Prince Andrew is considering offers for another disastrous TV interview

Prince Andrew’s life has been in freefall (by his standards) for four years. Everything hit the proverbial fan in 2019, when Jeffrey Epstein was arrested, again, for sex trafficking. Epstein’s arrest brought up a lot of terrible history for Andrew, and after Epstein’s mysterious in-custody death that summer, Andrew decided to set the record straight in a BBC interview. The Newsnight interview aired in November 2019. It was an unmitigated disaster. What followed was years of back-and-forth about Andrew “stepping away” from public life and public duties, only to keep coming back even though no one wanted him. His mother tried to protect him and help him repeatedly, only to eventually give him millions of dollars to settle out of court with one of his rape victims. The Newsnight interview was “the start” of all of that. One would think Andrew would be desperate to avoid a repeat. But nope – apparently, he’s considering another sit-down interview.

Prince Andrew is considering giving a new tell-all interview as he seeks to find a way back into the royal fold. The disgraced Duke of York has told friends he believes he has a chance of redemption after being embroiled in a sex abuse scandal, which he vehemently denies. Sources say Andrew has warmed to the idea of “telling his side” of events over the last two years, since his disastrous appearance on BBC Newsnight in which he said he had an inability to sweat.

A source close to the Duke said: “Nothing is off the table. Andrew has been made to give up his job and now potentially his home. He feels there is little else to lose when he has already paid an awfully high price.”

Sources say the Duke favours a US broadcaster after taking note of Prince Harry’s exposure during a recent promotional tour for his explosive memoir, Spare.

Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, who he still lives with in his 30 room Windsor mansion Royal Lodge despite the King ordering them to leave, has been slowly lifting the lid on the Duke’s plight. Fergie, who last week described the Duke as “poor Prince Andrew”, has also met with US journalist Daphne Barak.

We can reveal the Duke has been approached by at least two major US broadcasters with offers of an interview taking place in the UK. Andrew has not been to the US since the FBI announced they wanted to speak to him as a witness as part of the investigation into the associates of the late paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.

The King and other senior royals such as the Prince of Wales are likely to be infuriated at the thought of Andrew returning to the spotlight. The monarch believes his brother should “fade into the background”, according to royal sources.

Andrew has been offered Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s five bedroom Frogmore Cottage after the eviction of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Andrew is also furious that the King may ban him from wearing ceremonial robes to his May 6 coronation. A royal source said: “To say relations between the two brothers is a little fraught at present would be a huge understatement.”

[From The Daily Mirror]

While I have no doubt that Prince Andrew is stupid, vile, pompous and egotistical enough to believe that he could explain away his problems in another interview, I think it’s far more likely that this story has an audience of one. This is Andrew’s message to King Charles: back off, give me what I want or I will embarrass the hell out of you and the entire family. Before the Frogmore Cottage and Royal Lodge eviction stories came out, it was widely believed that Charles was taking pains to “take care” of Andrew simply so Andrew wouldn’t do anything like this, like sitting down for a TV interview and expressing more sympathy for a pedophile than for rape victims. Charles’s attempt to evict Andrew from Royal Lodge has changed the math – if Andrew can be evicted willy-nilly, then what’s stopping him (or any other family member) from doing paid interviews and spilling royal tea? In any case, I kind of hope Andrew gets caught in some kind of FBI dragnet scheme – “we’ll pay you $3 million for an exclusive interview, just fly into New York” and then the FBI is waiting at the airport.

He needs to do interviews, write a book, the whole deal. Show everybody what they get with a hereditary monarchy.

    • Shawna says:

      100% agree

    • Slush says:

      Yep yep yep.

    • Mabs A'Mabbin says:

Yeah, I want every buffoon to have the mic.

    • Lilacmaven says:

      Exactly.

      Do it, Andy!

He would unintentionally be doing a greater service for his nation than any member of his family has managed to do in living memory.

Charles is so petty, he needs to humiliate family members that didn’t vow and scrape to him. Does he not realize there is no end to his scandals? There is a reason the trial of Paul Burrell ended right before he was to take the stand. There is simply so MUCH to tell.

I can’t wait for “Spare Part II: Tales I heard growing up.” and “Spare III: Other Spares and what I heard about them.” Andrew’s “I am not a pedo, I just admire young women.” and Edward’s “My Life as a Prince.”

      • Alice says:

I’ve always been fascinated with Elizabeth’s last minute antics and the fact no one really comments about how fucking odd it was.

    • Christine says:

I’m here for it. Disclaimer: I won’t spend even one cent, so he needs to do something on one of the networks.

I think he’s also aiming for Willnot, see Fergie’s elation that Harry found true love. Only two people in that family have money, and they are also the ones with the most to lose.

  2. Brassy Rebel says:

Unfortunately, even if he were stupid enough to come to the US (yes, he is that stupid), the FBI couldn’t force him to give them an interview. Even British prince-pedophiles can invoke the Fifth Amendment.

    • Cessily says:

I agree but we don’t know exactly what the FBI has on him, maybe they would just arrest him🤷🏻‍♀️.. I hope he does do the interview because Chucky got the royals he deserves and the more people that see just how vile and arrogant these people are the closer they become to being abolished.

      • Brassy Rebel says:

As far as I know, there are no pending Federal criminal charges against Andrew that could result in his arrest.

  3. Whyforthelove says:

Oh yes please! Let this barely functional stupid man tangle with the real press rather than the ROTA. The epic levels of disaster this would cause…insane. As far as blackmail goes, well this is excellent. Charles is really having quite a week and I ❤️❤️ it for him.

    • BothSidesNow says:

The man deserves every bit of the awful week he has had and then some.

Yes Andrew. We would love to hear YOUR side of the story. Please tell us in detail what has happened to you and how you have been impacted by the machinations of your brother, The King.

      Do tell!!!

  4. BW says:

    Ah, don’t sweat it!

  5. Barbara says:

It’s hilarious (and gross) that he actually thinks he’ll be viewed more favorably to an American audience just because Harry was.

  6. ThatsNotOkay says:

I’m all for Andrew doing another interview. Keep ‘em comin’, Noncy Drew.

    • Mary Pester says:

@THATSNOTOK *NONCY DREW 😂love it. If he does another interview I wonder how much prep he will be given and if he will only answer scripted questions. See Andrew is thick and vain. He thinks that everyone will just accept what he says and not question it. Well if he does do the interview here are a few questions I would LOVE to see put to him. Question one, why did you say you had a medical condition that meant you couldn’t sweat, then say you couldn’t present any medical evidence to back you up, by the way would you like to borrow a tissue for your brow?
Question Two, why did you say you had never met Guffre when there are pictures of you together, and by the way, why are your friends so thick, that they publish a picture of two adults sat comfortably in a bath wearing your face and Virginia’s when in fact she never said she had had sex with you in a bath,, by the way did she?
Question THREE, why would you not let your personal protection detail produce their diaries from the date in question, we all know they HAVE to fill them in every time they take you anywhere, or, what else was in said diaries that you wanted kept hidden.
Question Four, why were you never taught how to use a phone, oh you were? Then why didn’t you just phone Epstein to say you couldn’t associate with him anymore? That way you could have saved the price of a flight? And why, when you went there to end your friendship did you stay there for a week.
Question Five, who is Victoria hervy?
Question six, how much has Charles offered you to keep quiet
Question Seven, sorry Andrew, there is no question 7, I can’t stand those teddy bears staring at me all the time and to be honest, if I wanted to listen to this much bullsht I would have stayed home in the US and watched Fox news!!

    • BothSidesNow says:

      Nonce Drew!!! Brava!!!!

  7. SarahCS says:

While I completely agree that this feels 100% like blackmail I would love it to be true. Please gift us this to mark The Clowning Andrew.

  8. Whyforthelove says:

The interview should absolutely air during the Con-a-nation

  9. Jais says:

Curious to see if Andrew ever moves into frogmore. I could see Charles caving on that except for the fact that Peggy wants RL. Wonder if Andrew will turn his darts towards William eventually.

    • MoBiMom says:

Anyone else notice the outpouring of stories about the dilapidated state of Royal Lodge all of a sudden? It’s in terrible shape and will require oodles of cash to fix up. Doesn’t look to me like BP has given up on getting Andrew out of there quite yet, since they’re still working so hard on building the case that he can’t afford it.

      • Jais says:

Yeah, that and they’ll want to justify the high cost of renovations that William will just absolutely have to make. How much will be truly necessary versus cosmetic?

      • Harper says:

The idea that Royal Lodge is falling apart is pure propaganda. You can see photos of the interior on either Eugenie’s or Fergie’s Instagram and it’s all damask and tassles and swag curtains and nothing like SoHo Farmhouse which is Meghan’s style that Kate wants to copy. There needs to be some excuse for Kate to move around the walls to make an open concept kitchen and replace all the floors with reclaimed wood and rip out whatever 20-year stove is in there for most current and most expensive Aga around.

      • Blithe says:

They might also be trying to show that Andrew didn’t keep up his side of the contractual agreement. I think the lease requires Andrew to maintain the property. If Andrew refuses to leave, and there’s somewhat objective proof that the property hasn’t been adequately maintained, then it’s not just that Andrew can’t afford it going forward, it’s that he made the decisions to void the terms of his lease throughout the past as well.

  10. Woke says:

We can say whatever we want about QE2 parenting but she had a level of emotional intelligence and foresight to prevent these kind of things. Margaret never went against her because she was provided the lavish lifestyle she couldn’t let go of to be with her first love. Harry never went against her because she maintained with him a certain level of closeness. She took care of her cousins.
But Charles and William they simply expect people to be grateful for their existence no matter how they get treated.

    • Snuffles says:

I don’t know if it was the Queen’s idea or not, but she kept everyone in line by financially supporting them, making them working royals, giving them “grace and favor” homes.

She kept that gravy train going for 70 years. And Charles is an idiot if he thinks he can yank that all away in the name of a slimmed down monarchy and not expect repercussions.

He’s in danger of alienating most of his family and they will retaliate and offer themselves up to the highest bidder.

      • Harla A Brazen Hussy says:

Exactly Snuffles! Especially when most involved are at retirement age, haven’t “worked a day in their life and are used to a certain “lifestyle’. How exactly are his siblings supposed to support their homes, wardrobes, children, etc without a large influx of cash each year? These people don’t exactly have marketable skills so in reality selling royal tea will always be their best source of income. I just don’t know if Charles is wise enough to see this.

      • Anance says:

The issue may be a combination of Charles’ pettiness/vindictiveness and his lavish lifestyle – traveling with his own bedroom. He wants the funds for himself. Kate and Will may be either imitating him or simply trying to get something for themselves before he takes everything.

I remember when W & K were going to live in Windsor Castle, now Charles is going there.

  11. Jan says:

Why is no one talking about the Queen anymore? For such a beloved figure, she was forgotten faster then a cold.
Most great figures left speeches behind that are remembered, Churchill, JFK, MlK to name a few, Betty’s most famous speech was when she said some year was horrible, due to 3 children getting divorced and Windsor Castle’s fire.

    • Kingston says:

      @Jan
“Why is no one talking about [betty] anymore?”

I just saw a quote tweet where the latest story coming out of BP to try to clean up chucky’s mess regarding Frogmore, is that chucky is merely carrying out betty’s instruction.

That evicting H&M from Frogmore and giving it to PeDrew, thereby freeing up Royal Lodge for the new Wails, was betty’s instructions.

I kid u not. That’s where they are now.

      • Jais says:

It was always going to go there😂. This was what the queen really wanted…. This was what the queen truly thought….

    • Cairidh says:

Her most famous speech was when she was young on her 21st birthday

“I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.“

She didn’t write it, but she welled up with tears when she first read it, and it made a big impact when she gave it.

  12. AuntRara says:

Yes, this leak was absolutely done to threaten Chuck.

It makes me think of Maleficent. Imagine him swanning into the Chubbly (where he knows he’s not wanted) swishing his robes for dramatic effect and burning it all down. It’ll never happen of course, but the mental picture is pretty great.

    • SomeChick says:

I bet he parades around in them. Like Mr Plow.

Fergie must have the patience of a saint.

  13. AnnaKist says:

I need to see an optometrist. Second paragraph of the excerpt, my eyes were running ahead. I thought it said “Duke of Nothimg”… 😂

I can see him being hard up and arrogant enough to try another interview, if the price is right. This time, I think the questions will be prepared beforehand, and be stringently adhered to, with his responses well rehearsed. He will not want a repeat of the last interview debacle.

Charles is really taking the “new broom” idea to heart, seemingly alienating everyone. His new and streamlined rreign will consist only of the fab four – Chuck, Cam, Bill and Cathy. Cathy will be allowed to see her parents and siblings as much as she wants, so she doesn’t get so pissed off with Bill that she flies the coop. Chuck does not want another mess like that on his hands.

I wonder if they will ever admit to understanding why Harry had to get his wife and children out of there. I doubt it.

    • AnnaKist says:

As for the Wessexes, he will call on them when Bill and Cathy can’t be arsed to appear somewhere. Chuck will make it look as if he is doing them a huge favour by sending them off to work in place of the Cazy Lunts. The Duke of Edinburgh title was the sweetener. Families, eh? Not really that impressive. He simply copied Don Corleone.

    • booboocita says:

“Fab Four?” More like the Drab Four …

  14. Elizabeth Kerri Mahon says:

Oh, I hope he does an interview, and I hope he ignores all attempts to help. Unless the interview is with Fox News, I doubt any American journalist will soft-peddle the questions.

  15. Sugarhere says:

Repeating a lie over and over again won’t make it a truth. Not only is the touchy-feely fart committed to spit out his imaginary virtues on TV – when indisputable evidence points to the fact that he had been abusing trafficked minors as well as enjoying his position as Ghislaine M’s occasional lover – he has reached that point of psychological no-return, characterized by delusional self-persuasion in his innocence. King Charlie has a historical opportunity to assert his authority by forbidding his lame brother from releasing anything damning, but he is more amused by abusing Harry and Meghan.

You did it, Andrew! At least give it a decent rest by shutting your fable-generating gaping mouth and enabling the world to forget that you are guilty as charged. I guess the minute a date is set for the tragi-comical disaster, Eugenie will be packing for good to protect her kids from the disgrace.

  16. Tessa says:

Incandescent bill may not get the royal lodge.

  17. Roo says:

I have never understood why Charles is so afraid of Will. Why didn’t he ever call Will’s bluff and tell him, “okay, you don’t want to be king, then go get a real job and earn money for your self. There are plenty of people waiting in the wings to take that role.” Will would never leave his cushy, do nothing lifestyle.

    • BW says:

Will “played” at being an ambulance helicopter pilot as a job early on, and I’d read that the other pilots didn’t feel he pulled his weight. He’d be traumatized for days after looking at the victim. There’s no reason he couldn’t do that job, and show up to cut a ribbon or attend a party on his days off.

    • Jojo says:

I think he’s wary of Will @ROO because of his physically & verbally violent temper tantrums. Will clearly learned from a young age that his dad would back down if challenged in an aggressive way. Got to remember that Charles experienced an aggressive, bullying father who made him cry in public and extensive physical bullying at school. He also seems to have inherited his mother’s tendency to do absolutely anything at all in order to avoid overly emotional scenes with a preference for ignoring/burying head in sand/placating anyone who tries to speak some truths to him or bring things to a head. He can’t get rid of Willy, he’s the heir to the throne, so he just placates him & hides away from his physically presence as much as possible.

As for Andrew 🤣. He’s hopefully going to eventually talk himself right into a jail sentence. But, as others have said, this appears to be a clear warning to his brother to back the hell off, or else. It’s a bluff, no one is going to let him get near an tv interview situation ever again.

    • Mary says:

I get what you were saying @roo and I don’t understand it either. They have the potential line of succession figured out to, what, thousands of people?

You’re not that special in your workplace if you have the same qualifications as thousands of people in line behind you and, guaranteed, most of them could do the job better than you.

Yet, someone or some persons did a great job in making William believe he’s the most important person in the world; and, Charles, for whatever reasons, could never stand up to him.

    • Christine says:

The simple answer is Chuck and Willnot always knew they were in line to inherit everything. What is Chuck going to threaten Willnot with: “Ummm, you know the only reason why your duchy is profitable is because of me, right?”

Wills gets the duchy Chuck made profitable, and Chuck got all of the things QEII scammed from the commonwealth.

  18. MSTJ says:

He should have had a memoir ready to shop around before the coronation and several drip drip interviews to go along with it. That would have been intriguing.

I think if he does a few interviews about an upcoming book and drop a few titillating stories about Charles or Camilla or the state of Queen’s health in her last three years of life, prior to the coronation, Charles might yield to Andrew’s requests to prevent any such interview that pulls back the curtains on his (Charles’) shenanigans. I would like someone to validate the Queen was manipulated, coerced, controlled in her last two years of life. That would reverberate around the world.

Anyways, let’s see how this saga between the brothers unfolds.

  19. Grandma Susan says:

I have always believed that Andrew was the Queen’s favorite because he was not sired by Phillip, but was the result of an affair. Andrew looks nothing like his siblings, in his youth he was actually handsome, and he still has hair, unlike his “brothers”.

Not that it makes a bit of difference at this point with both Phillip and Elizabeth gone.

    • Ciotog says:

He looks a lot more like the Queen’s side than the other three.

    • Jaded says:

He is not Porchy’s or anyone else’s son. TQ became pregnant with Andrew AFTER Philip had been away at sea for many months. He was a reunion baby. Andrew definitely takes after TQ’s side of the family while Charles, Anne and Edward take after Philip’s side.

    • Sarah B. says:

If you look at a young Prince Edward and a young Prince Andrew, you can see the resemblance. Andrew has avoid the “Windsor Curse” that destroys everyone looks after age 25.

    • booboocita says:

I’ve always thought that Eugenie was the spitting image of Porchey. Just my two cents …

  20. Lee says:

Definitely wouldn’t be watching any dodgy interviews

  21. Jay says:

Haha, this is a bold ransom note from Andrew to his brother to pay him for shutting up, especially just before the coronation. He wants to stay in royal lodge and to keep his hefty allowance.

  22. Beverley says:

Hey Randy Andy, tell it to the FBI.
They’ve been wanting a tell-all interview with you for years.

  23. BeanieBean says:

So he wants the same kind of interviews Harry got? Without doing the work? Harry’s interviews were to promote his memoir, but Andrew just wants to be interviewed by Colbert & AC to explain away his being a client of a human trafficker? And I don’t know who this Daphne Barak is, described here as a US journalist, but a quick google shows she writes for the Daily Mail. Sure, OK, do an interview with Daphne. Love to see how that works out. Maybe she’ll get a movie made about the experience, just as his first interview has done (filming now). Ooh, maybe that movie will be released in time for the Chubbly!

    • Nanea says:

Daphne Barak is the “journalist” who did that infamous interview with Ghislaine Maxwell from prison the other day where GM tried to rehabilitate herself, and said how *the* photo of Paedrew with Virginia at GM’s place was fake.

I honestly have forgotten the details, but yeah, DB being mentioned would mean softball questions and giving the Nonce a chance at trying to rehabilitate himself. DB seems to have a terrible reputation of twisting facts and being very creative with the truth.

  24. Katie Beanstalk says:

The royals all have funny facial expressions – it’s not just Kate.

  25. Serena says:

On one hand I kind want to see Pedrew embarrass himself even further, on the other I need him to stfu forever -not before getting questioned by the FBI.

  26. Kittenmom says:

Oh, Andrew. The gift that keeps on giving! 😹 Please, do air your grievances on the world stage.

  27. HeyKay says:

Sedate Andrew for his own good. He is completely out of reality.
Btw, the DM has a post claiming Andrew is upset because TQ left $728M to Charles, as the heir.

It’s like Monopoly money to these Idiots.
Charles has so much money, I feel like he could write a personal check for $10M every few weeks and it would not even be missed.
    Like Scrooge McDuck, WTH?

  28. QuiteContrary says:

Do it, Andrew. Do interviews with anyone who asks.

But don’t expect to be paid for it. Real American journalists don’t pay for interviews, you stupid nonce.

    • TheWigletOfWails says:

He will be paid for it you know, because he’s a “real royal” and has titles..Netflix, Spotify and all the media companies will be banging on his door, begging to throw million dollar deals at him /s.

    • Anance says:

Andy – insist on getting paid, they’ll insist on real dirt in return. Your chance to talk about Chuck!

  29. Jaded says:

Do it Andrew and ruin whatever goodwill may be generated by the Chubbly. Take the whole fecking family down in flames. Upchuck’s timing for all this musical homes idiocy makes absolutely no sense, and Andrew’s too stupid and entitled to realize nobody believes a word he says. Charles’ reign may go down in history as one of the worst, it’s been one spectacular gaffe after another in barely 6 months.

  30. Sandra says:

Yes! Do it! Do it! Do it!…We DARE you! Lol
    What an imbecile!

  31. HeyKay says:

    These comments are so correct!

#1. I’m torn between the feeling that Someone on Andrews staff needs to lock him away and keep him quiet before he opens his gob and talks himself into jail because he IS that stupid/delusional/fat headed.
#2. Or, throw a boat load of cash at him and turn his loose. My gosh, imagine the details we could get out of Andrew, he’d burn that hot mess down in record time.
Play up to his ego, while he counts more money he hasn’t earned and this Royal Idiot could go for hours at a time, before he realizes what he’s actually doing.
#3. Honestly, Charles is handling everything so badly since TQ passed. I bet 50% of his staff are sending out job applications, and they rest are just waiting it out. If The Monarchy goes out of business, can they claim Unemployment? LOL

  32. Tigerlily says:

Good lord he truly is a sweaty nonce. Who is advising him? I think it would be hilarious for him to do an interview in the USA. He believes that as a ‘Blood Prince’ his word should be accepted and never questioned. LOL such a fool

  33. Nicky says:

    @ ANNAKIST
Yep he’s arrogant. When Windsor burned down the press asked him how the Q was taking it and he pompously replied “Her MAJESTY…” correcting the press for their lack of deference. He’s a rotten idiot I can’t see another interview being allowed by the palace but if they could convince him to do it in the US I’d appreciate the FBI having a few words for him as there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be in a federal US jail also, they didn’t let Maxwell ‘slither’ away and no reason to let this big slug get away either.

    • Well Wisher says:

Then the US will have to hand over the lady spy for trial in regards to the death of teenage boy by vehicular manslaughter in England.

      • Nicky says:

Why would they? I thought she’s already been sentenced and got a suspended jail term. I believe that was an accident. What Andrew did he was well aware of and it wasn’t just the once .

  34. Cassie says:

Harry and Eugenia have so much in common.
    Both have awful fathers ..

  35. Feebee says:

I would think any outlet worth their salt won’t pay for an interview. So if he’s looking for a payday he’s left with the “others”. I bet Amy Robach would love a crack as she had a story ready to go at ABC which was pulled at the last minute and I’m pretty sure it involved Andrew. She’s freelance at the moment so probably not possible.

I hope he does it. If he’s getting evicted one way or the other, what’s he got to lose? And we need some royal humour, it’s awfully bleak at the moment.

  36. Likeyoucare says:

Please do an interview with OPRAH.
was it rape or was it RAPE.

  37. Well Wisher says:

I do not have a dog in this fight but am rooting for Andrew because of the bad precedent this is setting.

Should Charles and William succeed in complete the destruction of Andrew, do not think for a moment that they would be satisfied with him, the next 🎯 is Harry.

Especially William, who has fear and loathing for his much better accomplished brother.

In terms of the Andrew’s lease, the question remains is it valid? is there a legal clause to negate it?

Harry on the othet hand may choose to simply asked to for an reimbursement and purchase a 🏠 out in the countryside.

If necessary, Andrew should do the same thing, in terms of interview, it is up to the broadcaster.
He should have let the allegations be tested in court.

    It’s on him……

  38. Mary Pester says:

@wesley, yes it was “said” but its complete bullsht, they have to be archived for at least 25 years, as was confirmed by Ken Wharf when he was asked about them., and he should know, he was harry and bullyams bodyguard long enough
