Michael Sheen, 50, welcomed a daughter with his 25-year-old girlfriend Anna

Michael Sheen and girlfriend Anna Lundberg leaving the GQ Awards

In late 2016, Michael Sheen moved back to the UK after spending many years living and working in America. By that I mean that he worked all over, but he seemed to be happily based in LA for many years so he could co-parent his daughter Lily with his ex-partner Kate Beckinsale. Everything worked out really well – Sheen worked consistently in films and TV, he was around to see his daughter grow up and get into college and all of that. Then in 2016, after Brexit and the “election” of Trump, Sheen made a big deal about moving back to Wales and wanting to get back to his British roots. He broke up with Sarah Silverman when Lily was in college, and the move seemed well-timed. He dating a young, hip comedian named Aisling Bea for a time. Then this summer, he announced that he was expecting another child, this time with his girlfriend Anna Lundberg. Anna is 25 and Sheen is 50. Adding to the WTFery, it really seemed like Anna got pregnant about a month or two into their relationship. Well… they had the baby.

Michael Sheen has welcomed a baby girl with girlfriend Anna Lundberg, MailOnline can exclusively reveal. The 50-year-old actor’s father Meyrick, 80, confirmed the 25-year-old Swedish actress had given birth, and said they were ‘thrilled to bits’ about the news.

Speaking about the happy announcement on Friday, Michael’s beaming father gushed: ‘We are thrilled to bits, over the moon.’ Adding that he had seen pictures of the baby, Meyrick said it was ‘great news’, and said he and his wife celebrated the birth by ‘raising a glass.’

[From The Daily Mail]

That happened… fast. Anna basically got pregnant around Christmas 2018, which is a lot earlier than most people initially believed. In fact, most media outlets calculated that Anna and Michael only started dating around the start of the year. So… it’s all happening.

Also: I did that big build-up about Sheen leaving LA three years ago, because now it seems that he’s back? Full time? He’s in the new Fox show Prodigal Son. So… what was all of that about? I think Sheen is just a wanderer. And I also think he’s never going to marry any of these women he dates and/or impregnates.

Anna looks so much like January Jones, right? January and Reese Witherspoon.

Men keep dating younger women, and there are plenty of young women willing to date old dudes…this is bound to happen 🙂

    • (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

Let’s correct that: “… old dudes with money/connections.” If he was Sydney the plumber she wouldn’t give him the time of day,

      • Amy says:

LOL so true! And I do like him as an actor, but he looks like a makeup-less clown in that top pic. She’s *gorgeous* though!

  2. recharge says:

he is nothing to look at

    • Lady Baden-Baden says:

Maybe – but clearly there’s something there for all those hot women. Sarah Silverman, Kate Beckinsale, Rachel McAdams, Aisling Bea, this January Jones clone… Maybe he’s a cunning linguist?

ETA @Kaiser – I love the thumbnail pic of him you’ve chosen for the homepage! Exactly how I imagine a 50 year old man might look when presented with a newborn!

      • Ennie says:

        +1.
In his younger days he had a quirky appeal, now not so much, but he still has his personality, he is probably rich and he must have experience to make up for the physical appeal. Some people just get all the hotties. (That Frenchman who married Jane Fonda and some other if the sexiest women of his time comes to mind).

    • Mumbles says:

He used to be cute, in The Queen and Frost/Nixon. Now he looks like a middle-aged British eccentric.

    • Betsy says:

Certainly not in that header picture!

    • wellsie says:

He looks like an infant a bit, eh? Yikes. He’s really fallen apart lately.

    • minx says:

He used to be cute in a kind of rascally way, twinkle in the eye, etc. But suddenly he’s not aging well. He is going to have to watch his weight, his facial bones can’t handle any extra volume. The hair doesn’t help either.

  3. Ripley says:

At first I saw more Reese Witherspoon than January Jones. But now I can see both.

Congratulations to them both. He seems to have an excellent relationship with his older daughter.

  4. grabbyhands says:

Sometimes I look at him and I think about how he played Lucien in Underworld and how hot he was and then I’m confused.

    That’s all I got.

  5. Booney says:

Fair play if he wants to shag around, but why not get the snip? Especially when he’s been so vocal about not wanting more kids. Hard to believe wealthy, famous men are so naive about a young woman ‘accidentally’ getting pregnant.

    • Annie says:

Those guys never doubt a young girl’s love lol. It couldn’t possibly be about the money. No, sir. He really still got it!

It’s incredibly dumb for men of any age to still accidentally impregnate strangers but they do tend to leave birth control to us.

      • Yup, Me says:

There’s no fool like an old fool…

Maybe the saying should be “There’s no fool like an arrogant, old, formerly hot celebrity fool.” That would include Mick, Alec and a whole host of these men.

      • Andrea says:

        Love this quote!

    • Susan says:

Hugh Grant talked all the time about avoiding fatherhood and never got the snip. And now he’s got 5 children and got married in his sixties. Similar to Clooney. They all talk the good talk and end up scared of having no one there in the end.

      • Andrea says:

Hugh clearly had several oopsies and ended up marrying the mother of 3 of his kids at least. Really messy though because he had two women pregnant at the same time at one point!

  6. Anna says:

Can somebody explain the appeal of this guy to me and how he continues to bag beautiful women? He looks like a fat ferret to me.

  7. Valiantly Varnished says:

He’s still a working actor so his working in LA isn’t that shocking. But his home base may still be the UK. Also – Sheen has been quite open and honest about the facts that he doesn’t want to marry and doesn’t really believe in it. So any woman who decides to have a relationship with him knows this. As long as he’s honest about it I dont see an issue. It becomes an issue if perhaps his partner at the moment thinks she can change his mind. Which isnt going to happen.

  8. Layla Beans says:

So, to sum up, Michael Sheen got a random pregnant.

    • smcollins says:

      Right here 👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻

      • Layla Beans says:

They will do the obligatory “we’re a couple” thing to hide the fact he got a random pregnant, and then they will split “as best friends and co-parents” by baby’s second birthday. We’ve all read this book before, Mike.

That being said, I like him as an actor and he was a scream on 30 Rock.

  9. eto says:

Michael Sheen gets the same reaction from me that Wesley Snipes got from Liz Lemon in 30 Rock. I do not see the appeal, never will!

  10. chlo says:

I don’t understand the dislike for this guy! He is by all accounts a nice person. Yeah, he’s dating someone young, but he’s had a series of long-term relationships, and it seems like he has a good relationship with most of his exes? We aren’t talking about Leo here. I do like him, but I’m not a huge stan. I’m just surprised by all of the negativity.

    • Mumbles says:

I have heard he wasn’t the nicest boyfriend to Sarah Silverman.

    • Berlina says:

I am almost sorry to agree with the fact that this seems like it was and wasn’t an accident. I mean, I’ve had a couple of accidents in my entire life with partners of more than a few months, and the trip to the chemist/doctor is a no brainer.
So not sure how this could happen without this girl knowing what she was doing…

I sort of like him, his concern for Wales and putting her money with his mouth is, but this was oddly disappointing, in the sense that I thought he wasn’t the type. It does sound like a NY hook up/fling that went places (he doesn’t spend much time there to start with).

But the thing that strikes me most odd is that they never hold hands or look affectionate in public. Check his red carpets with other girlfriends and then his pics with this girl. She’s sort of grabbing/holding him, like in that one. Hope he’s not embarrased after all…

      • Berlina says:

Ps. Not her money, obvs. As an aspiring actress now living off him in Wales and London, it’s obviously his money I meant.

Sort of glad to see he wasn’t a douchebag and realised that her situation as a single mother just graduated from drama school in NY was not ideal, and took responsibility.

  11. Ann says:

50 year old men shouldn’t be fathering children.

    • Andrea says:

What about 60 and 70 year old men ala Alec Baldwin, Mick Jagger, and Rod Stewart?

      • Ann says:

Same, should have written 50 and over. Sperm mutates and children of older fathers have a much higher risk of all sorts of diseases, see Advanced Paternal Syndrome.

    • Ennie says:

Poor me and quite some if second marriage children. Believe me, I had a very involved active father (he was 53 when I was born)who passed away when I was an adult and had adult grandchildren.
I adopted at 47, I probably shouldn’t have adopted either.

      • Ann says:

Glad you had a great childhood but I stand by my opinion, no 20 year old should have a 70 year + old father.

  12. Cupcake says:

She is beautiful, but she’s 25 so of course she is. I do feel sorry for any woman having a baby with a man twice her age. I just do.

    • 2lazy4username says:

Sure, it could’ve been an oops, but juding by the look on her face, there is nothing to feel sorry about. She knows what she’s doing.

      • Andrea says:

I agree, the look on her face looks like yesss I got em! Let’s hope she doesn’t think she will marry him.

    • Ali says:

“She is beautiful, but she’s 25 so of course she is.“ lol love this

  13. teehee says:

Well, given that women are byfar more often reflective and self aware, we typically mature much sooner than men so it makes sense to date an older guy who finally is up to par. And once men soften up a bit with age, they are less likely to be selfish or entirely focused on work only.

    So I wish them well!

    • Trutful says:

      ….yeah…. not really….

There is absolutely no gender-related difference to maturity… but there is to perpetrating false beliefs so young women continue to fair game to men of any age…

    • Ann says:

It never makes “sense” for a young woman to waste her youth on a vampiric older man,

    • Joanna says:

The only things I’ve found out by dating older men is that there’s a reason why they’re not married or in a relationship. Jmo 😝

  14. Yamayo says:

To be fair Sheen is very smart, self-deprecating and funny.
He has done a lot to support the working class Welsh town he is from, and he seems to be a decent guy.

As far as older men I would see the appeal of him, as opposed to a Tom Cruise of Brad Pitt type.

  15. GreenQueen says:

I am pregnant and cannot even imagine having the father of this child be twice my age. Nope, no way. It’s just plain irresponsible. While yes, Sheen has done some very wonderful things for his communities and by all accounts seems to have a good relationship with his daughter and Kate, he is clearly not exempt from taking advantage of his position in this world. And that is very clearly what is happening with this woman.

He would have to be a complete daft prick to think she is interested in him for anything but his status and wealth. And to knowingly put that fact aside to continue a relationship with someone because you essentially enjoy f***ing someone’s young body and face is just really gross. While his daughter is an adult and in college her brain is still growing and she is certainly affected by the personal and romantic decisions her father makes and I cannot imagine this having a net positive affect on her own relationship with men, romantic or not. You don’t stop being a parent once your child is 18.

Had this been my father I would be incredibly disappointed, disgusted and can only imagine it would seriously strain our relationship and I would lose a huge amount of respect for him AS A PERSON. I would still love that little new sibling of mine but would never be able to think highly of my father again. Good luck to all parties, I imagine they will need it.

Statistically, this won’t work out but hey Alec Baldwin has seemingly enjoyed being used for his semen so maybe Sheen will too!

  16. Andrea says:

Isn’t the reason he broke up with Rachael McAdams was because she wanted kids and now he has one with a woman who is 10 years younger than her?!?

    • Clay says:

..and a woman who’s been with him for like 5 minutes before getting pregnant. I think he does a lot of overlapping, this time it went all wrong. I give it a few months for him to play committed and loving dad and then he will ran away onto the next. Luckily he’s learnt the lesson and will carry a bunch of condoms from now on

      • Andrea says:

He should get snipped if he doesn’t want anymore children. It is a simple outpatient procedure and I know several men who have had them. I don’t understand why he and Hugh Grant didn’t do this.

  17. 2lazy4username says:

In that second to last pic where she is holding her stomach, she is totally thinking, “I’ve locked it down!”

  18. Mtec says:

And now he’s a father of two! Congrats to him!

  19. Clay says:

oh boy oh boy…when (the lack of) a simple condom can change your life forever

    • Joanna says:

Ikr?! I never understood how guys were so anxious to take a condom off. If I was a man and there was a chance I’d end up paying child support for 18 years, I’d sleep w a condom on lol.

  20. Andrea says:

I worry about this a bit. I am interested in my long term male friend who is 40 and never had children and wants to travel like I do and no have children. At 38, I also am without children, I have no intention of having any. Stories like these scare me because what if he wakes up at 50 wanting a child?

    • Ennie says:

Talk about it. See how he thinks. I am married to a younger man, we couldn’t conceive for a long time and adopted because the baby almost fell on our lap. We were ok without, but are very happy with our little girl even tho we were scared s**tless and thought we weren’t prepared (both adults). He gets angry when hears about a man who only wants biológicas children, we know several cases like those. There are other problems that can break up a relationship anyway. My older sister from my father’s first marriage has been in a happy childfree marriage (they decided it they became a couple) for the longest time and are both seniors. If you decide it, go for it.

  21. M says:

I’m sure his daughter is THRILLED that her dad had a baby with someone her age. Yikes. Men like this make me nauseated.

  22. Raluca says:

The comments in this thread are so incredibly judgemental! Condoms can break, birth control pills may fail, they probably didn’t expect it or wanted the pregnancy to happen, but they knowingly decided to move forward and have the baby. Whatever, they’re not hurting anyone. His daughter is old enough to patch things up with her father if their relationship is supposedly strained.
I don’t understand the unrealistic expectations strangers have towards other people.

    • Andrea says:

As women in our society, we sadly have a certain shelf life with regards to fertility. There are many older women who have been left for much younger women because the younger women can procreate. I knew in graduate school many professors who left their wives of 20 or 30 years for their graduate assistants/students. Our society’s general impression is men get more handsome as they age, women just get old. I know so many women in their early 30’s who start with botox/fillers/etc to reverse the signs of aging. I have invested in countless creams, to prevent wrinkles etc, but draw the line at plastic surgery of any kind. When a much older man gets with a much younger woman, it really is a bit of an affront to women in his age group.

I’m 38 and I simply cannot compete lookswise with a 22 or even 28 year old. I know a lot of men who tinder and get with women 10-15 years younger and seem uninterested in women my age at all. Where does that leave me in 10 years when 50 year old men are procreating with 25 year olds? Does that make sense?

      • Joanna says:

Oh, Andrea, I’ve been in your shoes. At 32 or 33, I was freaking out over the beginnings of wrinkles. Guys my age were only interested in women younger than me. I was so discouraged, disgusted by men my age or older who thought I was “too old” for them. Long story short, I met my husband, who is 6 months younger than me. He loved that I was his age, told me I looked pretty, I didn’t look old. He WANTED to get serious, he wanted to get married. Then I realized that all those guys looking for those younger women, were just looking to get laid. They knew women their age wanted more and they didn’t. So in the long run, those guys are doing you a favor when they pass you up for a younger woman. They’re leaving you for a man who will love you, value you and WANT to grow old w you. PS, I’m 43 now and younger men hit on me. You don’t die after 30, life gets better actually. Just fyi

      • Andrea says:

        @Joanna Thank you!!!

      • Anna says:

What Joanna said. I’m 47 and have been dating several hot guys much younger than me (I’m married and polyamorous). My current bf is 29, we have been together for 2.5 years. He is super serious about the relationship while I’m keeping it more casual. Also: sex just keeps getting better. Life MOST CERTAINLY doesn’t end at 40 ;).

    • GreenQueen says:

Let me correct that for you: birth control pills don’t fail, people fail at using them

He doesn’t strike me as the guy to have condoms break due to his massive member.

AND Condoms breaking is not a common thing.
And if you knew and saw that the condom broke or that he came inside you and you have been terrible about taking your pill correctly or you were on antibiotics then the normal reaction would be to run to the drug store and pop a plan B. These aren’t a bunch of young kids not knowing how to prevent a pregnancy.

Young women trying to get rich off a wealthy and famous old man are EXTREMELY COMMON. B knew what she was doing, and anyone with half a brain can see it.

      • Andrea says:

@GreenQueen I hadn’t even gotten into the topic you delved into, but a resounding YES to all of the above as well! I have many friends who got pregnant due to reckless behavior NOT because birth control failed, but rather because they decided to “leave it up to fate”, “didn’t think they’d get pregnant” etc. I know one woman’s husband specifically who refused to wear condoms than was surprised his wife wanted to keep the child and not abort it. He got snipped afterwards. I know other friends who DID use Plan B when condoms did break, but those were very rare incidences. It is about being responsible, something you’d expect someone to be capable of doing so in their 50’s.

      • Megbot2000 says:

That is simply not true, Green, and very misogynistic. The contraceptive pill if taken correctly is still only 99.7-99.99% effective.

      • Berlina says:

“And if you knew and saw that the condom broke or that he came inside you and you have been terrible about taking your pill correctly or you were on antibiotics then the normal reaction would be to run to the drug store and pop a plan B. These aren’t a bunch of young kids not knowing how to prevent a pregnancy.”

        In a nutshell.
It’s so obvious that I reckon that’s why he’s so touchy about it all.

  23. Marisse says:

I don’t understand people that do this. He’s 50 and his child was just born. When his child is 30 he will be 80. Don’t these ppl even *care* how that affects the child emotionally? Having to consider your parent’s mortality so early in life and ultimately losing them earlier…the selfishness is off the charts. Shame on every guy that does this (and women too).

    • ennie says:

I had older parents and I can’t complain. It’s like those who are genetically prone to some disease shouldn’t have kids because they could die young. This guy whatever shadiness has in his life, is entitled as are women or men that pospone motherhood due to work or studies and become parents later in life. I agree along as they are not so old, like 60 or 70 like some use we have seen lately.

  24. Megbot2000 says:

He’s definitely not back in LA, he just finished shooting the UK TV drama “Quiz” a few days ago and is currently developing a Welsh dystopian drama series which will be filmed in Wales next year.

Eta – I googled and he shot the “Prodigal Son” pilot back in March. I don’t know how many episodes he’s in but it doesn’t look like a big part.

  25. tw says:

my lord, he and Kate Beckinsale were made for each other
    messy messy the two are

  26. Charfromdarock says:

I’ve got nothing except that I love Aisling Bee. She’s too good for him!

  27. undergalaxy says:

fwiw I think he’s handsome but then again I can’t resist a Welshman (same with Burton, Ifans, etc.)
