It’s over, finally. Paula Patton has divorced her stalker husband, Robin Thicke. They were married for nine years when she filed separation papers in February. Robin and Paula dated for twelve years before getting married, so that’s two full decades of investment. Two decades of putting up with a cheating douchebag. We don’t know if Robin was cheating on Paula all along. Based on his gropey behavior, I’d guess he’s been stepping out for years.
Paula finallly pulled the trigger and has handled the situation remarkably well. She disappeared from the public eye for months and only resurfaced in August. There were moments when it looked like Robin might “Get Her Back.” Thankfully, Paula stayed strong. TMZ has the details:
Robin Thicke tried and tried hard to save his marriage, but it didn’t work. TMZ has learned Paula Patton has filed for divorce … and as for the most important asset in the marriage … she wants joint custody.
Paula cites the usual … irreconcilable differences.
She wants joint legal and physical custody of their 4-year-old son Julian.
The divorce was filed in L.A., so there will be no issues over whether Robin may have strayed. It’s irrelevant.
We’re also told the divorce is “harmonious,” and there are no real issues that will cause a conflict.
Paula says the date of separation was February 21.

Yeah, I think Robin is done making a fool out of himself and won’t fight anything. Paula should get a decent amoun of alimony, I hope. It’s good that they’re not fighting over custody. They’re both ready to move on from this mess of a marriage.
Speaking of moving on, Radar Online says Paula “does not want anyone talking to her about Robin. She has moved on.” I’ll say. Radar says she has a new boyfriend, and they’re already living together. His name is Zak Waters, and he’s a musician with French Horn Rebellion. I’ve never heard of the band. Radar says Zac “treats her how she deserves to be treated” and presents photo “evidence” of this guy in Paula’s house. Good for her?

I remember when everyone was convinced it was just a publicity stunt. She gets so many props for how she handled this and finally woke up!
The only Thicke thing about him is his head…for messing up so spectacularly.
I’m glad she’s leaving Blurred Lines, but how is there already a new man in her house? Hollywood moves at lightning speed.
They announced their separation in February and don’t equate the public announcement with the actual end of the relationship.
I really feel for her. She was with him such a long time, and from my experience, you kinda become family at that point. I can understand why she went into hiding so long, and good for her for not taking his infidelity and general douchiness
Good for her!!! He’s a douche on so many different levels, she seems like a genuine person who deserves better, he made her look like a complete fool with his constant cheating and groping.
French Horn Rebellion just made Paula seem to me so much cooler/relaxed and good humored. Which she didn’t always come across as. I know she would say she was very much a laid back hippie but being with Thicke just didn’t match her interviews.
Their music to me is very fun dance club (Milwaukee style). It’s not serious where the end game is “get you into bed with my sexy talk”. More let’s poke fun at ourselves as we do stupid dance moves with our friends.
It’s also funny that this gossip comes when they drop their current single today. 😊

Good that she has finally done this. She handled everything well. She didn’t run to the press to talk or anything, even when he was making a fool of himself.
Good for her! She deserves better than that train wreck. Glad they’re doing what they can to make it better for their son, too.
Is there typically much alimony to be had from one-hit wonders?
Iihc, TMZ just said that Paula isn’t going to get spousal/alimony support? If that’s what I heard, then that’s too bad. She should get at least a one time payment on top of child support because she’s still young & I don’t know if she has any career skills to support herself for the long term.
I still remember their interview with oprah , and she was crying saying she was so proud of him, and she seemed so happy and genuinely so supportive of him. What a glorious ass to mess that up. He deserved to be dumped .
