Why did People Magazine do an exclusive about Brad Pitt’s Miraval winery?

Bullet Train is coming out on August 5th. The release date has been pushed back a few times, and while the film is likely being positioned as counter-programming to the glut of superhero films, usually August release dates are pretty inauspicious. Anyway, that’s why we’re hearing so much about Brad these days. That’s why he looked like Liberace’s corpse on the cover of GQ. He’s promoting Bullet Train. But he’s also rebranding himself too. He went from movie star and producer to wannabe architect to wannabe artist to…. A Dude Who Owns a Winery.

Nevermind the fact that Brad Pitt only owns half a winery and half a chateau after Angelina sold off her half of the home and business to Tenute del Mondo, and Pitt’s new business partners are suing him, and search warrants have been executed on Chateau Miraval. None of that is mentioned in this bizarrely sycophantic People Magazine article, “A Look Inside the Winery Where Brad Pitt’s Champagne Is Made: ‘Welcome to Our Speakeasy!’” Brad and his team gave People Magazine an exclusive tour of the winery ahead of some new release of something or other from the Miraval label. There are no quotes from Brad, but some of his business partners spoke to People. Again, though, there’s a whole story just waiting to be told about how Tenute del Monde is suing Brad over how poorly he’s running this business and how much money he’s wasting.

People Magazine does make some references to the fact that Brad is trying to drag Angelina to court over her sale of her half of the Miraval property and business, but People is being somewhat careful not to take a side. They want to keep the door open to Jolie and still get quotes from her side of this mess. Still, this People Magazine exclusive was a really bad call.

This is just free marketing to sell Miraval.

Why are these interviewers not asking how his ownership of a winery affect his alcoholism? How does he navigate that?

    He’s gross.

I saw this article and rolled my eyes so hard! He speaks of sobriety, and I don’t buy it for one second.

A huge part of sobriety is making amends for mistakes you made, and to the people you deeply hurt in your addiction. It’s part of the 12 steps of AA. So, I just don’t buy this from Brad Pitt, as he constantly still bashes his ex in public and still tries to sue her in court. His kids want nothing to do with him. Something just doesn’t add up here. He doesn’t even mention them in this article; as if he isn’t even a father?? Sobriety brings forgiveness, humility and grace. I see none of that in Pitt’s personal behavior towards Angelina Jolie – given his continued lawsuits/smears against her in public. I am all for celebrities opening up about their mental health struggles/addictions to bring awareness. I know all about AA, and about getting sober (15 years sober this year), AND this doesn’t seem authentic to me in the least bit. You don’t behave the way Brad Pitt does, if you are truly sober. AND why in hell would you own a winery if you are an alcoholic LOL?!

I was just going to write about this – I find it really puzzling that his sobriety is never mentioned in the articles that promote his winery. I think it wouldn’t be as problematic if he was more of a silent owner of the winery but he constantly promotes it (not to mention the on going nonsense with AJ) and how can he attest to its quality if he is not drinking it? Obvi he is just looking for the cash grab but it just speaks again to his character…action speaks louder than words with this guy

Dry isn’t the same as sober. He probably has stretches of white-knuckle abstinence interspersed with binges.

    Sarcasm?

    • AC says:

@wiglet watcher, no sarcasm, that person is one of his fans and believes that. They are trying to target Jolie like Amber Heard.

    Rozellev, I don’t think I follow?

Did they talk about how he got scammed by a French con artist in this article, too? Because that was a story in the GQ interview that I’m a little surprised didn’t get more traction. Some dude said there was buried treasure on the chateau grounds and Pitt believed him and bought all his radar equipment to find it. Lolz for days. What a savvy business man.

    • JustMe says:

And no doubt wrote it all off against the business hence the new owners doing a deep audit on the books…but yes please continue to tell how Angie’s the devil 😞

    • N says:

That tells that he is a very greedy man, but is also tight with money. Years ago, when celebitchy.com was just started, there was an article of Brangelina with AJ’s source saying that Pitt was very stingy. People can search for the archive.

He needs to lay off the botox and fillers. My god.

I think the reason he looks so weird on that cover photo is they have him lying on his back. That way, gravity does for him what a face-lift will do for anybody.
