Jennifer Aniston hates her new hair, makes her look ‘like a dowdy soccer mom’

anistonhair
This story is in the National Enquirer, which continues to mystify us by getting a lot of valid scoops that they paint with the same sensational brush as all their other stories. So it’s hard to tell what’s true in my favorite rag, but the fact that this news is coming out a few weeks after Aniston changed her hair makes it sound believable to me.

So as you know, Aniston chopped off her hair about seven weeks ago. She got a blunt bob that hit right around the collarbone, after wearing her trademark hair about six inches longer for years. There were undoubtedly some extensions in there too. Aniston’s hairdresser said that he was trying to help his client escape from “Real Housewife” hair and that the cut was inspired by Julie Christie in Shampoo and Kim Basinger in 9 1/2 weeks. Only if this latest article is to be believed, Aniston really loved her Real Housewife hair and hates the new ‘do. She thinks it makes her look older and “like a dowdy soccer mom.”

Instead of being pleased with her new chin-length bob, she’s been telling pals she feels like a “dowdy-looking soccer mom”!

“Jen feels the new cut is a mistake,” an insider divulged. “She was promised by her stylist that the new haircut would make her look younger, but she thinks it has the opposite effect.”

While those close to the 42-year-old actress keep telling her how cute the new cut is, “she doesn’t believe them,” continued another source. “As far as she’s concerned, it looks terrible.”

Jen’s displeasure with the new hairstyle has brought back a flood of insecurities from her past.

Explained the source: “She’s always had issues with her nose.

“She thought she’d come to terms with its shape, but without her long hair she thinks it looks too big for her face again. She also thinks the haircut makes her face look rounder and she hates that. Her hair was really a major security blanket.”

[From The National Enquirer, print edition, April 25, 2011]

I don’t often sympathize with Aniston as she doesn’t need our sympathy, (and let’s face it, a lot of the sympathy she gets is judgy) but I recently got a haircut that was much shorter than I was hoping for and it kind of sucked my mojo for a while. It’s a bitch to get a bad haircut and Aniston identifies with her hair and must take this sort of thing very seriously. Plus she’s a creature of extreme habit and it must have been hard for her to adjust to a shorter hairstyle. Remember when she said she hated her Rachel haircut from friends? You get used to seeing yourself with a certain hairstyle and with your hair at a certain length, and Aniston likes longer hair. I think her new haircut is cute, but I also think the longer hair suited her more. She needed to change up her look though.

If Aniston really said this though she’s disrespecting a large component of her fan base, and I’ll just leave it at that.

Also, I’ve been looking at photos of Aniston’s hair, and it looks like her hairdresser took her through a “transitional period” where he cut off about an inch and a half (or took out her extensions) before going full bob. Like here’s how she looked in November and right before and after her major haircut.

I got a hair cut about a month ago and it’s too short so at this moment I feel for her. It’s only hair and it’ll grow out but it sucks when everytime you look it the mirror, you get that little twinge of annoyance because of your hair *sigh*

  2. mln76 says:

There were some candid shots posted on Popeater yesterday and in profile you could see a double chin I think she is jowly like her dad (she also looks botoxed to death but that’s another story). I don’t think the cut flatters her eventhough it was really brave to make that step.

  3. Marjalane says:

I totally disagree on this one- I think the shorter cut was MUCH needed by Jennifer Aniston! It gives her a more updated, classy look, IMO. She’d been working the beach girl thing for SO long, and needed to evolve her persona a bit. I don’t have anything against long hair for women over 40 in general, but eventually they all start looking like Real Housewives if they arent careful. I love the current bob on J.A.!

  4. Diane says:

We’ve all had haircuts we weren’t thrilled with, but please bitch, get over your shallow self.

  5. Twez says:

Every story about Aniston ever just makes me think how *exhausting* she must be in real life.

  6. danielle352 says:

    Oh Delilah.

I’ve always thought that longer hair looks more youthful, kinda like bangs, but then becomes forced and inappropriate the older we get. This to me is why her hairdresser wanted to move away from the housewives-demi moore-hair.

I would believe that besides her nose, she thinks the hair makes her look older, but won’t admit to that.

Not like I’m different, turned 28, cut off 10 inches, saw it on the floor and cried

  7. normades says:

STFU and go back to tv, your movies suck

  8. You don't say says:

Well, since a great deal of her fame is from her hair, I can see why she would be upset. It was not a good color and it was not a good cut either, at least for her face shape and size. Coming from NE, it is to be taken with a grain of salt, but it does sound like her and what she finds important, which is sad really.

  9. NC native says:

Actually, you are right about the transition…I always thought her hair was much thicker than it really is. The two pictures just prior to her haircut, you can tell her hair is actually thin. This gives me a little hope that I may be able to grow my thin hair a little longer!
BTW, she does look better with it longer…

  10. Crash2GO2 says:

Her nose IS looking more bulbous, but it’s not because of the new haircut. Too much booze maybe ? ?

  11. lrm says:

I just got the same cut cate blanchett had at the oscar’s-
i had been thinking of it in my mind, and then saw a pic of her-she stole my cut(:
anyway, stylist did a great job,a nd told me it would work on me b/c of x,y and z….and not on some ppl.

you need a stylist who will be honest about your face shape and what will look good.

my guess is JA wanted to go shorter, but not drastic-but she would be helped by a little ‘style’ in the cut. straight and hanging is not flattering. maybe a light layer? or a little more than whatever she’s got going on her.

she looks like barbara streisand. or a soccer mom; i agree.

but really-is this her big life drama at the moment?
    if true, then wow.
get a clue. and a life.
even if her hair is part of her job-puleez.

btw, i love her dark coat in the near top pic.
    she always wears great coats.

  12. N.D. says:

@mln76: it was really brave to make that step.

That made me LOL, literally, I mean it’s frigging haircut! 🙂 But for JA, yeah, it is really brave move 😀

I liked long hair better. In fact I’m going to hairdresser to ask for similar longish haircut about right now 🙂

  13. samihami says:

“then becomes forced and inappropriate the older we get.”

Really? I couldn’t disagree with you more. I’m 46 and have very long hair and will until I die. I’ve never thought there was anything forced or inappropriate about my hair…it’s just the way I have worn it most of my life.

  14. tracking says:

It’s odd that the cut can be so cute, but not remotely face flattering. If it is truly ruining her life (which I doubt), she could simply get extensions. Whatever.

  15. DenG says:

She reminds me of the character in “A Face in the Crwd”–Lonesome Rhodes. Faking the down-home folksy act but actually laughing at the “sheep” and “monkeys” who fall for it.

  16. kendra says:

Bitch please , you are 42, you should be proud to be a soccer mom. Atleast you would have something else to obsess over than your pathetic azz.

  17. honeychurch says:

Recently she’s been looking like Barbra Streisand. Like, recent Barbra Streisand. Time to get the weave out again, sis.

  18. I was sick of her same-over-a-decade hairstyle but her new cut is not much of an improvement… I think she needed a more radical change. and why is she afraid to go curly which she naturally is? I know, I know, but curlies look best with curls. that thing with her big nose and round face? guess what – it all looks different if put in a perspective of curly hair! because curly hair gives that volume she needs! and the colour. oh honey. ditch the blonde.
from what I’ve learned throughout life – it’s not about the length, it’s about theway it’s styled.

  19. someone says:

Yes, and Im sure she called the National Enquirer to complain about her hair!

  20. liz says:

she looks great with the shorter hair and her nose looks absolutely fine. sheesh, these problems are so real. someone needs to give her financial troubles.

  21. Erin says:

@SamiHami – word! ITA. I have long hair, always have, always will. I think it looks great when a woman has healthy, stylish, long hair at any age. I say do what you want and always say ‘boo!’ To all those stupid, arbitrary style “rules”.

  22. thinkaboutit says:

Her nose does look bigger but I don’t think it’s the hair. It happens when you start tinkering too much.

  23. TG says:

@lrm – I agree with you, she looks like Barbara Streisand. Even though I think both of them are attractive, I hate this haircut. It looks exactly like a boring suburban soccer mom or a woman on her way to the office in DC. I loved it long. I too have been growing my hair out after nearly 2 years of disastrous cuts. I think long hair is fine for women over 35 it is all about the attitude. Just like 16 and even college age girls clinging to their super long hair, it’s not that the hair needs to go it is the that they need to grow up so they cut it. You usually have to do that once in your life and when you face the fact that you are not a child then you can grow it long again.

I would love to have a pixie cut like Hallie Barry or Meg Ryan in the 90’s but I just don’t have the face for it.

  24. Melanie says:

Big nose? Really? I hate to see what you all would say about my honker. I could understand her telling her friends that she hates her hair. That is what G friends are for, commiserating!

  25. Roma says:

I cut 10 inches off my long jet black hair, bleached it blonde and cut it into an elongated bob. I absolutely love it and get so many compliments on it.

But when I go out and see girls with long hair I totally get hair envy. I think society equates long hair with youth and sometimes I feel aged. So I actually believe this story.

  26. mln76 says:

I think she should go darker it would make her look more sophisticated.

  27. PrettyTarheel says:

So glad I’m not alone on the Streisand comparison. The pic from 2/22 with her mouth open really solidified it for me.

  28. EdithP says:

I recently got a too-short cut and I feel like a soccer mom, too, so I empathize, although I do like this cut on her.

  29. LadyBert62 says:

I like the new haircut as it frames her pretty face – the longer haircut looked messy and like she was trying to be a hot chickie of about 19! Jennifer you are older and needed a decent haircut – which your stylist gave you. Just give it some time!

And yes I thought it looked like a Streisand haircut too but as soon as I had Streisand’s ugly face in my mind and then I matched it with Jen’s face in my mind, the winner was always Ms. Aniston!

  30. Mizz Tickles says:

Jennifer Aniston should go back to The Rachel – that was truly an awesome cut for her.

  31. TXCinderella says:

I think the new cut makes her look pretty and classy, and not like some forty year old trying to look like a twenty year old. Maybe that’s why she liked it, but the long loose curls look is overdone. All the celebs have the same hairstyle.

  32. Lynne says:

honeychurch, totally agree! I just can’t help but see Barbara every time I look at her with this hair cut!

  33. Disbelieving says:

Its the color that is wrong. She is too blonde and while I don’t think long hair “ages” a person, too blonde does.

  34. JC126 says:

Maybe she had a cold or allergies, that would account for the swollen nose.
With the shorter hair, in that one shot she makes me think of Barbra Streisand.

  35. Isabel says:

Oh Jennifer, grow up. You’re 42, not some wispy 20 year old breaking into Hollywood. A styled look makes you look much less desperate than clinging on to long, straight extentions.

  36. lucy2 says:

I like both cuts, but do think she looks younger with the longer one.

  37. Samantha says:

My four year old said she looks better with long hair. I agree.

  38. Embee says:

Her stylist was right about real housewives hair. I like long hair and I like it on women of every age but it’s just so overdone now. I think the new cut needs to be a smidge shorter (inch) and then it’d work. If she doesn’t like it she can clearly put in extensions. I doubt she’s crying over her hair.

  39. Laura says:

Um, she looks the f***ing same no matter what.

  40. Reality says:

It occurs to me that most actresses her age have rocked the same style for ages, Sandra Bullock, Halle Berry, Demi Moore, Julianne Moore, Cameron Diaz, etc. But no one gives them grief for not ‘changing things up’ or ‘getting out of their comfort zones’.

I really don’t get why people care so much what she does, she’s an average actress with a pretty mundane lifestyle for a celebrity. I just don’t understand the scrutiny.

  41. Hanh says:

considering Jennifer Aniston has had a few nose jobs already, if she keeps it up, she’ll have a nose like MJ.

I like her new hair, I was getting really bored with the old one. But then, her style is pretty boring. Her old hair dated her pretty badly.

  42. whatyousay?! says:

all i can say its the chic-est she’s ever looked; but if she prefers boring I understand.

  43. clare says:

She’s really cute with either hairstyle, but, for sure, in that bottom photo she looks like Babs Streisand- younger and hotter, of course!
Guess this new haircut went along with her decision to sell her hippie mansion? What does Jennifer want hmm… a moment of meditation is due here…

  44. Raven Sparrow says:

@Reality – totally agree with you!

That being said I prefer her with long hair.

As for hair cutting, 2 years ago I cut my waist long hair into a bob pretty much like JA’s because I was losing it so much after my pregnancy.I loved the new cut for like a week and after that I just couldn’t look in the mirror anymore. I kept it tied up in a bun not to notice how short it was. I didn’t feel myself for a looong time. Actually it’s only now that my hair is inching near my waist again that I’m feeling much better with my image, like finding my old self again.

  45. Chrissy says:

I read the title and thought, “Kiss off, bitch.” Her hair looked ridiculous before. Too long, too young. And now she complains she looks like a soccer mom? Please! We would love to look like her! The more I read about Jen Aniston, the more I dislike her.

  46. Ally says:

Both Aniston and Gwyneth Paltrow are sad with their obsessive hair-straightening and -lightening. That’s what’s Real Housewives-esque. It speaks to a loathing of their true selves, in terms of beauty and ethnic background. Why must everyone try to look Scandinavian-American all the damn time?!?

At least Angelina still has her original hair color.

  47. D says:

NEWSFLASH: You’ve always had soccer mom hair…and this is coming from a soccer mom.

  48. Ellie says:

Never liked this chick she is plain and boring! Team Angelina, all the way!

  49. Ari says:

I love love love the new haircut and I am definitely not a huge fan of hers (although I find myself watching all her movies when they come out lol…) I think it makes her edgier not dowdier.

  50. Cheyenne says:

The world is about to reverse its axis because she thinks her haircut makes her look soccer-momish? How shallow can she get?

Get a clue, Jenny-poo: No hairstyle in the world is going to make you look 22 again.

Her problem isn’t the mess on top of her head, its the mess INSIDE her head.

  51. guesty says:

She should hate it. It’s awful. But an easy fix. Clip it, bond it or sew it back in…immediately.

  52. mln76 says:

@Cheyenne great post same goes for Goopy these women need to start developing a character and identity outside of their looks so sad that in their late 30s (in Goops case) and 40s they still haven’t learned that basic lesson.

  53. skibunny says:

Oh quit being so sensitive about the soccer mom comment.
She looks better with longer hair. It’s her signature. Age has f$^k all to do with it. Most women are sensitive about their hair. I would rather get a root canal than get my hair cut. It’s always stressful because I’ve been scalped so many times.

  54. GraciexDoes says:

I would love to be a soccer mom, but at 40 with no kids and no prospects, I guess I’ve missed the proverbial boat.

I like the shorter do. Think Ima see if I can wear it.

  55. 4Real says:

Here’s the thing…she has GREEK curly hair. She has to die and chemically straighten it and therefore HAS to chop it off every now and then to keep looking healthy. And she hates it short. I HEAR YA JEN!

  56. Mshuffleupagus says:

I actually feel for her on this one. I have a super round heart shaped face and I can’t talk myself into cutting my hair short, even though I really want to. I’ve never had it shorter than my shoulders and I’m dying for a bob but I’m 90% sure it will look terrible. Why do I have these urges?!?! Devil be gone!

  57. curmudgeon says:

Early forties is hard. That’s when it really hits hard that you cannot stop the aging process. Not really. And if you work in Hollywood, which disdains most women over forty its gotta at least double.

  58. original kate says:

jen needed a change of hairstyle – it looks better, IMO. and the specs look good on her as well. she should wear them more often.

  59. KattyKat says:

I was wondering why we hadn’t seen any photos of The Aniston’s new ‘do since she debuted it a few weeks ago. At the time I thought it was too light more that too short.

We all know I don’t like The Aniston but I can relate to The Aniston for once. I had to chop off curls (much worse, believe me) because of how damaged they were and I feel so horribly dowdy. I’m taking hair vitamins now and trying not to blow dry. My hair is in a ponytail almost everyday. It is about as long (curly) as The Aniston’s is now from a length that you could barely get a ponytail out of in December.

I’m miserable but I’m luckier than The Aniston in that I have no now nor ever will be compared to BABS! She looks like BABS in that last photo. That is much worse than “a soccer mom” in my eyes.

Still, I said relate not sympathize. She’s loaded, can’t she get extensions put in to make it look longer? If the thinks that is the issue. I think the CUT makes her look like Babs but the color is what is making her look older. The bleach blonde somehow emphasizes the Crow’s feet.

  60. KattyKat says:

@mln76: Thanks for the link. I spoke to soon. She did get the color fixed and even though the cut doesn’t flatter her face shape, she does look younger in the candids and less Babs like. I’d rather have a double chin than look like Babs so for me its a HUGE improvement. However, is she trying to dress like Renee now? Cargo pants and combat boots? She was always a jeans and flip flops girl. I may not like her but I always like her clothes. Like someone said, she’s a beach girl. So am I. As long as we don’t go orange we don’t all look like Real Housewives.

I may not like her whiny fake vapid pathetic persona (I’m still not 100% sure she is really like that) and I don’t think she has one ounce of talent (which is the main reason I don’t like her) she does NOT look like a Real Housewife. She’s not orange or overly botoxed. She’s toned but her thighs touch and her nose and chin aren’t perfect.

  61. Danny says:

Yep, definitely Barbra Streisand. Not a good look.

  62. Kim says:

Her hair was so damaged she needed to cut it. It looks way better than that frizzy blow dried straight look shes been wearing for years – that super straight hair is so over!

She has had her nose worked on to many times. I think her current nose suits her perfectly and she should embrace it. I personally hate tiny bobbed noses because they provide no character to a face.

  63. N says:

@N.D. I think I snorted when I read it, how glamorous. I went from reading CNN about the marine who took his own life after returning to the States, having four friends killed in the war and suffering from PTSD, to reading that JA was “brave” for cutting her hair.

  64. Maritza says:

I love the Barbara Streisand bob hairdo she has now, she looks much prettier now and I think in the picture with the eyeglasses she looks very cute. If she doesn’t like her nose she should get another nose job, she should go for it, nothing wrong with wanting to look good.

  65. melinda says:

I think her hair is totally cute shorter. More stylish, less just hanging there.

  66. BooBerry says:

A more vapid, empty-headed person could not possibly exist.

  67. yahoo says:

I think she’s using whatever Madonna uses. Both have that over-puffed face thing going on.

  68. Lady D says:

    Samihami, #13, ditto.

  69. Az says:

She does look like La Streisand. In my book, that’s a compliment. I think this bob is too long. I really liked the shorter bob she had on Friends (the season Monica and Chandler get married). It was shorter and darker and it looked great on her.

  70. Mimi says:

sigh. i just wish she’s go away. fugly and more ordinary than ever.

  71. Westcoaster says:

She may think she looks like a soccer mom, but how many soccer moms have her amount of money?

  72. doom_n_gloom says:

Screw that noise, she should seriously quit smoking. I recently quit after almost 12 years and I’m desperately trying to reverse/combat the damage I’ve done to my skin. She has access to fancy creams and procedures but you can still see the toll it’s taking on her face, not to mention what a cloud of smoke will do to your hair.

On topic, the haircut is cute but would look cuter on someone maybe a little younger. And am I the only one that thinks she should go back to her natural brown? The California girl surfer blonde is getting really old.

  73. albeli says:

As soon as I saw the new bob cut, I thought it wasn’t as flattering to her face as the longer hair.

She shouldn’t be dissing soccer moms, though (assuming that’s true).

  74. Cokie says:

She definitely looks better with shorter hair. Long hair (especially her long frizzy at the ends hair) truly ages a woman, especially someone thats in their 40s. She truly needed to grow up and act her age, and she does look much better for it. But if she stopped bleaching her hair and returned to her natural brown, she would look even more better and stunning. Blond hair does NOT suit her at all. I don’t understand why no one has told her this.

  75. TriedTru says:

Totally getting a Babs Streisand vibe from her… just as tired of JA as I am of Babs too.

  76. jenn says:

If she did say it, Aniston’s comment isn’t rude toward soccer moms. The fact is there are hot soccer moms (MILFs), and there are dowdy soccer moms. And with her new cut, she looks like a dowdy one.
But regardless she is still adorabale. Even when she’s 80 she’ll be a cutie.

  77. Aly says:

    I like the in-between length.

  78. P.J. says:

The new cut emphasizes JA’s worst feature, her elongated chin. What was the stylist thinking???

  79. rich says:

Long or short hair.. I’d still like to..

  80. Estella says:

It’s not the haircut that’s the problem, it’s her FACE!

  81. Feebee says:

fuck i detest the term “soccer mom”.

She looks fine with the shorter cut with the glasses and sleeveless top, then she took off the glasses and changed her top and she didn’t look so fine. So it’s not the hair.

If she hates it so much she should wear it up then the length won’t be so apparent. Ugh why am I still talking about this?

  82. Brisbanegirl says:

I love her new hair. I want it. I think she has always had great hair.

  83. CoffeeTalk says:

Stop the presses, Jennifer Aniston doesn’t like her haircut. So the eff what?

Assuming this is something she actually expressed at one time or another (which it probably isn’t as this is a tabloid), why on earth are so many of you jumping all over her calling her pathetic and desperate and shallow when most women would react the same way to their hair getting cut too short for their liking?

She didn’t say the world was reversing on it’s axis (?) because her hair was shorter than she’d like. Stop acting like she’s being shallow about it. Hair can be very important and personal to a woman. It isn’t shallow to be peeved that someone cut your hair too short.

Honestly I think this woman could save orphans from a burning church and some of you would still find some way, ANY WAY to say that she was desperate and pathetic and shallow.

  84. CG says:

Well, 1) I don’t know how she can complain about her nose when she’s gotten at least one nose job that we’re aware of (spare me that “she just had a deviated septum fixed” line that they all use) and 2) her face started looking really weird right around the time she got the haircut, so … now that people are talking about her hair and not the work she’s had done, I guess it’s mission accomplished?

  85. Daniella says:

I seriously doubt this successful woman obsesses about her hair more than the rags and people do. It’s just hair.
    *sigh*

  86. Anon says:

Couldn’t agree with you more CoffeeTalk! The likelihood that this is even true is very slim, but even if it is, what, she isn’t allowed to ever be peeved at anything in life ever or risk being considered vapid, desperate, etc. She can absolutely do no right by many here, and this is just another case of people jumping on any tiny, sketchy-sourced reason to hate on her.

  87. Dana M says:

ITA that she was wearing hair extensions. They can ruin your hair long term so she probably needed to give her hair a break from them for a while. Her hair is now noticeably thinner with her new haircut. I had a baby recently and more than double of my hair has fallen out 🙁 I researched getting extensions extensively. Some of the hair dressers I spoke with didn’t recommend them bc they can ruin your real hair. Extensions can cause weakening of the hair shaft and premature balding. Plus they expensive to maintain.

  88. madashell says:

walked over to the park and looked at the soccer moms leaning over the fence. No worries Jen. No worries.

  89. JennJenn says:

Her hair was too long before and too short now. The length in the 4th photo down, about 2 inches below the shoulder, and the dark blond color, are more flattering to her face.

  90. Dingles says:

Has she ever changed her hair color? Just once I’d like to see her with a deep red color. Anything but that boring tan shade she’s always had.

  91. eternalcanadian says:

I admit Jennifer looks better with the longer hair. But if that long hair was extensions then for the sake of hair health she was better off with shorter hair even if it makes her look her age. Oh well, that’s Hollywood for you. Fulluva insecure folks that have cosmetic surgery after cosmetic surgery and work out 5 hours a day while eating bird food. Definitely not real life, imo. 😛

  92. nnn says:

It’s the hair color that needs to be fixed. I don’t know why she doesn’t give it a try.

After all she is a brunette. And whatever, fake or real, her eyes are her best features. So Brunette will emphasise their color.

Plus All those bleaching chemicals ruin your hair. I am sure if she goes back to a brunette, it will grow healthier and gives her more edge.

That blond ambition is so outdated.

  93. skibunny says:

    @Newbie Great post!

I hate it when some of these older women get their hair cut really short. It looks so butch. And sexless. Most men like a woman with longer hair.

  94. MaudeLebowski says:

“but I recently got a haircut that was much shorter than I was hoping for and it kind of sucked my mojo for a while.”

    Yep, definitely been there.

  95. MaudeLebowski says:

    @Dana.M
Yeah also Dana, I hear extensions can be painful or at least uncomfortable and annoying. You don’t need that right now.
    Also congrats! 😀

  96. bitca says:

Been there, done that, got the tee-shirt (cliche but whatever). 40s are rough, but she began effing up when she lightened her hair during the Friends run. Thin hair+peroxide=cute for awhile, then major sadness. But main issh is, she prob wants a Look so she can aim at rom-coms for another 5 years. Now THAT is a depressing prospect 🙁

  97. Solveig says:

Are the extensions so commonly used there in the US? I see some of you suggesting that she probably had extensions, but I don’t see them. Her hair has always looked good, not like the one of Britney or Christina.
Well, I can understand that she feels bad for her hair, who doesn’t. My hair now is so long and beautiful (god bless faux modesty, I need some) and I don’t have the courage to cut it, and I should because it’s becoming annoying to take care of it.

  98. emma says:

Looks like Barbra Streisand with the new cut.

  99. Crash2GO2 says:

I’m going to wander out on a treacherous limb here and say that I don’t think she’s ever had extensions. She’s always had lovely thick hair.

  100. Dana M says:

    @MaudeLebowski- thank you 🙂

  101. trish says:

People would not be focusing on her looks if she had some substance, sans yoga, what she eats and tanning. I kind of want to like her, but she doesn’t try to make herself worthy in any other way, really. It would be a nice change if she could think outside her looks.

  102. ctkat1 says:

This reminded me of a video I saw on Jezebel that compiled clips of Jennifer Aniston touching her hair- it really is her security blanket. She has her hands in her hair approximately every 5 seconds. It’s a pretty amazing video:

    http://jezebel.com/#!5757304/jennifer-aniston-cannot-stop-touching-her-hair

    I was transfixed by it.

  103. Algar says:

Guess she missed her chance to be a dowdy soccer mom:) Wouldn’t have babies after 5 years w/Brad & lost him to someone who loves kids.

    Pathetic, vain, semi-attractive woman.

  104. Carly says:

@ELLIE,KATTykat & all those J.A. Haters plz get over yourselves, every1 has flaws u shud just give Jen a break or dnt comment @ all & what’s with the Angie comment Ellie. ANCIENT HISTORY

  105. chell az says:

    @ #87 Newbie
    AGREE! 100%
it’s all about “LOOK at ME!”
    look at me here
    look at me there
    look at me NOW!
    look look look look
what can I do next so they will notice me!
    just how I see it.

  106. Adrien says:

Well, at least there was a time in her life she was called a “mom”.

  107. telesma says:

She always looks like a soccer mom. This makes her look kind of like Barbra Streisand.

  108. anonymous says:

Hair is dead once it grows out, any similarity to Jennifer Aniston career? At 42 she hasn’t risen past or above her hair and body parts taking a few of the people on this board along with her, lord this contry is in such serious trouble, one of the commentors on this board said that they young child agreed about her hair, imagine inducting your child in the worshipdom of a pathetic self centered star.

  109. anonymous says:

No wonder Brad Pitt left no human being could live with such a self centered person, imagine all that attention to dead cells, hair.

  110. lisa says:

    She looks like Barbara Streisand

  111. dovesgate says:

She can’t go darker or everyone will say she’s trying to look like you know who.

  112. hoganbcmj says:

I cannot figure out what this post is even about. She got a few inches cut off the bottom; otherwise it looks exactly the same. Seriously, this is a “different haircut?”

  113. Cheyenne says:

@Ckat: That video is hysterical. She acts like a baby with a pacifier. Or as if her hair is her security blanket.

    http://jezebel.com/#!5757304/jennifer-aniston-cannot-stop-touching-her-hair

(Note: anyone who wants to watch the video, copy the entire URL and paste it into your browser. The link will only take you to Jezebel.com)

  114. kazoo says:

“STFU and go back to tv, your movies suck”

    LMAO.

i think her hair is her best feature (well besides her body), so i think she should keep it long but go a different color.

with all the discussion about alleged plastic surgery, i’m really surprised she hasn’t done anything to get rid of the laugh lines. hers aren’t worse than blake lively’s but they’re very noticeable…

  115. JenJen says:

I love how she calls it her hair, hasn’t it been a wig since the “Jen” grew like 3 feet in a season of Friends? But, it may have been on a hiatus 😉

  116. kim says:

She looks like a real estate agent with that hair!!

    ew

  117. Ellie says:

Geez such sensationalism. Like every woman doesn’t discuss their hair and if they should change it and so on. . . . I guess it’s just we don’t have our words (if ja even said this) published on the internet and gossip rags. That said, I agree she needs to darker— not totally dark, but brown with some highlights. That blond was too grayish or ashy colored. I mean come on, she does, like all the stars, have access to a killer hairstylist. I think the one length bob looked too styled. I personally like a more messy, natural look.

  118. Caz says:

Good golly she’s self-obsessed to the point of having an illness. She’s never got over Brad leaving her.Wasn’t one of her many exes quoted as saying that she’s completely narcisstic and spends hours preening? How boring for friends, random hookups and family. If I’d spent that much money on my looks and weren’t happy I’d be angry too. Surprised at the soccer mum reference – isn’t this her only fanbase? Strange. Maybe it’s part #1…part #2 will be that she’s been “misquoted”. There’s nothing going on in her life that is interesting.

  119. Camille says:

I don’t really care what she does to her hair to be honest, its her fug face that I can’t get past. Such a plain looking woman. I will never understand how she got all of the hoopla on Friends. Courtney Cox is far more beautiful than JA and even had a bit of talent too (unlike JA).

  120. anon1000 says:

^^She can’t go darker or everyone will say she’s trying to look like you know who.^^
    ________
WTF???? SHE WAS BORN WITH BROWN HAIR!!!! A BRUNETTE IS WHO SHE IS! going back to her roots, she will look like real self. or did her PR
actually succeed in PUNKING the general public into believing that JA was a REAL BLONDE? BWAHHHHHHHHHHHHH! 🙂

  121. Nibbi says:

i feel for her if this is true. unhappy haircuts can indeed be a mojo-suck. and she does totally look like Babs in the lead pic.
and 42 is NOT THAT OLD, people. i don’t like the idea that at whatever age, new rules about how you’re not allowed to wanna look fun and sexy seem to come into play.

  122. jemshoes says:

Assuming this is even true, what an insult to all soccer moms! 😉

The women I know who are soccer moms / full-time mummies are wonderful, giving, loving and selfless women … and if our hair looks a little neglected than it used to, or if it’s been cut much shorter than it used to be, well, it’s because we have other things to think about besides our hair. 🙂

  123. Micki says:

She looks 40-ish WITH long and WITH short hair. Her inner dissatisfaction with life got upper hand I guess.

  124. Newbie says:

This thread is still listed under “hot posts”?!? Really? Her hair is just fine. I don’t get the on-going debate. And why must it be such truth that she has extensions? The only time she’s ever looked like she had extensions was on one season of friends. Girl has really good hair. It happens. I really love how everyone is going nuts over what she should do with her tresses. As long as you’re busy burning calories over worry about her hair color, perhaps you should be fair and ask yourself how many actresses in hollywood have changed their hair dramatically throughout their careers? For example, Julianne Moore has never changed the color and rarely changed the cut. At least not in the past 10 years or so. And I see no outrage for her decision. Her hair is lovely, and why change what’s working for you? Aniston’s hair ranges from blonde to gold and dark honey, and she recently cut it. I fail to see how the argument that she “never changes” fits here. And I don’t even like her all the time. The majority of you that have a severe problem with her are kissing Brangie butt. That’s you’re prerogative, but how often has Jolie cut/changed her hair in the last 10 years? She’s gotten it cut (less so than Aniston’s recent chop) since 2007, she’s gone darker and she’s gotten mild streaks. She also has lovely hair. Why fix what isn’t broken? Point is, sometimes when you hate a person very strongly, you look for things to pick at.

  125. blasted1 says:

No matter what jennifer aniston does to her hair, she will always look cute…she has always looked cute. What she leaves unspoken is that she wants to look sexy and she just plain doesn’t. It’s embarrassing every time she tries it. “Kim Basinger in 9 1/2 Weeks?! Are you kidding me?! She looked like the perfect girl next door cheerleader when she was young and now she looks like the cute neighbor that all the kids love and mows her own lawn to stay in good shape. What’s wrong with that? Granted, it’s not much of a turn on, but she looks healthy and neat and toned. She just needs to face the facts that if she isn’t a “sex bomb” by the time she’s 42, it ain’t in the cards!

  126. Cheyenne says:

@newbie: None of us posting on here is nearly as obsessed with Anistons hair as Aniston herself appears to be.

  127. Freya says:

    BooBerry, #66, ITA!

  128. Addie says:

@ctkat1… Right? Just watched that hair link.
Why can’t she keep her hair a nice auburn color, keep it in a classy bun/braid or something, anything just NOT to bring it as the center of attention.

She could be so much more than her hair and stupid rom coms if she.just.let.herself.

    Hope she does one day.

  129. CoffeeTalk says:

Cheyenne: Well it is her hair. That grows out of her own head. So if anyone were to be obsessive about it, it makes sense that it would be her instead of you know, you.

  130. Annie says:

She sure puts herself down a lot.

  131. Truthzbetta says:

    Samihami

Rock on girl. I bet your hair looks great.

Jen’s was better before too but it’ll grow back and meanwhile she can bore us less with the change up.

  132. Lara says:

I remember her talking about how horrifying it was for her the last time she cut her hair. She took vitamins to make it grow back. It’s like one wrong cut (no pun intended) and it’s the end of her world. Ah, to be so shallow and self-absorbed. She really is nothing more than a walking hair-do. Her hair should have its own bank acount and publicist.

  133. Newbie says:

@Cheyenne: according to tabloid report, yes. The same tabloids that most of you are calling liars when it comes to…erm…other stars that you really love and care for with a ferocity of devotion. But I’ll give you this one. Aniston cares about her hair. Ooookayyy….how is that terrible again? You can argue that her movies aren’t that great lately, and you can argue that she’s getting older. And you can certainly pick apart her tanning and her trips to Mexico, seeing as all those things are known truths. But she hasn’t exaclty come out and done an interview yet where she’s crying over her haircut. And if she did, it really wouldn’t be any different from any other woman in the world. I think we’ve all had haircuts and colors that we didn’t like. Even if people tell you that they love it. If you don’t like it, that’s what’s most important. You’re growing it out of your scalp, so your own opinion matters most. Luckily for the rest of us, we don’t have several million bystanders telling us what we should do with it. Thank heaven.

  134. Sakyiwaa says:

    Unbelievable.

  135. Pat'sMom says:

People, please! The thing I love about JA is that she’s a real person who says the kind of things real people, or your best girlfriend would say. She didn’t mean to demean soccer mom’s (if she did in fact make the referenced statment) she was just saying she doesn’t like her hair and making an irreverent comment. To me it’s such of breath of fresh air to see a celebrity not weighing every word she says. So many celebs want to sound so politically correct and behind closed doors they are just regular people. With Aniston “what you see is what you get”. She’s not totally PHONY. That said, I like her with longer, DARKER hair. Hope you read this Jen. The lighter blonde, shorter hair is really cute but not necessarily the best for you. But still, LOVE YOU GIRL! Keep fighting the good fight, your bliss is on the horizon!!!! xo
