Post-eviction, Angela Kelly will probably sell out the Windsors in America

It was a long time coming, and it finally happened: King Charles evicted Angela Kelly, Queen Elizabeth’s longtime dresser and “best friend.” Kelly wielded her power over QEII for years and thought nothing of briefing against members of the family, including Prince Harry and Meghan. Kelly announced her eviction from her Windsor cottage on Instagram, telling her fans that she was moving to Yorkshire. What she failed to mention in her “woe is me” rants is that King Charles apparently arranged the Yorkshire home for her, free of charge, and the home will revert to the Crown when Kelly dies.

The King has secretly gifted the late Queen’s dresser Angela Kelly a new home to honour a promise made by his mother, The Mail on Sunday can reveal. Ms Kelly, 65, was promised lifelong accommodation by the Queen. But within months of Her Majesty’s death, the dressmaker was asked to vacate her cottage on the Windsor estate, as first revealed in the MoS.

Now the MoS has learnt that she has been granted accommodation by the King for the rest of her life. A source close to the Palace said that Ms Kelly had been gifted a new home, believed to be near Guiseley in Yorkshire. It is thought that the King has bought the property, which will revert to the Crown on her death.

A source said: ‘Angela wasn’t everybody’s cup of tea but nevertheless the King had no wish to see her homeless. I get the impression the King just didn’t want to be living next door to her.’

A source close to the Palace said: ‘The narrative that the King is heartless has all been very wide of the mark. His Majesty has never wanted to see anybody homeless, particularly someone who has been so loyal.’

[From The Mail]

So, that was Buckingham Palace doing some clean-up on the story after Kelly ran her mouth off on social media. The palace called up their friends at the Mail and said: actually, the king gave her a new place, no one wanted her to keep living in Windsor. Then, after that, someone (??) ran to Richard Kay at the Mail and Kay wrote this absolutely bonkers and long-winded column about Poor Angela Kelly. It’s all very strange. Some highlights:

Being forced out of her Windsor home: It was not just the timing — just days before the Coronation — but the manner of her departure which raised eyebrows. There was one further surprise: she revealed that her Palace-issued mobile phone had been cut off. On the face of it, such caustic comments suggest that the fiery Ms Kelly, whose hair-trigger temper was behind the nickname she received at Buckingham Palace — AK-47, a play on her initials and the Soviet-built assault rifle — has been shabbily treated after all her years of steadfast loyalty. Terminating her telephone does, on the surface at least, seem churlish. But absent from those curious posts was one significant factor: the dressmaker’s new Yorkshire home is understood to have been provided by the King.

Charles’s solution: He has honoured his late mother’s wish that Angela should have lifetime accommodation provided for her and removed a possible threat from someone whom Prince Harry described in his memoir, Spare, as ‘obstructive’ and ‘a troublemaker’. At the same time, it has freed up a valuable property that through patronage he can now bestow on a valued member of his staff.

Karma, Windsor-style: Like many a royal favourite, Angela discovered that the influence — and power — she enjoyed vanished with the death of her mistress. ‘There was a huge sense of that old phrase ‘What goes around comes around’,’ says a former Palace steward. ‘She had thrown her weight around in the past and now she no longer had the protection of the Queen.’

Charles didn’t care for Angela Kelly either: But while it’s one thing to fall out with the Queen’s grandson, albeit the difficult one, it was quite another matter to risk the ire of the heir to the throne. As Prince of Wales, Charles was dismayed when Ms Kelly was granted his mother’s permission to write a series of books about her life with the Queen, which were advertised as providing an insight into the ‘true and lasting connection’ between the two women. Although the books were confined to Angela’s area of expertise — namely, the Queen’s wardrobe and her clothes — and were largely innocuous, Charles was horrified by some of the informal photographs used as illustrations. In one, the Queen had her feet up on a chaise longue.

Alarm bells: Alarms bells began to ring over some of the ‘charming anecdotes of [the] time’ the two women spent together. One such was the story of how Angela and the Queen would spend time at Balmoral peering at the night sky and how the Queen had taught her the constellations of the Milky Way. Stargazing was certainly not part of Angela’s ‘area of expertise’.

Strings attached: Two books have so far appeared — though one was updated to include the Platinum Jubilee — and it was understood that there would be a third. The future of this one, a history of the Queen’s love of dogs, in particular corgis, is now said to be uncertain. According to a source, the King’s provision of a house for the duration of Angela Kelly’s life is almost certain to have come with strings attached. This usually means a non-disclosure agreement, preventing interviews or memoirs about royal service.

Angelina could sell her stories in America: In the past, Ms Kelly has talked of spending time in America, where she would almost certainly be in demand on the TV chat show circuit. Such a prospect would give Palace aides palpitations. As one of her friends told me: ‘Could she make a lot of money from all she knows? You bet she could.’

[From The Daily Mail]

While I relish Angela Kelly’s comeuppance, I also think that Charles is an idiot for evicting all of these people who are “loyal.” He’s breaking leases all over the place and he made a point of evicting the family which actually paid millions for their Windsor home. If Angela Kelly was on the fence about selling out to the highest bidder, I bet she no longer has any qualms. Anyway, good riddance to Angela Kelly and I really hope that no American network pays that nutcase for her commentary or expertise.

I think this is all BS.
If she wants to write a book, who can stop her?
My question is after learning all we have from Spare, what else is there to say?
Harry came out with the truth.

No one under 70 would buy another book about QE, IMO.

    • zazzoo says:

Still friggin’ hilarious though. Who needs the Sussexes when the old guard are turning on each other? Evictions, nasty tell alls, a coronation of follies, meanwhile M & H are quietly tending to their organic vegetable garden and rescue chickens.

      • Sugarhere says:

Angela Kelly’s downfall is a cautionary tale for all the royal sycophants waiting in line for their bone out there: you will not be rewarded ever for your dedicated slimy sucker’s years. Siding with these people means you’re ready to forsake your dignity to no avail.

Being an egomaniac, Charles must have envied and resented AK for winning his mother’s trust and affection. Yet, the woman is not a victim at all: she never had to spend a penny of her generous incomes since she was fully taken care of, and she enjoyed a sheltered luxury life few people on earth can access.

My boss won’t be offering me a nice country cottage when I retire. Just piss off, Angela! And remember how unnecessarily hard you made it for Meghan to get an appointment for hair fitting, tormenting people making legitimate demands, how much of a sadist you proved to be when you were on your swaggering power trip.

    • Isabella says:

Can they pull the Yorkshire home if she starts babbbling? I think that’s the threat.

  2. MsIam says:

She’ll be the next “Paul the butler” I’m sure. Just keep the Sussexes name out of her mouth.

  3. molly says:

It’s like Alien verses Predator. I’m not sure who to cheer for in this story.

  4. Seraphina says:

I cannot wait if she does. I will read it. Charles is an idiot. Maybe back in the day he would have been safe because no one would publish her work due to “gentlemen’s agreements” or what have you but in this day and age, she will easy get her story out there. He has no forethought what so ever. Chuck the clever he is not.

  5. girl_ninja says:

Lololol 😂😂 Charles is so stupid and Angela is such a leaching loser.

“There was one further surprise: she revealed that her Palace-issued mobile phone had been cut off.”

Yes dummy. When you no longer work for a company/organization you no longer get the benefits.

And these people have the nerve to try to diss Duchess Meghan. Pul-ezee.

    • Sugarhere says:

Her complaint about the phone she expected to keep for free post retirement, tells you everything you need to know as regard to the level of entitlement and self-complacency of the Queen’s backstabbing Minister of barks and bluster.

  6. Emmi says:

What … who at the DM thought writing this up like queer fanfiction was the way to go? Seriously, I get having a bff – I love my best friend and nothing will come between us – but this sounds like Kelly is Liz’ Penny Knatchbull. If this is what’s in the books, I may actually be interested.

And Charles is a moron. I don’t get it. Next he’ll cut off Andrew. All these people have now seen what happens if you actually leave with all your stories. I know they claim that H&M are suffering but come on, they know they got a better deal than the rest of them, still under Chuck’s thumb.

  7. LadyE says:

I really don’t care what happens to this woman and there are more than enough reasons to fire her and throw her out (without buying her a new home), BUT: “Stargazing was certainly not part of Angela’s ‘area of expertise’.” Christ on a cracker, people, are you kidding me? This is what you’re up in arms about? Sorry, but this is the same kind of made up on the spot ‘protocol’ that the Palace sources were constantly launching at Meghan. Either be mad she wrote the books, fine enough. Be mad she was a massive bitch who threw her weight around. Fair enough. But, to act like “well, the problem really is that she wrote about the Queen pointing out the constellations of the Milky Way!! Outrage!!!” is so dumb.

I also think it’s actually cool that QEII knew the constellations of the Milky Way. Such weird people

    • Becks1 says:

Those anecdotes about stargazing were problematic because those(among others) had people talking about the “true” nature of QEII’s relationship with angela Kelly and I think that’s what ticked charles off, probably.

Anyway so she lost her home on the Windsor estate with security etc but he gave her a new home in Yorkshire? Well its more than he did for his own son.

      • LadyE says:

I mean sure if one is inclined to look for that type of subtext, I imagine the entire book is one big torrid insinuation of a love affair. But, I think it’s a stretch to suggest that reading about QEII teaching her the constellations or even that she liked looking at stars at night is a particular wink wink in that sense.

Re: KC paying for the house, the minute I learned that he set up trust funds for Cam’s kids I didn’t need to know anything else in terms of his treatment of Harry and Meghan. Indefensible. Absolutely no way to spin that in my mind. It’s much worse than whatever he’s paying Angela for.

      • Becks1 says:

@LadyE I frankly dont care either way what AK and the Queen might have been doing behind closed doors, but there were a few other stories like that included in one of her books and I think that might have crossed a line for some royals. It’s the kind of thing that most people are going to shrug and roll their eyes at but there’s a reason that particular anecdote was cited in this article as a reason why AK is problematic.

      • LadyE says:

@Becks1 more evidence of the terrible PR sense of the Palace. If they don’t want people to make that association, you’d think they would not make a point of highlighting it in such an awkward and isolated way that people would speculate about it…oy these people!

  8. Ameerah M says:

This is one eviction that I am 100% behind. It’s interesting that AK didn’t seem to consider the fact that QEII wouldn’t live forever and that the person she should have made sure not to piss off was the heir. Also – I don’t blame Charles for not wanting her anywhere near him and the palace. You know that old bat would have been snooping around and selling stories on the down low. All from her Palace-paid for cell phone.

  9. HeyKay says:

    Charles and company suck. Period.

Meanwhile, in sunny CA, H&M + kids are having a nice breakfast while planning their day together.
Walk on the beach, story time, bit of a nap, playing with the dogs, learning about nature, kindness, singing the ABC and colors song with Lil. Archie might be having a play date with a buddy.
H&M getting work from home done.
No body back stabbing, plotting against each other.
H&M really did the right move.

  10. equality says:

Oh no, not a picture of QE with her feet up! What scandal!

    • LadyE says:

LOL right?? Angela Kelly sucks, no doubt, but every time a courtier opens their mouth, it’s like “wow, impressive, you might suck more!” These people are so insufferable, it’s kind of hard to assess how much Kelly actually was a bitch towards them (not towards Meghan where it’s very clear) and not just them being the worst as usual

  11. Amy Bee says:

When the press and royalists were gleeful about Harry’s eviction they should have known that their faves were going to be dealt with in the same manner. I have no sympathy for Angela Kelly, she’s a press favourite because she leaked stories to the press.

  12. Digital Unicorn says:

Kelly is a vindictive old hag of course she will try and stick it to Chuck where ever she can for money. And yeah she’s the new ‘talking butler for hire’. I wonder what personal items of TQs she has stashed away.

  13. HeyKay says:

A very good point brought up here is, Charles now has tons of people who must be paid to keep quiet.
The blackmail list is long. Andrew is at the top. Give me what I want or I start talking.
Imagine the $$ he will need to spread to keep the extended family toeing the line.
Even just the next 10 years?
Andrew and Fergie are certainly being paid by Charles. Look how Fergie is still giving interviews, now chatting about the damn corgis, she is subtly playing nice for pay.

The clock is truly ticking on The Monarchy. Hurry it up.

  14. BayTampaBay says:

The Angela AK-47 Kelly story is one that I would like to hear both sides of because there is whole lot of story we have not heard.

I would also love to hear the complete story on Christopher Geidt.

  15. QuiteContrary says:

These people really deserve each other.

  16. Mel says:

You never stomp all over the folks who know where the bodies are buried. Angela Kelly is getting what she deserves but it seems that Charles and perhaps Cams are about to get it with both barrels. I’m sure Angela has stories………..

  17. JCallas says:

Angela will probably write a book crapping all over Harry and Meghan.

  18. Myeh says:

Next on Fox News – Ms Angela Kelly lovingly called AK-47, gun loving conservative caregiver and confidante of the “ReAL” Queen…..

  19. BeanieBean says:

These people are weird. I fail to see what’s so awful about using a photo of the queen with her feet up on a chaise, or relating how they shared a common interest in stargazing. That’s just mean to say she’s ‘outside her area of expertise’ and shouldn’t be talking about that. Cripes!
