some girl in NY? After her lawyer threatened litigation, the coat somehow turned up back at the club. And Lindsay was photographed wearing it leaving the club. She’s a criminal. Anyone else would have been locked up for grand theft.

    See Also:
$35,000 rolex from “friend”. She was photographed wearing it.
$49,000 from photoshoot. They got her credit card number in case she swiped the jewels (lesson learned from the Elle photoshoot)and then charged the credit card when she didn’t return them, only to find she cancelled the card!

    $10,000 of Lauren Hasting’s Clothes
Apparently, Lauren just swung by a “friend’s” house and took $10,000 worth of her clothes. 5 seperate witnesses saw Lindsay take things out of Lauren’s closet and hand them to her body guard.

Louis Vuitton Samples -According to the NY Post “Lindsay kept shoving the clothes into her bag, and a stylist’s assistant kept getting them out of the bag, only to have Lindsay keep trying to take them. She ended up walking off with a very expensive shirt and some other items.”

Why is she not in jail??

  49. happygirl says:

Amy! GREAT points! Thanks for that! And…I don’t know why she’s not in jail YET **crosses fingers** but it’s time, people. It’s TIME.

  50. Raven says:

She has not change rehab was just something she did to stay out of jail X17 online have photos of her coming home from a party at 3 in the morning covering her face what person in recovery party’s all hours and hangs out with the same people they did when they were on drug and still get onto crazy trouble. She still as fuck up as she was before she does not want to change because if she did she would have got rid of the friends stay out of trouble and away from partying which she has not done.

  51. albeli says:

TMZ is now reporting that the jewelry store in question has a very involved process for loaning out jewelry, including signing forms and making sure there’s insurance in place.

So yeah…apparently Lindsay didn’t do any of that.

I’m still hopeful she’ll go to jail.

  52. Liana says:

“In order to charge Lindsay, the D.A. must prove she had a specific intention to permanently take the item as she walked out the door.”

    **********

Oh really? So now, if I wanted to, I could take something that didn’t belong to me and as long as I “intend” to return it, it’s not theft? Really?

And could she stop with the biting her fingers in photos? It’s not cute or sexy or anything other than stupid.

  53. NayNay says:

I’m surprised the ‘White Oprah’ hasn’t commented yet. Her mother is usually the first to come up with all the ridiculous excuses for her daughter. Is Dina actually going to keep her trap shut?

Let’s all face it, you know this little bitch is going to get off easy like she always does.

  54. Hakura says:

She’s obviously getting a thrill out of the risk taking involved in stealing. (Like with Wynona, taking things she could probably afford to buy…Though I’m not so sure about Lindsay’s finances.)

I know she’s always had a history of this (as Amy@48 has so well documented), but it looks like she’s turned to stealing as her main source of ‘high’ in place of substance abuse, while she’s on probation.

    Not exactly a great substitute.

  55. Gabriela says:

Did she have a career in the first place? Wow.

  56. mia girl says:

Many people are missing a chip… this girl is missing the entire motherboard.

  57. Matt says:

Anybody who loans this kleptomaniac jewelry should face charges for STUPIDITY.

Idk, I’m not standing up for crackie, but this has a whiff of BS about it.

  58. LindaR says:

She’s not the thief. The jewellery store is for putting a price tag of $2500 on that tiny little crackerjack box necklace. What the hell.

  59. CB Rawks says:

“@Innocent: Okay I have to ask. You post like you are in contact with Lindsay. Do you talk with her or is this one of those “I just know what she’d think” type of deals?”

No Roma, innocent is just insane.
But according to her, Lindsay thinks “she done nothing wrong”. Perhaps they were in the same remedial English class.

  60. Jag says:

So the D.A. has to prove intention to permanently take the item or she can’t be charged? Guess I’ll move to CA and then rob stores, but leave notes saying that I’m only “borrowing” the items for 20 years, and that they’ll be returned then. Then I won’t get into trouble, yes? Ugh! When is she going to actually suffer consequences for her actions like “non-celebrity” people do?

  61. Neko says:

@Kaiser “tooey – I’ve actually been thinking about this, and here’s my take on the pendant: I think it’s probably an uncut gemstone pendant, and it probably came with some kind of protective leather sheath that protects the gem. I think this crackhead is wearing the necklace WITH the leather sheath.”

I think they are talking about the OTHER necklace, not the one with the pendant. Even the photos are showing the other necklace with a red circle. And in TMZ there’s an arrow pointing at it.
(if you’re only talking about the one with the pendant because is ugly, i apologize :P)

  62. lucy2 says:

“TMZ is now reporting that the jewelry store in question has a very involved process for loaning out jewelry, including signing forms and making sure there’s insurance in place.”
Thanks for the info, albeli, I wondered about that on a previous thread. I figured they had to have some kind of official record of who borrows what. No legit business would let someone borrow thousands of dollars worth of merchandise and not document it for their own protection.
    She belongs in jail.

  63. the original bellaluna says:

@ Jag – Never. Twattie Sheen (a.k.a. Blohan) will never suffer the consequences for her actions.

  64. JenJen says:

Didn’t the Jeweler say it had diamonds in it? It’s so thin, you’d need a microscope to see. It looks like a cheap piece of crap to me. No wonder the freaking idiot “had” to have it.
