It’s the divorce that just won’t die, y’all. Until Katy Perry and Russell Brand both make comprehensive and unequivocal statements about their split (and who could honestly expect them to do so?), the rumors will only continue despite the fact that Katy herself has recently insisted to everyone that no one speaks for her (not even her family). Nice try, but people will talk, including her family.
So let’s do a quick recap of the latest updates. Moving vans have been spotted toting Russell’s belongings from he and Katy’s home to a very large house in Beverly Hills that is understood to be his new home. Likewise, Katy is said to have moved from the couple’s house as well into a new $1.9 million pad in the Los Feliz area. Katy has also reportedly been hiding out in Santa Barbara at her grandmother’s house because “Katy always runs to her granny when she’s in trouble. She’s been giving Katy a real dose of family love and strong advice about how to heal a broken heart.” Presumably, Katy also chose grandma because she won’t be running to the press like a certain set of parents.
In addition, a story that originated with Bang Showbiz reports that Katy knew nothing of Russell’s plans before he filed for divorce and thought their issues were down to “normal couple problems.” You know, normal stuff that isn’t wheelchair pr0n or strategic wedding ring removal. Now, In Touch is reporting that Katy has found her way back to the power of prayer, and she’s asking God to bring back Russell. Are the tabloids just getting lazy?

She turns to God in a last-ditch effort to save her marriage.
The family that prays together stays together — at least that’s what singer Katy Perry and her evangelical minister parents, Keith and Mary Hudson, are hoping. While many jilted brides would just tell their husbands to go to hell, Katy, who grew up in a devout Christian household, believes divine intervention could save her 14-month marriage to Russell Brand, 36. “Katy has said that she will do anything for a second shot,” reveals an insider close to the Hudsons.
All this despite the fact that over the course of their relationship, Katy, 27, grew increasingly frustrated by Russell’s wandering eye. Still, she’s willing to overlook her hubby’s major shortcomings. “You’ve got to be loving, bcause it is the love of God that draws anybody to change their mind,” Katy’s mom insists of her son-in-law’s decision to file for divorce. Although Russell was [the one who filed] for divorce, the insider says Katy’s family “isn’t blaming him.” And if there’s no last-minute miracle? “I’m going to be there for Katy no matter what, just like Jesus is there for us, no matter what,” reassures her dad.

Yeah, this story is crap and probably planted by Katy’s parents just like the hopeful Tim Tebow romance. If Katy’s smart, she’ll take awhile to get over the shock and hurt of divorce before pulling a JLo and hopping immediately back into a relationship. When Katy’s ready, there’ll no doubt be very little shortage of waiting candidates for their turn on the Perry Pony Ride. Even Daniel Radcliffe has revealed that he’s got a major crush on Katy, but I don’t think he’s really her type. Daniel is far too nice.
By the way, these aren’t new photos of Katy. I just wanted to dig up some 2010 award show pictures to mix things up a bit since she’s been out of the public eye since the split.

…Early Today on NBC ran a story that Katy’s parents are the ones trying to hook her up with Tebow. It surprises me that story would make mainstream national news. Now maybe tomorrow, err, Monday, they’ll run the “praying for my marriage” story. Also have to wonder with Tebow under the gun on Sunday if this weird press is going to have any effect on him. (…watch for Katy in Foxboro lol)
Tebow’s sudden fame must overwhelm him so. He doesn’t need this Katy fanfare! And an arranged relationship. Please… I have a feeling Tebow won’t compromise and ffs, Katy needs to heal.
I think the tab is BS-ing. But katy was really into russell and everything. She thought they were the It couple: ‘better than Brangelina’ she said on Ryan Seacrest’s Kiss fm show, a few months into the marriage. I thought it was cute.
I don’t think Katy is going to be running into any new relationship. I can see her waiting until after the divorce is final.
Katy’s parents need to STFU, you can tell this is a ploy by them to bring her “back into the arms of Jesus.” Not that there is anything wrong with finding religion, but her parents only wish to use her for financial gain as they did when she was a child. Didn’t they make her a faith healer when she was little?
Katy’s whole “NO ONE speaks for me” garbage is being misinterpreted. Even if they were going to split eventually, she wanted a few months more where no one knew they were through. She did the same thing to Travis. Fighting all the time but smiles for the cameras. This is her cycle. Until she gets therapy and maybe medication it will never change.
ANYWAY, the whole point of her tweeting that was because she got surprised by HIM filing which was not cool. Then her damage control kicks is. “I wanted him to file because of my parents” “No, I’m totally blindsided and devastated” “We were fighting for months” “I had no idea we were in serious trouble. I was mostly happy” “He’s a weird pervert who undermines me” yadda yadda yadda. And when the gossip is really starting to make Brand look bad and in turn her when her parents show themselves as the racist bigots they are, she bails on all the stories she leaked with her: “I’m so above gross gossip that I have no responsibility for spreading in order to save face” Her friends were quoted by name and they were talking trash about Russell. They haven’t said the papers lied. And they wouldn’t talk if she didn’t want them too. This girl is ridiculous. She needs to learn to keep schtum for a while.
She should stay single. and really distance herself from her parents. Her dad has Lohan/Spears written all over him. This guy wants her cash and he wants it now. Her mother looks like she’s had some serious electroshock. Really creepy people. She doesn’t need them in her life at all. Marrying Brand seems really risky and pretty dumb if you ask me. He probably thought she’d be all Lily Allen and turn into a domestic maternal type which is totally cool and inspiring, but that is just not Katy right now. She’d spend her whole life with him laughing at her behind her back and not really realizing what was so funny. If she wasn’t so transparent and lame, I’d probably like Katy just a little bit, but she is just terrible.

Agree meg her success is called endless marketing and no taste in too much of the music consuming public; she is a brainless autotuned non-talent; and while I’m not religious, she gives sincere christians a bad name. I feel for today’s younger gen, they have very few authentic talented cool hip musical stars, it’s all corporate packaged putrefaction. Oh, btw, that last pic of her is completely utterly laughable – and this is what people consider a “musical” star?
Never liked her or her music, I don’t like manufactured music and my 17 year old doesn’t like her either, so there you go. This whole divorce fiasco is just trashy, really, being married for 14 months only? Whatever happened till death do us part? I guess that’s only for old folks now.
She got married way to fast/didnt know Russell at all but i feel for her because its terrible when 1 person wants divorce but the other doesnt. Russell obviously never should have married her if he wont even try counseling or give it a second chance. What a cad! God Bless her.

i don’t believe it she sounds like she’s trying to run away from russ. but then again she was brought up very religiously maybe she believes she should stand by him always. god i hate being brought up religiously it takes a while to shake off the whole “i must not disappoint my parents” thing. i realized i was equating god with my dad, in my mind, and after i realized that it was far easier to let go of my religious past. but it used to resurface every now and then after all i was brainwashed from an early age, and so were my parents. it takes a while. you have to realize you are living your own life, not that of our parents, and as long as you’re not hurting anyone there is no reason to feel guilty about deciding not to be religious. and that marks the end of my novel

She cannot wear couture properly. If you see both of those dresses on the runway they were supposed to be worn like 3 inches higher up. They should be above the knee but she always yanks her dresses down a few inches to show her boobs to detract from her face and it ruins the dress and makes her look like a cheap slut. It really pisses me off. If you wear designer, wear it properly FFS! If you wear designer wrong it makes you look cheaper than if you got some sh*t from H&M and wore it properly. Hate that about her. Hire a new stylist!!!

Back in 2009 Katy hooked up with Brand because this girl has zero to talk about in interviews and she needs this romance to do her second album–a muse. Then they get married, he has mixed career success: GHTTGreek does good because FSM was so good, Hop does good b/c he’s a fluffy adorable rabbit, & Arthur tanks (at the box office, but everyone I know who saw it says, “why did I not go see this in the theatre?”–that movie will spread good will for him that will be evident in his next film), in addition to how Russell is really busy trying to network and has lots of stuff on the go and won’t follow her around the globe K-Fed style, well Katy was not happy with how it worked out. She dumped Travis because he wouldn’t drop his touring obligations to spend time with her. Right now, Russell achieved his goal of full market saturation of his name, and she got the huge dollar signs she wanted. He probably won’t take her money. So here’s her problem: what started as a publicity stunt for her turned real and she wants to keep him. Like all the girls he’s been with do that. No matter what he’s done, they want him back. It’s very odd. She also desperately wants to be an actress and she knows that Russell will have to put her in a film if they stay married and she thinks people will want to watch her. Didn’t she say she was the new Angelina Jolie at some point? What? I’m sure there’s a guy out there that’s a better fit for her.
