Jeff Bridges and his wife wear matching PJs: Let the gratefulness overflow into blessing

I have been enjoying all of the Jeff Bridges updates that he has been posting on his Instagram and website. It just makes me love the man more. After announcing his lymphoma diagnosis, Jeff has seemingly been opening up a lot on social media in such a sweet way. I love that he is confirming what I have felt about him all along, he really is a great guy.

Jeff’s latest Instagram post is the sweetest update so far. Jeff posted a picture where he and his wife are in matching pajamas holding their new puppy Monty. The Bridges’ Christmas plaid pajama sets are adorable and I am here for a twinning moment. Jeff captioned the pic with a “Happy New Year” and a very profound statement about togetherness. Below are a few excerpts from his Instagram and website via People:

“May we dream together of the kind of world we’d like to live in & make these dreams come true through our actions,” Bridges wrote in the caption. “Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!”

The actor shared a more in-depth message on his website, writing, “Here’s to a wonder filled, peaceful, New Year.”

“Here’s a plan for the New Year… for always… Let the gratefullness overflow into blessing all around you,” he wrote, alongside a video called “Gratitude” by Louie Schwartzberg.

Bridges also included a cartoon of himself with the words, “Yeeha!! I’ve been born! I’m alive! Haha… with you guys!”

Like I said before I have loved Jeff since the Fabulous Baker Boys. He and his brother have always seemed like the kindest and most stand up guys. Even though Jeff’s diagnosis hit me pretty hard, I am glad he received an outpouring of love and support from his fans. I must admit I would totally wear the Bridges’ pajamas (does that make me old?). And that red beret Jeff is sporting is killing it. Jeff is giving me more French man vibes in this photo than the rugged southern boy (he is not) vibes that I always got from him. What also struck me about the photo is how big Monty has gotten in the last month. Monty no longer looks like a puppy.

There is definitely something heartwarming about a couple who have been together for over four decades still enjoying each other’s company. I am happy Jeff has his wife and Monty while he faces such an intense period in his mostly healthy life. I also enjoyed the short film video he posted about gratitude. The little girl at the beginning is so cute. I do hope Jeff continues to update us on his journey as long as it is convenient for him. And I truly wish him the best and a speedy recovery. In the meantime I will go rewatch a few of my favorite Jeff Bridges movies, I just love his voice.

Fabulous Baker Boys is such an awesome movie. I encourage anyone who hasn’t seen it to watch it.

    Also: Starman.

    • Yup, Me says:

Starman! That was my first Jeff Bridges film as a kid. I’ve been looking for aliens ever since! 👽

      • smcollins says:

Yes to Starman! I loved that movie as a kid, and still do. JB is such a gifted actor, he can play pretty much anything and be completely believable. He fully embodies the characters he plays, from an alien to a psychopath to a megalomaniac to the world’s most famous stoner and everything in-between. He’s an American treasure, and I wish him a full recovery and good health in this new year.

Another thumbs up for Starman and Last Picture Show.

Plus for fun – Tron and a not good King Kong with Jessica Lange.

2021, don’t you dare even to think about doing this man dirty. Just take it off your to-do-list NOW. Otherwise I will find you and kill you first.

  3. FHMom says:

This is so sweet. If Jeff and Beau are good, stand up guys, it’s because they were raised by two good, stand up parents. My mom and aunts are an encyclopedia of old gossip, but they have nothing but good things to say about Lloyd Bridges.

I’m with you all the way, Oya. There are very, very few celebrities I actually like, but the Bridges brothers are two I do like. They’ve always seemed truly nice, decent men, in a sea of narcissistic, self-important arseholes and abusers. I wish the very best for Jeff in his fight; I went through it 6 years ago with my 24-year-old daughter. She had 2 stem cell transplant/transfers in November, as she had been on the bone marrow register for all these years. On Thursday, she’s in hospital to have a spinal tap, to see if the stem cells are doing what they’re supposed to be doing: growing new bone marrow to give her a new, healthier immune system. It’s been a long arduous journey for her, but she never complains, and still is the kindest, most generous, funny and loving person. Fingers crossed we hear some good news on Jeff very soon.

I decided to *finally* try social media. I know, I know. I joined Twitter. Mr Brett from Bad aReligion had posted: “Be grateful for what you have, or you won’t be grateful for what you get.” I posted: “ I am grateful every day for my lovely family and wonderful friends – I love you all so much. I’m grateful that our dad brought us to Australia to live, even though he died 3 years later. I’m grateful for my health and that all our doggies love me.” It was great for a week or so. Then for some reason, my account was suspended. Just like that. No explanation. I can’t get back in, and maybe I don’t want to…
Funny, I bought my daughter some red PJs like that for Christmas! We are big fans of tartan and the colour red. My bestie says she should be able to borrow the PJs, since they are of the Stewart tartan, and that was her maiden name. It’s Summer here, so flannie PJs have to wait until Winter. I wish I’d got myself some.
A safe, healthy and peaceful New Year to you all.

Best of luck to your daughter. It is especially heartbreaking when young people have serious illnesses and need to go through such medical procedures. Bless her precious heart that she never complains – brings tears to my eyes.

    • Chanteloup says:

Sending much love to you and your daughter.
Also, less importantly, if you go to the page to inquire about why your account was suspended, I’m sure stupid twitter will re-instate it. My account got suspended for no reason – I joined back when our Traitor in Chief was put into office and started ending access to information and people started posting it valiantly on twitter anyway and I wanted to support them – I don’t post much, but it irked me that somebody else should decide I couldn’t! There are millions of accounts that are posting hate speech [not love like you did!] and still freely posting; it’s ridiculous. So I filled out the inquiry, and eventually, my account was unfrozen.
Twitter can be extremely stupid, but also lovely – We need accounts like yours to balance it back into loveliness <3 xo

It is so hard to see your kids suffer and flat-out devastating when the situation is potentially life-threatening. All good things to you and your daughter, Annakist ❤️

  5. CTAYLOR says:

If you love his voice – listen to his sleep tapes (on youtube or at dreamingwithjeff.com). It’s a little wacky but it really does put me to sleep most nights – if it doesn’t I just enjoy listening to him talk!

    • Chanteloup says:

@ CTAYLOR I can’t thank you enough for that rec! I got a free month on audible and have been adoring listening to books to fall asleep by – [I’m not dissing the books! I rewind them when I wake up in the morning so I don’t miss anything] – I just love falling asleep to someone’s lovely voice and I live alone now.
I think it comes from childhood – my dad worked all day and in the evening he’d spend time with us; then when we were in bed, he’d pull out his briefcase of papers to catch up on and I’d fall asleep listening to his warm voice talking into the dictaphone [that’s how old I am! lol] recording letters for his assistant to type the next day. I felt so cozy and safe and loved in those moments – and go back to them to escape today’s ptsd dreams.
I can’t afford to renew the audible subscription, so I’m going to try this tonight [insert grateful heart emoji here!]

      • CTAYLOR says:

YOUTUBE has other great guided meditations – I also like Michael Sealey – as well as some actors reading stories … I agree – listening to a soothing voice is very relaxing and reminds me of childhood <3

      • Chanteloup says:

        Thank you again <3

  6. SM says:

He looks so much like Bryan Cranston in that pic with a puppy. I wish him great health, he makes the world better and more chill just by being in it.

  7. Barbiem says:

They look absolutely adorable. Love Pj picks

  8. Tiffany says:

I recommend his American Masters episode on PBS. They interviewed everyone and Jeff was also very forthcoming during it as well. It is very good.

  9. Sam the Pink says:

Jeff is a good egg. If you can, watch a Seat at the Table, which he narrates and is interviewed in, about food insecurity in America. He is a wealthy man who doesn’t have a care so much about struggling Americans, but he does. He seems to have a good heart and I wish him a speedy recovery.

    • Chanteloup says:

Awesome – I looked up his sleep tapes recommended in a comment above, and he gives you the content for free, while suggesting you make a donation to No Kid Hungry to help end child hunger – LOVE that

  10. Love the man. He has his head screwed on right and truly seems a good and true spirit. Love the actor: Loved him in Crazy Heart, although he was so good it was hard to like his character. Loved him in The Fabulous Baker Boys, 💫Starman —- “You human’s are at your very best, when things are at their very worst.”, and on and on and on. One of my very favorites is his role as the President in The Contender. A movie that holds up still today and is an incredible performance by Joan Allen.

I love these comments. I also just love the Bridges family. I’m sorry to objectify the lovely Jeff, but he was SMOKING in Jagged Edge and Against All Odds. Handsome and decent!!

Great actor, gorgeous man, wonderful human being. Wishing him the very best in 2021!
