Sunday Rose, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s 18-year-old daughter, walked several shows during Paris Fashion Week this year including Valentino and Miu Miu. Sunday made her modeling debut in 2024 at just 16. She’s done a few interviews and she seems as well adjusted as possible for a wealthy celebrity child-turned-model.
Sunday is covering Vogue Germany. In her interview she talks about her work ethic, how she tries to treat people and how she stays grounded. She sounds practical and down-to-earth. Sunday is still in high school, I assume in Nashville, and she’s applying to colleges this year. Here’s more, thanks to People Magazine for the translation:
“I’m very aware that I’m given opportunities that not everyone can have, and I’m truly grateful to be able to take advantage of them,” Sunday Rose told the outlet, adding that she arrives at every job she takes with a positive mindset.
“So when I’m at work, I make sure to always give my best, never come to work with a negative attitude, no matter how tired or jet-lagged I may be, and treat everyone with respect,” she continued.
Sunday Rose was asked if she’s ever “intentionally not” told other people who her famous mom and dad are.
“Not really. I mean, I haven’t intentionally told anyone, but not that many people live in our area, so I think most people just knew when I started school,” she said in response, referring to an area of her life that she’s approached more diligently amid her blossoming modeling career.
“I need to make sure I hand in my assignments on time, because that’s no excuse,” she said.
“I definitely have more challenging classes this year, plus the college applications,” she told the outlet. “There’s a lot to do.”
“It honestly feels like I started school yesterday. A lot of people can’t wait to go to college, but I’d like to take it slow and really enjoy this final year, especially with my friends,” added Sunday Rose.
She went on to say that she’s found a balance between modeling and her schoolwork over the past few months.
“Funnily enough, I think school is what keeps me grounded the most when I’m modeling,” said Sunday Rose. “When I started, I wasn’t sure how to cope with the contrast between those two worlds. But now I’ve found a way to enjoy modeling, traveling and experiencing all these amazing things with these amazing people, and then coming back here and enjoying the comforting feeling of routine and going to school.”
[From two stories on People.com]
Sunday knows she has a lot of opportunities due to her mom (let’s face it, no one gives a sh-t about her dad) and she’s not acting like people don’t know who she is. She’s also doing her best to keep up with school, work hard, be kind and show up prepared. Is it fair that this high school senior is walking the runway for major labels? Probably not, but she’s not telling us she earned it or bragging about her God-given abilities. She’s just trying to be worthy of the jobs she’s being handed. That’s about all we can ask of nepo babies. Some of them are going to want to be models, actors and singers. When they start on third base, at least they can acknowledge it.
I’d like to address the inevitable comments that Sunday doesn’t have “the look.” Have you seen models lately? They aren’t all cookie cutter and she’s unique looking. It’s very possible that she would be a model at this age without her pedigree. She definitely wouldn’t be covering Vogue Germany though.

Do they no longer live/go to school in Nashville? I didn’t understand the “not many people live on our area.” She seems fine. She said all the right things. I’m not sure I agree she’d be a model at all without the name, but her message is a good one for all nepos. Maybe she can lead seminars for them.
If she goes to Harpeth Hall, then everyone would know who she is regardless of whether she actually tells them. Nashville is a pretty small town as cities go. (I have no idea if she goes to HH but google tells me they are still in nashville.)
Fair. And this is hardly a big deal but I went to a large public high school with one minor celebrity kid. Everyone knew who he was (partly because he told everyone) but she has two famous last names. Of course people would know her even in a large community. No judgement for that. I just didn’t understand the comment. (Also I have cousins in Nashville who proudly boast of occasional Nicole Kidman sightings so they’re definitely on display).
Some days she looks like Nicole’s original face and some days she looks likes Keith’s original face.
She is a good blend of her parents originals.
She seems nice. She is just incredibly bland-looking IMO. I think her being tall and her mother being Nicole Kidman are what’s going for her. I mean…what other reason is there to give this child a Vogue cover?? Models who have been in the game and worked far harder haven’t been given that opportunity. I am glad she acknowledges it. But I really wish the fashion industry would stop making nepo babies the focus of modeling. We used to have REAL models! We used to be a society!
I actually like her as a model, because she does look unique – she looks like herself, which is something that so many models have lost or lose and they all look generic.
And yes, this is a good nepo baby response. “I have these opportunities, and I’m going make sure I make them count” is so much better than “my parents have nothing to do with success, I just work harder than other people so thats why i’m starring in a billion dollar franchise at age 18, it has nothing to do with my name being christopher nolan Jr.”
(I have no idea if nolan has children or if they act, lol.)
I’m sorry w/o the mom; she’s just a regular high school kid applying to college.
Exactly
I don’t think she’s making much of her “unique look.”
She’s seems pretty grounded and normal. I like her as a model, I just think they picked a weird photo from the shoot for the cover.
She has a nice look, but that cover photo makes her look like she’s trying not to sneeze.
Clearly she has advantages or she would not be on a magazine. She has the most average-looking face. It’s shocking how ordinary she looks.
Who does she resemble is my question. Nicole and Keith have done so much work on their faces that Sunday doesn’t look either of her parents.
Pete Townsend
Ouch!
Her runway photo in the tan jacket shows a striking resemblance to Nicolas Cage. It’s uncanny.
She looks like the female version of Jeremy Allen White. Yes – she is unique… just like everyone else. Without the Kidman-Urban name she wouldn’t have a chance. JAW has that rizz that enhances everything about him. I’m not seeing that in her.
Rach, you got it! She does look like she could be Jeremy Allen White’s daughter.
Interesting. I didn’t see that till you said it. But JAW is famous because he’s got the IT factor. He is talented, charming and you believe his characters. He makes them real. Maybe she has that talent. IDK. But I want people to be interesting and famous for something more than their looks. So I hope she does.
Yes! You nailed it.
She looks like nic cage!
She seems like a nice, grounded young woman. And it’s great that she doesn’t have Instagram Face. But despite being tall and thin and reasonably pretty, I don’t see her being a model at all if not for her connections. She doesn’t have the presence or striking looks for it. I would contrast her with Kaia Gerber and Apple Martin. While they both lack their mother’s It Factor, they do make me look twice: Kaia because she’s exceptionally pretty and Apple because of those huge wide-spaced eyes. Sunday just doesn’t grab me.
Everyone on years of ANTM were tall, thin, and pretty — and very few of them had modeling careers after the show. She is 100% a model because of her famous parents.
When I saw the last name Urban, I immediately though of Karl Urban and was like when did he and Nicole have a baby??? hahaha >_< she's quite pretty!
I mean…who is gonna convince anyone that she would have been picked out of a crowd as in days past…she looks like a basic Gen Z bored out of her skull and not even trying to find an expression. They must have said “look vacant, like your head is completely empty.”
No offense…not everyone can do that. Well, most of Gen Z can I guess.
Not sure about most of Gen Z, but she definitely has that vacant, empty-headed look and then some. She kind of reminds me of some of the girls I remember from high school, the ones who hung out in the smoking area (yes, my high school had a smoking area, it was a different time, LOL) with their equally vacant and empty-headed looking boyfriends. But I like her hair.
The strange thing about models is they do look kind of vacant, but there’s something they do with their faces that makes it look….cool? I can’t explain.
What this girl is doing with her face….is not passing the Kate Moss or Gisele Bundchen test.
There have always been a few weird-looking models, but they’re usually weird-looking enough where it actually works. Here, the weirdness comes more from the average quality.
Lily Cole, Honor Fraser and Erin O’Connor spring to mind. But all unusual in a much more striking way than Sunday.
I was thinking Penelope Tree. Weird but interesting.
Let’s be real. NONE of them would be covering Vogue Germany without their parents, including Kaia Gerber or Kendall Kardashian. Or Apple Martin although I don’t place her with the models who have had covers. She’s certainly trying to.
She is kind of cookie-cutter, like an average-looking person. If she looks distinct as a model, it’s because nothing about her really stands out, including her gaze into the camera. Even though nepotism is involved, I’m still shocked this can pass for modelling. I’m trying to decide if these shots would pass for being in a teen magazine like Seventeen, and I’m still not really convinced.
In the past, I would never have confused her with being a model.
At least she acknowledges she gets her opportunities because of her mom which automatically makes me back down from criticizing her. From what I can tell, she seems like a nice enough person, and perhaps credit goes to both her and her parents for that.
Maybe I skimmed too fast, and maybe it was addressed, though I didn’t see it, but I’ve wondered why she doesn’t consider acting instead? Or is the modelling supposed to be a springboard to acting? Although there are no real “rules” to modelling, including how someone should look, I do feel people will be less nitpicky about your looks if you choose acting since it’s considered more of an artform. We have too many past examples to compare current day models to. And although the standards can change, you can tell when someone pops as a model. A lot of today’s examples don’t.
Acting definitely requires more skill to pull off than modeling. But she’s also really young and they often cast people older than her even to play teens. And she may be too tall for casting directors too. I’ve heard most actors are on the shorter side of average.
I just don’t get it. She is a Dior ambassador(?) and in all the videos, she just is bland compared to the other beautiful and unique models. I cringe every time I see her. And I feel mean for feeling that way because she is so young.
Model??????…lol
Nicole had a unique look once, a frizzy haired redhead with a toothy smile.
Did Nicole model before becoming an actress?
yes
I have to disagree that she looks unique. I think the issue most people have with her is that she’s plain. Apple Martin (without the awful lip filler) is much more “unique” looking. Sunday Rose is ordinary-looking. She wouldn’t stand out in a crowd full of teens her age.
Does Apple have filler? I’ve seen old photos of her and it seems she always had a quirky upper lip.
Ok, I know I’m biased, but I think my daughter is so much prettier and more unique looking than Sunday Rose and nobody’s knocking down HER door to be on the cover of Vogue. 😀
I’m glad she recognizes her privilege. She’s a lovely young woman but she wouldn’t be a model if it weren’t for her name.
She looks exactly like the typical (standard size) model for today – extreme youth, height, lanky slimness, great skin, and the perfect almost blank-slate, almost androgynous face that is so bookable now. The interesting part is she has kind of doleful eyes which make her look less cookie-cutter. So, yeah, she could’ve been recruited anyway but it definitely boosts her into major visibility to be Nicole Kidman’s daughter, duh. She comes across as articulate and level-headed, which is very refreshing – I’m rooting for her, nepo baby or not.
She has that model look and the most important accessory her mother that brings media attention to any fashion event. Straight from the Stella McCartney playbook.
It’s refreshing to see a child of privilege acknowledge it and not take for granted their doors open faster than others. No one is speaking about their talent or hard work. They are still starting on 3rd base.
I feel strange commenting on her looks for some reason. I’ll just say I don’t get any of them and there are 2 exceptions. I find Apple Martin somewhat interesting. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is about her but there is, in my opinion, something unique there and I think she could have modeled even without her famous parents.
Kaia is gorgeous. She has the curse of constantly being compared to her mom, and there is no touching her mom. However, in motion, Kaia has something. She’s also very photogenic. I find her interesting and yes she would be scouted even without her famous mom in the picture.
I get that they are still getting a lot more opportunities early on in their careers because of who their parents are.
I’ll add had Kylie Jenner kept her original face, she could have for sure done some print. She was the most beautiful of all of them before she messed with her original face.
That having been said, I am spoiled rotten. I grew up in the supermodel era we had Naomi. We had Christi. We had Linda, Iman, Karen Alexander, Alek, and later Amber Valetta, Adriana Lima. Doutzen They were absolute perfection – on the runway in print. Drop dead gorgeous and interesting. Today’s models just don’t have it. They’re generic. They’re collectively way too skinny (and I’m not body shaming but my day a supermodel wasn’t a size 0 they had curves and cleavage and you couldn’t take your eyes off their legs, face, bodies. Today’s models are basic in comparison.
There are a few exceptions what I am saying about today’s models obviously but collectively speaking they are missing the charisma, the mystery, the sex appeal. As a generation of models they are utterly forgettable. And I am just bored with them in general and not at all interested – I’d rather look at cat or bird videos then read their interviews. And I still read interviews, just not theirs.
The fashion industry is partly to blame for this. Some of it is social media (no mystery anymore) but also magazines like Vogue cultivated a culture where they put actors and singers on their covers, and models sort of got disregarded and took a backseat for a while. You can tell because it’s a lost art.
Tall, skinny, and young goes a long way. As do famous parents, but still.
