Flaccid moron Tucker Carlson: Dr. Jill Biden is ‘borderline illiterate’

Politicon 2018 at the LA convention Center, Sunday.

The attacks on Dr. Jill Biden for being a highly educated woman are part of a coordinated and manufactured right-wing “culture war.” It’s a group of right-wing men – columnists, editors and talk-show personalities – all talking to other men and laughing about how funny it is that the incoming First Lady of the United States prioritized her own education, and the education of other people. They wanted this culture war. They want “Jill Biden’s doctorate in education” to become the new “Obama’s birth certificate.” But we’re older and wiser now, right? We won’t let them get away with turning this into their bullsh-t culture war? Tucker Carlson has really gone all in on mocking Dr. Jill Biden – and all educated women – on his show. Last night was apparently the third night in a row that he did a segment on Dr. Jill.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson obsessed over Jill Biden’s doctorate in education for the third night in a row on Wednesday, this time devoting roughly ten minutes to mocking her dissertation while claiming the incoming first lady is “borderline illiterate.” After targeting Biden once again on Tuesday night, Carlson made it a trifecta on Wednesday evening by trashing the soon-to-be first lady’s doctoral dissertation and trying to smear her as someone who “can’t write.”

Spending a few minutes joking about how Biden’s “not a healer” and merely has “an education degree from some school in Delaware,” Carlson—whom Fox News lawyers have successfully argued shouldn’t be taken seriously—then pivoted to questioning Biden’s intelligence.

“We read her dissertation this week,” he declared, adding: “Dr. Jill needs reading glasses, either that, or she’s borderline illiterate. There are typos everywhere, including in the first graph of the introduction. Dr. Jill can’t write, she can’t really think clearly, either. Part of the dissertation seems to be written in a foreign language using English words. They’re essentially pure nonsense like pig Latin or dogs barking. The whole thing is incredibly embarrassing. And not simply to poor illiterate Jill Biden, but to the college that considered this scholarship.”

The conservative Fox News host was just getting started, ramping up his insults by saying that Biden’s “doctoral dissertation was our national shame.”

[From The Daily Beast]

It’s painful to read this, but I feel like we actually need to know what this f–kers are saying so we can rebut it, or else this sh-t will drag out like the Birther crap. Carlson’s audience clearly wants to hear that Dr. Jill Biden isn’t so fancy after all, that it’s okay if they can’t understand her dissertation, because Tucker read it and he didn’t understand either! Git er done! Anyway, these flaccid bugf–kers really are the worst, and Dr. Jill Biden remains unproblematic. When the Bidens come into the White House, the Carlsons and Epsteins of the world are going to begin building the case that Dr. Jill needs to quit her job as a professor because Murica. That where these attacks are leading. Not only that, if Dr. Biden continues to work at the community college, Carlson and the right-wing media will incite their followers to go on campus and harass her and her students.

They are projecting their inadequacies to her. Says a lot about them, really.

    • Eleonora says:

Exactly. That’s why I encourage and support women’s ambitions always. Doesn’t matter if it’s on a website or in real life.

Men always try to drag us down, but want us to be impressed when they can barely write an email in their native language.

      • marehare says:

My husband always supported my working toward higher level of position in the US Gov where I worked for 44 years. My dad supported my mom’s ambition also. Weak pathetic men like the men on Fox are afraid of intelligent women. They are such pitiful examples of manhood.

    • Snappyfish says:

Jon Stewart went on Tucker Carlson years ago & during Carlson’s batshit tirade Jon called him an asshole. That is all anyone needs to know & THAT was decades ago. Fox News says Carlson should be taken grain of salt. It is funny how threatened these men are over strong powerful well educated women.

    • Trillion says:

on a scale of Jason Mamoa (zero) to Donald Trump (1,000), just how insecure
      IS Tucker Carlson?

    • Holly hobby says:

Maybe Fucker Carlson doesn’t know how to read. His fancy college degree was bought and paid for. What a waste oxygen.

If these turds are going to pick on a teacher I don’t think there are a lot of people here who would join in.

  2. Eleonora says:

Another mediocre man getting everything handed to him and not being able to deal with women who actually worked hard.

    • Tiffany :) says:

He is so lacking, and I’m embarrassed for him (again). He seems so needy and misogynistic, but he doesn’t have the awareness to realize how obvious it is.

    • Mac says:

Carlson reads a dissertation, doesn’t understand it, and somehow assumes he’s not the one who’s borderline illiterate. These snowflakes can’t handle a smart woman.

    • emu says:

exactly. privileged d*bag making fun of educated women.

  3. Midnight@theOasis says:

Why these attacks on Dr. Jill Biden? Is the hateful right going to disrespect Jill the same way they did Michelle Obama? There are nude pics of Melanie all over the Internet, Melanie lied about her education and has done nothing of value as First Lady but she gets praise.

    • Eleonora says:

Same reason why men always talk about each other’s mothers. Many men are too fragile to handle insults directed at themselves or their own gender. They see women as better targets.

    • Trillion says:

Melania, “Fuck Christmas decorations and stuff” Trump. Class act.

    • Sigmund says:

Didn’t come up with this, but I saw someone else say that the Republicans would rather have a woman who poses nude than a woman who’s a doctor in the White House, and it’s true. A woman’s worth is first and foremost her body to these people. If she’s not using that, she can’t possibly be valuable to them.

      • coffee_coffee_coffee says:

This is is exactly. In their worldview, women exist for men’s consumption. Women belong in bed or in the kitchen. Vomit-inducing BS.

      • Golly Gee says:

Not just that, but they’re too insecure and feel threatened when having to deal with an intelligent, accomplished woman.. They need to be able to feel superior and that means setting the bar for women very, very low.

    • escondista says:

The right always has a woman boogeyman to attack on the left. If it isn’t Hillary, it’s Michelle. If it isn’t Michelle, it’s AOC. If it isn’t AOC, its Tlaib. If it isn’t Tlaib, it’s Dr Biden. We can go in circles here too – this isn’t linear! Angry sexism is one of the primary engines running their machine so the spotlight won’t be on Dr. Biden for long. They’ll either manufacture or recycle some faux drama about another democrat woman soon to keep the base engaged.

      • Becks1 says:

They are about to pivot to Vice-President-Elect Harris and they’ll stay on her for the next four years. This is only a slight detour.

      • Rapunzel says:

Becks1- they’re definitely going to pivot to Harris. But Dr. JIll is becoming a target here. For no reason, but still. It’s Obama using Dijon mustard all over again, and it works.

  4. kelleybelle says:

Small penis. Women scare him too much. How does this classless douchebag get away with such slander?

  5. Daisyfly says:

Just a reminder that Fox Executives are on record as saying that no one with a modicum of intelligence takes Tucker Carlson seriously.

Tucker takes himself very, very seriously.

  6. Rapunzel says:

Typos? Is he for real? The man who kisses “Cofeve” Trump’s a– has no right to ever criticize typos. Ever.

I don’t believe he even read the dissertation. Or he’s accusing her of illiteracy because he doesn’t understand the words.

    • Noodle says:

@rapunzel, seriously. No university would allow their name to be attached to a poorly written dissertation. Not to mention the editors (we were required to retain one for our dissertations) and committee members whose names and reputations are at stake. I wonder if he is reacting to the wording required in dissertations (which sometimes don’t fit into the common understanding of grammar rules) or a style rule required by APA, Chicago, etc. I haven’t read her dissertation, but having gone through the process, what he describes is highly, highly unlikely.

      • Rapunzel says:

Having written a 115 page Master’s thesis, I’m sure there may be a stray typo here and there (I refuse to reread it cause I don’t want to know). It’s statistically likely that in over a 100 pages of writing, a small error or two might exist. There’s so many words, it’s difficult to near impossible to catch everything. And that means nothing except the people working on the writing are human.

A couple typos is no biggie and I’m sure even if there is one or two, Dr. Biden’s dissertation is still fantastic and well written. And she is certainly not illiterate.

It’s super rich that these anti-intellectulists are criticizing Dr. Biden for not sounding intellectual enough.

      • Noodle says:

I am sure my dissertation has a stray typo here or there as well. And like you, I don’t care enough at this point to go find it. A stray typo is very different than what he describes, especially since he extends his impression to call her illiterate. I’d love to read some of his writing and take my red pen of justice to it. I will make his paper bleed.

      • Juniper says:

I’ve also heard rumblings of it’s “not long enough” at 175 pages and it should have been at least 250-275 pages. Page length is not equal to the points you make and prove.

  7. kat says:

Not American, but could Dr. Biden or “some school in Delaware” sue Fox News or Tucker Carlson for defamation?

    • equality says:

As incoming first lady, I doubt she would but I wish the school would.

    • Helen says:

Considering I just downloaded a preview of it, was able to understand what she was saying, nd noticed zero typos, I would say yes. It’s not defamation, it’s slander. Easily proved slander.

    • Badrockandroll says:

FOX has previously and successfully defended Carlson in slander lawsuits by claiming that no one takes him seriously. And slander is a pretty high hill to climb in the USA – First Amendment, plus one has to prove that Carlson knowingly lied.
So sure, a party could sue, but to what end? Carlson will keep being Carlson, and not only will he likely “win”, he will also be seen as a victim. There have been successful boycotts of his advertisers but that hasn’t really stopped him or FOX.
Tom Cruise used to sue in Britain, where the ideas behind freedom of speech are less entrenched. Perhaps since Murdoch has ties there, that might not be a bad idea for someone other than the next First Lady to try, but it would be a PR disaster for Biden to forum shop overseas.

      • equality says:

Some people on Twitter seem to take him seriously. What is disturbing is the number of women who are applauding him. If he claims to have read the dissertation and found typos and there are none wouldn’t that prove he lied about something? And if he is accusing the university of being bought off to supply the doctorate why can they not sue? He is causing harm to their brand.

    • Thirtynine says:

I agree. The college should sue, as he seems to be saying she obtained her doctorate fraudulently. If he can be legally sued, (I’m not a lawyer so I don’t really know) he should be. I don’t agree with taking the high road and turning the other cheek. I’m more like Harry and Meghan – no, this is false, I’ll see you in court. There has to be real pushback against these kinds of lies, they harm everybody, both those attacked and those who listen and believe. Biden and team don’t have to be emotional and vindictive, but there needs to be a clear line in the sand which says, ‘we don’t tolerate this. Step over it, and there will be consequences.’

  8. Elizabeth says:

This just gets stupider and stupider, wow.

On a positive note, I LOVE her for working with community college students, who, as she points out in her dissertation, are often people who are marginalized. Her emphasis on student retention means a lot to me as a former student at a community college (and a former adjunct at a community college).

    • Esmom says:

It’s insane. And as someone who served in local government with a bunch of pre-Trump Tea Partiers who lived to demonize teachers, it hurts my heart.

    • Noodle says:

Agree with your comments about the importance of community colleges. They form the scaffold where students can build critical skills, and support educational and professional transformation. I am FT faculty at a university, and when I ask students where they learned to write well, many of them attribute their skills to a community college professor who really held them accountable and helped them refine their writing skills.

Community colleges are often the bridge from adolescence to adulthood, and play an integral role in our society. Further, they support a variety of vocations for those seeking training which don’t require a degree. Lastly, I totally agree that CCs enfranchise those who are often marginalized. Their low cost makes them accessible, and often, students will discover skills and strengths they didn’t know they had. That discovery leads them to pursue careers or further education previously not thought possible.

    • Juniper says:

We are literally working on student retention and making it easier for students to return to higher education at my place of work. Dr. Biden’s dissertation is highly relevant and her assessment of the student population is spot on.

  9. El says:

As they keep attacking her degree from a state school, I keep thinking how these gop folks call democrats elitist.

    • Ann says:

Me too! Ben Shapiro has tons to say on this topic. He keeps bringing up his Harvard law degree while saying you shouldn’t be impressed but really you actually should cause it’s Harvard. So much elitism swirling around in that Ivy league educated little brain of his that he just can’t help himself from shitting all over a public university. So much freaking hypocrisy!

    • Flamingo says:

He went to Trinity College. Sorry if you are a Trinity College grad, but I’ve never heard of it. State school bashing is some elitist bullshit especially if you went to a school that is barely ranked. All kinds of rich and influential people have no problem sending their kids state schools. What do Maria Shriver, the Obamas, and Madonna all have in common? They sent their kid to state school (U of M, Go Blue!). Even with his Daddy’s connections, ol’ Tucker never would have been admitted to that state school or the majority of very highly ranked state schools.

    • Betsy says:

      Every accusation is a confession.

  10. Liz version 700 says:

Jesus this man is weak. What a pathetic 4th grade school bully. I doubt she bothers herself too much about this. After seeing her tackle the man who tried to get to Biden on that one campaign stop…..I wouldn’t mess too much with Jill. She is smart and bad ass…unlike small penis energy Tucker

  11. LaraW” says:

Apropos of nothing: Why is it that Tucker Carlson looks like a salted slug in every picture? Whenever I see him I keep waiting for the next photo to be of his face melting into a glob of mucus.

    • Maggi says:

dang, that is one vivid visual about this shmuck that I will be happy to keep 😉

    • Flamingo says:

I’ve told this story on here before, but I’ll tell it again. My husband got in an argument with a neighbor about her dog pooping on our front yard. The neighbor retorted with an expletive filled rant where she called him a fat Tucker Carlson look alike. What a fantastic burn! Now when he annoys me, I call him Tucker Carlson and we both get a good laugh over it.

      • anniefannie says:

@ OMG Flamingo I keep scrolling back to reread this and losing it every time! I don’t know who I like more in this scenario the
“Johnny on the spot burn neighbor” or you guys for having the where with all too see the humor. Either way thanks for the belly laughs!

      • Joanna says:

        Omg that’s hilarious

    • Greywacke says:

This is comment is pure poetry.

  12. SamC says:

When was the last time Tucker Carlson got this much national media focus over consecutive days? He hates smart women and LOVES attention, he’s loving all this.

  13. Nikki says:

Having Dr. Biden as First Lady will be such a comedown after Melanie, the woman who wore a jacket proclaiming her indifference, ripped out an irreplaceable historic rose garden, and who couldn’t handle coordinating a Christmas display.

  14. Teebee says:

The war on intellectualism rages on. And now with a new administration coming in, and a POTUS with almost impeccable credentials, the rabid beasts of the opposition must shift their targets, which unfortunately are on his family. As if it is their duty to do to Biden what Trump has endured. Except Trump foisted his scheming money-hungry entitled family on Americans, they inserted themselves directly into the conversation. But as we have seen time and time again, Right wingers are the most hypocritical people on the planet. And I don’t know about you, but hypocrites are the most frustrating people on earth to reason with.

    This will NEVER end…

  15. GuestwithCat says:

He reminds me of the racist boys who used to tease and taunt me on the playground. Same smug bloated look on his face. I used to make those boys eat sand. There’s still the feisty little girl in me who wishes I could make Tucker Carlson eat sand. But she’s just a fleeting part of me. I’m an adult now and with the maturation process came growing past shoving bullies around and finding better ways to live and handle problematic people instead.

So it’s weird but not surprising to be 54 and see these boys wearing suits and working these adult jobs but see they are still the same stupid playground bullies. They employ the exact same pathetic tactics to denigrate that which they know they lack but instinctively crave. They lacked discernment, logic and reason then and they still do now, which is why they have not grown past their playground stage.

    • Truthiness says:

When I was 11, a 9 year old smug @$$hole stepped in front of me so that I couldn’t hopscotch another foot and taunted me over it. He was really up in my face, it was uncomfortable. I kneed him where it counts. Eventually he was able to get up…

  16. Ariel says:

How does he still have advertisers?
Is his wife uneducated, did he marry a 17 year old who couldn’t read?
He seems really, really insecure about women who are obviously smarter than him and don’t cater to his ego.

Does he have daughters? Are they allowed to go to school?

    • equality says:

There’s not much information on his wife but they did meet in high school and she is a stay-at-home mom. They have 3 daughters so I feel for the girls. People need to start a campaign to boycott his advertisers. Unfortunately, I currently don’t support any of his advertisers so can’t drop them. List of his advertisers: https://www.mediamatters.org/these-are-tucker-carlsons-leading-advertisers

    • Jaded says:

He has 3 daughters if you can believe it (and a son). I think he has severe abandonment issues as his artist mother left the family after divorcing his father and never saw him or his brother again – apparently she wanted to live a more “bohemian” lifestyle. I’m not in any way defending this turd of a human being, just postulating that the huge misogynistic chip on his shoulder may have had its genesis in his mother’s departure.

  17. Mina_Esq says:

I just realized that Tucker Carlson is a guy from California that went to a liberal arts college. Tucker Carlson is everything Tucker Carlson despises lol He is a self-hating little man.

  18. TruthNMiddle says:

…. say the ‘men’ with undergraduate degrees. Jealousy is so unbecoming, so take the sock out of your trousers and put it in your mouths. We will continue to birth our children, quietly, earning our educations while chipping away at your mountain of misogyny. Don’t choke on the dust as you privilege crumbles dearies.

  19. Becks1 says:

    These people….JFC.

He read her dissertation? how obsessed can you be?

Also, illiterate? Has he HEARD the trumps speak!?!?!? We literally don’t know if Trump can read.

  20. Leah says:

Whatever Tucker, keep crying because it’s going to be a very long four years for you.

  21. Pocket Litter says:

Does he get hard by denigrating educated women?

  22. Miranda says:

He’s a bitter little bitch, isn’t he? The rich, not-even-mediocre white Republican man, y’all.

  23. teehee says:

    Because

    BE BEST

    and

    BIGLY

is the epitome of intelligence and literacy.

    • ican'tanymore says:

Tremendous literacy. Some people say it’s the best literacy they’ve ever seen, and we’ve been working on it strongly. Big, beautiful literacy. (If I never heard “tremendous”, “big”, “strongly”, “beautiful”, “best” again…it would still be too soon…I HATE those words now. Scream in the shower hate them.)

      • teehee says:

The words were so beautiful he’s had people come up to him “Sir, those were-” -tears running down their faces– “sir, these were the bestly words I’ve ever heard, so many degrees, such doctors, we’ve never heard anything like it”

  24. Katie says:

I found a 25-page preview, it did not have typos and was boring like a regular dissertation. I dozed off at the history of the Delaware college but through my quick scan I did not notice anything wrong with it, are they offering screenshots to support their argument?

  25. Keroppi says:

In addition to feeling offended on behalf of Dr. Biden, I also feel outraged for those individuals who have learning disabilites and who have achieved graduate degrees. He is terrible all around.

  26. Veronica S. says:

LOL, Tucker Carlson really out here trying to convince people he can read anything more complicated than cue cards and a picture book. Jill has to be cracking up over this. They’re so threatened by her mere existence.

  27. Silent Star says:

These idiots are getting way too accustomed to just making up their own reality. I would merely roll my eyes at it, but it’s really dangerous. I hope you guys read recent tweets by Seth Abrams about how game theory is being weaponized for political gain.

  28. Traveler says:

Jealous much. Take a seat your inadequacies are showing.
We all knew it was just a matter of time before they began the berating of latest intelligent, accomplished, successful women to occupy the white house. It’s in the standard playbook of the lunatic fringe that now dominates the GOP.

  29. Celeste says:

So, Melania –who does not have a college education–can actually barely speak English and be the First Lady and that is not a problem to these pathetic excuses of human beings that plague Fox News…but Jill Biden is apparently not educated or smart enough as First Lady?

    Got it.

(To be clear, I have no issues with a First Lady being a foreigner or nor having a college education, but this just shows how hypocritical they are)

  30. Rapunzel says:

There is clearly a coordinated right wing plot to harass Dr. Jill Biden into dropping the Dr.

Not only has WSJ and Carlson gone for her, but major rwnj publication The National Review has an article titled “Jill Biden’s Doctorate Is Garbage Because Her Dissertation Is Garbage.”

They got push back for saying “she’s not a Dr ” and have moved on to “her Dr. Is unwarranted cause she ans her college aren’t good enough”

They won’t be satisfied till she drops the Dr.

    • Kalana says:

It’s like when they went after Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama when they were first ladies.

  31. TheOriginalMia says:

Someone is projecting small d!ck energy. Cry more, man baby. She’s Dr. Jill Biden to you and every other misogynist.

  32. LightPurple says:

Be best, Tucker; whatever the Hell that means.

  33. teehee says:

In general defense, a dissertation/thesis isn’t easy. Its boring and difficult to make it anything but trivial or mundane- that’s the nature of the task and the assignment.

So anyone who bashes a thesis– clearly hasn’t written one before *LOL*

I mean what is he expecting- a PDiddy music video??

An anyone who thinks a thesis of someone from even just 5 years ago— is somehow still relevant? Is themselves stuck in the past, cos clearly, they dont realize that people grow and learn with time. Especially in their jobs.

    • Juniper says:

The funny thing is that retention in community colleges *is* a big issue. The number of adults with unfinished credentials is staggering and results in untapped potential and lost revenue. They’re actively trying to come up with a solution where I work in partnership with the community colleges.

  34. Valerie says:

    Prove it, dumbass.

  35. shanaynay says:

    He’s such a d**chebag? What a loser!!!

Shame on FOX News for having such a moron on their show. They obviously have no standards. I will never again watch FOX News, and neither will any of my friends or family

  36. GRUEY says:

Thank you so much for using this photo. Fox budgets millions into his cheekbone and jawline lighting.

  37. Betsy says:

Ah, lovely, the GOP is shifting their gears from unfettered racism to unfettered sexism again.

  38. Nikki says:

All we need to know about Carlson is that his mother left him at 6 years old in order to pursue a “bohemian lifestyle” after his father was granted custody.

  39. Lizzythe2 says:

Part of me wants to attack this fool both verbally and physically. But then I calm down and realize this guy just feels inadequate. Anyone who trashes someone who took the time to accomplish something like this in this manner, has got to have major self esteem issues.

Like Trump they need to trash people to feel better about themselves.

  40. Sarah says:

Okay, now I want to see her dissertation for myself.

  41. Shazze says:

Why do so many ignorant, angry, rude white men have public platforms?
