I’ve been enjoying the American Citizen’s awards fashion so far, haven’t you? Reese Witherspoon lost the Best Actress gong at the Critics Choice Awards last night, but I think she’s fine with it. While she campaigned hard for months, I think Reese’s victory was simply getting nominations across the board. Of course she’d like to win, but if you have to lose to someone, I don’t think anyone can complain if that someone is Julianne Moore. So, Reese is just coming to these events to have fun, and her awards styling reflects that. She wore this bright Lanvin with fun, bouncy hair. Is this the best look ever on Reese? Nope. But it’s not bad at all. I think the look would have been more “polished” if she’d worn her hair up, but given the event, I’m fine with how she styled herself.
Amy Adams in Max Mara. I’m sort of regretting not including Amy in the Angelina Jolie post, because the fabric of their dresses is strikingly similar. I have to say though – I think Angelina’s pale satin had just enough silver/metallic to be interesting, while Amy’s satin is too nude/beige. I don’t understand Amy’s obsession with pale colors – whenever she wears bright colors or jewel tones, everyone always talks about how gorgeous she looks. If she wants to phone it in and not think too hard about her look, she should just do black or navy rather than whites, creams and beiges. So… yeah. I don’t like this on her.
Diane Kruger in Naeem Khan. I’ll admit it, I loved this when she was on stage and I could see how it moved. It looked really pretty, and she was one of the few women wearing a bold pattern. But in still photos, I’m not in love with it. It looks like repurposed tablecloth in these photos.

I really like all of these. Reese was stunning at the globes and looks fab here. Not sure why she seems to be Unpopular with a lot of posters, I think she’s smart and a good actress, and combines acting with a family life and business acumen. I’m jealous!

I LOVE Reese’s dress. Not a fan of Amy’s look at all. And I have a dress with the same pattern and fabric as Diane’s but a completely different style. Mine is shorter and fitted. Maybe it looks more like a tablecloth because it’s so flowy and loose? Otherwise, she always looks so pretty.

Amy wore a bridesmaids dress and wore it well. Kruger killed it, may not look it in photos but it looked great on tv.
Thank you, I worked at a wedding store when I was much younger and Amy’s dress was like 25% of our bridesmaid’s styles. Nude color, don’t stand out, tea length….geez, she could step into most wedding parties and coordinate, either with cut or color.

I thought Reece looks good. Amy’s wasn’t the best but wasn’t the worst and Diane’s is nice but it looks like a bandana I saw on a dog at the dog park. recently.
I like both looks, but Diane..Oh, yes!! I love this. It reminds of when those handkerchief slip/sundresses were big several years ago. I’m a sucker for a lovely pattern, esp. when you move. Want it.

Reese’s dress seems to make her shorter in print. So, not crazy about it.
Agreed Amy looks washed out. Design, hair and makeup are fine but the colour needs to change.
I think Diane’s dress is really interesting and she can pull it off. Not many can. It looks like a Ming vase design but I’m not turned off.
Not to be off point, but seeing all the red carpet gowns made me sad that we won’t see any gorgeous L’Wren Scott creations. That said, love Reese’s gown and Diane Kruger knocked it out of the park with that print.

Perhaps the color Amy was wearing would look better on Angelina…anyway, I like Reese’s dress, but the hair seems too big for that. Dislike Diane Kruger’s dress, it has some curtain/table cloth look to it.
I can’t remember the last time I saw Reese Witherspoon in a fug dress, even in candid pics she always kills it, her style is great, maybe not too risky but never boring or tacky.
Diane’s dress is amazing, she has a more risky style and sometimes wears some craps, but when she hits it, hits hard.
I like Reese’s dress. Good combination of pink and black. It looks good on her.
When Reese Witherspoon smiles, her whole face lights up and she is so beautiful. I don’t know why, in the last few years, the shots we see of her…she always looks like she’s about to shank someone.
