James Middleton & Alizee Thevenet welcomed their first child & the Mail got photos

Over the summer, James Middleton and his wife Alizee Thevenet announced that they were expecting their first child. The news was the one bright spot for the Middletons this year, given the collapse of Party Pieces, the financial struggles of yet another poorly managed business for James, and the mysterious and malicious Bucklebury poster campaign. I haven’t seen any photos of James in months, same with photos of Carole or Michael Middleton. They’ve all been in hiding since Party Pieces collapsed into bankruptcy. Except – how curious! – James Middleton just confirmed the birth of his first child through an exclusive, candid, pap-stroll photoshoot with the Daily Mail.

Princess Kate’s brother James Middleton has welcomed his first chid with wife Alizee Thevenet. The entrepreneur, 36, was spotted alongside Alizee going for a walk with the newborn in Notting Hill on Tuesday.

The baby – whose gender has not been revealed – is the first cousin of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis and the niece or nephew of Princess Kate and Prince William.

The parents have kept the exact details and date of the baby’s birth private. It’s believed the baby was born in recent weeks as James shared a snap of his then-pregnant wife on September 12th to celebrate their anniversary and declare: ‘the best is yet to come’.

Already a doting dad, James, 36, pushed the £795 Silver Cross pram while sporting an autumnal ensemble of navy chinos, brown boots and a green jacket. He added a yellow scarf to brighten up the look, while Alizee, 33, sported a double denim look in a blue shirt and jeans which she paired with a 1970s-inspired brown suede coat and fur gilet.

[From The Daily Mail]

They did a photoshoot in Notting Hill, a neighborhood in which they do not live. They bought a £1.45 million home in Bucklebury in 2021, and they supposedly live there full time. Did they think it would be too obvious to set up a photoshoot in Bucklebury? They could have done a photoshoot with the stroller, walking past all of the laminated posters blasting Carole Middleton! LOL, that’s why the photoshoot was in Notting Hill. Anyway, congrats to James and Alizee. I hope their child has Alizee’s head for business.

The mysterious and malicious Bucklebury poster campaign😂😂😂!

  3. Libra says:

Somebody set up a pap stroll. Carole is that you?

    • Lau says:

She is totally the British version of Kris Jenner, selling her children/grandchildren left and right.

  4. girl_ninja says:

Alizee looks like she was plucked from the 70’s. Her style fun and she’s cute. I do hope that she has a iron clad pre-nup to protect her, her baby and any other future children.

  5. MsIam says:

This is what the Fail wanted for the Sussexes, to be out here posing for dollars, or pounds lol. And I think this is a dig, look at the broke family with their £800 stroller. Ha!

    • Talia says:

I don’t think it’s any secret that James’ lifestyle comes from his wife’s money not the Middletons.

I can only assume she is genuinely in love with him – I can’t see ‘my child is first cousin to a FFK’ being worth being attached to the Middleton scandals.

      • Alicky says:

She has that kind of money? Was wondering how these two support themselves.

      • Unblinkered says:

Wonder what the girl’s parents really think of the Middletons since the exposure of £2.5m debts.
Hope they had a good lawyer

      • BQM says:

@alicky I don’t think she has FU money but I think she earns enough for them to have a very upper, upper middle class lifestyle. Nice house, maybe a vacation home, good schools, vacations etc

    • Smart&Messy says:

Are those Peg’s hand-me-down shoes on James? The ones he discarded after copying Harry’s sneakers.

    • duchess of hazard says:

@Alicky – I think she works in the financial sector, and her parents seem to be comfortable. Dunno what she sees in him though.

      • Talia says:

She seems to have the sort of high powered career in finance which is made much easier by having a spouse who either doesn’t work or accepts their job takes second place to the main earner.

If they are both happy with it, why not. James hasn’t been a success as the ‘dynamic young entrepreneur’ the press (and Carole) tried to portray him as but he and Alizee seem to be genuinely fond of each other.

I think all 3 children would be better off out from under Carole’s thumb. Kate will never make the break but James and Pippa may have a chance.

  6. Mslove says:

I can’t imagine anyone wanting to look at James Middleton pushing a stroller.

  7. Bettyrose says:

They want to be the Kardashians so badly. Maybe H & M could make introductions for them.

  8. Harper says:

They won’t even tell us if it is a girl or boy? Talk about stretching out the publicity. Next week the Mail can exclusively reveal the baby is a …. girl. The next week the Fail can exclusively reveal that she is named …. Jecca!

  9. Melissa says:

I think the term “fur gilet” is the most bougie word I’ve ever heard for a vest.

  10. Lizzie says:

All I know about Alizee is she is French and doesn’t seen to crave having her pic taken, which is rare in that family. Are there any pics of her and Kate together? I’m betting she got the same reception from Kate as Meghan received

    • VilleRose says:

No, I just looked at Google images and there are no pics of Kate and Alizee alone together. Alizee shows up for all the family events like the Christmas carol concert, Wimbledon outings, the Platinum Jubilee concert (the only event the Middletons showed up to during the Queen’s last Jubilee and they were all the way in the back row which I thought was really strange at the time) but she’s always with James or near her in-laws. She’s never seen standing near Kate so I don’t believe they are close at all.

    • Nic919 says:

Kate wasn’t even seen in the photo shoot of the James and Alizee wedding, which was odd. William wasn’t either, but this was a wedding where kate went to the south of france days earlier than William, so it’s questionable if he even attended the wedding.

  11. Amy Bee says:

Looks like either James had a hair transplant or he’s wearing a toupee.

  12. Digital Unicorn says:

The fact that they got papped strolling around Notting Hill is hilarious – NH is a notorious celeb spotting area as many live around that wider area and its also a notorious tourist spot due to Portobello Market (the street food is to die for).

Nothing says ‘I wanna be papped like a celeb’ like being papped like a celeb in a notorious celeb spot.

    • MaryContrary says:

When I was there in June, Rufus Sewell strolled past the cafe I was sitting in and I legit almost had a stroke. The women who were working the counter said he comes in often and is very nice.

  13. Harla A Brazen Hussy says:

I wonder how Pippa and Kate are as SILs? I really don’t understand why any woman would marry into that family, it really boggles my mind.

    • BeanieBean says:

I think Pippa would make you go for a run or a hike with her, and Kate would make you curtsey to her. I’d choose Pippa.

      • Kelsey says:

The bar is in hell, but Pippa definitely seems like the fun, hospitable one. She at least seems like she can PRETEND not to put on heirs while in the presence of company.

      • QuiteContrary says:

Kelsey, I loved your typo: “put on heirs.”

      • BQM says:

Pippa seems happier, friendlier and less thirsty once she married a guy who loves her and escaped her mother’s social climbing.

    • bisynaptic says:

Putting personal considerations aside, I’m sure being royal-adjacent is helpful to her career.

  14. Libra says:

I wonder if James grew a spine and told Kate that if his wife received the Meghan treatment there would be hell to pay.

  15. Amy Bee says:

He couldn’t be more obvious considering he has an instagram account.

    • Kelsey says:

I get vibes that his wife had to make that call herself. James strikes me as one of the men relieved to have the girlfriend/woman who will speak up and tell the waiter he ordered mashed potatoes and not fries because he’s too scared to bring it up himself.

  16. Blithe says:

Fashion / jewelry question: QEII often wore diamond and pearl earrings— that I think had belonged to Queen Mary. She gave a similar pair to Meghan — and I think similar pairs to other women in her family. So: Alizee is wearing what seems to be a similar pair in her wedding photo. Is this a more ubiquitously classic style than I realized? Are the earrings some sort of symbol of royal adjacency? Am I over-exaggerating their similarity to QEII’s earrings? It doesn’t seem likely that they were her “something borrowed” from Kate — but you never know, I guess.

  17. Penny says:

Births are public records in the UK.
Maybe Alizee wanted to be with her family in France for the birth.
Would stop Carole nosing in half an hour after the event at least!

  18. Bellaluna McKenzie says:

    Something bothers me here.

Why say their child is ‘first cousin’ to George, Charlotte and Louis? Do they mean it as firstborn cousin (which would be a lie, given Pippa’s three children are older than this one), or first cousin as in ‘our parents are related, so we are cousin…and not second/third cousin)?

I’m Canadian by birth and no matter how removed, we always say cousin, period. No first, second, third. The only occasion we say first/second/third is for the order of birth.

    Can anyone elaborate?

    • Blithe says:

I read “first cousin “ as meaning that James and Kate are siblings — so, specifying the degree of cousinship. So Kate’s kids, Pippa’s kids, and James’s kid are all each other’s “first cousins”. I’m used to saying “cousin” for all cousinship relationships— but people who are into genealogy, including royal genealogy, are big on being very specific, especially when relating to access to the throne and or the monarch.

      • Bellaluna McKenzie says:

Ah. That makes sense like that. Otherwise, I had a bit WTF hanging in a bubble over my head. Thanks.

    • Talia says:

I’m British and I would say cousin or first cousin to mean my parents’ siblings’ children.

Anything more distant, I’d say ‘second / third cousin’ or ‘my cousin’s son’. With the latter, everyone would know I meant first cousin’s child.

Any more distant than that, like a lot of British people, I’ve never met them and wouldn’t recognise them if I bumped into them in the street so I don’t call them anything.

That woman’s name is Alizee. That’s all I got 🤣🤣
