Ghislaine Maxwell indicted on additional charges of sex trafficking minors

Ghislaine, Amanda and Brooke talk at Womens confernece

Something which lives rent-free in my head: shortly after Ghislaine Maxwell was arrested in New Hampshire last July, she was moved to a detention center in Brooklyn, and one of the first people to visit her was… Donald Trump’s Attorney General William Barr. We never got an answer as to why Barr went to see her, and people barely mentioned it ever again. Trump did make a point of wishing Maxwell “well” and arguing that the prosecutors would have to “prove” their case. Honestly, a lot of us were worried that Trump would pardon Maxwell. He didn’t. And now Maxwell is facing new federal indictments in connection to her grooming and abusing a minor.

Ghislaine Maxwell, the longtime associate of Jeffrey Epstein, was charged on Monday for the first time with sex trafficking of a minor, as federal prosecutors accused her of grooming a 14-year-old girl to engage in sexual acts with Mr. Epstein and later paying her. A new federal indictment filed in Manhattan charged that on multiple occasions between 2001 and 2004, the girl provided nude massages to Mr. Epstein at his Palm Beach, Fla., estate, during which he engaged in sex acts with her.

The new charges against Ms. Maxwell go further than those contained in an earlier indictment that accused her of helping Mr. Epstein recruit, groom and ultimately sexually abuse girls, but did not include sex trafficking allegations. The new indictment says that after the girl provided Mr. Epstein with the massages, Ms. Maxwell or others who worked for him paid the girl hundreds of dollars in cash. A lawyer for Ms. Maxwell did not respond to a request for comment on the new charges.

The indictment comes almost nine months after Ms. Maxwell, 59, once a fixture on New York’s social scene, was arrested in New Hampshire on charges she had lured underage girls — one as young as 14 — into Mr. Epstein’s orbit, and contributed to his abuse of them. The indictment issued on Monday cites an additional 14-year-old girl who is identified only as Minor Victim-4.

The new indictment also says Mr. Epstein and Ms. Maxwell each encouraged the girl to recruit other young women to provide sexualized massages to Mr. Epstein. In response, the indictment says, the girl brought multiple women and girls to provide erotic massages for Mr. Epstein, and both she and the people she recruited were paid hundreds of dollars in cash.

Prosecutors, in expanding their case against Ms. Maxwell, not only added two new counts — sex trafficking of a minor and sex trafficking conspiracy — but they also broadened the time period of the allegations they have made.

[From The NY Times]

There are more details about the expansion of the time period which prosecutors are now investigating. Basically, it seems like they’re not concerned about statutes of limitations whatsoever, and I’m not going to try to look up federal and state statutes either – I suppose one of the arguments prosecutors could make is that the crimes are ongoing because Ghislaine was hiding out, or… I don’t know, honestly. They’ll figure it out. It’s also interesting because of the Duke of York, the rapist abuser who still has his ducal title, his HRH title, his huge mansion (Royal Lodge), his military patronages and his royal protection. Andrew has always maintained that he mostly only knew Epstein THROUGH his friendship with Ghislaine. Andrew’s whole defense is built around “I was just good friends with Ghislaine, I barely knew Epstein.” Ghislaine was the one in charge of Epstein’s human trafficking operation, and she abused women and children too. Tick-tock, Andy.

I guess the House Petty folks were hoping that their latest PR antics would distract from this.

  2. Darla says:

That picture of her standing behind andrew has always so creeped me out. It says it all, doesn’t it?

    • yeperz says:

Yes, this haunts. A wealthy dilettante discovered her Rich AF BF was pedophilic. Cuz she didn’t want to let go of the “lifestyle” she procured & participated in child sex trafficking.

Then donny defended her- ’twas enough to make us lock our children up in 2020. Thankfully kids WERE on CoVID lockdown- a silver lining? Some of us parents were going out of our minds!

What a world! an actual “president” defending the El Chapos of child abuse.

      • MM2 says:

It’s worse…she participated in the sexual abuse of girls. I agree that lots of women are their sicko partner’s flying monkey (Cosby), but Maxwell actually engaged in some of the abuse. They may not have enough proof of this for a conviction, but I believe the victims & housekeepers who claim this to be true. Maxwell is a pedophile herself.

  3. Cecilia says:

    Andrew, honey you’re next!

  4. Becks1 says:

    Tick tock Andy is right.

As for why she wasnt pardoned – I honestly think she knows a lot about a lot of “stuff” that implicates high profile people, including Donald Trump. If she is pardoned, then she could testify against someone like Trump without worrying about being prosecuted.

I also think that “stuff” that she knows is her “trump card,” so to speak – or at least she hopes it is – and she is going to use it as leverage for a plea deal (in her mind at any rate.)

  5. Merricat says:

I hope they get everyone involved, including Andrew. Kind of especially Andrew, but all of them.

    • My3cents says:

I want her to name ALL THE NAMES. Let this be the shitstorm of armageddon for anyone involved.

  6. ABritGuest says:

Remember this is the woman that Trump wished well at that press conference. Sick people.

There’s gonna be a documentary about her to be broadcast in the U.K. later this year. So far U.K. media coverage of her has been disgustingly sympathetic I guess as she was friends with the likes of the Mail editor& other media types. Hope that’s not the case with this doc & it has people like Andrew sweating.

The real royal scandal. Thanks to Oprah the Duke of Yuck will get more mentions in the US press when the trial is in full swing. The Windsors better pray the FBI doesn’t want to talk to the Sussexes.

    • Yoyo says:

Why would they need to speak to the Sussexes?
Maybe Harry, Meghan met pedo after meeting Harry.
Pedo is safe once he is in England, they can’t force him to answer questions.
America is in no position to demand anything, after an American woman killed a teenager?? in England and fled back to America, claiming diplomatic immunity.

      • Myra says:

It’s not as if UK hasn’t refused extradition requests before. Still I wouldn’t compare vehicular manslaughter with child-trafficking and raping of a minor. Although I agree, there is no need to involve the Sussexes in whatever f*ckery Andrew was involved with when he hung out with his paedophile friend.
*I’ll edit to add that if the lady was drunk then that’s another matter. Drunk drivers need to face harsh sentences.

  8. Myra says:

This child-trafficker sat on the throne at Buckingham Palace next to another sex offender, but people were up in arms because Meghan sat with her legs crossed or she didn’t wear a hat or stockings or something.

    • JT says:

Right. But H&M need to uphold the values of the queen. It seems like that are the only ones doing so.

      • Gail Hirst says:

to the contrary JT…it seems H&M are the only ones NOT upholding the values of the queen, to their credit.
They are not upholding the values of the queen because the queen seems to value her second son hanging around on her teat more than the life of her grand-daughter-in-law who told her she was struggling, needed help and instead was allowed to be further derided and lied about in the queen’s press.

    • My3cents says:

Where is an independent investigation into this by the palace? Too busy setting Meghan up I suppose.

  9. Yoyo says:

Ghislaine have all the videos of the rich powerful men, in the act.
Bill Clinton was on the Jet but I didn’t hear anyone accusing him of sexual acts, now Allan Dershowitz, that is a different story.
The owner of Victoria Secret, ‘ I think’ went bankrupt paying off the blackmail fees to a deceased pimp.

    • Sankay says:

Dershowitz is a big problem. I think he’s heavily working behind the scenes to keep the info on lockdown.

      • Chica says:

He got Harvard to not renew a contract for a professor who brought his behavior publicly.

  10. Tiffany says:

Now if they get something on Rapist Andy by the end of the week, this Easter can truly shape up.

  11. Lucy2 says:

Good, I hope she never again sees the outside of jail, and also spills all the dirt too.
Barr thought the AG job was to protect Dump. He went to see her to threaten her, I’m sure, or promised her freedom in exchange for something.

  12. Julia K says:

The prosecution case against her is weaker than most believe so they are throwing charges at the wall and hoping something sticks. Imo, she will eventually plea bargain or walk. So will Andy. They know too much

  13. Liz version 700 says:

I hope she sees nothing but bars forever. I hope she hates it and is bigly mad forever

  14. Ponchorella says:

Just in case anyone on here didn’t know, Barr’s daddy (who wrote sci-fi books with pedophiliac undertones) was the one who basically made Epstein. It’s a very interesting connection.

I always thought that Barr was possibly a client and not only took the job as AG to protect Trump, but his own fat ass as well. I wonder if anything was recovered from Epstein’s NY residence or from that Island.

  15. notasugarhere says:

@Kaiser, with Royal Lodge he gets to keep that lease regardless. Doesn’t matter if he were to lose his HRH, his York title, his royal role. He legally has the lease on that Crown Estate property for decades.

If he doesn’t get enough inheritance from mummy, and is removed from Sovereign Grant funding, then something might change. Without ongoing funds, he cannot afford the upkeep and staff at Royal Lodge. He could end up selling the sublease for millions and moving to a non-extradition country. Join shady ex-king Juan-Carlos in the UAE for example.

  16. Ariel says:

I think everyone in the government involved in letting Epstein go in 2011 or whenever his “plea” deal happened, should lose their jobs, and possibly be charged in a criminal conspiracy.
This could have been stopped sooner.
Girls could have been spared these crimes against them.

  17. gm says:

To those with knowledge of law, crime,

Question: Before she was charged why didn’t she leave to somewhere she couldn’t be extradited from? I read an article long ago, can’t recall where that this included France, as she is wealthy?
Question: Is she going to stay alive? Because of what happened to her partner in crime?
Question: Is it likely Andrew will ever get in real trouble? I know many more powerful, wealthy people than he are involved but the posts above piqued my curiosity.

  18. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

Qanon is right. Partially right. There’s a big conspiracy keeping corporate and high profile pedophiles in the dark, only it has nothing to do with party affiliations but everything to do with big money and human trafficking. It’s past time for darkness. Money shouldn’t continue to be the all-encompassing factor in all things. And I realize wishing that would disappear is foolishly idealistic, even in spite of online dissention, protests and boycotts (what we used to call it before cancel culture decided to be a thing). Every time I hear cancel culture it gives me tics lol.
