Khloe Kardashian: ‘A lot of people don’t know that we didn’t have an inheritance’

Khloe Kardashian Departs From LAX

Khloe Kardashian covers the newest issue of ES Magazine, which is the British newspaper The Evening Standard’s in-house weekend magazine. The cover is pretty assy so I’m not going to use it, but just trust me when I say that all of us could probably draw the Pinocchio Butt from memory at this point. Khloe spoke to ES to promote the current season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, to promote her denim line and to promote the idea that Tristan Thompson needs to propose to her. I’m being serious. She uses the platform to basically tell her boyfriend that he should propose to her. You can read the full piece here. Some highlights:

Her Good American denim line is revolutionary: “The line is all about empowerment, making women feel great about themselves and embracing women of all shapes.’ There’s no ‘plus-size’ in the range, a term Kardashian detests. Instead, the jeans come in UK sizes 6 to 24, differentiating them from anything on the market.

When she was heavier: ‘I never considered myself fat, but when I used to shop with my sisters I was always really shamed and shunned by [sales assistants] who would say: “We don’t carry that size here”… I was always so embarrassed, so for a long time I didn’t wear denim at all. I kept getting angrier.’ Celebrity stylists would refuse to work with her. ‘They said they didn’t dress people my size. It’s shocking,’ she says, but ‘once I lost weight, the same people would reach out, and be like, “We would love to style you”. I was like, “Screw you”.’

She was introduced to Tristan Thompson by a mutual friend: ‘He said: “I have someone I want you to meet.” I said: “Absolutely not. I don’t go on blind dates.”’ But when she met the basketball player (who has a four-month old son with his former girlfriend, model Jordan Craig) she says ‘we both felt this strong energy. I was like, oh this is such a nice, normal man — the normalcy is what I was craving. I’m a Christian; he’s a believer in God and that’s important to me. Tristan’s morals and ethics are everything I’ve wanted and need in my life.’

Tristan appeals on KUWTK: ‘If I’m at a dinner with my family and he’s there. But now I know I don’t need to put everything on social media and I like to keep some things close to my heart’.

On Kim’s Paris robbery: ‘I get really angry when people blame her for her robbery — I think that is the most irresponsible accusation. I don’t care how little or how much you have, nobody deserves to be violated and robbed and assaulted and traumatised. I got very frustrated with that and [the suggestion that] “oh this was scripted” or “we planned it”. What is wrong with human beings?’ How is her sister? ‘Kimberly is one of the strongest women I’ve ever met. We’re not people who sit in sorrow if something bad happens and go, “woe is me”. We take these experiences and try to help somebody else with them, or just make sure they don’t happen again.’

Her childhood: ‘We always went to feed the homeless on skid row. We lived in a beautiful mansion in Beverly Hills, I had miniature ponies at every party, but my dad never wanted us to think that was reality. He was really strict. We had a lot of chores.’ When she turned 16, ‘my friends had brand new BMWs — I had a 15-year-old car… A lot of people don’t know that we didn’t have an inheritance. I think there is a silver lining to my dad’s passing: he has been my guardian angel and in a way has guided us through life. There’s a blessing even in the most tragic of things.’

Her work ethic: ‘I worked for my dad as a secretary in the summer and after school. I was never allowed to sleep in. They wanted to teach us the value of being productive with your day.’

She wants a family: ‘I would love to have a family,’ she says. With Thompson? ‘We’ve talked about it. He [already] is a father, and I know for a fact that he would be an impeccable father. I definitely want to be a mom. But I don’t put the pressure on it. It’s not like, “the clock is ticking”. I feel in my soul it will happen.’ There are no immediate plans to walk down the aisle but she does say she has ‘never been in this type of love’. If he proposed, would she accept? ‘Yes I would.’

[From ES Magazine]

Meh. That’s how I feel about all of this. I’m not going to scream “leave Khloe alone!” nor am I going to act as a Khloe Apologist (even though she used to be my favorite). I don’t think she comes across badly here, but I also think… the tide is turning on the Kardashians a bit this year. People aren’t as eager for Kardashian coverage these days, and I think that’s a good thing overall. Of course, I also don’t think Tristan is going to marry Khloe?

I can feel it, guys.. 2017 will be the year the kardashians disapear

    • Frida says:

I agree. As someone who used to love celeb gossip and semi-care about the Kardashians (I know, don’t judge), political news is dominating the internet and as long as orange asshat is the president, that won’t change. With the world is going to sh*t, plastic celebs are the last thing anyone is worried about.

Sidenote: Didn’t Tristan just have a baby with another woman?

    • Mousyb says:

I comment on here saying that every 2-4 months – I truly believe it now!!! Not only is too much happening in the real world to care about them at that same level, they just arent that interesting. Plus their hiatus for a few months during Kim’s robbery put a dent in their influence I believe and the gossip world slowly started moving on. The pepsi debacle also contributed to that.

    • Famika says:

I don’t watch the show, but I give them props for making a fortune in the Reality series age and lasting so long. Can’t watch the show though, from the short previews I’ve seen it looks like a waste of time.

I wish the Vitriolic Housewives shows would disappear, I have definitely watched several franchises over the years and they are just meanspirited women baiting-hate machines. I don’t see what those women get out of it.

    • Paris says:

      Amen! Amen! Amen!
We all are sick and tired of Kardashians/Jenners.
KUWTK ratings massively dropped, but they still are trying to terrorize us with new Docu-Series, Life of Kylie. Meeeeh… it’s like Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

  2. Megan says:

It kind of cracks me up when one of the Ks talks about morals and ethics.

    • Loopy says:

Not to generalize but if she wants to settle down and have kids, a 25 year old baller who left his pregnant girlfriend on paper doesn’t seem like the way to go.

      • Delta Juliet says:

But he’s a nice, normal Christian guy!

      • Mousyb says:

Right? Her poor taste in men and inability to learn from them is kind of sad tbh. She’s 32 years old, she should have the common sense to know this guy is not going to give her that. But maybe he’ll surprise me, who knows?

    • MaybeTomorrow says:

Their proclamations of being Christians while dropping f-bombs, saying “screw you” with regularity and living naked kind of annoy me. I’m no Christian , I make no claims to be, but yeah…..it bugs me big time when they do that.

      • Tashkent says:

Meh all Christianity says is to not take the Lord’s name in vain. It doesn’t say anything about the f bomb! The nudity thing is definitely not Christian though. I’m pretty sure the kardashians are the devil’s children too.

      • jwoolman says:

The language is boring but not intrinsically immoral. Ditto for boring nakedness. The way they treat each other and other people and all the lying is what bothers me. And the way Kim uses her kids as props plus the way she neglected her firstborn until she was cute enough to get Kim more attention and then dragged the child around inappropriately to pretend she was bonded. That child spent the first couple of years with a “who the heck are you?” look on her face while Kim mugged for the camera.

      • MaybeTomorrow says:

@jwoolman…. your comments re the kid reminded me of the show where North was on a video shoot with her dad, and Kim showed up, made this huge pretense of needing to hide so North wouldn’t be distracted during filming by running to her………and then when North did know her mom was there she was completely unfazed and ignored Kim’s presence.

      • Bee says:

Christianity is more than swearing. If you never swear, that doesn’t make you a Christian.

      • Chetta B. says:

And constantly lying through their teeth? Or sorry, veneers? lol

    • DystopianDance says:

Given her mess of a violent coat- “morals and ethics”, particularly as this one used PETA to launch a national nude photo campaign “rather go naked than wear fur” (rather be naked with a PETA subsidy until I buy a deer skin dog fur thing.

      • Ashamed 2 b a Fl girl says:

I read that as “a deer skin dog fur” thong and had a truly, major EWWW moment.

      • Tashkent says:

I have rabbits for meat and I regularly slaughter them humanely to feed my family. I also use their skins for things, I am attempting to make a blanket and have plans for coats as well. Why not use the entire animal? People eat cows, why not use the leather? I only have a problem with it when it is cruelly obtained, which is probably all mainstream mass produced fur products to be honest.

      • DystopianDance says:

The point is the above celebrity used PETA money to promote her naked (airbrushed) body, ( I’d rather go naked than wear fur- campaign- paid for by donations to end animal cruelty) then steps out in a baby deer/ dog fur coat a year later. Neither “moral nor ethical”. More like conniving, greedy and blatantly cruel.

  3. Tanguerita says:

Oh, cry me a river. And seriously, can any member of this wretched family form a sentence without using the word “like”, like, repeatedly?

  4. Wiffie says:

“The tides are turning for the Kardashians, this year I think” says every blogger every 4 months since 2010.

    • Loopy says:

They will never disappear they have like two generations waiting in the wings.

      • Mare says:

Kylie is getting her own show, which she’ll probably have all the family members doing appearances.

  5. Loopy says:

Khloe used to be a lot of peoples favourite but when she started Barbieng it up she turned a lot of people off,now I don’t if its because some people just don’t like when the ‘frumpy’ girl becomes a sex pot or for other reasons, personally her and Kylie are just way too superficial.

    • Kezia says:

I think it’s more that she has quite an aggressive personality coming out more and more with her petty fights with celebs, like she has a massive chip on her shoulder. Well that was the nail in the coffin for me, why be angry at people all the time, you lead quite a charmed life without having any discernible talents for the mounds of money you’re making, take it down a notch- ya know?!

    • jwoolman says:

Khloe was also manipulative and actively sabotaged her brother’s relationships. She thought of herself as “street” when she was rich suburban and just used foul language to shock and put people off. She did that to the Cheetah girl’s parents and just seeing clips on promos was disturbing. She thought she was liberated but she really was just rude and disrespectful. She also had opportunities dropped in her lap but refused to do the work to make the best of them. She has the native brains but she just has never developed them and just coasts. She would have benefitted from a real education far far away from her family.

People just thought Khloe was more interesting than the others in the K Klan. But she really was often not very nice a person except when she wanted something. Her online rages are disturbing and so junior high. Not surprising since she was raised by Kris, who was abusive and neglectful. Khloe is much more like her mother than she would ever want to admit, right down to the difficulties with alcohol and likely other drugs. I think she is genuinely good with kids, though, so there’s hope. I do think she would become a good mother and that might help her heal. She’s a good aunt to Nori, who needs all the nurturing she can get.

I also think Khloe and the others might have had a better chance if their father had stayed healthy and lived. He wasn’t perfect but he was far better for his kids than their Demon Mother. Maybe not Kim, though, she and her father locked horns pretty early and Kim’s ambition to be famous for whatever overrode everything else. But Kourtney, Rob, and Khloe really lost something important when they lost him. Kourtney, who spent the most time with him, came out of their lousy childhood the most normal, although she has relationship issues.

    • African Sun says:

Don’t come for my head but I think many people are kind of jealous of Khloe (not you babe). Many people deep down want to change how their bodies look, regardless of what body positivity says. She managed to through weight management, diet, exercise (or surgery depending on what you believe).

I think she looks absolutely gorgeous and I like her. Yeah they are fairly vapid but they have been in the fame game for 10 years. They are not going anywhere.

  6. Hollz says:

I honestly really like how Khloe comes across in this article. I’ve never watched the show, but some how manage to obsessively follow the Kardashians here on CB and Khloe has always been my favourite. She seems real, compared to her sisters (probably because she was the “misfit” of the group.)

Also, that picture of them in the Canadian Tuxedos is amazing. (It’s in the full article)

    • jwoolman says:

She’s a real liar, I’ll give her that. See my comment down further below.

I thought she was better than the others also, so I’m really disappointed with her increasing liar liar pants on fire approach. Remember piegate? She even lied about making pies she bought from a bakery. Didn’t even bother removing the signature feature that allowed the baker to recognize it (the baker was ticked) and even displayed them exactly as on the bakery’s website. Showed herself taking out of the oven, and was not just warming them up. She was saying she had made them with her own two little hands.

Maybe she was always lying, we were just so distracted by Kim’s lies that we wrongly assumed Khloe was more truthful.

      • Lasagnawasgreat says:

Liar is right. During the first few seasons of the show, they talked about their dad leaving about $2 million for each of his kids n now here she is talking about him not leaving them anything.
She was the only one that i liked but that changed yeeeears ago because i just started to see how rude n nasty she really is

  7. JustJen says:

Skid row??? Who SAYS that? I mean, yay for your for helping the less fortunate but when I hear that term, I think of the 80’s hair band or the old days when they had boarding houses (flop houses, as my grandma would call them). And when I say old days I’m talking 1930’s-40’s.

    • Lafawnda says:

A lot of people say that. Skid Row is an actual place in Los Angeles where homeless, drug addicts live. The area is kind of dedicated for that purpose. I’ve been there and it’s a very real place. I understand why it sounds strange to some people though.

  8. riemc526 says:

A lot of people don’t care either.

  9. Anilehcim says:

“When she turned 16, ‘my friends had brand new BMWs — I had a 15-year-old car… A lot of people don’t know that we didn’t have an inheritance.”

Either this is BS or Kim really was the favorite daughter because Kanye made a (touching) video for Kim’s birthday that featured home videos of her over the years it showed that her father bought her a brand new BMW convertible for her 16th birthday… so I’m not really buying the whole “we never got anything special or brand new or nice or fancy” rags to riches story she is trying to sell. Kim also said in an interview that Kourtney had a matching BMW in a different color.

I think their father was the only stability in their lives and I really do believe their lives would’ve turned out differently if he was still alive. I think these women do a lot of shameless, classless things that their father would’ve likely disapproved of and it would influence their decisions. Then again, didn’t her father defend OJ? So maybe I’m giving him too much credit in the morals department.

As far as learning from bad things that happen to them… if she is really making a public plea for her man of what? 6 months? to marry her, she hasn’t learned a damn thing after marrying a man she didn’t know and having that blow up in her face.

    • swak says:

When I was 16 I had to fight with my brothers to use the family car. I would have loved a 15 year old car to drive around in.

    • Anon33 says:

Kill me for knowing this, but Khloe didn’t get a new car like Kim and Kourtney did when they turned 16. Apparently PMK bought HERSELF a new BMW and gave Khloe her castoff. They’ve told the story a number of times on the show.

      • me says:

That is true. Their father was still alive when Kim and Kourtney turned 16. Khloe did not get a new car for her bday as she turned 16 after her dad died, but I think Rob did get a new car…or was that when he graduated USC? I don’t know but this family tells so many lies they can’t keep them straight.

    • Kimberly J Mcdonald says:

This is true and I think it’s very telling about Robert not believing she was his. Kris had to beg him to b5iy her a luxury car when she turned 18 where the others all got them at 16. But, the inheritance was supposedly split between his kids. Maybe she was just left out for the same reason.

    • jwoolman says:

Defending OJ was not a character flaw. Just shows he was a loyal friend, although his body language revealed that he had come to believe OJ was guilty by the end of the trial. A lawyer can’t just walk off a case, the judge has to agree and they often don’t. It can be prejudicial to the defense. That’s why Hillary Clinton couldn’t get out of defending a man she personally believed to be a rapist as charged. Judge said no. And she had to defend him well or she would be in big trouble. It’s a way to guarantee that everybody really does get a proper defense in our adversarial system. Every lawyer ends up defending people who are guilty whether or not they are convicted, it’s part of the job and professional ethics.

  10. bonobchick says:

    “don’t know” or … didn’t care?

  11. Pedro45 says:

    Another basketball player? Girl, no.

    • Tashkent says:

She has to find really tall men so she looks dainty next to them. I am super short so I don’t know for sure but I bet lots of tall women want to feel petite so they try and find the skyscraper men!

      • Lady D says:

I think, and I could be wrong, but most taller women enjoy their height. Speaking for myself and a few family members none of us have ever wanted to be petite. At 5’8″ I’m among the shorter of the women in my family and I would like to be taller. It’s been my experience that a lot of really short women wish they were taller. Again jmo.

      • kay says:

yeah, ladyD…i am 5’2′ and would love another foot.
        sigh.
        🙂

  12. Jane says:

Oh Boo freaking Hoo. Cry me a river. This whole family makes me so sick to my stomach. So she doesn’t have an “inheritance” but has more money than many of us. She really needs to shut her trap.

  13. me says:

Ummm there is video tape of Khloe and her sisters saying they got inheritance and used part of that money to open up Dash.

    • jwoolman says:

Yes, she’s definitely lying about that. They’ve all said they put their inheritances from their father into the store. Khloe was living on her own by her late teens and she wasn’t living in poverty. If that 15 year old car was Kris’s castoff, you can bet it was a good car in good condition and better than any car anyone in my family ever had.

Also she’s never felt love like this? So all the slobbering over Lamar and her big E! wedding were all an act?!? She made a whole spinoff show out of her undying love for Lamar. She took a bath in candy for him. (Ewww.)

Khloe is lying like her sister Kim in this interview. What is her game in doing this? Why is she making up a whole different life? Who wrote this script?

  14. sunnydaze says:

I have no idea what the situation is with this guy and the mother of his child but….it sounds like Khloe and he have been together for at least a month or two. I can’t wrap my brain around someone thinking that would be a great situation to insert themselves in. Maybe I’m projecting because I have my own little 6 month but I kind of question a man who isn’t more focused on trying to be a good father to a brand new kiddo.

    • 2catsandalittlegirl says:

Her wording is suspect: ” He [already] is a father, and I know for a fact that he would be an impeccable father”. He WOULD be an impeccable father? Not that he IS an impeccable father? I am sure she misspoke but what she said is that: Presently, he is already a father but in the future (or when they have children) he will be impeccable.

    • Kimberly J Mcdonald says:

I left e pregnant girlfriend r Khloe. The girlfried was something lime ymonths pregnant when he did it. Sleezyness from both him and khloe.

    • Geekychick says:

There is nothing lower (on my moral compass), than to leave a family with a newborn. It’s just so incredibly life changing and overwhelming and HARD, and to leave one parent out of the blue is just…not good. For another woman? Lowest of the low.
I mean,I bet it’s not like he’s there everyday: Feeding and changing diapers and actively participating in everything. Despicable.

  15. Nikki says:

Don’t know how Khloé thinks she’s any different to his BM if he will do that to her and that little baby what makes this hoe any different..? Plus the Karma of it all for taking a father away from his responsibility and feeling fly for it would be abitch smh….Khlo just proved her real low self esteem to do something like this.. she isn’t a woman at all growing is definitely needed for this girl tut tut ……what goes around comes back around look….lmfao

    • jwoolman says:

Lamar’s kids hadn’t even met Khloe before he married her. I was surprised that she was so uncaring about that, considering all the problems she had over her parents’ divorce (she said she was in therapy at the age of 5, it hit her so hard). She wouldn’t wait for the kids to get used to the idea, and didn’t hesitate to marry a man who would do that to his kids. So it’s not surprising that she’s ignoring the danger signals here.

I don’t think Khloe is that strong a woman. She doesn’t seem able to live without a guy. That usually doesn’t end well.

  16. sandy scott says:

Christian values? If he had Christian values he wouldn’t have left his pregnant girlfriend to date her, and 2nd he would have married his child’s Mother before he got her pregnant.

  17. raincoaster says:

Except Robert’s ex got $2 million a year in child support, and I don’t think she spent it ALL on shoes. I’d also bet they all have trust funds. Technically that’s not inheritance.

  18. zxc says:

“I was always really shamed and shunned by [sales assistants] who would say: “We don’t carry that size here””

If that sentence “shames” you, then yes, you did consider yourself fat. I don’t feel “shamed” by a shop assistant about my empty fridge when they tell me they don’t have any hummus.

    • Lasagnawasgreat says:

I like Sabras supremely spicy hummus, even though it’s actually not spicy, to me

  19. thaliasghost says:

Why does she keep going for the same type of man all the time and expects thing to be different?

  20. Lucy2 says:

“The value of being productive with your day”. And they all do what now exactly? Hours on hair and makeup and bad clothes to stroll for paparazzi? A life well lived, sure.

That dude should bolt in the other direction. Things do not go well for the men in that family.

  21. Disco Dancer says:

Who thought that it would take Trump becoming president and a near war situation with North Korea, before the Kardashians finally started becoming irrelevant?

  22. Mama says:

People haven’t wanted Kardashian coverage for quite some time but it keeps getting shoved down our throat.
